its kinda a stupid question, but i rlly wanted to know how tf you guys come up w such good dialogue for the comics u do :o i guess a better way to word it is whats the whole process like when making the comics? do you just go with the flow when writing & drawing or do u guys write the dialogue out before?

Ok question first then explain what’s been goin on for us Irl Skdkf

Our comic process is a bit… messy let’s call it lol. Typically how it goes is we get an idea on what to do wether it be angst fluff or anything, the idea can come from a meme, something that happened to us, reading something or even just a random lightbulb moment, from there we bounce it off each other to see how it could possible go and if the other has perhaps other ideas on how to build on it

After we have a solid idea on it we basically live roleplay, we set the scene and one of us starts it. The roleplay isn’t exactly what we’re going for (mainly cuz it ends up a lil goofy or really really bad) but it gives feral the base she needs on how to direct the comic, sometimes I’ll even make a write out a quick and short snippet to help her build the scene as well. Both RP and the snippet are very useful tho just depends how we’re feeling (it’s usually a RP tho cuz it also gives feral some expressions to work with as I play the boys)

It’s a messy way of doing it cuz it’s very chaotic but it helps a ton for feral to have a starting base before diving into the comic, both by giving her some dialogue to modify, expression to work with and a general direction on the story

As for the part if we’re ok.. I don’t wanna jinx it again so I’ll say that we’re alive 😭 (putting a read more cuz post is getting long)

We planned on coming back to makin art in Feb/March but things did not go as planned, in Dec our water pump broke so we had to move out for a week until that got fixed and then in late Jan our roof started leaking and we had to pack up and move out entirely in March cuz we found out the entire roof is atrocious and needs to be torn out and redone 😭

We thought we would be back home by now but they were barely able to start working on it last week cuz legal issues got in the way that took forever to resolve so we might not be back home until June, we have a place to stay tho so dw bout that! Just a lot of things have been happening and we’re really hoping we can start making art again soon, we do have comms that we need to finish first but once those are finished we plan on hopping back in cuz we really miss making content

So fingers crossed we can actually get back into it, in the mean time we do have a lot of wips, both drawing’s and writings cuz we would start em in this period and then have to stop due to issues, so there’s not only a lot in the works but also even more ideas in our head of stuff too do ✨

Oooooo this one is still in very early stages hehe but it’s one of those 5 +1 fics (which are one of my fave kind to read haha and i rlly want more of in the mota fandom). Not rlly a snippet cause it’s mostly just a general idea and a few dialogues here and there but here’s a summary-ish instead:

He’s up and padding to the phone table without a second thought. The logical part of his brain realizes that its the middle of the night, and Gale is probably asleep and he’s going to scare him to death calling out of the blue like this but he doesn’t find it in himself to feel any shame as his fingers dial the number on autopilot. The need to hear Gale’s voice talking to him, alive and breathing, is too strong. He presses the cool plastic to his ear and breathes, heart in his throat as he waits for him to pick up. He still jumps a little when he hears it.

“Hello?”

Orrrr five times John calls Gale in the middle of the night and one time Gale does instead.

Idk man EI isn't that developed to have that much cut plot points but so far its probably to make Chase more or a solo hero instead of the initial idea of having him have a team... (Bonus w Nimble being a lil sidekick but their bond is fleshed out enough for me to bother writing them in) Cuz I thought him being Aeris' replacement made more sense if he were to shoulder everything himself, also as an excuse to pretty much reduce the character count lmao I didn't wanna add too much to the point they end up unexplored (a lot of POE chars suffer from this unfortunately and it's something I'm trying to fix as of late, TEF has a more solidified cast where everyone has some sort of relevance and I'm trying to do the same w EI here), in fact a lot of the chars in SF and SD are very underdeveloped lmao whilst TSIAS suffers from a chronically low character count of just six... I need more plot points rlly (I do have something brewing in my head as of late but I'm too EI brainrotted latey to expand on it)

HI i'm rlly sorry this is like. gonna be so infodumping and idk if its helpful but here's what works for me?

