okay. gonna write a rambly type essay. SUMMARY: so poto is originally a novel written by gaston leroux in 1909 set in france, centering a mysterious masked man, erik (aka the phantom, the opera ghost, angel of music) and a naive, kind girl who's ridiculously brave and selfless called christine. from now on ill be talking about the musical version as i am yet to read the book ! also, the pair have INCREDIBLE music ability - christine has the voice of an angel, and the phantom is incredibly skilled at many instruments as well as have the kinda voice that probably wouldve awoken smth in me when i was ten. -christine is an orphan, her father died when she was.. eight? ish. and shes just very sad and lonely. -when her dad died, he said he'll send a angrl of music to her -erik is super super obsessed with christine and kinda stalks her. but -shes like kinda chill with it at the beginning and she even follows him into his lair? which like okay you go girl or smth. -but then she finds out oh shit !!! hes kinda freaky man. and she faints <3 -if erik had his way he'd probably just force her to marry him, but problem! -another man, raoul, who is christines childhood bestie, is here. and -hes in love with her! christines also in love with him, but imo its only because he reminds her of her father (woop woop daddy issues) -THINGS HAPPEN and i cried. just trust me on this idk how to do summaries. CHARACTERS: erik - MY BOY !!!!!! hes so traumatised and he was abused a lot because he was born with a facial deformity and nobody ever touched him ever. so he just grew into this really angry, resentful but also strangely hot dude. he gets a MILD mild redemption at the end of the movie/musical, and hes the most pathetic silliest sewer man in the world im so so obsessed with him. hes a really complex character and i could get into it but i wont because its 12am. christine - in the musical/kinda movie, shes portrayed as very meek and mild. however shes really brave and kind of a badass! like "this haunted face holds no horror for me now. its your soul in which the true distortion lies" um okay?? callout i love that. shes not wrong, his soul is fuuuucked. poor boy. her mother died in childbirth, her father died when she was young, shes alone in the world apart from a scarily hot stalker whos teaching her to sing, and shes a ballet rat in the opera populaire. ill delve more into different interpretations of her in different media. raoul - pretty rich boy. also christines childhood best friend and suitor. my boy has no thoughts in his head i was him for world book day.

DIFFERENT MEDIA: theres a movie (2004) which stars gerard butler as erik and emmy rossum as christine who are both SO OSOSOSOSOOSO PRETTY !!!!!

in the movies, erik is portrayed as quite suave and dramatic, as well as agressive and fiercely obsessive. basically, the same as how he's portrayed in the rest of the media. also ! his name isnt included in both the movies or the musical. its also very aesthetically pleasing speaking of ! theres also a musical which is pretty well known, written by andrew lloyd webber. i would say my favourite actors, but it may be a little doxxy, so i'll refrain. however, i will say that sierra boggess, one of favourite christines is WOW ! she's fiesty and seductive, not as mild as the other portrayals. thats why i love the musical version, one because it is MAGICAL to watch irl and two becuase you can play around witht the characters to fit your eye. theres a book, which gives more insight into erik's past, and also several adaptations of the novel, the most notable being susan kay;s "phantom" CONTROVERSY: i will say that the toxic relationship between christine and erik is heavily romanticised, christine experiences a lot of stockholm syndrome (shes also swedish!) and she just has a Bad Time. however. its fiction and my taste in men is fucked up beyond belief! but many people dont see it that way since erik is a kidnapper/murderer, people are NOT happy that he is shipped and loved by so many people. but like man we know ! if this happened in real life we'd be outta there like a shot, if this was a REAL PERSON we would NOT be doing this! its ridiculous to me that so many people cannot grasp that this is fiction, an escape from the rules of the real world. CONCLUSION: its more than just a romance, its a study of so many different things, like how trauma can affect different people, how growing up in certain types of environments can shape a persons life. its more of a tragedy really, not a romance as much, so if you like media which leaves a hole in you only fanfic can fix this is def for you. if you want to get into it, i recommend starting with the musical or movie, probably the musical. i didnt do it justice with this ramble, honestly its incredible and theres endless interpretations and endings (i havent even mentioned the book!)

