info about my main WIPS rn:
i have too many WIPS shut up i know
original stories:
next christmas:
short story (kind of, if I say it's a short story it'll still be lots of words lmao) about two girls and a small look into their life each christmas and they're best friends who think their pining is unrequited and every time they're like "it's ok it'll happen next christmas!" and it just doesn't and they have to deal with lots of mental health stuff
main characters:
August: lesbian, she/her, i love her so much she's the loml, people pleaser, slowly realises that she doesn't have to be the second choice and she should be a priority, is a bit of an asshole to Lottie in like chapters 5-9 but Lottie deserves it tbh
Charlotte/Lottie: bisexual, she/they, kind of a bitch a lot of the time, gets into relationships for like a week and then gets into another one a month later, commitment issues, eventually has a redemption arc thing and she actually does deserve August
Ayanda/Aya: asexual, panromantic, they/she, they are my spirit animal i love her so much, August's new bestie, absolute sweetheart who values friendship over anything else, also basically the reason EVERYTHING happens in the story
everyone else is kinda irrelevant ngl
love is not enough:
name will definitely change I hate it.
plot is very complicated idk if I even understand it and I'm the one writing it 😭💀 basically gay royalty but it's confusing and the economy is dying and the main love interest is kinda a fugitive??? i guess???? lots of secrets yay
main characters:
kit chevalier-fernsby: gay (very much closeted), he/him, prince, science, slightly pretentious but that's his parents fault, he loves dates where they stay in with blankets and candles and hot chocolate and read books together. he's such a cutie patootie i wanna give him a hug <3
lucas akehurst: unlabelled, he/they, gaurd, hopeless romantic, artist, midnight walks in the rain + art galleries + coffee, mysterious. he is my baby i will protect him at all costs.
no side character information bc i can't be bothered <3
fanfics
hell is a teenage girl:
hunger games fic! finnick's younger (15 years old) sister going through her hunger games and gaining a lot of trauma. very emotion and relationship (familial, platonic, and romantic but the friends she makes are arguably more valuable to her than her relationship). basically she goes through what finnick goes through and she learns to be a manipulative little shit bc what else is she meant to do
main characters:
serena odair: loml. bisexual icon (with a preference for woman) who is a little bit manipulative but let's be real when you're in the arena you do whatever the fuck you can to stay alive. district four, she wins (duh she's the main character) and her brother means absolutely everything to her. spoiler: trauma yay
cassie farwater: serena's best friend! district 11 and a mean lesbian. 16 years old and her friends mean the world to her. her loyalty is what gets her killed.
eloise astor: serena's gf!! district one – been training for the games her whole life so it comes as a big surprise when she sacrifices herself for marina!!
kaz claremont: the district partner/close friend – he's quite and determined and he listens. he knows all the gossip. very impulsive and bold. panromantic + asexual
ash terra: the only person who gives serena a run for her money in the manipulative category. he's an absolute bitch and will stab anyone in the back without hesitation. makes it clear to everyone that this isn't a game of trust. district 3
sadie nightgrove: district 5, cassie's gf. bisexual. very charming and puts on a clueless facade before turning on people. despite being absolutely able to win the games she would never hurt the people she's allied with - and that is her downfall
mad woman
sequel to hell is a teenage girl and yes it's named after the taylor swift song. quarter quell and lots of serena and finnick sibling bonding. very protective finnick and very manipulative (not to finnick) serena, they're a power duo.
serena is like the only original character in this so she's basically the same just more traumatized and hotter.

The Musketeers Reaction: A Rebellious Woman
Jezebel (@typicalopposite) reacts [with occasional asides by Wench (@scripted-downfall)]
[Starting out with both Athos and Flirt; a good start for both of us]  Whooop whoooop!!
Le gasp
Oooooof, poor girl
Well shit, she ded
Oooop!
Men.  😤😤
[Bruh, this woman going for the Musketeers for why]
“As sane as you and me. Or me anyway” 🙂
Oooop plot twist
Ooooop!
Tantrum?  “That allowed?”  [*simultaneously* "Is that allowed?"  Louis sounded so confused ;aldskfj]  😂😂😂
Ew men!  Well, man! But still
[For an episode that started with Athos and Aramis, they haven't been in it much :(  (just wait tho)]  Ooop… You said that and they appeared 🙂
Ooooooop… Tantrum!  [tbf, wouldn't you throw a tantrum if some dude wrote a pamphlet saying some other dude can have you killed?]  Fair!
["That's very, very shocking"  Sir, your Twelfth Doctor is showing]
Bruh.  Your wife.  [*simultaneously* Also.  SIR.  YOUR WIFE.  IS RIGHT THERE]  !!!  LIKE HAVE YOU EVEN EVER LOOKED AT HER!?!  (Flirt has)
Oooop ["Probably only mental vacancy"  Biatch]
Poor Athos is getting heart eyes and his wife is just standing in the background
[Forget beauty; trauma's apparently the flirting style to choose]  Ma’am’s gonna get ded
😖😖😖 [Ah, yes, have a *bone*]
Oooop!  Now Athos has heart eyes!  Er, heart lips?  Heart everything
Ma’am that’s gonna get you DED  [not saying that he's concerned about this, but]  ☠️☠️☠️☠️
Ooop!  Ooooooop!!
[Do you see what I mean, btw, by the Cardinal's scheming and misguided but not completely, totally evil?  Like, he's definitely better than this dude]  I do!  [He's actively like.  Okay, whoa, I said she was insane, I didn't say "deal with her firmly", is she reallyyyyyy a heretic?]  ☠️☠️☠️☠️
["I'm sure his face was a picture when you kissed him"  Yeah, but Milady don't care at alllllll] 😂😂😂😂
😦 OOF [ngl, he's got a point… She kinda needs to consider the consequences of what she's doing.  I have so much analysis about this ep, oml]  LOL  But also ☹️☹️☹️☹️ oooof
😂 Mentally he’s like say no say no say no
Ack, would not want to be alive back then
"It ended badly?" "You could say that" He says with a smile
[She just ran smack into him ☠️]
Well damn BY HER HAIR ☹️☹️
[The bookssssss]  😭😭😭😭
[His face tho]
Oooop the fingers!  He goes "four girls" and holds up his fingers and they literally are all pointing in different ways
[Someone's pissedddddd]
“Take this… but like… I want it back”  [*simultaneously* Sir just gave away his gift from the freaking Queen]
“We all gotta accept our fate in life.”  Everyday I wake up poor with a bunch of attitude filled hellions I think the same thing, chick 😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨
– – –
Jezebel: I can’t think of much to say… but Athos was giving the star lady the smoulder. Putting Flirt to shameeee!  Then of course it all went to shit
Wench: Ma'am, I honestly don't get how you watch this and are like.  *shrug*  Not much to say.  (All affection possible, to be clear.)  But like.  I'm watching it and I'm like.  HOLY FUCKING SHIT OH MY GOD THE PARALLELSSSSS
Jezebel: Cause Athos is your beloved not mine 😂
Wench: Yeah, but you didn’t see the Aramis one either
Jezebel: Ok yeah no I didn’t 😂
Wench: Anyway, go on, say the parallels you’ve come to see
Jezebel: I’m not good at picking up parallels 👀 until they are pointed out. Or I know to look for them. And I mean… damn you!  Just say them then, wench
Wench: Well, you’ve got: privileged noblewoman who has an idealistic view of the world and acts in the way she thinks is right accidentally getting people hurt in the process contrasted with Athos, who we know was a nobleman, and who was a bit naive/idealistic when he fell in love with Milady, and who got Thomas killed as a result.  Which, to my mind, is why he takes her to the morgue. Is it harsh?  Yes.  But it's the same wake-up call he got when his brother was killed, and he knows where Ninon is heading if she keeps on her path.
Jezebel: And ahhh. Yes so that’s again a lot deeper than the parallels I assumed you meant, which were: strong independent woman?  Enter Athos heart eyes.  Woman may be deceitful?  Aaaaand now she’s ded.  Enter Athos broken heart eyes
Wench: Well, with the exception of the ded bit (because I’d not spoil something like that during midpoint, for shame!), that basically is the second parallel.  (I had this already typed up before you sent that, so pardon the repetition, BUT.)  You’ve got: Athos fell in love with Milady (a fierce, independent woman) and trusted her, and she ended up being very much not who he thought she was and killing his brother as a result.  Fast-forward a great many years of self-loathing, guilt complex, and abstinence, and you’ve got Ninon (a fierce, independent woman) with whom he’s at least entertaining the idea of something happening, and he trusts her word that the girls aren’t there, and he finds out that no, actually, she lied to him.  Which is (part of) why he’s so angry right now.  And I'd wager another part of that is internally motivated because it's a second time that he lets himself put trust in a potential romantic interest and gets burned for it.  (*snort* literally.  Wait.  WAIT.  LAKSDJFL;KADSJFLKADSFJLKADSJF  That's funny!!!  Tell you during endpoint)
Jezebel: Ok lol
Wench: Anyway.  Those are the parallels.  Respond at will
Jezebel: Except Milady killed the brother herself and Ninon just taught the girl to think for herself and she acted out on it foolishly.  Which, yes, the blame still can lead back to Ninon but I don’t think it makes her a bad person. Sooooo team Athos and Ninon for me 😂  Unless she is only in this episode and then never mentioned again… Then team fuck you writers 😂😂
Wench: You'll see what happens.  Though, I will say... It did kinda seem like she encouraged the note thing?  "Oh, lemme write this for you and then tell you that the Queen is a sympathetic ear *wink wink*" is kinda.  Active.  And, also, like I said... a lot of it is a matter of trust.  She gave her word, he kindaaaaa vouched for her (but, more importantly, bought the lie), and then it turned out to be false
Jezebel: Fair!
Wench: I interpret it as: He thinks her goal admirable, but also thinks she's going about it the wrong way.  She asked for his trust and abused it.  Etc.  Also, I'm sorry... I like Aramis; you know I do... but he annoys me sometimes.  He acts like he knows all the details of a situation a lot of the time when he just... doesn't?  And I feel like someone with eyes could see that?
Jezebel: No you’re right 😂😂😂😂
Wench: So, like, in the episode where they go back to Athos' estate, he keeps picking fights and worming for more information and even bringing up the vaguely bitchy "how many servants did this place have?" and stuff without reading the fact that This Is a Serious Development.  He's actively opening up to them a bit, in an extremely painful way, precisely because he does care about Porthos, but Aramis is just being. Annoying. Or in this episode with the "she was protecting the girls, not deceiving you."  Yeah, that's true.  And intellectually, I'm sure Athos gets that.  It changes nothing about the emotional side.  And Aramis doesn't know about Athos' past, so you'd think he'd have a bit more care/curiosity and a bit less judgement
Jezebel: Yeah that’s fair!
Wench: I mean.  They've known each other for like.  Five years.  Minimum
Jezebel: Trueeee! *Sigh* Dammit Flirt! You’re making me look bad for liking you
Wench: I will say... Anne (Milady), Ninon, Sylvie (not that you know her yet, but still).  Buddy's got a freaking type ☠️
Jezebel: 😂😂😂😂😂 executed
Wench: Ma’am.  Shut up (aff).  Anything else for midpoint?
Jezebel: I’m good if you are 🙂
– – –
Ooooop you sure ma’am?
“This is family business” *Hand raised aggressively* Oh no
Ooooop
Cause women do have brains and thoughts of their own 👀
Ackkkk I couldn’t have livedddd back thennnnn  [*You* couldn't have?  Ma'am, you don't like conflict; you might have hated it, but you'd be physically fine.  I'd be burned at the stake as a heretic in a fucking millisecond]  ☠️☠️☠️☠️
Oooooop she poisoned ittttt  [Where’d you get that from? alskdjf]  The way she held the cup ☠️
[Once again: the truly wonderful state of trials at the time]
Now I know she poisoned it
Oooop!
[His expression 😭]
Seeeee I hold grudges ☠️☠️☠️ so I will struggle liking Milady if she ever isn’t the bad guy anymore.  Maybe she’ll leave without a reformation arc but like.  Nah
[HER SMIRK!  What a bitch alksdjf]
How has it been proven  [As I said… courts are great]
Respect for the queen!  Proof she has a good heart, too, ‘cause her husband has been goofily eying Ninon all episode
“What will I do if he dies?!”  DIE!  You will die!
Ooooop… Poor queen
Ma’am, what does it matter if she was Aramis' girl?  YOU ARE MARRIED  [Ma’am.  You act like the sanctity of marriage means anything.  Literally two seconds.  After you were just talking about how you couldn't survive.  The lack of autonomy.]  It was a joke Wench shush
[Portamis' side-eyes alskdjf]  😂😂😂😂  ["How do you know about Madame de la Chapelle?"  "Her whole life is a lie"  Bravo, Athos, that's very clear.  Very informative.]  Right 😂😂☠️☠️☠️☠️
Sweet lord this man
“You think I poisoned him?”  Yep
40!?!?  Sweet lord  [Good news…  She can follow the path of all wives these days and just.  Affair]  😂😂😂😂☠️☠️☠️☠️
Why would he willingly drink out of another glass of water after that
Ooooof ☹️☹️☹️  [Ah, yes.  I'm sick.  Let me fondle this bone]  A KNEE BONE  [*Ah, yes. I'm sick. Let me fondle this *knee* bone]
And I’m a jealous bitchhhhh 👀
😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨
[To be fair, she didn't only betray her own sex.  She betrays dudes more regularly, in fact]  Fair… She’s just a betrayer of all things  [Yup!  Also… I'm sorry, but I do kinda love Milady.  In a love-to-hate kinda way.  She's just so delectably... morally fucked]  😂😂😂😂 You would ma’am!  [I always loved Irene Adler too]  Evil loves evil 😤😮‍💨  [Rude :(  I feel attacked]  Because you are ma’am 🙂 (aff)
And sir you will be going to hell for a lot more than just your relationship not being intact
[Athos is.  Very Determined]  He is!
Buddy… He said open his mouth, not lean in for a kiss  [Portamis banter]  You too Port
[ATHOS, STOP TOUCHING IT IF IT’S POISONED]  ☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️  [I KNOW YOU'RE NOT BIG ON SURVIVAL BUT STILL]
Oh the priest guy poisoned it
☠️☠️☠️☠️ Mood, Port  [Because the Cardinal is the only one who can call off her death and he wants to save her alsdkfj Duh]  … true 😂  God, to be alive during these trials
My dude why did you look?!!?  You.  Idiot.
[Damn, Athos, you speed-running the rescue]
Ack the intensity
Athossss  [Also, more parallels here I'ma talk about in endpoint]
["I'm not a cruel man.  Just a practical one."  Like I said: true neutral]  Very practical
Well damn  😦  [I mean.  She do be alive tho]  That’s true… But also, that’s so unfair  [Indeed]
[Buddy, that be called blasphemy]
☠️☠️☠️ They go… we can hear you
[I love Peter Capaldi.  And his accent is awesome]  Yessss
[Oh shit more parallels]
And sad Athos again… Well, damn.  Buddy can’t catch a break.  [Ma'am, this is one of my favorite characters; happiness is exceedingly fleeting for them]  ☠️☠️☠️
💔💔💔💔  [Poor Constance]  Damn ☹️☹️☹️
[OH SHIT IS IT THIS SCENE?  OH SHIT IT'S THIS SCENE.  d'Artagnan.exe has stopped working… "I love you.”  *blue screens*  “I mean... respect and admire"  "Say it again?"  "I respect and admire you?"]
