He's like. Genuinely unsettling. Wish the show struck a better balance with his character sometimes (like sometimes when he's onscreen I have to skip over because I feel queasy and sometimes he's so unsubtle he feels more like a prop than a guy who's going to be a Huge Deal in s2)

ohh i had a dream about tavington last night… we were on a ship and i was wandering around the decks desperately looking for him but no one knew where he went, until i walked into a room and there was just a pile of dead bodies and a trail of blood so i followed it and eventually found him about to attack someone. i called out his name and he turned around and was covered in blood, like all in his hair and splattered across his face…. and i distinctly remember that my only thought was “wow… i need him so bad” like girl…. stop it.. get some help.

Look I'm posting this before ep 4 so I'm ready to eat my words but!

I like the idea of Mew knowing about Ray's feelings the whole time and knowingly refusing to draw a clear boundary with him because it feels really realistic to me.

Like as someone who when I was a teenager was in a lot of unbalanced and one sided relationships where I felt like I cared more for them then they did for me, I also remembering really wishing that someone would care more about me than I did for them for once. And I can 100% see Mew being the same way.

We don't know his full backstory yet and I don't think he's a particularly reliable narrator when it comes to things, so there's a lot of unknowns there. But what we do know is that he's been friends with Ray and Boston (and presumably Chueam) for at least 2 years, he's had a few romantic interests who never progressed very far, and him being in a romantic relationship is something that doesn't happen frequently/hasn't happened for a bit. And he likes the attention Top gives him. He likes being pursued and chased after.

And before Top, there wasn't anyone else doing that except Ray. Even though Ray wasn't trying to actively date Mew, he clearly wanted that, and Mew held onto that because he likes being wanted. The fact that Ray isn't actively pursuing him is probably why he was so open to Top as well, as Top was offering a lot more to him. At this point, I'm not sure how much actual romantic interest Mew has in Top (I definitely think Top is more into him), but his actual interest doesn't matter because that's not the point to him.

So with Ray, now that things are progressing with Top, he feels like he should point him towards Sand. He doesn't need Ray's unrequited feelings anymore, because Top is fulfilling that role now. And because I think that Mew does care about his friends some, he's decided that it's time for Ray to find someone else to give him what he wants as well.

But what I think will be most telling about Mew's intentions with Ray (and Top for that matter) is what he'll do when things inevitably fall apart with him and Top. Because when he fights with Top and feels like the roles have been reversed, with him wanting Top more than Top wants him, what is he going to do about Ray? Will he try to get Ray's feelings to return back to what they were before Top happened?

Anyways I think if Mew is aware of Ray's feelings the whole time it'll really fit with everything we know about him so far and also just make him all the more relatable

I do not think Germaine will be a redeemable character. Whatsoever. I do not think he will be sorry for anything he's done, I do not want him to. He is amoral with an unhealthy obsession that has caused the deaths of no doubt thousands.

I do, however, believe that (if Germaine were to get a body of his own) Mahiru's "I Can Fix This Awful Man" instincts will kick in despite all he knows about this man. Which in the grand scheme of things is not a lot.

The worst thing that could happen from that is that Germaine would observe. He'd watch Mahiru and notice that Mahiru and his Adam are so similar.

I wonder what Mahiru would do, what he would learn and think if he tried to better Germaine but instead found himself sat next to Kuro in that man's shelf of muses?

What would happen if Mahiru found himself at the end of Germaine's scalpel?

I have seen a LOT of posts now like "Cayde is clearly just a marketing tactic, it ruins the oomph of Forsaken, his presence is going to ruin the story and remove the stakes of previous lore," and it's like. you realize that is the point, right? like, THE Point, right? That generating discussion is The Point of marketing, right? And that we don't know how Cayde's presence will or will not affect the story because we don't know what the story even IS yet and that is part of The Point, right? That we cannot assume it stomps on previous storylines because we don't know what the story is yet and that is also part of The Point, right? Can we just acknowledge this for a minute?