Okay, some general thoughts about day 1:

The first thing Brock felt as he woke up half asleep, was warmth - except it was the boiling type, the type to make you suffocate and need to kick the covers off in the middle of the night. “I got in like a couple of hours ago Brock, lemme sleep.” Soft snores then faintly told Brock that Jose was asleep.

All that dance training he had with waking up at stupid o'clock in the morning had now stuck with him in his daily routine. The warmth is gone and Jose now faces with a bitter coldness. The duvet covers are gone; they had fallen off the bed. And Brock is sitting in the kitchen, awaiting Jose. Jose reluctantly gets up, legs still stiff from the flight. He shoves his t-shirt back on before scrapping it and going to grab one of Brock’s. “He won’t mind.” Jose thought.

Opening the door, the smell of coffee and pancakes hit his nose and he sighed in relief as his stomach grumbled loudly. He hadn’t eaten since lunch yesterday.

“Nice to finally see you babe.” Brock smiled across the table. Jose sheepishly smiled, “I should have woken you up but you know what I’m like. You looked peaceful."

A soft chuckle answered back, "Still. I almost got a fright when I felt someone’s arm across me. Could have been anyone."

Jose choked on the piece of the pancake he accidently inhaled as Brock spoke. "W-what?!” His face was red with tears in his eyes from the gagging. Brock had moved quickly when he started choking and rubbed his back as Jose managed to exhale it back out. “Babe, not that way. Don’t think that way. hey there! starting a sims blog and really seeing it grow takes a little time and nurturing. i’ve put together a few things i’ve learnt over my coarse of being in this community that might be kinda common sense but is detrimental to your blog (i put it under keep reading cause she’s a long one):

frequency and activity -people will come and go, it’s not unheard of of people losing inspiration for sims and stop posting but that becomes an issue if the majority of your following become inactive during your inactivity as well. you have to be active and post frequently in order to be noticed more and gain followers. use the queue feature to your advantage!!! i live in australia so if i want the majority of my followers to see what i make, i have to post things when it’s like, 12am to 12pm roughly and there’s no way im gonna be up during the wee hours of the morning. this is where the queue feature comes in, not only does it post things during the time frame you want it to be in, but it also helps post regularly and frequently! 

engagement -another big thing is to include yourself and engage with the community, sending asks not on anon, sending messages on posts, helping people if they’re stuck or just general things does actually help even if it’s just a little bit. people will recognise you if they see you around

aesthetically pleasing -biiiigggg big big is aesthetics, what you’re into will bring in like-minded people that also enjoy that specific aesthetic, whether it be cinema or pastel or over-saturated. a big tool simmers use, (me included) is reshade, a post-processing tool that makes pretty much any game look a lot better (i would go into detail but there’s a lot, here’s a post explaining all about it + there is youtube tutorials if you want to get it)

in addition, getting clean screenshots by using tab and using the headlineeffects cheat to hide the speech bubbles and plumbob (unless you’re into having them visible as i know some people looooveeee it) and putting it through actions via photoshop if you have it, makes whatever picture you’re using more interesting and pleasing to look at. gimp is also a great free program btw!

legacy stories, challenges, etc -you get to a point in time where what you were doing solely ends up not being fun anymore, thus causes the problem of being inactive, etc etc you get the jist. for me as example, i used to solely just take pictures of random sims i created in cas and it got to a point where it wasn’t fun anymore and i just got tired of doing it and stopped playing for ages. so it’s important to do things you feel would be fun for you, whether that be doing a sims challenge like the 100 baby challenge or creating a legacy story.

tag appropriately -make sure to tag all your things appropriately, it helps in the long run! use the usual big general sims tag like ts4, the sims 4, etc but also, make sure to use saviorhide for things that aren’t that important to look at like random comments you make. not only will your followers (mentally) thank you for it if they dont want to see specific things like nsfw or drugs, etc but if you decide to use /tagged/ pages in your blog for things like only wcif posts (where can i find), your future self will thank you.

you do you boo -a big thing people tend to forget is doing what you wanna do, a lot of the time, especially when you start off, you worry about not getting many followers or being noticed, we’ve all been through that at one time or another, you will eventually get to a point where you’re not worried about it anymore. but doing what you want to do and not what you think you should be doing to get more followers goes a long way, for your sake. once again, people will gravitate to you due to your particular aesthetic, dont be afraid to dip into different styles, hell, dip into all of them and see which one you like best. this is your learning period so get out there and see what works for you!