👀👀👀👀👀👀
OMG!!!!  Awwwwwwww  [This can't possibly go wrong] She is marr- fuck it, I ship ‘em  [Ma'am has a het ship?!?!?!?!?!  WHOA!!!  (Yes, I recognize that I'm one to talk... shut up)]  😂😂😂😂 I love it tho! That was adorable!
– – –
Jezebel: Omg! 😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨 this was just an emotional roller coaster! Poor Athos! 💔💔💔💔  Like 🥺🥺🥺 buddy deserves to be happpyyyy! And it just gets ripped away from him! Like for once (and you know I like Aramis more 😂 but still) the heart eyes was aimed at him! And then it’s just like… nope. Nuh Uh! Not happening. She’s exiled now! And by the cardinal… the one his wife is working with! ☹️☹️
Wench: Not that he knows that, I don't think.  Or does he?  I can't actually recall
Jezebel: True, but WEEEE know 😭  I don’t think he does
Wench: Poor buddy
Jezebel: I don’t think he would have tried the little he did to save the Cardinal if he had 😂😂
Wench: Nah, he would.  You underestimate his sense of duty/honor.  It's like when he had to apologize to the Duke of Savoy… That was exceedingly humiliating, especially given the Duke's responsibility in the Savoy betrayal, and the fact that he felt his duty outweighed his sense of honor/pride is telling.  Also, there would have been no other way to save Ninon; the Cardinal issued her order of execution, and he had to rescind it.
Jezebel: True!! I keep forgetting they needed him for that ☠️☠️☠️
Wench: And, finally, I do think there's a degree to which having the Cardinal helps.  Because he's the King's right hand, essentially.  His advisor.  And a) it'd make France appear weak to have the advisor to the King be killed, especially by an emissary from Rome.  And b) he does help the King on a lot of things.  We tend to see his scheming side, but, again, at least this incarnation actively helps when it suits him.
Jezebel: Yeah his flip flopping gives me whiplash 😂😂
Wench: :)
Jezebel: And nooo, but Athos!  Buddy straight up gone on his knees and begged 🥺🥺😭😭😭😭
Wench: And, just gonna remind... Athos was a nobleman.  Pride and honor are bound to be pretty damn important.  It's why the whole duty vs. love thing with Milady shook out the way it did; he had to do his duty, not just because of the King's ruling, but also because of his own sense of right and wrong... but it's tearing him apart because he did actually love her.  (Kinda does, in some ways.)  And he might hate himself as a result, but his honor still means a lot to him.  Like in "Commodities" where the guy asks, "How do I know you won't betray me?" and Athos' response is a vaguely insulted, "I'm going to pretend I didn't hear that."  All of which makes clear how significant this was by putting that supplication into context.
Jezebel: ☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️
Wench: Thank you, thank you... I'm here all week!  Follow me for more painful analysis.  (And it's not JUST Athos analysis, to be clear.  I pay attention to the others too.  Like the Savoy thing.  But like.  Athos be interesting!  I have put him under a microscope like a bug)
Jezebel: Also ack! I just feel so bad for himmmm ☹️☹️☹️
Wench: alskdjflaksdjflksadf  Now you understand why he is my beloved
Jezebel: Athos be just your type of angst… The tragic hero that can never be happy!
Wench: a;lskdjf;lakdsjf TO BE FAIR!!!  (And this isn't too spoilery)  That isn't FULLY true for Athos
Jezebel: Which part, first or second?
Wench: *whistles*  Or… Well.  I guess I can say.  The second.
Jezebel: Aight so the first implies enough 😂😂😂
Wench: Hmph
Jezebel: Anyway! I’m sorry I don’t think I will ever like Aramis and the Queen, unless they start having more scenes together to build a relationship. It’s just feels like purely lust rn. And this isn’t me just shipping Flort talking lol  Which is also why I was like Hmph about her being jealous
Wench: They do have more later
Jezebel: Fair ☠️ But idk I just don’t like it ☠️☠️ But I do like her, so let that be said… She is so sweet and I feel bad for her 💕☹️ just not enough to ship her and Aramis  ☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️
Wench: Okay, but you haven't actually said why you dislike it… I, personally, think Aramis is an idiot for it, but I'm fond enough of them both that I'm on-board.  As a passing ship that I don't obsess over but don't dislike
Jezebel: (Can you tell I’ve been writing I am not using my nickname 😤😤😤😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨)
Wench: asdlkfj
Jezebel: Well mainly just because I don’t see it. Other than he saved her and she gave him a necklace ☠️☠️  But also the thing about Aramis being an idiot! Which it sucks because you should get to be with the one you love and she was forced into a loveless marriage
Wench: You do realize he's been protecting her for years, right?  Just because they only recently started interacting, doesn't mean there's not history of some kind.  (Which is actually what's so insulting about the pilot episode.  The King doesn't even know who Athos is despite them being there for years as some of the best in his regiment.  So the Queen has likely interacted with them to a decent degree)
Jezebel: That true and fair! But I’m reacting to what I see ma’am! So Hmph 😂😂😂😂😂
Wench: Anyway, moving on. Milady thoughts?
Jezebel: I don’t likeeee herrrr 😤😤😤 lol!  But also I think I missed why she was even in the place with Ninon in the first place 🤔  Or did the Cardinal send her after the death?
Wench:  She was gathering dirt on Ninon to get her to stop.  He wanted someone in there getting information, basically
Jezebel: That’s what I thought!
Wench: Also, going back to the Athos/Ninon parallel from earlier: Both end up giving up their money/lands/etc in response to tragedy, basically rewriting their lives/identities, and moving somewhere where they continue preserving their ideals but to a less obvious degree.  And I was laughing about the "got burned for it" earlier because both relationships literally end in fire and flame.  Milady burns down the la Fere house and Ninon is almost burned to death.
Jezebel: 😖😖😖😖😖😖😖 trueeeee
Wench: And then there's one final parallel (that occurs to me right now)... From Milady's POV, Athos intervened (extremely spiritedly) on behalf of Ninon and called of the execution, but had not been willing to do so for her.  Obviously this isn’t full fair, since a) Ninon’s actions were only considered criminal because they were inconvenient, not because they were actually harmful, thus he would have done the same for anyone and b) he’d been living with the guilt of killing Milady for long enough that the situations aren’t comparable (e.g. he might have been able to think that he could take comfort in Milady’s execution being his duty the first go-round, but he knows that he can’t by the second go-round).  But there ya go
Jezebel: True so you see why she’s upset… not that she deserves to be upset but you see it 😂😂
Wench: I understand why you don't like Milady, but I do think it's important to note that she does have a rather sympathetic story.  I know things that make her even more sympathetic from later in the series, but you know some of it already... If you look at it from her perspective, she's spent her whole life shoved into the role of criminal to survive, and she keeps asking for someone to understand.  And every time, she gets rejected, and she's back to being a criminal, but she just wants someone to understand.  To recognize that she's not as bad as what she's been forced to do.  But she also tells herself she doesn't care about that --- she tries to force herself to not care about that --- and years of having to survive some way or another have worn down her morals.  So she's in this loop.
Still Wench: She's a street criminal but she finallyyyy finds a way to be happy, a way to love and be loved in return... and then Thomas finds out about her path and snaps, threatens to tear her life down, and she can't bring herself to trust that Athos would be able to (in terms of emotion or in terms of the law, it's a mix of both) see past that, so she kills him.  And this betrayal/murder is what truly drives Athos away (except not even that, because he clearly still loves her in canon), but she sees it as just more proof that she is a criminal, will be a criminal, and can't be loved because she's a criminal.  And then she goes and gets a job from the cardinal where, guess what, she's once again committing crimes for the sake of survival.  But she's still so desperate (much as she doesn't want to admit) that she even goes to a confessional to try and get absolution, and the priest rejects her --- condemns her for her actions despite the fact that God is supposed to be forgiving, tells her she's unforgivable --- so she gets pissed.
Jezebel: Oh gosh that’s a lot ☠️☠️😮‍💨 I was like what happened 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Wench: Her entire life is a cycle of trying to survive, and then every time she tries to live --- to be recognized as not having much of a choice, to be seen as more than what she's done --- it gets snatched away.  So she steels herself, goes on with what she has to do, and the cycle repeats.
Jezebel: Yeah, I can see that once you say it. Like with Sam!  My biggest flaw in being a reactor is I don’t look deeper than what I’m seeing (and I’ll miss parts 😂😂☠️☠️) but once it’s pointed out I can really see it!
Wench: Anyway… anything else?
Jezebel: I think that’s all I have!

BETTER CALL SAUL
I’m a little conflicted on Carol Burnett.
Oh, absolutely love her! She’s great. And she was perfect in her role. It’s not Carol Burnett I’m having difficulty with but her character or, more specifically, her contribution to the story arc...
On the one hand I see the need for a Carol Burnett, an actor of her stature:  They switched Jeff’s on us!
Right?
You can’t just get away with that. You can’t make a character important and then switch actors. That makes it a different character! So the obvious answer to losing an actor is to abandon the character altogether. You can’t switch actors, the actor forms part of the identity of the character, the original Jeff is unavailable for whatever reason, so you just abandon the Jeff character. Only in this case they couldn’t. Jeff was too important to the story. He was the engine to so much suspense, so much speculation.
Jeff identified Saul Goodman! Jeff identified him! This was a major, major, major plot turn! Jeff is incredibly important to the story and they can’t book the actor who played Jeff! So, what do they do?
“The light over here is better.”
“If they can’t look and see the same Jeff, put an actor of immense stature on the screen to look at!”
It’s brilliant. Utterly brilliant. Except...
Is Carole Burnett’s character going to be Saul’s undoing?
There’s a lot of speculation online that Marion, Carol Burnett’s character, has made Saul Goodman. That, she recognizes him. Or at least she thinks she does. Maybe she’s not entirely sure just yet but she is suspicious. According to theories. And, once certain, she drops a dime on Jimmy McGill.
So is Carol Burnett a “Fix,” a solution to the Jeff problem, or is she a major driver of the story?
Reading the tea leafs? All signs point towards Marion crushing Saul Goodman.
Could happen several ways..
#1.  Jeff gets caught and she uses her knowledge of the infamous Saul Goodman as a bargaining chip.
Saul/Jimmy made it a specific point to Jeff that his crime was a federal offense. So at the very least, if and when Jeff gets caught Mom could drop 10 years off of baby Jeff’s sentencing by selling them Saul Goodman.. the federal portion of his sentencing.
#2.  REVENGE!  There’s family ties to Albuquerque, there was trouble, “A bad crowd, and Saul Goodman was neck deep inside of a bad crowd.
Patrick Kuby
I didn’t hear any last names for Marion or Jeff so why not Kuby? And Kuby could have been an alias anyway. Would make sense. He was a professional criminal, after all. And he would have gotten into a boat load of trouble WORKING FOR SAUL GOODMAN. So if there is a connection, maybe his mom, maybe Marion is just a little pissed off and wants to see them drop the boom on “Saul Goodman.”
WARNING:  I have not seen ANYONE speculate along those lines, that Marion is related to Patrick Kuby, so take that as you will. But what I have seen speculation on...
Jeff’s brother!
Jeff has/had a brother, he was into drugs (crystal meth?) and crime and possibly even died as a result.
Spooge?
This Season 6 has been moving in some pretty tight circles so if the “Marion has another son caught up in, hurt, potentially killed due to some involvement with drugs” theory is right then Spooge is a good pick. Patrick Kuby is an attractive candidate here but he’s alive, or at least was at the end of Breaking Bad. Spooge had his head crushed. I haven’t seen any speculation regarding Spooge, I’m merely looking for a fit to this “Marion lost a son” theory.
Kim Wexler
So Marion’s son was involved with the most beautiful woman in the world. He was totally smitten, in love. This was it for him, his soul mate, and he followed her to Albuquerque where eventually one Jimmy McGill would move to, meet Kim and steal her away from Marion’s darling son. This crushes the poor guy. He turns to drugs and alcohol for solace. He’s into the “Wrong Crowd” now. There’s crime, they all have to support their habit, and this downfall, this ignoble end can all be laid at the foot of Jimmy McGill aka Saul Goodman.

I’m trying to do a nice series compilation of danmeis to read in time for New Year’s maybe! Anyway also just a note that all the images I use are either from the official manhua, donghua, audio dramas OR official artwork as provided by official China bookstores when they do prints (and have obtained permission from artists on Lofter to use their artwork for merch/prints etc.)
- Part of Min’s ‘Why You Should Read’ Series -
Summary:
Yu She (the one in black) and Zhong Wan (the one in green) were close friends for a short period of time when they were younger, but unfortunately their identities and positions placed them on opposite sides of the fight for the throne (for their parents’ generations). Yu She’s family supported the Second Prince and Zhong Wan was taken in by the Sixth Prince’s family when he was younger, but in the end it was the Second Prince who ended up getting to the throne, while the Sixth Prince was accused of treason and died somewhere far away at war after being captured.
Zhong Wan’s only wish was to keep the Sixth Prince’s children - Xuan Rui and a pair of twins, Xuan Yu and Xuan Congxin - safe, and so he moves them to another province and asks the Emperor (the former Second Prince) to demote Xuan Rui’s status to prove that they are no threat to the Emperor, if only to stay alive for another day.
However, their days of hardship have only just begun in their new home, and Zhong Wan decides to namedrop Yu She, whose family is so powerful now, to make sure that other people will not bully his charges. He claims that Yu She loves him and that he was wooing Zhong Wan back in the days they knew each other so that officials and others would treat the children under his care better. A few years pass and Yu She doesn’t expose Zhong Wan. Zhong Wan thinks they can go on like this forever, until the Emperor asks Xuan Rui and the twins to head back to the palace for a visit.
Zhong Wan meets Yu She again, but the boy he knew, who was gentle, a stickler for rules and a proper, well-mannered person who always got embarrassed and irritated when Zhong Wan flirted with or teased him, has changed almost completely. Cue palace conspiracies again, brothers fighting for the throne, scheming consorts etc. XD
Read:
Novel (Online) | Novel (Print) - August 2020 | Novel Translations | Manhua | Audio Drama
Characters:
1.  钟宛 Zhong Wan - Also called Zhong Gui Yuan (归远) and his childhood nickname is 宝宝 (bao bao = baby), something he’s very embarrassed about. He’s a righteous but outgoing, sometimes flirtatious young man who lost his parents when he was very young, and then was taken in by the Sixth Prince and his wife, who married each other for political reasons and weren’t close until Zhong Wan turned up and got them to interact more with each other, helping them to fall in love, and that’s how he got three more siblings - Xuan Rui, Xuan Congxin and Xuan Yu. The prince and his wife doted on him a lot, but he was very aware always that he was not their son, and after the Sixth Prince was accused and died, he took it on himself to keep the other three children alive by any means possible.
Tumblr media
He spent a month or so in jail after the Sixth Prince was accused of treason as interrogators attempted to torture him into speaking out against the Sixth Prince, but managed to keep silent. Yu She rescued him by paying an exorbitant bail for him (he wouldn’t know about this until later), and he stayed with Yu She for almost half a year until he ‘ran away’ to take care of his three siblings, so to speak.
He starts to fabricate stories about how Yu She likes him, and was wooing him, but they weren’t exactly fake entirely because he extrapolated from actual events (when he tried to tease/flirt with Yu She so he would let him go) that were actually pretty like flirtatious in nature (the both of them are entirely oblivious).