write down. everything. seriously. it can be the tiniest detail u dont know if u want to use or not. write it down!!!! this kind of leads into the next one

for me it helps to be organized bc im a rlly disorganized person in general so this is the only way i can stay on track w/ a fic. if its on the longer side i start w/ the bigger Idea behind the fic (if that makes sense--- as in the whole situation, like a condensed blurb) and from there i narrow it down into scenes. just the natural flow of what u think should happen (YOU GOT THIS!)

tip: dont write linearly. u can if u want but its cool to just. not. as in, oh hey i wanna write scene x or scene y but they dont come next. but u can totally write whatever ur most hyped to write!!

trust urself and ur instinct

draw from the lil bank of snippets from step 1 and put in clips of dialogue u want etc etc whenver they go

remember that writing (especially something longer) is so daunting so take ur time! enjoy it!! make whatever pinterest boards spotify playlists memes etc u need to keep urself hyped!!

once u feel ur happy w/ the fic, editing is SO SCARY believe me but just take it scene by scene and u should be fine.

ANOTHER TIP: write for you, and what u wanna read, because u might have to read it an ungodly amount of times hahaha

if a scene isnt working remember u can just chop it up and switch it around or sprinkle it into another scene like parmesan cheese!

guess who did the first part of chapter 28 today and started crying about bronya zyachick. me i did. oh my god there was so much to unpack there and i literally cannot do a chatacter analysis on bronya so far without the rest of chap 28 being released yet so i wanna write about the little snippets of seele mentions in this chapter by bronya because goddam.

spoilers for obvious reasons so if u dont wanan get spoiled scroll !

okay the part where bronya suggested to make copies of the seleune to break the HoB's shield surrounding the church that otto went in. everyone was worried u could tell, the rashness and riskyness of it all rlly did remind everyone (esp tesla and eins) about the 2nd welt and well. they trust bronya and are giving it their all although u can tell they are concerned for her.

flash forward a bit after bronya completes her powering up and gets energy from kiana, the twins, and seele. Cue the flashback of her talking with the 2nd welt about what it meant to be the HoR and what that meant as the protector of humanity. Skipping some of the amazing dialogue here, we get to the part where bronya is looking at the first HoR. the original welt and the 300,000 other voices in the core start to whisper and judge her to see if shes fit to hold the title of fhe next HoR.

She then understands what it truly means to be HoR, and then boom whiplash she compares that to.... Seele. She realises that welt joyce was just a normal boy and his 'ordinary-ness' was what made him so strong. And she relates this back to seele because shes seen this so many times in seele before and that is seeles greatest strenght, her unbeatable kindness, tenderness, compassion that she has is her greatest strength.

And then shes allowed to use the true power of reason and feels all the power of everyone including the other voices and her friends.

You can see her describe everyone's strength here differently and what i love is how she says that seeles power is easy to idenfity. Like saying she knows her so well who else would this power belong to? the references to the color blue (being both the sky and the sea) , her gentle and kind nature, all of that being apart of what makes her strong. this definetly isnt the first time bronya has said that this kindness is what makes seele so strong, she mentioned it before in the HoD arc where seele was doubting her strength and bronya reassured her that the strength of her kindess is what saved her (bronya) from the sea of quanta.

honeslty thats what i love sm about bronseele's relationship, u can tell they know each other so well, that they dont have to even say much. like bronya treasures her friends and family very deeply u can tell by the descriptions on the energy above but when it comes to seele idk if its just me but her way of describing seele has always been so... tender and soft. u can tell there is some form of smitten and softness when it comes to seele. Not to mention the constant comparison of Seele to the color blue (not only in this chapter im p sure) which in itself is a calming color.

Like their type of love is the type that happens bit by bit, they sort of get attached at first sight to each other during the stay at the orphanage and slowly things fall into piece and their 'oh' moment is between soft smiles and shared readings of the same storybook that Seele adores so much. This sounds very rambly but man i love how their relationship is written esp how both of them are written seperately. (i will argue to the moon and back about seeles writing)

Anyways this isnt even including how Seele saved bronya from a near death with the power of the abyss flower (with help from dark seele ofc) but thats a whole other topic man.

