sometimes I have very strong feelings about how Laszlo Cravensworth went to Eton College and promptly flunked out of their rifle corp. how loudly and enthusiastically he talks about fucking men now, when as a mortal he probably had to limit who he told. how he was born to tons of money but gets big stupid crushes on corny working-class guys, and dumped his entire home country because they insulted his wife. how he can barely remember faces, but when he ran away to some little nowhere town he promptly made friends with everyone at the bar and their local sports team.

how he has countless bastard kids he never sees, but when his friend needed help he instantly adopted him. how he has zero interest in power/money/stuff because he's clearly been there done that and all it did was trap him when he had it. how he's perfectly content curled up in an old blanket, in a house that's falling apart, as long as he's doing something that interests him. how he's ostensibly the most self-centered, but also the most selfless and loyal, of the blood-drinking vampires we meet.

if immortality gave Nandor perspective and Nadja power, it gave Laszlo freedom. and he is baby and I love him.

Just thinking about how awards shows are generally tedious affairs even under the best of circumstances, and David clearly was doing his best to get through reading a bunch of pablum on the autocue (teleprompter) unscathed, and the very first thing he does to retain some semblance of sanity and hold onto a piece of his real self in the midst of playing the part of David Tennant, Award Show Host is to take part in a bit/go right up to his emotional support pet, a.k.a., Michael. While holding an actual pet, no less...

(Also that dog is officially their child and this entire thing gave me British Birdcage vibes with David as Albert and Michael as Armand and I will not be taking arguments at this time...)

But holy crap, though! I’m injured so badly, and I can’t leave my bed, and it’s a fucking prison, but it’s also fucking amazing because anywhere else hurts, and I’m so scared my pain will hit a ten again, I’m so scared, it was some of the worst pain in my life and I’ve been attacked by a dog, and oh god, my baby boy, my little prince, my kitty, is so sick, and he needs meds, and he probably has brain tumors, and I don’t think there’s much we can do for him, and oh god, what if he’s dying? What if he’s gonna die? I want him to live till 18, not a few months past 10! And I can’t be there for him, and I can’t hold him, and give him kisses, and treats, and let him know he’s not alone, and that he’s loved. I’m fucking helpless! And my pépère literally broke his neck! His C1 vertebrae. I’m glad he survived! I’m so glad he survived, but he fell on his face. My wonderful pépère who no longer has his lovely wife in this world (or even two of his children!) fell on his face, and broke his neck. He must be in so much pain, and he’s lying about it, because that’s all he ever does about how he feels. And I can’t visit him, and I feel like my life is crumbling around me while I’m just here, in my bed.

Remember when Andrew Burnap was not nominated for a single award in London or New York with the sole exception of the Tony Award and then he randomly WON??? (Which is even more interesting because his co lead in London got all the attention and picked up the Olivier). That is so rare for someone who had competed in not one but two awards seasons. And so remarkably deserving. Just incredible performance.