His priority will always be the safety of the children, but when he returns to the Imperial City and realizes that Yu She has changed, he begins to plot to stay at his side, worried about him (and also to rediscover his feelings for Yu She).
Also has a weak body as he was poisoned when he was 15-16 by someone close to him, faints and gets sick frequently in the novel hahaha (I have a type).
2. 郁赦 Yu She - His courtesy name is Zi You (子宥), which Zhong Wang calls him by. He is the only son of Marquis Yu, and was study mates with Zhong Wan when they were younger. After his parents contributed to the downfall of the Sixth Prince (as they supported the Second Prince) and Zhong Wan ends up imprisoned, Yu She pays A LOT OF MONEY to get him out after Zhong Wan is basically put up for sale to anyone who wants him, to keep him safe from those who want to harm/humiliate him (because Zhong Wan is so handsome/beautiful as well).
Tumblr media
He was originally unable to handle Zhong Wan, who keeps teasing him and accusing him of liking him etc., and let Zhong Wan go when he plotted to leave him, understanding that he had a duty to keep the Sixth Prince’s children safe. In the years that Zhong Wan is away, he discovers a secret that causes him to engage in self-destructive behaviour (talking back to the Emperor, ingesting deadly poison etc.), and realizes that his parents are not who he thought they were. He becomes unpredictable, either doing dangerous things, or refusing to do normal things (instead of studying or reading for example, he spends most of his days reading published fanfiction about him and Zhong Wan).
When he first heard of the rumours about him and Zhong Wan, he descends into this spiral of doubt, wondering if what Zhong Wan fabricated was true and if it was his memory that was wrong. He falls sick thinking so hard about the time he spent with Zhong Wan before LMAO, before deciding that he does like Zhong Wan, but until Zhong Wan returned to the city, he never once thought of acting on it.
3. Xuan Rui, Xuan Congxin & Xuan Yu
Xuan Rui is the Sixth Prince’s oldest son and was old enough to be aware of what was going on when his parents died. He’s very timid, paranoid and easily swayed by others, while his younger siblings, six-year old twins Xuan Congxin (left below) and Xuan Yu (right below) were brought up entirely by Zhong Wan, and Congxin in particular is much more mature/steady in personality than her two older brothers, and also knows to always stand on Zhong Wan’s side.
Tumblr media
4. Lin Si - Zhong Wan’s childhood friend who was also brought up by the Sixth Prince and his wife. He’s mute, and a bodyguard of sorts, helping Zhong Wan to gather information from the city while he’s away. After Zhong Wan left with the Sixth Prince’s children, Lin Si stays with the current 4th Prince, and also falls in love with him. It’s unrequited until he kisses the prince and then disappears, leaving the prince to look everywhere for him XD It’s hinted that they do end up together.
Other Things I Like in the Novel:
Zhong Wan’s childhood nickname is 宝宝 lmaooooo and Yu She threatens to torture Lin Si (like about to torture him), and Lin Si was like ‘what does he want to know that he would torture me for it’, then finds out that Yu She is about to hurt him to find out what Zhong Wan’s nickname and he’s like wtf??!!!
Yu She has this steward who was bullied by Zhong Wan a lot while he was staying there with them over that half a year, and is also the biggest Yu She/Zhong Wan shipper even though Zhong Wan was really the troublemaker then
When they find out who the person who poisoned Zhong Wan was, Congxin is the first person to step up for Zhong Wan, and turns against the person who poisoned him
Yu She keeps forcing Zhong Wan to read out their fanfiction novels aloud, much to Zhong Wan’s mortification, but after Zhong Wan realizes he likes Yu She for real, he starts being really forward with his want for him, and it is Yu She who gets embarrassed
Yu She is so embarrassed that he schedules days where Zhong Wan can/cannot touch him, and sets limits to the number of times he can kiss him etc. LMAOOOOO in the beginning of their relationship I frickin died

Saying Goodbye to Flower of Evil
So it's finally here, time to say goodbye to my favourite kdrama so far of 2020. This is my post to say goodbye and also go back on all the positives and negatives of the show. It's been a long, beautiful and heartfelt journey. This show means a lot to me, and I had so much fun analysing it, every single week. Let’s start the review:
Tumblr media
Ratings: Plot: 8.5/10 Directing: 8.5/10 Acting: 8.5/10 Satisfaction: 8/10 Overall: A Rewatch factor: 7/10
Tumblr media
Opinions and Criticisms
What can I say about this show that hasn't already been mentioned and discussed? What an amazing show. At the end of it all, Flower of Evil is a love story to the core, it focuses on the marriage between our main characters, and we the audience end up invested in watching the layers and truth of the marriage unfold, the psychological circumstances and the  external circumstances that lead us to the factors that will end up either breaking the marriage into pieces or end up bringing an opportunity for healing and unconditional love.
Tumblr media
Characterisation
This show in my opinion subverted  character tropes, in the first episode we're left feeling confused about who to root for;  Do Hyun So starts of a scary personality but we start to see him break down and we understand that we didn't have all the information about him. In the first episode we feel the exact worry and fear Ji Won also ends up feeling as  she slowly uncovers her husband is not who he claims to be. But we also like her start to look deeper for clues to help find the real truth about the psyche of Hyun So.
We're introduced to characters at the beginning such as Moo Jin (very ableist at first, and problematic) only to see him become 3D and learn from his mistakes and show care for Hyun So and his ex love Hae So. Like with him, we also feel weary about every character when they first appear, even Hae Su who we even feel led to believe is the mystery serial killer accomplice at the start ends up being a character broken, we see how it actually affected her mind and patterns as the guilt ate her up for what happened to her brother. These are just a few of the characters the audience grapple to understand and start of mistrusting.
Tumblr media
Subverting Expectations
The tropes are subverted because this is a thriller, expectations are thrown out the window and changed, when one of our main cops find out about Hyun So's real identity (the show built this up so well since we know from the beginning  that he's curious and very intuitive with cases), we expect him to take in Hyun So and be prejudiced,. It’s a surprise to see he's not , he listens and understands that Hyun So isn't what everyone thinks he is. The other cops do the same as well when Ji Won is 'held hostage' by Hyun So. They don't blame her immediately as an accomplice and only worry about her safety. The cops end up becoming like a found family, the warmth, loyalty and trust with everyone including the chief was shocking to see, and yet the show made us hang on edge for a while to see these characters stories unfold. Yes they're more 2dimensional than 3D but they are important to the story and end up being characters we love and enjoy on screen.
Tumblr media
I don't have anything bad to say about this show, I even enjoyed the reveal of the villain, Baek Hee Sung, his storyline whilst seemingly making him a very straight forward psychopath, the subtext of the show suggested even more dimensionality and depth to understanding his family's psyche, circumstances and reasonings for why they aided him. He's also a brilliant foil to Do Hyun So who was using his identity without knowing he's the real accomplice we were waiting for. The actors do such a good job in this show, the main couple have great emotional ranges needed to carry the painful, hurtful, alarming scenes. Props to my two favorites, Lee Joon Gi as Do Hyun So was such a perfect casting choice for this show and Kim Ji Hoon as a villain was so delicious to watch, he made me scream and squeal a couple of times. Both so addicting and entrancing to watch on screen.
Lacklustre writing for Females
Tumblr media
Eunha
As much as I am satisfied with the ending I do feel there are parts that a bit lack luster. The use of the daughter in the story of Do Hyun So regaining his memories and choosing to accept Ji Won yet again could have been used more, in fact I thought she was going to run away or do something defiant causing Hyun So to panic and realise he does have feelings and care. (I thought that was what they were building up to when they showed the food in the fridge he kept buying for her without knowing why) But she's pushed to the side, and almost forgotten about until we get a reunion. Eun Ha was such an interesting character to look into and I would have loved more depth and use in the storyline especially when she's connected the most to the humanity of Hyun So. Instead we got the diary scene and the title of the metal workshop being connected to Ji Won and his love for her all along. Don't get me wrong the romance was the basis of the show, so it makes sense we end with it being the most focused part on the conclusion of the show, I just wanted more Eunha.
Do Hae Su
As much as I enjoyed the characters in the show, I felt the female characters apart from Cha Ji Won were written to be very stupid, emotional or just an obstacle to their male counterparts. This irked me for a while, Hae Su's best part is when she sacrifices her life for Hyun So but before that she acts rashly and keeps on doing things that no one wants her to, I almost face palmed when she went straight to the director after finding out someone in his hospital is the accomplice. Like it's not hard to put two and two together. I enjoyed her as a character but did feel like she was underused more than her male counterpart Moo Jin. I'm glad we get her resolution and she survived
Tumblr media
Director’s wife/ Unmother
The director's wife/Baek Hee Sung mother shows potential of being a character with depth and aims, but she also becomes sidelined once her son wakes up, her struggles in her psyche for her new fake son and grand daughter vs her guilt of hurting her real son, was a really good dynamic to explore, but she ends up becoming weak and panicking and being taught by both her male counterparts her son and husband. She just ends up being in the background and seen as the less smart, cunning and clever one compared to them. Didn't really like that, I thought she would be part of the downfall of our villain but she just ends up wasted instead.
The maid of the Baek’s
Don't get me started about her maid, another female character who is fridged on the show, I thought she was written so stupid towards the end for the convenience of the plot, and I hated that she reacted the way she did knowing the truth she knew. Her outburst and blackmail tactics just felt so out of the blue, it annoyed me to no end. I wish she had a reason that was hinted throughout the show, quotes or scenes that hinted she would betray them for money, more depth shown with her relationship with her and the wife, but no she just reacted out of bounds and got murdered. It was just a bit blase.
However I'm not saying this show did not also have powerful women characters, well character, Ji Won was smart, cunning and I enjoyed watching her actions after she discovered who her husband was. But for me I would have preferred more females written the same way she was that's all.
The final moments
I did enjoy the message of the show, especially when looking at what made our characters become/ turn into percieved psychopaths, the connection of Do Min Seok with both Baek Hee Sung and Do Hyun So was interesting to look at, and the way the world treated Hyun So because of his disorder was also painful but written well in the show. One of my favorite scenes in this show, is episode 15, (i wished the show's ending was episode 15, it would have left a haunting effect on the audience but i like happy endings too), when Hyun So proclaims he sees dead people so he can't believe Ji Won is alive. It was a brilliant build up as the ghost of Do Min Seok had been all along a foreshadowing device for this moment, immediately he said that it shocked me and made me realise what the writers planned all along. It was always right there in front of us that this will be an issue, and they used it so well for episode 15.  One of my favourite moments so far in kdramas of 2020.
The message of the show is simple don't judge someone based on their mental disorder, they're just like everyone else if given the right opportunity to feel, and be treated like normal people.
Tumblr media
Analysis and Devices used
Onto the devices used for analysing this show:
The themes
I enjoyed the topic of Psychopathy, Trauma and Mental Health that was relayed through out the show, what makes a psychopath a psychopath nature vs nurture. I enjoyed how each character's needs and wants is revealed to us subverting tropes and keeping the audience questioning the reasonings and truths of each of them.
The parallels
I also liked the directing parallels when they show both Hyun So and Cha Ji Won doing different things but it connected to the actual plot/storyline of the show for example him uncovering who his dad worked with to get raw materials, and she also uncovering a fake employment scheme with the someone connected to the same person who Hyun So is meeting. They do this all the time, and it's a great way to make the audience feel on edge and worried that soon both her and Hyun So's path will have to meet and she will have to confront him on the truth of their marriage.
Tumblr media
The Foreshadowing
There's heavy use of symbolic foreshadowing, dramatic irony and  withholding of information all used to keep the audience on their toes with bated breaths. The genre was part thriller, so each cliff hanger was deviced well enough to show case some realisations (some painful and horrifying) and also used to make the audience go back on their own expectations and wait to see the story unfold. At first the show starts of like a murder detective show, and I liked how each of the murderers/crimes were connected to unveiling the truth about Hyun So and his father.
Some foreshadowing devices I enjoyed is when Ji Won's identity card gets smashed and handed to Hae Su, at first we don't understand why there was such a scene but it uncovers and we find the horrifying conclusion that Hae Su will get stabbed because the killer misunderstands her to be Ji Won. Each of the devices used end up coming full circle in the plot to keep the audience on edge or hurt and broken at the realisation of what it meant. I look foward to watching another show with this writer and director again.
Tumblr media
In Conclusion
This Kdrama surpassed my expectations and even beat my predecessor Psycho but it's okay as my favourite shows. While I did have some issues with parts of it, even with those issues I was left emotionally invested in this show, the characters, the story unfolding. I enjoyed every little thing in this show, I ended up being so effected I cried many times. As a writer, it taught me how to write a good love story, a couple against the world, and how to keep an audience invested.

Yugioh S4 Ep 13: Yugi Dies in California, Makes Everything Awkward
Hey guys. Yugi’s DEAD. (again, but way earlier in a season than I thought he’d be)
So lets get into it.
Last we left off, Pharaoh got imbued with the powers of Lime Green. A green that I swear used to be more Aqua, but seems to sort of shift and change depending on if it’s day or night.
Tumblr media
As a consequence, Yugi now can’t have any communication with Pharaoh. I guess this makes it so now Pharaoh is split with his “light” side but like...both Yugi and Pharaoh have both light and darkness so...I see the metaphor going on, but I don’t think the metaphor actually...worked when you think about all the screwy stuff Yugi has done even without Pharaoh around. So just don’t think about it.
Tumblr media
The big consequence of the Yugi Banishment was more that Yugi wasn’t there to tell Pharaoh how the Oricalchos card works because--and I say this a lot--but Pharaoh doesn’t know how to read.
Pharaoh’s biggest downfall isn’t so much his greed or pride this episode, it’s his goddamn illiteracy. If he took just five seconds to study the fine print then...he wouldn’t have even cast the Oricalchos in the first place. He did it because he wanted to protect his dragon Timaeus on the field, but the Oricalchos made Timaeus immediately disappear so...Pharaoh cast this for no reason other than the plot really wanted him to do it.
Just kinda shocking that Pharaoh, of all people, made such a huge card mistake when he’s supposed to be from where all cards came from. Then again, he’s separated from Yugi who I guess had more card input than I realized, because the rest of this episode is just Pharaoh playing kind of like a dumbass.
Tumblr media
And on the voice acting side, the guy who plays Pharaoh had to try and talk even deeper--which was kind of funny when he’s already as deep as he can go. So...it just seems like Season 1 Pharaoh to me, except he laughs more.
TBH Pharaoh was WAY more rude to PaniK than he ever was to Rafael.
(read more under the cut)
Meanwhile, Rex and Weevil have joined the pack.
Tumblr media
Only to be hassled by the pack.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And so, since this is a show about cards, how do you make Pharaoh look like a bad person when he...always plays cards, and is usually a good person for doing this same card playing thing?
Tumblr media
And as the person in charge of the Death Count, sorry Yugi, that doesn’t even make sense to me. If you’re telling me that JUST NOW cards are suddenly real and not 10+ episodes ago, and if you’re telling me that all of the other times Dark Magician Girl died didn’t count?
If I had to count every time that a card died when I’m pretty sure they were real then we would also have to count most Bakura duels, probably that Pegasus duel, any Shadow game, really, and like...I don’t want to do the math so I am not counting Dark Magician Girl, y’all.
She was alive at the end of this episode, and as far as I’m concerned, her prime function--the reason she exists--is to die a lot. She’s a card, that’s what they do, and I doubt she even felt bad about it. Like...I don’t think the cards are mortal. Does that make sense? I just...maybe it hurt her but like...does she care? She’s a god in this universe.