I was wondering if you could explain what the Tarot Sequence is about in a you'll-actually-want-to-read-this way and not a goodreads-generic-description-of-plot kinda way? You're art looks super cool but I hadn't heard of the books before!

PLS yes ofc. i always wanna talk ab these books with people!! the story follows Rune, who is a rlly compelling, flawed protagonist. He gives a lot of snappy dialogue but also has a very intense internal monologue, its very very good for a main POV. He lives in a society called New Atlantis which is ruled by houses/courts headed by Tarot/Arcana, each of which has a school of magic. Rune is from the Sun court!! Its a modern setting btw

From there, you follow him on what are basically thriller/mysteries that he solves, while tackling the larger issue of his past (v cool). Huge found family moment, we love picking up strays. It has a lot of good rep, especially towards the second book, including an NB character! Rune himself is mlm, so that is the romance angle for him! overall i just loved these books. TW for them is that they do (respectfully) deal with SA, rape and violence, especially the second book.

and the author, KD releases snippets and novellas all the time, its amazing :D

i. so . Hiatus .

i know. i know . i probably mentioned it when i made the announcement post, but my mental health likes to go on one of those rides. yknow the ones where you go like up rlly fast then down maybe and then up then DOWN .... its like that. i needed a break and every time i wanted to come back or thought about it, something would happen and i would get stuck in my own head.

a big reason for getting stuck in my head was (and i hate to admit this ... i hate to admit that i have Insecurities On The Internet) my feelings of inadequacy regarding my writing. i love to plot fics, i love concepts and characters and making little headcanons but i dont ... know if i love writing rn. and i thought for the longest time that like . whatever ill just push thru it its fine ill be fine but it kinda wasnt lmao you can kinda see it in my halloween reqs and what become of them when i get to that but i began to feel like nothing i had put out or would put out would hold up prose wise (and normally i dont feel like this im much more “idc its my life im living it” but thats not a rant for tumblr LMAO). i still feel like that -- like im better as a reader than a writer. but . You Know :-)

when i left, i was in a steadily decreasing mental and emotional state, made worse by a situation at work that really was a case of petty jealousy on my end and rlly isnt very consequential now despite how much pain and resentment it gave me when it Was a problem so i wont get into it. the tl;dr of november and december was me using work as an crutch and distraction -- i know my job, i do it well, it helped me not think about my responsibilities and obligations and inadequacies. of course, as the holiday season grew busier n busier i was scheduled so often that i moved 88 or so miles (according to my apple watch, which i ONLY wear at work since im never anywhere else outside my house) and fell into a cycle of showering n sleeping at my house before going back the next day. (theres definitely something to be said abt capitalism and “grind culture” here but once again its not the time or place snsjkdfds)

at the turn of the new year, i happened to remember a birthday card i hadnt filed away for safekeeping from a friend of mine that id been horribly out of touch with til that point. i started crying because i realized how out of touch id been in general up until that point. the month of january was great for me: i was focused, happy, and in a much better place than i had been before. the end of it brought me down focus wise and im hoping that enough time away from my distractions will refocus me bc i ... need it LMAO and though ive burned out from that level of productivity and gotten distracted again im ... trying to stay positive which i think is the most i can do 😁👍🏼

media wise, i got real into stardew valley (but burned out bc i played it extensively as a way to wind down after work), the pokemon platinum romhack renegade platinum (still havent finished it bc of school n i played it w the intent to see if i could nuzlocke it ... bitch its so hard but its so fun bc of it), briefly assassins creed: odyssey (im one of those ppl who completes an entire region before i move to the next so you can tell i burned out of that one + wouldnt have the time to properly devote to it even if i didnt), got back into genshin impact after pulling for xiao (after not touching it for like . months), and danganronpa. yes . danganronpa 😐 i Know. i stopped playing it after the second trial of the first game bc i was so hurt by the outcome and picked it up in late january only to get sucked in (thank god i had the foresight to buy the second and third games during the steam winter sale). rn im at the start of chapter 4 if anyone wants to come in my asks and um . talk to me abt danganronpa

iii. you realize halloween was three months ago right

i mentioned this in the first section, but i love to plot things. every request is plotted or at least has a solid foundation. i had fun detailing what concept i wanted to go with considering what i was given, and there were some bangers i might touch up in the future. but heres whats going to happen to the requests themselves:

there are two finished requests. one will be posted tomorrow and the other will be touched up (just bc i finished it doesnt mean its good 🧍‍♂️) and scheduled for next saturday. as for the ones i never got around to ...