(optional) create cc -definitely the fastest way to gain a following and being noticed is making cc. however dont feel as though you absolutely have to make it, people will love the things you make if you yourself love it. if you dont love it, then there’s a good chance other people wont. recolouring is the easiest option, you can make toooons of cc via recolouring things (and once again, if you have photoshop, people have made actions to make it even easier).

i think that’s the main advice i can give you, once again, this is your learning period so trial and error your way around to see what fits your style, your convenience and happiness best, if you ever need more advice for things or want more in-depth explaining for certain stuff, dont hesitate to pop in and send me a message

sm is releasing everything only at 10 am kst (as opposed to the usual 12am kst/10am kst) because 10 is yixing’s number (THE SYMBOLISM!)

yixing is actually in the repackage and this is gonna be a Dramatic Reveal which is why yixing’s pictures couldn’t be found in the album details that were released

like the group picture poster... why didn’t sm reveal it? why was it just a big black canvas with a huge question mark? usually they show the group picture but it’s just hella blurred!! WHY? The MyVMK Staff had been planning on bringing the guests of MyVMK Star Wars month. This was a theme that they had been wanting to do since the beginning of December of the year 2017.

All of the MyVMK Designers had sat down in a meeting to decide the fate of this months theme. February's theme was decided on after a Counsel vote among the Staff members.

After two months of careful planning, the MyVMK Staff were proud to bring the new months theme to the guests of MyVMK, with hope that it would be one of the best months in the galaxy.

Please note that all releases will happen on the 1st, 8th, the 15th and the 22nd of every month at 12am EST. This will be the schedule until further notice.

The new client alpha is now out for everyone to enjoy! To enter, just hit the big blue button that says ENTER (ALPHA) after you login to the website. What is your favorite thing to do around the Kingdom?

Oh, definitely hanging out with guests in their guest rooms! I looove seeing what they put together, whether it be a creatively-themed room or a fun game! We’ve got a lot of talent in our community. :’)

What is the best item for building your rooms?

For building MY rooms, I’m going to be 100% predictable and say the four colored lightsabers we have in-game: blue, green, purple, and red! When you walk into a room and see those bad boys, you know it’s going to be a good time.

What has been your favorite HOST event thus far?

Ooooo, the first thing to come to mind was HOST_Dumpling’s Heroes of Winter Maze this past December! There were SO MANY ROOMS and each and every one of them was so well done! Ooo, also, last month, “A Sitch in Time” hosted by HOST_Duchess also got me amped up every time I got to help out! Props to her for elevating her event to the next level with “It’s Just You” by LMNT as its soundtrack! That's my JAM.

What is your favorite mini-game in MyVMK?

Pirates of the Caribbean! What’s better than a 4v4 game of Ship Battle?!

What is your favorite type of Guest Room?

I feel very passionately about the Skull Rock Guest Room… buuut maybe this month some new rooms will be released that I’ll love even more! ;)

This whole month is already my favorite MyVMK memory. This. This is it.

What is your favorite Public Room in the Kingdom?

Y’all are nuts if you think I’m gonna pick just one. I love love LOVEEE the Waterpark Pool, the Inner-Space Ray Room, and the Monorail Train as standalone rooms, but the classic VMK music up and down Main Street genuinely makes me tear up – ESPECIALLY the Castle Forecourt. Gets me every time.

What is your favorite theme on VMK?

Star… Wars…? :)

What is your favorite Disney park?