You can’t kill Zeus. And like maybe people can hassle Zeus but like it would be maybe the sensation of an itch to Zeus if you stab him directly through the throat--that’s how I feel about Dark Magician Girl. She can take a beating and won’t even know it’s happening. Girl is freakin Zeus.
Tumblr media
A lot of this Rafael arc is about making a false reality to justify your actions. Rafeal’s was a pretty extreme case involving cards that are angels and that are still cards...or something. Pharaoh’s was “I’ll be fine, I’ve always been fine, I’m very good at this, I’m the exception to every rule.” which is a much more approachable and relatable fake reality than Rafael.
Thing is, Pharaoh’s not entirely wrong. That’s usually true for him. He usually is the exception to every rule bending RNG to his every whim. Like there’s a reason why he took the chance on the Oricalchos, it really should’ve worked out.
And TBH, would have liked to see Pharaoh do this for longer than one episode, especially since him going his brand of cray only lasted during a card game, which I don’t really watch anyway. But eventually all good things must end, and it catches up to him when he realizes the horror he has wrought.
Spoiler, it’s not that horrifying.
Like for reals, I have seen Pharaoh do some THINGS and maybe this is a sign I’ve seen too much Yugioh when I’m like “lol Pharaoh went nuts and that was it???”
I cannot believe he did not pull out even so much as a single knife this entire episode. The hatchets are right there. Then again, his puzzle powers don’t really work in the Oricalchos realm so he has to play normie style. But knives are pretty normie. I feel like Pharaoh should have pulled out some sort of makeshift brain teaser involving knives, but youknow, this season is very much more for kids than previous seasons of Yugioh.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Again, what he did to Panik is about 1000x worse than making a Halloween Kuriboh.
But, now that all the cards he sacrificed to the Shadow Realm are being resurrected and used against him, he looks into the blank face of Dark Magician Girl and accepts his defeat.
Tumblr media
Which is very similar to what happened to Kaiba in the earlier seasons of this show. Pharaoh got Pharaoh’d.
But...while it is a throwback, heaven forbid that this show used a real ass human as a stand in for Dark Magician Girl in this scene. Could’ve had just any actual person standing around here to make Pharaoh realize a change of heart--maybe even the kid he banished in his head? But nah.
It was Dark Magician Girl for this emotional beat.
I mean we are watching Yugioh but lol, that was a decision the writing team made. Joey Wheeler’s right over there. Maybe remove Tea from that RV? No? Want to use Dark Magician Girl instead? OK then.
Anyway, now that Pharaoh was shamed enough by a paper card to remember how to be slightly more human, Yugi holds his Puzzle high over his head and screams “BY THE POWER OF THE MILLENNIUM PUZZLE!” or something and does his own brand of magic. Surprise, it’s punching stuff.
Punching stuff is always the answer.
Tumblr media
So apparently the puzzle is more powerful than Oricalchos. Which we basically knew the whole time, I mean...Pharaoh got possessed by Oricalchos and all it did was make him play cards.
I can’t believe no one got set on fire that entire sequence.
So, since the Oricalchos demanded a soul, Yugi figured out a loophole.
Tumblr media
And again, another Yugioh game was ended by someone threatening to kill himself, and this time it was Yugi. Who died so that Pharaoh’s yummy soul would not resurrect the Great Leviathan.
Because, while Yugi may be a soul-copy and somewhat reincarnation of the Pharaoh? Or something? He’s still not yummy enough. Not yummy enough for that Leviathan tummy.
Which lead to this great scene that I’m sure you’d remember vividly if you ever saw it even once. This is so unexpected and wild and everyone should see it.
This is moments following a very heavy death in the show--Pharaoh’s lowest point--and it is just SO JARRING AND FUNNY in context. I don’t think they meant it to be that way but I had to rewind like 8 times.
First off, enjoy this wtf helicopter, and then...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Wow.
A+ animation, I would never have been so bold as to do drop Pharaoh like a sack of potatoes from 50 feet in the air right after killing Yugi Muto on screen. 10/10. Amazing.
And after it happens, Duke kinda looks over and has the gall to ask... “Are you guys all right?” It’s just...
Wow.
I’m applauding at my computer, I am so glad that whole sequence exists. I’ll probably lift it eventually just to have.
And then the rest of this episode is Pharaoh trying to tell everyone what happened but Everyone still doesn’t quite get it, despite how wildly blunt Pharaoh is.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Cue the endless crying, because if this show loves anything, it’s men in eyeliner openly weeping into the dirt at their feet. Thankfully, Yugi had the foresight to get waterproof mascara, because if he’s gonna die, he doesn’t want Yami to blow up that perfectly cut stiletto heel line.
MAN I am so jealous of this teenage boy’s makeup.
And since I asked the void nicely for Yugioh to be in PAD, and now that PAD put Yugioh in there as if it heard me, I will now turn my attention to Sephora.
Please, Sephora, make me a Yugioh makeup line that is waterproof as hell so I can ugly cry in the hottest desert in America and still not smudge, thx.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand Yugi Muto is officially dead!
Didn’t expect that, being real.
Wow.
Really I thought that they would die if ever they ever got separated, but apparently Pharaoh is fine he just...lacks his Yugi half that knows how to read stuff and had a slightly longer attention span.
I can’t believe they cured Yugi of his curse! Congrats, Yugi! You are no longer possessed!
Y’all. Lets just appreciate the Yugioh Episode 13 curse for a bit.
First episode 13, Bakura killed everyone with like no warning
Second Episode 13 was Ankle-slicing Bandsaw Clown
Third Episode 13 Noah revealed he was Seto’s Secret Already Dead Brother trying to take over Seto’s body
Fourth Episode 13 Yami finally managed murdering Yugi.
Like I dunno if they planned for all 13s to be all the WTF ones, but I’m glad it’s managed so far. I should’ve known when I started this episode that it was a 13, but I just...I just forgot.
Really thought Yami was going to survive this one and we’d have to bury Rafael on this mesa. Lucky for them and the local police, it’s just paranormal murder today.
Anyway...there’s like a lot more episodes of this season left and I don’t know where it’s going anymore. Should be fun. At the rate we’re going, we’re gonna take a bike ride over to New York City to do more card games on the desert Mesas of NYC. Lets see how long Yugi will remain dead.
Maybe next episode Pharaoh will just throw on a bedsheet and Rebecca’s shower sandals so he can go full Egyptian Era? Maybe the eyeliner will be drawn all the way to his freakin ears? Y’all what if he gets really into beads and gold now?
(and if you just got here, this is a handy link to read all of these recaps in chrono order. There’s a lot of them.)

A Wild Ride
Klaroline AU Week: Day Three (October 9th - Wednesday): All Human
This is totally a bit rushed and I will probably have to do sneaky edits later, but I managed to get this done. I’ll take it.
The carriage wheels bounced painful over a screaming Damon Salvatore. For a single heartbeat, Caroline considered regretting her impulsive choice of shoving him out the door. But he had been bleeding and she refused to let him ruin this dress after everything else he’d left in shambles in her life. Thankfully, her companion had realized her intention and his firm grip kept her from tumbling out of the carriage with Damon.
Glancing across the carriage once the door was firmly shut, Caroline righted herself and glared at her remaining companion. “Your brother is a menace.”
Sir Klaus Mikaelson’s brow lifted as his gaze swept her disheveled figure, and Caroline arranged her skirts, pointedly ignoring the heat in his eyes. “You’ll find no disagreement from me, love. Still, I cannot imagine even he thought you’d reduce Salvatore to carrion pickings in such a dramatic fashion when we are driving at such… speed.”
She scoffed, refusing to let his words, the glint of admiration in his gaze, affect her. The hint of dimple in his cheek said he might have seen something anyway. “Should I have waited for you to deal with the situation? Difficult, with one arm.”
His mouth tightened in displeasure at the reminder of his injury. Since he’d received the stab wound unnecessarily defending her only a few weeks ago, she supposed she could stop needling him about it. Particularly when their acquaintance had become quite profitable. Or it would, as long as they’d stayed just out of the reach of the local Sheriff.
Damon being the last bit of a plot that had taken them the better part of a month to execute. But now their last enemy was dead, and all their plans had all come to fruition. Caroline wiggled back against the hard bench, and tried not to wince at another hard bounce of the carriage.
While her numerous skirts added a layer of cushion, but Kol was driving at breakneck speeds. And while she approved of putting a fair amount of distance between them and the body they’d left behind, she hardly wished for a broken bone to go along with their escape. It would be weeks before a Marshall was brought in to hunt them, and they would all be long gone by then.
The tight set to Klaus’ jaw said the jolts also hurt his arm, but she’d learned he’d only allow so much fussing, as he rudely insisted on calling her concern. Since she’d already pointed out his limitations once and preferred to fight with him when she wasn’t in danger of losing teeth, she supposed she could keep from mentioning his injury. Again.
“Besides,” she dared after a moment. “He deserved a far more ignoble death. It’s a pity we couldn’t provide one.”
A tip of his head, as Klaus agreed with her. She’d been quite clear about her reasons for wanting Damon’s death. His murder had been a very firm requirement in her bargain. Thankfully, the Mikaelson brothers were far from squeamish.
Underneath them, the carriage finally slowed a hair and they were no longer in quite so much danger of being tossed about. Relaxing now that she no longer needed to brace herself so firmly, Caroline glanced out the window, wondering what lay before them.
She hadn’t expected to feel so… disappointed once the adventure had ended. Oh, they still had a far but to go before they went their separate ways. Klaus had been dropping unsubtle hints about escorting her as far as Boston should she wish it. Kol has minutes far to many innuendos, but she had long since learned how to tune him out.
Sir Klaus and Sir Kol Mikaelson has been an unexpected addition to her life. The night they'd interceded when they’d thought she’d needed their help, they’d claimed they were looking for their brother. A Duke who had left the family in dire straights with his abandonment. They’d apparently done a fine job of faking his death in good old England, but wanted to confirm the job done.
She’d been quite surprised when it turned out that the brother was a Duke in truth, off plotting the downfall of his family with his American mistress. Somehow she allowed them to tangle her in their schemes, and in turn they’d provided the aid in hunting she’d been lacking.
Not quite a month later, and Finn lay cooling in his grave. Damon Salvatore would be a meal to whatever creature found him first. And as an added bonus, the gold they had stored beneath their benches would make them quite wealthy.
“An unfortunate ending,” Klaus said finally into the growing silence between them. “but an ending nonetheless. But tell me, Caroline. With our scheme coming to an end, what are your plans?”
She turned and frowned. “What do you mean?”
Klaus’ brow tilted, amusement in his eyes. “You’ve been rather quiet about your intentions now that you’ve had your revenge, love. Surely a quiet life back East doesn’t appeal to you after you’ve tasted so much freedom.”
Caroline studied him with narrowed eyes. She did not believe that Klaus intended to betray her now. Not after everything else this past month. Their uneasy alliance hadn’t truly developed into something like trust, but she saw where it could become a partnership. If she wanted it too.
“Perhaps,” she agreed easily enough. “Home would be a bit… sedate. But far less likely that my brand new wealth will lead to bloodshed or my neck in a noose.”
His mouth tightened. “It is unlikely anyone left alive could give a good description of you.”
She laughed. “I am hardly the only pretty blonde, though my sudden blessing of money could be a bit difficult to explain. Though a dead husband is something many wives have in common with me so far west. And you? Back to the chill of your English Hills?”
“There is unfinished business yet,” Klaus agreed. “A few more promises to keep.”
She nodded. “And then back to the boring life of a gentleman, I imagine.”
He made a low noise. “I doubt Elijah would allow either of us to be so underfoot. And neither Kol nor myself are likely to settle. While we should perhaps make ourselves scarce from your most charming of continents for some time, there are other fortunes in different cities to find.”
It was a strain to keep her jealousy off her face at his words. She spoke a smattering of French, had gleaned a fair bit of Spanish during her hunt for Damon. But the life he spoke of, moving from city to city and plundering what they found, that was far more difficult for her. There would be no cover of a mail order bride to aid her as she moved about once she left the west.
Though being a supposed widow would help.
Klaus’ lips curved, something tempting and coaxing about his gaze. “You could come with us.”
Her brows rose as she didn’t try to hide her surprise. “Why on earth would you want that?”
“Your clever,” he said immediately. “Quick on your feet and mean, when the mood takes you. I’d much rather have you on my side than find myself working against you one day.”
“Have you thought this through?” Caroline asked in exasperation. “The West is a bit more… lax, about certain matters, but there is no good reason for a single woman to be traveling with two brothers. Whatever would we tell people?”
A lift of his good shoulder. “That’s easily fixed with a minister, love.”
Her expression turned scandalized. “You want to pretend to be married? We already tried that and it was a full disaster.”
Caroline was extremely particular about her space and having Klaus invade it had been… daunting. Twice, they’d been forced to share a room and it’d been an experience. She’d never been so close to a man before. Waking to Klaus, sleep-warm and long limbed, the firmness of his body taking up most of the space on a mattress that hadn’t been nearly large enough…
Keeping to herself had been far more difficult than she have through. The temptation to touch him, to see what the steady strength of him, injured or not, had felt like beneath her fingers had been heady. That he was deviously clever had been a delightful bonus.
Klaus’ laugh was deep chested, but the gleam behind his eyes was intent. “I didn't plan on it being fake.”
Her spine stiffened. “And this is your idea of a proposal?”
The crease of his dimple deepened. “So it is the manner of my asking that offends you, but not the offer?”
Caroline glared at him. “Why would I marry you? I haven’t even decided if I like you yet.”
“Now, Caroline. We know that isn’t entirely true.”
She refused to blush at the dip in his voice. The reminder of those moments where the air between them had grown warm and filled with tension she’d had no words for.  Not wanting to discuss any of it just then, she lifted her chin.
“You haven’t answered my question.”
“Why would you marry me?” Klaus repeated. The curve of his smile turned wicked. “I can think of a number of reasons. But to start, it gives you a way off this continent.”
She waved a dismissive hand. “I don’t need you for that. I’m certain I’d find a way on my own, eventually.”
Loud laughter from the front of the carriage told her that Kol was avidly listening. She was amazed he hadn’t butted in with his two cents. Kol enjoyed little more than needling everyone.
“That,” she said in exasperation and with mostly false irritation while she glanced towards where Kol would sitting. “Is quite the detriment.”
“You know you adore me!”
Caroline rolled her eyes and leaned back. Klaus wore the familiar expression of exasperation and the low simmer of his temper. It was a look she knew he wore most frequently around Kol. But for all of her exaggerated complaining, the younger of the two had become something like a friend. Albeit a very annoying one.
Still.
She wasn’t sure she was ready to let this go. Running her teeth along her lip, she made an impulsive decision. Damon was dead, her mother’s ghost put to rest. For once, her future was about her.
And maybe that could include Sir Klaus Mikaelson.
“You have until we reach Boston.”
Klaus’ brows creased with a hint of confusion. “To do what, love?”
“To convince me that I want to marry you.” She narrowed her eyes in warning. “And to plan a far better proposal than your last attempt.”
The sound of Kol’s uproarious laughter did nothing to stop the rising flush in her cheeks at the sudden glean behind Klays’ gaze. The way his gaze dipped to trace her mouth before returning to her wide eyes.
“With pleasure, Caroline.”

Kill the Dragon, Kill the Soul: Why Daenerys’ Gaslighting Hurts.