i will not be finishing those requests. i hate to be That Person, but i feel like we all expected this 🧍‍♂️ what i will do is post all of my notes for each request in batches -- requests that have an @ to go with them will be mentioned in the post proper, but anon asks will be pictured. (there are some asks that came from blogs who are now deactivated but i wrote down all the prompts and remember most of those askers so ill cross that bridge when i get there) there will most likely be an excerpt or two simply bc i think i mightve written a few plot points or interactions in the form of bullet points. i rlly am sorry about doing this but i remember looking at my notion doc with all the prompts and feeling ... like i wasnt measuring up n it wasnt just to myself or to some intangible concept of “other” id constructed but it was instead to those who requested n actually WANTED to see and hear and read my writing and i ...... im gonna admit thats another big reason i avoided this site.

regardless, youll definitely get what i have (and likely more than just my bullet points and illegible handwriting).

tl;dr: im sorry. what i have in terms of plot, concept, and interaction for every request will be posted, but i cant say ill ever complete them and mean it.

iv. so what now?

well i mean . im not entirely sure how sold i am on haikyuu in the content creation department (as a creator n to a lesser extent, as a consumer). as mentioned previously, its no longer my primary focus. it doesnt mean im not into haikyuu anymore; i have a lot of love for those boys but i cant rlly say im even caught up w recent fandom activity and also havent even finished s4 pt2 LMAO thats on my to do list

and despite all that, i still want to share my plots n concepts and snippets and maybe even fics. it wont happen anytime soon. it might not even happen. but i mean . its better than me saying i wont write ever again shjdkfs but either way ill probably use this blog as a personal blog w the occasional ask game for dialogue prompts (those are always so fun i love making up aus to fit like . the most mundane prompts)

as for my works (past and any potential future), ive opened an ao3 acc here n ill be editing n possibly expanding on my old works to post there. tumblr, to me, is The x reader hub, but i figure more x reader fics on ao3 is never a bad thing.

ill be deleting/posting drafted posts to the queue since they were all meant to be queued anyway as well as (sorry again 🧍‍♂️) deleting or answering asks in the inbox. (moots if you get a notif from me saying i rbed your post from months ago ... mind your business) im very hard to get ahold of and its ... a problem. expect an overhaul of the nav n shit to reflect my new direction n also because i feel like i cant tell if my passion for carrd is shared by the majority HSDKLFS maybe its better to read my info in a normal post ykwim .......

i do tend to make notes or scratch down gen ideas anywhere i can. and ive written in some odd places before, but im def most comfortable writing at home. whether that be with my laptop curled up in my bed with some tea, or my new fav spot, in the alcove under the stairs. its dark and quiet and perfect for a goblin to work so. i write when im in Any mood, but whats being written may vary, esp I’m in a more negative mood overall.

Ink: what do you do to"set the mood" when writing?

uhhhh, not rlly much. i kinda? stare at the wall, letting the scene play like a movie in my head for a few mins before just? writing? hell. sometimes i gotta like. Block out the scene and i’ll stand up n do the whole nine yards of a scene before writing it down lol it just depends on what i need to write tbh. (that actually reminds me tho, bc for Arkham Exorcism, i booted up my copy of Asylum and like. ran around Arkham Island to map out where everyone goes and trying to take stock of the kinds of things they’d notice vs ignoring, how long walking/talking might theoretically take, etc. it was Really Involved haha might have to do that again if this writers block persists tho hmm *thinking emoji*)

heartstopper: the best show out of 2022 so far

this was supposed to be a post about the shows I've been watching recently but i ramble on a lot

starts playing lover by taylor swift...