The Magic Kingdom has alllllways been very near and dear to my heart, but I got to experience Hollywood Studios for the first time last year. Sorry for sounding like a broken record, but their Star Wars stuff blew me out of the water. If I ever get to go to the new Star Wars land after it opens, I'm not sure my fragile heart will be able to take it, honestly.

Who is your favorite Disney Character?

Rey, Leia, and Luke Skywalker (Star Wars), Woody (Toy Story), Ralph (Wreck-It Ralph), Rolly (101 Dalmatians), Kristoff (Frozen), Rapunzel (Tangled), Sadness (Inside Out), Sulley and Boo (Monsters Inc.), Will Turner (Pirates of the Caribbean), and Ella (the live action Cinderella in 2015)! I… just have a lot of feelings, okay?

  Right now, Bambi is about 18 weeks along, so it's too early to determine the sex of the baby. We wouldn't be surprised if they have a gender reveal as that seems to be a trend with expecting parents.

Baby Richardson will make his/her arrival sometime this Summer.

“Oh Seungwan?” I call out to my friend, making sure the connection is good.

“Are you there?” His face suddenly appears on the little screen you had on your one and you instantly smile.

“Y/n? why are you calling so late? It’s almost 12am?” He whined. “You’re lucky i actually tolerate you and I’m usually awake at this time.”

“Hahaha sorry…” I said yawning “ I couldn’t sleep and missed my bossy friend”

“Bossy!?” he scuffed “I am offended”

I laugh at his silliness and he starts to laugh too. We talked for a while just about simple things like how he feels his best friend Vernon is out to get him just because he wanted a bite of his food, and how his singing has really helped him out a bit.

“ So are you going to sing to me or am i just suppose to assume your voice has gotten better?” i teased.

“Fine” Seungkwan said then he cleared his throat and started to sing. He chosed a very slow sad song, and it fit his voice very well.

I have a huge crush on him but i never want to tell him that because he’s one of my closes friends. We meet a few years ago at a local shopping center when we both grabbed the same shirt. I guess you can say that things went very well after that.

We started hanging out and eventually became really good friends. It wasn’t until last year when i realized i had serious feelings for him when i was over his place and he was singing to a random song his mom was playing for some background noise while we all did our own things.

The way he was so focused on singing and how his face slightly scrunches up and his head tilts when he reaches a high note, and how he was just so relaxed and comfortable. I knew I was in love with this boy.

“Y/n?” My thoughts were interrupted by Seungkwan soft voice “ Earth to y/n?”

“Oh sorry I was just in awe of your voice” I giggle. Even though i said it as a joke it was true. His voice was very husky but also gentle.

“Yeah yeah yeah whatever i guess i’ll stop singing now” he said

“Wait no please keep singing! “ I quickly yell “ it’s relaxing and i need to sleep”

“Haha fine y/n” he rolled his eyes and then started to sing another song.

I instantly got into a comfortable position and closed my eyes just to listen to his voice. This song was different. It was very loving and had sweet lyrics to it. I felt as if he was saying those words to me. I started to get very sleepy. Although my eye were closed they got even more heavy. Then i just blurted it out..

“Ahhh Seungkwan I really like you”

I peeked my eyes open and just looked at him. He obviously heard me becasuse I saw a soft shade of pink come across his face as well as a smile.

“y/n go to bed you’re really tired” he said his voice sounding apologetic.

“I am, But i’m still going to like you even when i wake up.” i yawn “ And not just as a friend… I like you more than a friend”

Seungkwan was now silent. We both were looking at each other. I was barely able to keep my eyes open but I forced myself to keep trying to stare.

“y/n..?” Seungkwan finally spoke.

“Hm?”

“Go to sleep.. You look really tired.”

“No.. i don’t *yawn* want to *yawn* “ I said trying to keep my head up “I wanna hear your voice”

He hesitated but then finally said

“Fine, i’ll sing one more song but i’m hanging up after because i’m tired too” He smiled.

“Okay”

He started to sing Adore U, a song him and his friends made. Little did i know it was about me and seungkwan felt the same way about me

Once he knew I was asleep he quietly whispered good night and hung up.

The next morning I got a text