It’s no secret that the ending to S8 has received a ... mixed response, to say the least. For the most part, Episodes 1-2 and to a point 3 were well received. Episode 3 had good moments, but felt lacking in certain areas, the battle tactics were panned as well as the overall lighting of the scene, and disappointment that the Night King was stopped at Winterfell (and Arya being the one to land the killing blow).
However, true disappointment did not fully reign until Episode 4, and Episodes 5-6 being a crashing disappointment for myself and many other fans, depending on what we were angry with in terms of writing. While I could talk about how much various characters were either butchered, rendered moot, or simply given nothing to do, I want to talk about the handling of Daenerys, and why in particular her gaslighting through the last 3 episodes in particular struck a nerve.
The Targaryen dynasty have a particular history with mental health issues, ranging from outright insanity, to more mild, and a lot of this is blamed on the incestuous marriage that the family practices to varying degrees of closeness, ranging from brother-sister to niece-uncle. Targaryens could be brilliant, or could be cruel, and a common saying is that ‘when a Targaryen is born, the Gods flip a coin’. It was also noted that Targaryen madness was a late-onset condition; Daenerys’ father Aerys was not mentally unwell at the start of his rule, but his mental health deteriorated during his reign. In terms of the last Targaryens, Daenerys herself seemed to be a coin toss. Her eldest brother, Rhaegar, was said to be kind, noble, and the very best a Prince should be. It’s unknown how he would have developed had he not been killed at the Trident, given his father, but nothing suggests underlying conditions. Viserys, the infamously golden-crowned ‘begger king’ was noted by Daenerys in the novels to not be cruel at first, but suffered declining mental health as years of poverty and struggle took a toll on him, and he began mentally and emotionally abusing his little sister. This manifested in delusions of grandeur, an explosive temper, and taking out his frustrations on Daenerys, culminating in his murder at the hands of Khal Drogo for both breaking the rules of Vaes Dothrak, but also threatening the life of Daenerys and their unborn baby.
Daenerys, at the start of the series, was a shy and timid young woman, afraid of her brother and her new arranged marriage. Over the course of the first season, she grows into her position of Khaleesi, learns self-confidence, takes control in her relationship with Khal Drogo, and asserts herself over her own brother. When he tries to physically assert his dominance over her, she is either defended by the Dothraki (via a whip to his throat), or directly (with a heavy gold belt to the face). The latter shocks Viserys deeply, and her own temper over his assault showing her own dragon’s blood for the first time. I do not think her coldness over his death meant she was ‘insane’. Rather, the way she realised that he was a pathetic, lowly man who couldn’t lead an army even if Khal Drogo gave him one was shown on her face as she translated for Khal Drogo. Viserys had threatened her unborn child, had directly threatened to cut it out to her face, and as such, she completely cut out this abusive figure from her life for not only her sake, but for her baby’s sake.
Daenerys feels strongly about rape and unnecessary violence. While she has the line ‘I do not have a gentle heart’, she did have one and does have one for the weak and the defenceless. From trying to protect women from Dotharki rape, to ordering the children be unharmed when she took over the Unsullied, she shows a clear sense of moral right. Even if that moral right puts her at odds with others (i.e. the Dothraki, who were clearly angry at being denied the right to rape, and the various Masters, whose slaves she sought to free). Despite keeping the pretence that she did not understand Valyrian to Kraznys mo Nakloz (the Good Master who sold her the Unsullied and was roasted alive by Drogon for his insults), she still tried to prevent him from cutting off the nipple of an Unsullied soldier when he demonstrated their fearlessness. While she took the Unsullied by trickery, she offered them the chance to be free, and gave them the right to change their demeaning names. Grey Worm, their elected Commander, chose to keep his and she respected his decision.
Essos is a land of might, not of honour and justice, at least in the eyes of Daenerys. For as often as she has tried peace and freedom, the more brutal Essos traditions often seek to undermine her and ensure that her unwanted changes are a temporary annoyance. When she pursues a more direct, violent path (personally burning down the Wise Masters’ forces when they attack Meereen in her absence), she has more success. After years of dealing with harsh and bloody retaliation for her seeking freedom for the downtrodden, her heart is hard when it finally reaches Westeros. Had Jon, and by extension, the entire North met Daenerys when she was still intent on freeing slaves, it would have been a smoother introduction. Weary of always being met with blood and insults, she was ready with coldness and asserting her authority to the humble - and very tired - Jon. Still, she was willing to listen, and measured her responses when needed.
Daenerys has done everything that has been asked of her since coming to Westeros, and has reached great feats. She reached an agreement with Yara Greyjoy, in exchange for naval experience, that she would allow a free Iron Islands, on the condition that rape and pillage was not continued. This is in keeping with her character, as rape and pillage was not something she tolerated well with the Dothraki, and she realises that the Iron Islands, with their superior naval might, could become the best traders in Westeros, replacing the uncertainty of pillage with steady and good trade. When she learns that Yara wishes to be Queen, but needs support in her claim (and Theon discounts himself as an heir), she sympathises with another Queen seeking freedom, and accepts the alliance. It could have been an exceptionally fruitful arrangement, had Daenerys either taken the throne or disbanded it in the name of the land governing itself in smaller portions under local rulership, ‘breaking’ the wheel’. This scene hinted that Daenerys would get rid of the Iron Throne and its poisonous thrall over the land, breaking up one seat for smaller governments, perhaps elected by smallfolk or even simply regional Kings. She gained support from Dorne via Ellaria Sand, and Ellaria’s words ‘weak men will never again rule Dorne’ suggests she was going to rule herself (it’s unclear; the Dorne plot is a sore point).
She was asked for Dragonglass. She gave it. She was asked to fight for the War for the Dawn instead of taking King’s Landing. She did so. She saved Jon’s life and helped in the Dragonpit meeting, even if it amounted to nothing and she could have simply burned Cersei right there and claim the throne. She fought personally in the Battle for Winterfell, along with her forces. She has done everything advised of her. She has put up with the snide comments of Sansa Stark and the North ...
And the result is that she is told she is mad, will be mad, will be cruel, will not share power with Jon?
FUCK. OFF.
The Targaryens are ruthless, this is a known point of the family. However, Daenerys tempered her fire with kindness, and is known to be merciful when called upon. Take advantage of her kindness, however, and suffer the fire. Being in the cut-throat world of Essos has made this a shorter route, since a woman can only be called a whore, a slut, and threatened with death and rape so many times before she stamps down her enemies. A firm but gentle hand would have been good for Westeros, and her known concern for the smallfolk would have, again, stood her in good stead. Orlenna Tyrell told her to ‘be a dragon’, and at the time I wasn’t sure if the Queen of Thorns was trying to sow Daenerys’ own downfall in advance; it seems she was warning her to fire first, and then heal with kindness afterwards.
The greater point is that she has never committed acts of savagery without provocation. She calmly listened to the Khals in Vaes Dothraki casually discuss raping her and dismissing her views, before turning on them, but again gave them a clear choice; submit, or die. When met with even more hostility, she calmly and desicevly fought against those who were her clear and direct enemies. Unlike Cersei, she didn’t slaughter the Khals without the option of submitting to her. And she didn’t slaughter anyone else in the crossfire either. Weight has been given to her execution of Randyll and Dickon Tarly, painting this moment as her turn to ‘madness’. However, this amazing post details the reasons why this logic is, quite frankly, bullshit and how she was more than merciful to a family that has turned more times than can be counted, and has threatened to murder a son and heir for simply being a ‘disappointment’.
For someone who is mad, only wants power, and will stop at nothing to get it, Daenerys sure does listen to others’ advice, disregard those whose advice is gradually getting worse, and put her own plans on hold to fight the War for the Dawn. Sansa Stark has been nothing but bitter and angry ever since Daenerys came to Winterfell, seeing the blonde Dragon Queen as some foreign invader intent on taking back Winterfell, and it takes Missendei to remind her in the crypts of the fact Daenerys is outside fighting the battle whilst Sansa hides down below with the bones of her ancestors. Yes, not everyone can fight, but the fact she chooses to spend that moment disrespecting their greatest ally, who more than doubled the forces of the living and brought two massive war machines in the form of Dragons, is simply a cunty thing to do.
Good to see Catlyn Tully’s blood is alive in her.
The fact she pushed the North’s agenda during what should be the fight for the dawn annoyed Daenerys, as it should. While Sansa not falling for small flattery was in-character, she should have at least found some common ground with Daenerys, least of all because this is her brothers’ girlfriend and their greatest ally for the moment. Since Daenerys already spoke with Yara about a free Iron Islands, asking for Northern independence wouldn’t have been out of the question, had Sansa waited until the fight was over and Daenerys was in the frame of mind about freaking the wheel. Disrespecting Daenerys, and being a complete bitch to her face, only hardened the Queen’s heart, and served to make it clear that Sansa would fight Daenerys for power, something Daenerys did not want. There could even have been the clean and clear solution of Jon, as King in the North, marry Daenerys, Queen of Dragonstone, and have a beneficial alliance that way. Sansa could rule as, essentially, Prime Minister under her brother, Daenerys has her ancestral seat and a home for her dragons, and the Kingdoms are free to choose their own rulers.
Episode 4 is where the constant and depressing gaslighting truly sets in. Daenerys feels alone and unwanted as the feast roars on, everyone praising just about everyone else besides her. Her dragon and her forces fought for these people, who only seem to care about Northern heroics and the feats of Jon. Not helping is the fact she has lost Jorah, and her circle grows smaller. Legitimising Gendry, though framed as a way to gain a new ally, spoke more to the idea that she was forgiving, and - in the same vein as Jon - was not going to blame the children for the sins of their parents. Jon felt the weight of his father’s supposed infidelity all his life, and Daenerys felt the weight of her father’s crimes on her shoulders. Pointedly, as Sansa brought up the death of her grandfather and uncle at the hand of Aerys. [Daenerys’ attitude towards Jaime does not factor in here; Jaime directly killed Aerys himself] Daenerys rewarded Gendry for his critical help in the Battle for Winterfell, and it was fully justified. It also served to show that she was merciful, and would reward those for their merit, not simply their heritage. Gendry has no real right to Storms End, but his cource and work justified the title, and he has become the new Lord Baratheon. Could he have become a new King of Storms? We don’t know; he might have been daunted by such a position, and she could have offered to share help with him or suggest he hire wise men to help him lead the land.
Begging Jon, however cringey it was to see a powerful woman beg, was a sign that she didn’t want to ahve evertyhing she was working for simply handed to soemone else due to the qualification of having a cock. This was something that any woman of nobility should have felt, and was a key point in Cersei’s bitterness over male preference in Westeros. She shouldn’t have had to contest the Goddman throne with Jon; he didn’t want it, she didn’t want this knowledge destroying their relationship, and most important, THAT KIND OF KNOWLEDGE IS DANGEROUS. This is whyu I felt that Sansa was bitterly, horribly out of character for making such knowledge public knowledge; it came across as wanting to both be rid of Daenerys, and to get the North free as soon as possible. In any case, her sudden rush south is understandable, given how unwelcome she feels in the North, and how people already seem to be making moves to give the crown to Jon. She may have intended to ‘break the wheel’, but her plans cannot work if someone gets rid of her - very probably terminally - to place someone else on the Pointy-Ass Chair. So. ‘The snap’. The moment she took King’s Landing and the Lannister forces surrended, this should have been a perfect moment for her. She achieved her goal with minimal civilian casualties, Cersei’s forces are obliterated, she just has to capture the Lion Cunt herself. The ‘snap’ was so forced it was disgusting, the voices making it even worse. She has shown no signs of mental imbalance, aside from grief over the death of Jorah, Rhaegal and Missendei. The ‘hard look’ after Missendei’s death was one of ‘she will not surrender, she must die for the crown to be free’. It probably gave her memories of the crucified children, an attempt to scare her off and anger her when the Masters of Essos did not want her freeing their livestock (slaves). It does not justify Varys, Tyrion, even Jon calling her mental state into question. Every single season, prior to S8 Ep4, Daenerys was clearheaded, firm, hardened by Essos but possessing a gentle heart for those whom she considered downtrodden, innocent or vurnerable. She had absolutly no reason to start blowing apart King’s Landing; the smallfolk had not jeered her, they had not come to attack her, they hadn’t seemingly reacted much to her arrival. The awe her dragons invoke in people could have seen her welcomed, her near-bloodless (in terms of civilians) conquest could have sown the seeds for a fantastic start to her reign and dismantling of the wheel, before going on to free the slaves of the world. While she could have missed Missendei, and Grey Worm, she probably would have seen it a fitting reward to their years of service and loyalty, and even offered to visit and host them in her future home (Dragonstone or otherwise) should they want to visit her.
SHE COULD HAVE HAD IT ALL.
But, no. Constantly told, without provocation, over and over again how she will grow mad and be a cruel tyrant, and have horrible writing force a snap at the sound of a bell, it was ripped away and she was cast as the final final villain for all of half an episode to justify Jon slaughtering her. A man practically coerced into murdering her, a man who has only ever murdered enemies, and knows the power and pain of being backstabbed.
And what was the result of the death of the Dragon Queen?
The wheel remains. The North is free only because the King is the brother of the Queen. The Iron Islands remains the Crown’s property. The Targaryens are now extinct. Everyone got a happy ending.
Except, now, the beautiful Dragon Queen. Gaslit to death, told she will be mad and bad like her father despite everything she has done to show she is merciful. Asked little in return for her terrible losses in fighting for a Westeros that didn’t care for her. She was betrayed, broken, and could only count on her son and her Unsullied.
As someone with a history of mental health issues, this is honestly a disgusting thing to see. I have personally been gaslit, I’ve been asked if my being impatient or angry is a result of my mental health condition, being asked ‘have you taken your pills’, being told about the suicide rates and self-harm rates associated with my condition. It makes you afraid, afraid of yourself, terrified despite a shown history of not behaving a certain way. It places a burden, a guilt by association, a guilt that your emotions are not justified because of your own brain. Can I not be angry at a late train, or must it be because of the irrational anger present in BPD? Can I not cut someone out of my life for being toxic, or must it be ‘splitting’? To see someone as great as Daenerys reduced to her family’s blood is disgusting, and goes against an ongoing theme in the show that you are more than your heritage (Jon, when he thought he was Ned’s bastard) or your past actions (Jaime, before the show killed THAT).
Long live Queen Daenerys I of Dragonstone, the Backstabbed, the Betrayed, the Slaughtered Lamb of Westeros.
Fuck Season 8.

Chapter 2

Bulma was shaking.
Her hands ceased their useless struggles against her binds as everything within her leapt in elated disbelief at what she realized she had found.
Vegeta… her dear Vegeta, was alive.
“I- I… I can’t believe it,” she stuttered, lips quivering amidst the flow of tears down her cheeks. “Vegeta… it’s you, isn’t it?”
He looked the same and yet so different, and the changes notwithstanding, Bulma could not possibly have been mistaken.
The boyish bangs were gone, leaving a sharp, severe widow’s peak that led up into the familiar tempered flames of his dark hair.
His face – though essentially the same – had lost its round, cherubic aura, and had gained defined, patrician angles. His dark, narrow eyes were intense, accentuated by his thick brows that slashed down sharply, contrasting with plump lips that were currently twisted in thinly-veiled contempt.
He tensed, looking away from her while she continued to stare, helplessly swept away by her rioting emotions.
“I knew it. Even in the dark… before I saw you. Something in me told me that I knew who you were,” she rambled on, her elation blinding her to the turmoil of the man before her. “My friend, my best friend!”
His eyes simply glared in response, and at that, Bulma’s brows furrowed in confusion.
Why did he seem so… different?
Closed-off… So aloof, angry…
“I don’t understand,” she whispered, unconsciously moving forward, wanting to touch him… make sure that he was real. “You were dead! We buried you… I cried for months-”
“They buried the body of a homeless child. It was not me in the casket,” he finally responded.
Bulma smiled, her heart thumping in excitement once again. “This is great! My father... He took over the Saiyan Mansion, you know. You can live there again, it’s in great shape because Dad took care of that place-”
“Of course he did,” Vegeta suddenly cut her off with a hiss, taking her aback.
Bulma frowned deeply. “What do you mean? Vegeta…”
“Stop speaking to me with such familiarity,” he growled, and Bulma’s jaw snapped shut with a click.
“But… why? I do know you. Vegeta-”
“And stop saying my name that way,” he said, face now twisted in enough fury to make her recoil away from him. “You may have known me as a child, but believe me, woman, I am not the same friend from before. The child you knew might as well have truly been dead.”
Her jaw fell slack in shock.
“Why… why are you doing this?” she asked. “What are you even saying? I… I don’t understand…”
Bulma leaned forward slightly, trying to look at his face, to see into the eyes of the beloved friend that she had cherished so much her whole life.
“Please? Tell me…” she tried again. “You’re alive, and I am so happy that you are, but-”
“But what?” he asked, and Bulma sat straight up when he finally turned to her again.
She was utterly shocked at the amount of rage, the hatred, that she saw burning in his eyes.
“But what, woman?” he asked again. “But why, how, am I alive? Wouldn’t you like to know?”
She sat unmoving, in denial over the resentment that she could feel from his every word.
He had pulled himself up, and he loomed over her, his wide shoulders intimidating her, his fists shaking as if he was trying his hardest to keep from lashing out at her.
“I almost did end up dead. But I lived. I survived. And it is no thanks to you, the Briefs,” he said, his tone dripping with malice.
Bulma’s lower lip quivered as true terror began to make its way into her heart.
“You’re… you’re scaring me,” she whispered.
“And you are right to be afraid, because I am here now, I am back,” he answered, “to claim what should have always been mine.”
Bulma was stunned. She could not understand his anger, his resentment, and she definitely was astounded by how it all seemed to be directed at her and her father.
“Why are you saying these things to me? Why did you need to abduct me?” she asked, desperately trying to understand his motives. She refused to believe that her friend had become so…
Malicious…
Desperate to get through to him, she leaned forward, eyes begging. “Do you need help? I know lawyers who can help you with your estate. You don’t need to force me to help, Vegeta. I will do anything to help you.”
“Tch,” he scoffed. “You think I need your help? No, I need the information that your father is withholding from me. What I want, what I need, is vengeance, for what he had done to my family.”
She tensed.
There it was again… that very vital piece of information that her father had kept secret at the expense of her own life.
He had left her to die, all to keep the Syndicate’s secrets…
In the face of the realization of her father’s carelessness and Vegeta’s clear hatred of her, Bulma felt despair begin to swallow her whole, feeling sick to her stomach as she began to truly understand that something was very, very wrong.
The information… was it linked to Vegeta’s parents?
What was Vegeta talking about?
“Your family? Then why are you going after my father?” she asked, trying to piece together all the half-truths hat she had dealt with for the past hour. “Dad tried to help you... He tried to get to you, and to your brothers, but he was too late. He was so devastated when he found out that your parents had been killed-”
“Shut up!” he yelled, turning to fully face her, one hand in a tight fist as the other shook convulsively around his grip on the gun.
She backed away, eyes trained on the weapon.
Would he actually hurt her? Kill her?
The hopeful part of Bulma, the one that held on to the memory of the innocent boy who had once played under the sun with her, fiercely believed that he would not.
Yet, the rational part of her, the one currently looking at the furious man sitting mere inches from her, holding a gun with the safety clicked off, knew that he just may be capable of anything that he will need to do just to get the information he needed.
Her attention was pulled away from the gun when he started speaking again, but it was not just his guttural voice that arrested her notice, but also the words that spilled angrily from his lips.
“It was your father who plotted our downfall,” he said, and Bulma shuddered in denial, even while a part of her suspected that Vegeta may be right.
“But no matter,” he went on. “Trunks Briefs may hold the secret to finding him, but we will get our answers, one way or another. We, the Saiyans, will rise again.”
Bulma was confused. “What do you mean, finding him? Who are you looking for?”
Vegeta turned away, training his eyes on the road while his gun lowered, pointing to the ground.
She finally started putting the pieces together. “The third. You were asking my father about the third. Is that what you are looking for? A person? The third person? Third to whom?”
He ignored her as Bulma felt the car come to a very sudden stop, and, without a seatbelt, she was hurled forward into the back of the driver’s seat.
At least, she would have if not for Vegeta’s arm, still holding the gun, blocking her way and saving her from painfully hurtling face-first.
“Oof!”she exclaimed, leaning heavily over his thick arm, clothed in the expensive dark cloth of his suit. She looked down at the limb, a steady barrier keeping her from getting injured, and a miniscule part of her rejoiced in the fact that he had still looked out for her, in spite of his apparent hatred for her and her father.
Her Vegeta, her dear friend from the most innocent part of her youth, was still in there…
Firmly buried beneath the apparently sadistic man who was keeping her hostage.
She swore that she was going to do everything in her power to find her Vegeta once again.
With a small sigh, she sat up, and she was just about to ask him where they were when the door beside Vegeta opened.
She looked up, and her jaw fell slack.
A tall man wearing a bright orange jacket, with cheerful eyes belying a stern frown, looked into the car at her and Vegeta. He had thick, unruly hair that stuck out in all directions, and an unmistakable tiny birthmark on the lower right side of his chin.
It all made so much sense.
After all, if Vegeta was there, alive, somehow…
“You’re… Little Karot? Ka- Kakarot?” She stuttered.
…It made complete sense, that his brother would be, as well.
The man looked at her coolly, and Bulma almost smiled as she saw in him the small boy who had used to run around her own home, playing with rocks and sticks while she and Vegeta had reclined on the grassy lawn.
He looked almost exactly the same, and her heart was bursting with happiness at finding both brothers alive…
Kakarot barely managed a nod before he turned to Vegeta, his thin lips in a tight line.
“Big Brother,” he began, confirming Bulma’s suspicions.
It truly was Kakarot.
“The other camp has been compromised. We will set up here, instead,” he continued.
Vegeta turned to her then, pointing the gun at her as her side of the door opened, revealing the thin, dark-haired man who had trained a weapon at her as they called her father earlier.
He grabbed her roughly, dragging her out of the vehicle. Before she was able to open her mouth to scream, his hand quickly slapped a thick piece of duct tape over her lips, keeping her silent as he quickly and painfully held her arm, pulling her along with him towards a simple two-storey house.
They were surrounded by thick foliage and tall trees, and Bulma realized in distress that she was out of the city, without the faintest idea of where on earth they could possibly have taken her.
She struggled futilely against his powerful grip, wondering at how his thin frame hid such strength within his hands.
“Lapiz,” Vegeta called, and she paused as the dark-haired man with icy blue eyes turned to regard her old friend.
“Yes, Prince?” he asked, his voice a strange monotone that seemed out of place from his severe features.
“Be a little gentler with her. She will not be good as leverage if we were to damage her,” Vegeta said as he briskly walked past them, heading into the house after Kakarot.
Bulma’s heart pounded at his words, while her eyes followed Vegeta until he was inside the house and out of her sight, and hope blossomed within her chest once again.
Perhaps, there truly was a way to get to him, still.
She barely noticed when the man – Lapiz, he had been called – muttered under his breath as he began to pull her into the house once again.
As soon as she was inside, her eyes cast around, assessing the structure, trying to find any flaws that she could exploit should she be able to try to escape.
It truly was just a typical house, with a stairwell off to one side and a kitchen and dining room in the other, with what looked like a wooden picnic table and chairs in a large back yard. There was a rather spacious living room, with a large couch and two wide armchairs that stood around a small wooden center table.
It was strange, how cozy the place looked. It looked as if it had been regularly occupied, the furniture and electronics looking well-worn but intact.
She was tugged upstairs, and before she knew it, she found herself pushed into a small, brightly-lit bedroom. Lapiz released her hands, but before she could move to try to hit him or force her way past him, he shoved her away from him as he backed away, loudly shutting the door in her face.
Stunned, she catches herself before she trips over her feet, feeling about her face to pull off the thick tape, cringing in pain as the adhesive pulled harshly at her skin.
“Let me out!” Bulma cried as soon as she removed the tape, and she pounded on the door, gritting her teeth in rage. “You can’t just keep me here!”
“Yes we can,” Lapiz replied coolly. “And if I were you, I would pipe down and relax. If you keep making noise, I assure you that I can find ways to make this very uncomfortable for you.
She stood, pounding madly at the door for what seemed like hours, her voice growing hoarse as she screamed, going from threatening them all with law suits to begging to be let out.
However, she had begun to tire, and before she truly wanted to give in, her exhausted body made her decision for her, leading her to slump frustratedly against the door.
“Argh!” she yelled, her hands slamming angrily against the wooden door one more time before she turned to look around the room.
It was, just like the rest of the house, deceptively comfortable. However, Bulma immediately noticed that in place of blinds, the windows were barred with closely-welded, thick metal grates, covering heavily-tinted glass. She would hazard a guess, that the windows were bullet-proof.
She moved forward to sit glumly on the edge of the bed in the center of the room, feeling twenty years older than she had been just that morning. With a loud sigh, she leaned down, placing her face in her hands as she mulled about her situation, a part of her still unable to believe what had just happened.
Worry ate at her as she finally accepted the fact that she had truly just been abducted, held hostage for information that her father likely would not give, and her kidnappers were headed by her dearest childhood friend whom she had long believed to be dead.
She was dejected and utterly exhausted, and with a groan, she glumly leaned back against the mattress, looking up at the ceiling, still trying to make sense of all that had happened.
Her eyes felt heavy, her fears about her situation keeping her from rest, even while she felt her mind begin to jumble with the mental fog that was quickly taking over her. Her awareness was dwindling, but how could she possibly fall asleep when she was in a strange house, unsure even of whether or not she would still see the light of the next day?
She fought back bitterly against her body, but soon enough, she found herself laying on the bed, her eyes drooping closed, and against her own will, her consciousness gave way to the darkness of slumber.
8-8-8-8-8
Vegeta found it strange, that she had stopped yelling.
He had been convinced that Bulma would have been screaming herself hoarse, all night, and it was rather unusual for a hostage to be so… docile.
Curious, he walked up the stairs, finding Lapiz dutifully leaning against the door, standing guard.
“How is she?” he asked, and Lapiz smirked, a small quirk of his thin lips that raised Vegeta’s hackles. “I swear to God if he says something stupid, I will-”
“She’s asleep,” he answered.
Vegeta blinked. “Asleep?”
Lapiz nodded. “Rather fitfully, too. Would you like to go on guard duty now?”
Vegeta nodded once, and Lapiz walked off, not even glancing back as he opened the door slowly, carefully peering into the room where they had dumped Bulma.
“Well, I’ll be damned,” he muttered half-amusedly as he saw that the woman really was asleep, lying on her side diagonally across the small bed, hands curled together beside her head like a small child.
Like the child that he had last seen her as, before that day.
Banishing the infuriatingly sentimental thought, Vegeta stepped closer, watching her chest move gently with her breaths, her thick lashes brushing against the tops of her cheeks. Her blue hair had been pulled out of her earlier ponytail, and now her long tresses sprawled wildly about her head, like the waves of an ocean fanning over the shore.
He found himself sitting beside her, silently observing her, wondering how on earth she had managed to fall asleep at a time like this.
A powerful impulse to touch her seized him, and he watched helplessly as his hand lifted to rest softly on her head, his fingers tangling whimsically amongst the strands of her mussed-up hair.
He marveled at how the strands flowed like water between his fingers, at how they curled around his wrist, and he was so fixated on the contrast of the blue against his caramel skin that he failed to notice as she began to stir.
Bulma turned, and seemingly suddenly, the widest, deepest blue eyes he had ever known were staring questioningly at him while he sat dumbly at the edge of her bed, beside her.
He pulled away, determinedly staring at the wall, schooling his features into a stern frown even while he felt his ears burn painfully from his embarrassment at being caught.
“Vegeta,” he heard her speak, and against his better judgment, he cast his eyes back towards her, taking in her bleary eyes and the pinkened part of her cheek that had rested against the pillow.
He merely grunted.
He felt her shift so she was sitting up beside him, and in spite of the small distance between them, it was as if he could feel her heat, follow the beating of her heart.
“Hey,” she called cautiously. “Can we… can we talk?”
He smirked. “And are you not talking, already?”
He felt her small hand slap playfully at his arm, and he stared at her with wide eyes, unable to believe her brazen, unguarded action.
She was his hostage, and she still had the audacity to act so familiarly with him.
Does she truly still hold some confidence in him? A misguided sort of trust or kinship?
“You know what I mean,” she said pulling him from his thoughts. “This… you have to know, dad has nothing to do with the crimes against your father. You know my dad, Vegeta-”
He stiffened, immediately sobering.
“Stop,” he said, his voice hard, angry. “You know nothing. You have absolutely no idea-”
“Vegeta, please!” she cried. “I… I remember that day. I remember it so well. I was with my father when he received the call about your family.”
He clenched his fists. How could that be?
“Don’t you dare lie to me,” he hissed.
“I’m not lying! I swear to you,” she said, moving closer to him, a hand hovering over his, as if she wanted to touch him, but was hesitant, afraid.
He turned to her, brows low, teeth bared. “You cannot possibly-”
“I was in the car while my father was at the plaza.”
This stopped him cold.
He did not know that she had been in the plaza when he – when he –
“Dad was yelling at me to stay put, and I screamed when I heard the – the gunshots,” she murmured, and Vegeta watched as she turned pale, memories of her fear on that fateful day filling her face with clear dread.
She gulped. “I tried to go after him when he ran off, but it was so… so chaotic, and I froze, and suddenly, dad was there, and he shouted at me for leaving the car. He dragged me back into the car, and his phone rang, and… and then he was screaming at someone for letting Aunt Gine die.”
The sound of that name, a name that he had not heard spoken aloud in decades, sent a furious shudder to course through Vegeta, and he stood, fists tightly clenched as his teeth ground angrily.
“Do not speak that name,” he growled. “None of you Briefs can ever speak that name-”
“I loved her too! Like she was my own mother! She-”
“She was my mother!” he finally yelled, and Bulma recoiled as the sound of his voice echoed harshly within the small room.
“Vegeta-”
“She was slaughtered,” Vegeta said, choking on the final word as he remembered the fate that had befallen the gentle woman. “And my father was killed when he tried to avenge her.”
The edges of his eyes burned with furious tears that he refused to let fall, would never again let fall.
He moved from the bed, pacing angrily around the room, his eyes determinedly watching his feet as he tried, tried so hard, not to look back at her, lest the sight of Bulma’s watery eyes tear his resolve from him.
He had to remember… Had to remind himself…
Bulma was the enemy.
“And after that, they stole them…” he continued. “They stole Kakarot… And Raditz.”
He heard Bulma gasp, and he knew that she finally understood…
What it was he was looking for…
What it was that he was so desperate to find…
“They… they separated you three?” she asked, tone shocked, teary. “Vegeta, I am so sorry-”
“You mock me with your sympathy,” he snarled. “Your father and his people stole my brothers, and it took me years to find Kakarot. Now, nothing will stop me from finding the third child, our youngest brother, Raditz.”
He looked up, wanting to look into her eyes as he laid his anger out bare.
“You do remember, do you not? What it was that they said about the Saiyans,” he seethed. “We three, together, will dictate the fate of the Syndicate. It is our destiny. And no one, not you, nor your father, can keep me and my brothers from fulfilling that fate.”
Bulma leaps to her feet, her hands held out to him, as if reaching for him, but before her hands could touch him, he moved, grabbing her wrists, pushing so her hands clenched near her chest, away from him.
“Vegeta, you have to believe me,” she said, her voice broken, full of the weight of unshed tears. “My father would never hurt your mother. He was not responsible for this! Set me free and I will prove it to you!”
He laughed. “You think me so ignorant? No. You shall stay here until we have the answers we need. Your father holds the key to finding Raditz and he will lead us to him, whether he wants to or not.”
“Please,” she begged again. “Don’t do this. You… this isn’t like you. I will help you, Vegeta. But you need to let me go. You are a good person and-”
“Do not,” he shouted, shaking her slightly, “presume to know who I am. I have changed. What your father and the rest of those men have done to me has hardened me.”
“I-”
“You do not know me,” he hissed, “just as much as I no longer know you.”
With those words, he pushed her away, forcing himself to ignore the pained little yelp she made when she stumbled, knocking her knees on the wooden bed posts while she fell back against the mattress.
He turned to go, and as he held the doorknob to let himself out, he heard her speak.
“I am still the same, Vegeta,” she said, the force behind her words surprising him, making him glance back.
“Tch,” he spat. “Keep telling yourself that.”
“I am,” she insisted. “I am still Bulma. Your friend, your friend who loves you. And as your friend, I am telling you that my father knows nothing. If he knew anything, he would have told you before you had taken me away.”
He turned away again, a sneer crossing his lips before he left her with his parting words.
“Stop fooling yourself. You are a smart woman. We both know that he knew something. However, it appears as if keeping the secret is more important than keeping you safe,” he said as he turned away with a sneer, his eyes on the wooden grains of the door. “If he could forsake his own daughter, think about how easy it would have been for him to forsake me.”
He stepped out, locking the door from the outside as he heard her call out to him again, her voice raw from her hurt and denial.
Summoning all of the hatred and pain from the past years of his life, he steeled himself, and walked away.

CHARACTER BASICS
Name: Antonius “Tony” Michael Dryden Date of Birth: Place of Birth: Ipswitch, Suffolk, England Actual Age/Age of appearance: 23 Marital Status: Single Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual Pronouns: he/him Religion: None Health details: Healthy as any strapping young man his age Occupation: Ex-quidditch player, Task Force Member
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION (OR WRITE A COUPLE PARAGRAPHS)
Height: 5′10″ Eye Color: Green-blue Hair Color/Style: Short, spikey up top with the use of gel Aesthetic/Style: Tony likes to think that he has a good sense of style; he definitely wears more sportswear, or clothes like t-shirts, comfortable jeans, not too tight, and trainers (or Converse) Other: Pinup of a girl on a broom on his left bicep Play-By Used: Taron Edgerton
BACKGROUND AND CHARACTER
Personality: Tony is truly a good guy. He’s honest, loyal, fun-loving, and doesn’t have a bad bone in his body. If he hurts someone, then whatever he’s done happened because he was being oblivious or daft. He won’t intentionally hurt anyone.
At school, he had loads of friends. He might’ve very well been a Gryffindor stereotype apart from the characteristic of needing to one-up someone. That wasn’t Tony. He didn’t need to be the best, he just wanted to be good. Playing quidditch professionally was always his dream. When he was smaller, when his father was alive, he wanted to be an Auror, but not since. He never thought about as to why, but maybe it was because Tony knew if he did make that risk, became an Auror, then there was a possibility that he’d die too, and then his mother would be left all alone.
Because Tony is honest, he gets pissed off, even angry, when someone accuses him of lying. If you don’t want to believe him, then fine. If you punish him for something that he didn’t do, then fuck you. Which is why he is furious to this day at how his quidditch dream just died when he had never taken those illegal potions. He has a trusting quality that led to his career’s downfall. He befriended fellow players too closely, he didn’t keep it professional, he kept too many of their secrets. Then they betrayed him one way or another, and that’s how he got caught up in it.
Otherwise, if you don’t screw him over, Tony will be one of the most loyal friends you have, someone who has your back, someone who will make sure you don't feel alone. He’s the best drinking buddy - the best buddy to have fun with really. And he’ll never lie to you.
History: Tony’s dad was an Auror who died during Voldemort’s reign in the 90s, so the fact that it was just he and his mother since he was a kid, truly shaped the kind of man that Tony grew up to be. He was always sensitive as to how women should be treated. He always treated his mother with kindness and respect. If he had a little sister, then he would’ve been an amazing big brother. While not academically superb, Tony was a decent student. Since his mother was muggleborn, they lived among muggles and Tony was immersed in that world.
He was a beater on the Gryffindor team and soon after graduating was accepted onto the Montrose Magpies, the most successful team in the British and Irish League. Unfortunately, after a couple of years, several players, including him, were involved in an illegal potions scandal, and this went on for months with trials, verdicts, and stamps in records. Not only was Tony kicked out, but the Chief Warlock of the Wizengamot declared:
“The ban will last a total of six years, during which [he] cannot be recruited by any other national team. During that time, [he is] also banned from having any contact with the national teams. No practice, no sponsorship events. [He is] hereby effectively and completely removed from the National setting. After the six years, should [he] wish to seek reinstatement, [he] may contact the Wizengamot and petition the ability to once again play on the national stage.”
Of course, who would take him at that point? Too much time would pass by then, he’d be out of practice and older. His image would still be sullied. Tony realized that he needed to find another career if he wanted to support his mother. She was all he had. So after about eight months of putzing around, Tony decided to join the Task Force. They promised compensation, not to mention they’d train him, provide him with room and board, and maybe he’d be on the road to becoming an Auror after all.
Connections:  Emma Misabun: He went to school with her. He knows of her, but he doesn’t know her. Holy Merlin’s Beard - she’s on the Ministry. He had no idea. She certainly grew up.
Alysia Harrow: Best mate. He has some from his school days, but they’ve got boring jobs now and some have kids, and Tony’s still Tony, but Alysia is loyal and fun, and he knows that she genuinely cares about him, and it’s the same with him. It helps that she knows who he is now, best. And, after all, they’ve been kicked out of the Magpies together, and since it both affects their lives, they ‘get’ that they’re both trying to figure out what to do with their lives.
Future plot ideas: People from his quidditch past, those who screwed him over. People who knew his father.

She still struggles with the loss of her family and hates talking about it with others and can sometimes lose control of her powers and go insane if she pushes her self to hard but if you can get past that tough exterior of hers she still as caring and loveable as she was in the beginning

Skyler’s life took a turn for the worst, the day she witnessed her sister’s murder. At the hands of her supposed boyfriend Austin Wolf (whom never really loved Skyler, he was just toying with her for information about her mother's whereabouts so he could destroy the rose family once and for all. Also to make his hunt more entertaining.)
In raged like never before Skyler decided to strike back at Austin, and avenge her older sister’s death. Skyler of course couldn't complete such an impossible task alone, so against her better judgement she inquired help from her uncle Blade (an arrogant ammeter vampire hunter, with a short temper) They spent whole evenings carefully plotting the downfall of the wolf brothers, when Skyler finally came to her senses she started having doubts and questions if she really want to go through with it worried about the outcome if their plan failed. With some effort Blade somehow managed to put all Skyler’s fears to rest, somehow managing to convince her they could win all she needed was a little faith.
Unfortunately for Skyler, Blade’s arrogance and therefore lack of information on vampires was to be their downfall. Austin’s well informed younger Nolan wolf quickly learned of their plans, through nameless informants whom had been observing Skyler’s every move since her sister’s murder had occurred and was quick to put his own plans in place. Nolan ambushed Skyler and Blade while they were taking a midnight stroll through town, wanting to get Skyler alone Nolan snuck up behind Blade swiftly snapping his neck before he knew what happened. He took a moment to clear his throat drawing Skyler’s attention to him, before she could scream he had her pinned down onto the pavement enjoying the fact that she was at his mercy.
Nolan decided rather than take Skyler to his brothers like Austin had ordered him to, he decided to toy with her a  little bit then kill her.  After all Why should Austin be the only one to who gets to have all the fun it just wasn't fair to Nolan that is, so he sunk his razor sharp fangs into her neck listing to her cry for someone to come and save her as he drank her hot sweet rare blood. Just when things seemed bleak for Skyler, her feisty best friend faith sprang into action to save her. Faith gave Nolan a good in the back of the head with her baseball bat, foolishly thinking it would knock him out. Unfortunately   for Faith this was not the case, it just pissed him off, he dropped Skyler on the pavement quick wiping around to face the pink haired troublemaker who laughed in his face taking off running
Hoping the hot headed vampire would give chase, which he did without a second thought now wanting faith’s blood on his hands for ruining his meal. While this was going on Skyler’s other best friend Dylan came and
picked Skyler up off the ruff cracked pavement which now  was stained with her blood carrying her back to her house wedding style .Making small talk of the great adventures  they had together as children and all the trouble they had caused, along the way. To keep her awake because he figured she was probably a bit sluggish and fatigued from the shock of yet another death in her family not to mention the blood loss she had suffered at the hands
of Nolan wolf. When they reached the house, Sarah rose was waiting for them
on the front porch looking beyond frantic. Almost as if she already knew, what
had happened without any explanation from Skyler or Dylan,
practically out of nowhere Sarah rushed forward taking her daughter from Dylan’s
arms insisting that she could take it from here and Dylan needed to get as far
away from the house as humanly possible. Of course, Dylan being himself
protested refusing to leave his childhood best friend and the women whom had been like a second mother alone to fend off all manner of beast; however, Sarah ignored him rushing her daughter inside without another word leaving Dylan alone to his thoughts on the porch.
Once inside Sarah gently laid her groggy daughter on her bed, frantically packing their things insisting they leave town immediately and that Skyler was their last hope refusing to let the wolf brother get her too. After Sarah had finished packing, she helped Skyler to her feet ready to make her escape like she had done eighteen years earlier with her oldest daughter Katherine whom had been but a newborn infant at the time. Unfortunately, for Sarah this time she would not be so lucky, just as Skyler and Sarah reached the bottom of the stairs their front door shattered into a million pieces like a thin sheet of glass. In its wake stood three smug hybrids, Sarah wa quick to react pushing her daughter behind  her with fists clenched at her sides looking rather dangerous she was ready to protect her daughter with her life.
Austin decide to distract her by making a grand speech full of empty threats and jabs, And while he was doing so riley slipped behind her at inhuman speed grabbing skyler by her shoulders and forcing her to what watch sarah struggle to fight both Austin and Nolan. Thought sarah gave her all it wasn't enough to save her from a slow and painful death,of course Riley didn't want to miss out on all the fun so he foolishly let go of skyler rushing to join his brothers. Skyler Got light headed collapsed on the hardwood floor luckily for her a blue haired of women in a shiney crimson cloak came and peeled her off the floor(note skyler sees faith laying limply blood and beaten with Dylan by her side on the pavement outside assumes they're both dead , victoria leaves  her alone in the middle forbidden forest hoping she would be safe there, however the forbidden forest was a place of many mysteries and dangers, will skylar be able to escape it before it's too late or die trying.
she ended up running into a clever vampire by the name of ferid bathory he her gave her two choices   become his pet or he would make her into his meal. She unwilling became his pet and still is to this day hoping praying that someone will come and save her.
After several months of physical and emotional torture soul came to her rescue, taking her back to his own mansion conforming her and trying to no only restore her self confidence, but her heath she was very thin and filthy at first because ferid often didn't take care of her like he should have.when she was healthy enough she insisted that she wanted to go off and train with Jaden to become a vampire Hunter no longer wanting to be prey and save people from suffering the same ordeal . Soul reluctantly agreed to let her go.the night before she left Ferid came to her in her dreams and told her that she only had four years to get stronger then he'd come for her
So the next morning she went off with Jaden into his world to begin her training, though Jadan was hyper and a little strange at times. His training methods were effective,on of the things he taught her was rather then use brute force on Enemies she needed to use her wits and out smart them first and also that vampire hunting was very seriously business if she played around she'd end up dead.so after for years intense training she grew up into a ruthless and clever vampire Hunter, returned home to face what ever came her way next.

Rufus’ obsession with Alice throughout Kindred serves as an important factor in Rufus’ character and the progression of the plot, highlighting the themes and development of Rufus’ relationship with Dana, and his relationship with his own struggles concerning racism and his feelings. His obsession with Dana serves the same purposes but in different ways, and his approach to getting what he wants from Dana is significantly different than his approach toward Dana. In the beginning of the novel, Rufus grew attached to Dana quickly after she initially traveled back to the 1800s and saved him frown drowning. She tried to teach him good things, tried to steer him away from becoming like his father. Although she ultimately failed, she had gained a semblance of equal footing with Rufus despite being black. Even so, she realizes that her attempts were futile; after he rapes Alice, she thinks, “I’d been foolish to hope to influence him” (123). His approach to get what he wants from Dana was more subtle; it was control and manipulation borne from his desire for Dana to stay with him.
An example of this is when Rufus tells Dana he mailed the letters she wrote to Kevin. When she finds out he lied and never sent them at all, she confronts him about. He tells her that “I wanted to keep you here” (180). Although she’s angry and hurt, Dana expresses empathy and understanding when he tells her that he was afraid of her abandoning him. “I looked at him again and let myself understand. It was that destructive single-minded love of his. He loved me” (180). There is a complex relationship between them in the fact that Dana returns to his time when he fears he’s near death, and every time she jumps back she saves him. He knows this, she knows this, and the power she holds over his life is similar to the power he holds over hers in being her protection when she returns, her way of avoiding being sold or whipped to death. But the love he has for her, as convoluted as it is, is real. It’s also mutual, as Dana says that “ [..] we didn’t hate each other. We could hurt each other too badly, kill each other too quickly in hatred. He was like a younger brother to me” (180). Another example is when he gets rid of Sam for being interested in Dana, for merely talking to her. His love for Dana turns into something less platonic and much more twisted near the end, when his obsession with Dana overlaps with his obsession with Alice.
Rufus’ approach to his interest in Alice is significantly different. Whereas with Dana there’s a mutual agreement that there are things he cannot do with her, he doesn’t have that restriction with Alice. With Alice, he began gently; he was her friend, and he cared for her. But as he got older, that friendship turned to love and when he expressed that to her she turned him down – she even married another man. Enraged, he used his power as a white man and her lack of power being a black woman to take what he wanted. After attacking Alice, her husband Isaac beats him. Dana lets them escape then helps Rufus, so seems unapologetic. He feels entitled to Alice, as evidenced in the conversation he has with Dana about it in this passage:
“’I would have taken better care of her than any field hand could. I wouldn’t have hurt her if she hadn’t just kept saying no.’
‘She had the right to say no.’
‘We’ll see about her rights’ (123).”
Alice was born free, but as the story progresses, she becomes Rufus’ slave. After being captured and her husband taken from her, she’s taken in by Rufus and nursed back to health only to be trapped as being his unwilling lover, and giving birth to his children. Rufus seems happy with the arrangement, even as he grows violent with Alice despite his claims of loving her.
Another thing to note is the friendship between Alice and Dana. Many around the field say that they’re like sisters; they fight like sisters and care for the other like sisters. Dana is the one who nursed Alice back to health after nearly being beaten to death, and after Dana was whipped for the same thing, Alice returned the favor. They’re very close; so close that Dana trusts Alice with her secrets, including her plans to leave, and Alice is the one who snooped around Rufus’ room and found Dana’s letters to Kevin. They’re very similar, and it’s even mentioned they look similar too. Rufus even says as much; after Alice dies and he’s having a breakdown, he tells Dana “You’re so much like her, I can hardly stand it” (257) and goes on to say “You were one woman […] Two halves of a whole” (257). Earlier on, before Dana left again and Alive hung herself, she had told Dana “He likes me in bed, and you out of bed […] we’re two halves of the same woman—at least in his crazy head” (229).
It makes me wonder if maybe Rufus had seen Dana in Alice, rather than the other way around. His obsession and love for Dana had always been fierce and worrying, especially when he nearly shot her and Kevin when they tried to leave once reunited. But he knew he couldn’t have her. He knew that he couldn’t take what he wanted from her, but he could take what he wanted from Alice. She was easier to control, easier to hurt and love in the ways he wants. In the end, Rufus’ love for these women became his downfall, and led Alice to ending her life because of Rufus’ abusive, controlling version of love.

You and Me Against The World: Leavin on a Jet Plane
Middleton - Saturday Morning - Possible Residence.
Kim woke up Saturday morning feeling refreshed from a good nights sleep. However, her excitement only got to her when she realized that today was Saturday and tomorrow was Sunday. Tomorrow; she, Ron and Monique would be boarding a cruise ship known as the S.S Tipton for six months of schooling around the world. To say the least, Kim was super excited. Just think of all the amazing sites and places she'll get to see. Not to mention all the new people she'll get to meet and all the new things she'll get to learn while she's with her best girl friend and her best friend turned boyfriend. The only downfall was that Bonnie was going to be there too, but she didn't let that thought tamper her spirits. After all, the ship was big she might not even hardly see Bonnie except for in classes or around. So, it was gonna be pretty easy to ignore the spoiled rich brat. At least, that's what Kim was hoping anyway.
With that in mind, Kim begin to get ready for the day. She took a morning shower, brushed her hair and teeth. Even got dressed. Today she was wearing her simple green tan top, blue capris and white tennis-shoes. Heading downstairs she could smell breakfast being made by her mother or and father. Entering the kitchen, she found her parents and Ron already in the kitchen. To be honest, Kim wasn't even phased that Ron was already there before she was. In fact, she's known him her whole, so she would've been sad if he hadn't been there. Walking to the table she is greeted by everyone just as her mom puts breakfast on the table. They all sit down and begin to eat.
"So, what's the sea school I'm hearing about from Ronald?" Mr. Possible questioned as he raised an eyebrow at his daughter. "And how come I'm hearing it from him and not you?" Mr. Possible added feeling a little hurt that his own daughter didn't come and talk to him herself. He took a few bites of food and waited for her answer.
Kim smiles and says, "It's nothing to worry about daddy." Kim says sweetly and innocently to try and keep her father from yelling at her. "Its just a contest for school. Monique, Ron and I won and we get to board the S.S Tipton for six months and study aboard. Its this school program called Seven Seas High. They not only teach you about places and history as well as other subjects but you get to stop and various studied places and history and see it for yourself. I want to do this because its an amazing learning opportunity. Not just for me, but for all who's attending the school. Plus it will be good to have for college applications. Even better, I can keep my world saving going through the help of Wade. Its just such an awesome chance that I had to sign up and do it! Plus, we'll be back before graduation." Kim explained with a smile as the parents and Ron can clearly see and hear the excitement in her.
Mr. Possible smiles as his daughter's explanation and says calmly. "Very well. If Monique and Ron are going to be with you then I don't see why you can't go. As you said, its a great opportunity for you to learn and meet new people! And its good for college applications! Just as long as you promise to call in once to every two weeks with us so we know you're alive." Mr. Possible explained as he adds the last part with a serious face.
"Of course daddy! I will always call in and check in with you guys!" Kim smiles with excitement. "Thank you mom and dad, this really means a lot to me!" Kim finishes as she continues to eat her breakfast. Her parents smile and they eat as well...
After eating breakfast Kim thanks her parents as she and Ron go up to her room. Besides, she and Ron were leaving tomorrow for the six months along with Monique and Bonnie, Kim had to make sure she was packed and ready to go. Once inside the room, Kim made sure to keep her door open (her father's rule) and began to pack. Ron hung out on the bed with Rufus and the three of them enjoyed their company.
"How much clothes did you pack Ron?" Kim questioned as she raised her eyebrow wondering what she should pack herself.
Smiling Ron adds, "My whole wardrobe. Were going to be gone for six months! I have no idea what I'm going to when for which day!" Ron finished with thought and realization.
Giggling Kim nods and replies, "Alright sounds good to me!" Kim finishes as she begin to pack her entire wardrobe as well.
It took a while for her to pack all her clothes. But once they were packed Kim was struggling to close one of her suitcases. Luckily though, Ron was able to help her with that and they got everything finished. This left Kim with almost five suitcases and her school supplies/laptop bag. Seeing this, Kim didn't realize she had that much clothes until now. Looking at the time, Kim saw it was around two pm and felt her stomach growl. Sure she eat breakfast, but that was around eight am. Besides, all that packing sure took most of her energy up.
Ron seeing the hungry look on his girlfriends face, smiled and says. "Shall we go to Bueno Nacho for one last lunch date?" Ron question with hope as he took felt his stomach growl.
Smiling Kim nods and says, "We shall! But first, can you pretty please help me move my suitcases downstairs so they are ready to go tomorrow?" Kim questions with hope as Ron nods in agreement.
Bueno Nacho
Kim and Ron sat at their usual table eating their food. Kim could notice her boyfriend's sad expression while she took a bite of her salad. "I'm really gonna miss the taste of cheese and the smell of seasoned beef for sure." Ron said, making Rufus cry as well.
"You won't..." Kim said with a smile. "I just looked on the SS Tipton's website and..."
Ron's face lit up in hope. "It has a Bueno Nacho on board?!" Ron asked happily.
"No." Kim said, causing Ron to frown again. "Two." Ron and Rufus's eyes went wide as not only did the cruise ship have a Bueno Nacho, it had two so they could eat their whenever they wanted. Rufus basically fainted in happiness.
"Two? With two Bueno Nachos, I could basically use one for myself and friends, and the other one to take you out on dates!" Ron said with a smile. Kim just smiled back and leaned in for a kiss that lasted about 6 seconds.
"Hey, there's the lucky couple." A familiar, friendly voice said.
"Oh, hey Felix." Kim greeted with a smile as their wheelchair friend came up to them.
"Staying frosty my man?" Ron asked.
"As always." Felix said with a smile. "So, you two pumped up for tomorrow?"
"As we'll ever be." Kim said before seeing Monique approach them.
"Hey guys. Make sure you're back at home tonight for the party." Monique said with a smile.
"What party?" Kim asked with an arched eyebrow.
"The going away party I'm throwing for all three of us! Your mom said it was alright." Monique explained.
"Oh, that's cool." Kim said. She then notice Bonnie walking into the restaurant. "Hello, B."
"Save your snarks for later, K. And let's just hope that we're not roommates this time." Bonnie said, remembering the time they shared a cabin at cheer camp.
"Believe me. That is the last thing I want." Kim said as she went back to eating her food.
Possible Residence-Saturday Night
It was crowded inside the Possible Household as a banner from the living room hung that read, 'Bon Voyage'. Kim, Ron, and Monique were just hanging around with their friends, making sure they shared proper goodbyes, knowing they won't see each other for six months.
"Well, I say this new start is going off great." Ron said with a smile. Kim smiled back before she noticed her twins brothers, Jim and Tim, aka the Tweebs, approach them.
"Hey Kim! We got you a going away gift!" Tim said with a smile as he and his brother held out two gift boxes.
"You too Ron! We hope you like them." Jim said as they handed out their gifts. Kim and Ron smiled at the rare show of compassion from her mischievous brothers as they opened their presents. Kim gasped as she opened her box to reveal a pair of her original mission outfit.
"How did you even find this?" Kim asked with a smile.
"Easy. eBay." Tim said.
"No way!" Ron gasped as he opened his box to reveal his original Mad Dog costume.
"For the other students so they know how cool you are." Jim said. "And as a promise...
"...we'll stay out of your room for six months." Tim finished. Kim then leaned down and hugged her brothers. The Tweebs then rushed off.
"That was nice of them. Don't you think, James?" Anne asked her husband as they approached Kim.
"They're our boys." James said with a grin.
"I'm actually gonna miss them." Kim said before hugging both her parents. "And I'll miss you guys too." After the hug ended, Kim then left to join Ron.
Drakken's Lair
Caribbean Sea
Inside the evil lair of Kim's arch foe, Dr. Drakken, the blue evil scientist was pacing back and forth, trying to come up with an evil plan. It's been weeks since he was able to come up with a diabolical scheme for world domination. Her assistant, Shego was getting annoyed with her boss's constant walking. "OK! It's been four hours! Have come up with anything evil yet?!" Shego asked, irritated.
"Shego, it's not like something on the television is gonna give us our next evil plot for world domination!" Drakken said. Suddenly, Drakken's TV showed a report of Kim Possible herself.
"Today on Middleton News at 10, teen hero Kim Possible will be leaving her own hometown for six months as part of a special program and will be studying on the SS Tipton." A female news reporter said. As soon as Drakken caught wind of it, he smiled evilly.
"Shego, I suddenly feel inspired." Drakken said. "With Kim Possible busy studying on a cruise ship, there won't be anyone to foil our big plans." Shego smiled back, actually liking what her boss was planning out so far.
"Keep going." Shego inisted.
"And I believe there's another famous person aboard that ship." Drakken said. Shego frowned as she realized that it was another kidnapping plan.
"Oh don't tell me. We're gonna hold the ship and that famous person hostage for a ransom." Shego said, rolling her eyes.
"Zip it! Anyway, everyone knows that Mr. Tipton of Tipton Industries is practically the richest man in America, and his daughter London Tipton is also loaded." Drakken said. "I'm pretty sure that Mr. Tipton would be willing to pay a large sum to make sure his precious daughter isn't hurt, along with the other people aboard his cruiseliner."
"Hmm...going aboard a cruise ship to hijack it and hold everyone onboard, including the rich heiress whose daddy owns the boat for a seriously large sum of money?" Shego asked. "Why not? I'm game. But, how do you suggest we get onboard?"
"I think we can shoot a free ride, courtesy of you know who." Drakken said with a nasty grin, glancing over at the news report of Kim.
Middleton Airport
Sunday
It was a pleasant Sunday morning as Kim, Ron, Monique, and Bonnie sat in the airport lobby, waiting for their flight to be called. The four teens could hardly sleep last night, excited over the potential adventures that awaited them. Their family members were also waiting with them as well, trying not to cry over the goodbyes they'll share soon. "This is gonna be a big adventure for you kids. You're not nervous?" Anne asked Kim.
"Mom, it's no big." Kim said, rolling her eyes playfully again. "But, I'll really miss you guys." She then turned to her cheer squad friend, Tara. "You think you can handle being cheer captain for six months?"
"Hey, you helped me through tough times. I think I can handle it." Tara said with a smile, earning her a hug from Kim.
"Big Brother Ron will miss you so much." Ron said while holding his little sister, Hana. His parents just smiled at the hug their son and daughter shared. Rufus just squeaked angrily, feeling jealous.
"Attention, boarding for Flight 222 from Middleton to New York is now boarding." An announcer said over the airport PA system.
"Well, this is it." Monique said. "Let's get going." Kim and Ron then shared one last hug with their families.
"See you in six months." Kim said with a smile before she and Ron let go.
"I'm going first! Out of the way, losers!" Bonnie said, pushing Kim, Ron, and Monique out of the way. She then walked through the metal detectors, only to set them off. "Stupid bracelets."
Kim and Monique couldn't help but crack a giggle at that. Then, Ron, Kim, and Monique walked through the security system, waving one last time to their family and friends. They then made their way to the boarding counter, unaware that Drakken and Shego were watching through the baggage terminal.
"OK, what's the plan?" Shego whispered.
"We sneak on board the plane, hide in the overhead compartment, then follow the snotty nose brats to the ship." Drakken said. Shego just rolled her eyes before following her boss.
The four teens then made their way to the front of the boarding counter. Rufus then popped up and showed his pass. "Hmm...first class." One of the flight attendants said.
The teens were shocked that Rufus was gonna be flying first class while they were gonna settle for coach. "First class?!" The four teens exclaimed in unison.
"How did you get a first class ticket?!" Ron asked his pet in disbelief.
"Sorry." Rufus squeaked, shrugging his shoulders.
"Right this way. You'll be seated in the VIP section." The flight attendant said.
"VIP?! You gotta be kidding me!" Bonnie exclaimed. "How is it possible that a naked mole rat is going first class, and we're going for stinking coach?!"
"Jealous much? Maybe you're not as fabulous as your hero London Tipton." Kim smirked as she handed her boarding pass.
"You tell her, girlfriend." Monique said with a smile, earning her a growl from Bonnie. Ron and Bonnie then boarded the plane. The four teens then found their seats while Rufus just sat in his first class seat and smiled, happy about the luxuries he was about to get.
"I can't believe we have to sit in coach. Why can't we just relax in first class with Rufus, or better yet take your Sloth so the school didn't have to spend money on our tickets?" Ron said as he put his luggage in the overhead compartment and took his seat next to Kim.
"There is a thing as being modest." Kim said with a smile before giving her guy a peck on the cheek. "Don't worry. It's only three hours. We'll be living in luxury in no time."
A few minutes later, the plane took off, on it's way to New York City. Rufus was looking over the first class menu and just smiled over his selections. He flipped through the yummy choices before the cheese platter caught his eye. "Cheese!" Rufus squeaked with delight as he made his selection.
"Have you made your selection, sir?" A flight attendant asked, to which Rufus nodded and handed his menu back to her.
Meanwhile, back in the uncomfortable coach section, Bonnie was trying to sleep when she was awoke by a small girl kicking her seat. "Hey kid! Will you quit kicking my seat?! I'm trying to sleep here!" Bonnie exclaimed.
"So?" The girl shot back, continuing to kick Bonnie's seat. Kim and Ron just watched from across, smiling widely.
"Well, there's one benefit in being assigned coach." Kim said with a giggle.
Back in first class, Rufus's cheese platter was brought to him. The naked mole at smiled as he dug into his food. It wasn't long until he was filled up. "Finished, sir?" The flight attendant asked. Rufus nodded. After his plate was collected, he sat back and simply relaxed.
Meanwhile, in the tight space of the overhead compartment, Drakken and Shego were pushing and shoving each other, clearly uncomfortable. "Next time we try to sneak on a plane, I'm picking the hiding spot!" Shego hissed.
"OK. I get it. But it'll be worth it soon. Once we're on board the SS Tipton, we'll simply blend into the crowd. Then, when they least expect it, we'll kidnap London Tipton, then stop the ship's engines, holding her and the entire ship hostage. And if Mr. Tipton doesn't comply in time or at all, KABOOM!" Drakken explained.
"Well, let's just hope the ship isn't as crowded as this baggage hold." Shego grunted as they waited for the plane to land.