a few spoliers for heartstopper!

a tv show that was adapted from a webcomic by alice oseman! i had actually never heard of this show until twitter blew up after it was released. i think it's one of the best shows I've seen in a while (and that's kinda saying a lot). i love all the characters and the representation in the show. one thing that i noticed while watching is that they rlly nailed how teenagers talk and interact with each other. through the texts and dialogue, i felt like i was talking with my friends. sometimes the dialogue was witty, sometimes it was just plain awkward and that's how me and my friends talk so i think it was great. there were a lot of emotional scenes throughout the show that pulled on my heartstrings :"). i never usually cry while watching shows bec i never get emotionally invested in the characters on my first watch so that was a new experience for me.

the things i usually look for in a tv show are the small details, especially if the show was adapted from somewhere else. idk why but it sort of gives me an insight into how much the production team sought to understand the characters and how much effort they were willing to put into the show. it also gives me a few details on the characters! one thing that i noticed were the little rainbows in the outside shots, an extremely small thing for me to notice but seeing the pops of color made me so happy.

another thing that i noticed were the books that Isaac was reading. i read a few articles on the show and the major thing that people were mad about was that they cut off a major character, aled. isaac was brought as a kind of replacement for him, from my understanding. the creator wanted to use isaac as a way of branching out into newer storylines. after finishing the show, isaac really caught my eye just because he never rlly talked that much, but when he did, it was comforting and kind of gave me insight to what his character is. i guess you can say that he's my favorite character because of how much he reminds me of myself in terms of being the introverted character that nothing ever rlly happens to (reminds me of the shrinking violet trope but not rlly?? don't get mad at me lol). the small details that i noticed were the books that isaac read throughout the series. if you want to know the full list of books you can check out this link. i loved the books that he read because it sort of followed the storyline. his range was kind of wide bec i like to think that as the characters were discovering their sexualities by experience, Isaac is learning through his books. one of the books he read was gender explorers by juno roche. this book is a collection of interviews from trans children, teens, and adults, talking about their everyday experiences. i read a snippet of it online and i thought it was extremely thought-provoking. i like to think that Isaac read it to better understand elle and how to support her. another book on the list was proud by gareth thomas. gareth, nicknamed alife, was the first openly gay rugby union player for wales. i think its a cute but subtle reference to the fact that his gay bestie was playing rugby! the last book that i noticed on the list was radio silence by alice oseman, the creator of the webcomic. i saw people saying that it was a continuity error and that it was breaking the timeline which i thought was pretty funny. i think the fact that he was reading alice's book was bec the book, radio silence, is about aled. aled wasn't in the show because the author thought that aled deserved his own story.

i think this show goes in line with a lot of other shows i've been watching. sex education, young royals, and yuri on ice are great shows that i highly recommend and are kinda in the mix with this show! one thing that i do want to see is a wlw show that, for the most part, resembles the themes of shows that i mentioned. a lot of lesbian series that i've watched are vv depressing and angsty tbh and i would loovee to see a super cute, fluffy but realistic show that makes me feel how i feel while watching heartstopper!

i finished the whole series in one day and i loved every single minute. i think i might actually start reading the webcomic since i like comparing the original to the shows (that's kinda what i do with mangas). i'm excited to see season 2 and what else heartstopper has in store!!

pencil for first draft/general idea sorting, pen for solidifying those ideas, usually on a better sheet of paper & added to a File by that point. if its not already being typed out ofc

3. Does your writing ever make you cry?

ONLY if i’ve been working on it for hours at a time, typing away and i make the DUMB FUCK MISTAKE OF NOT SAVING AND LOSING THOUSANDS OF WORDS BC IM A DUMBASS. other than that, i over exaggerate my crying all the time. if i say i cried while writing something its either a) crying on the inside, or b) bc i had lost it and had to start all over again lmao

4. If your muse was a person, what would they look like?

Black-haired, blue-eyed, bisexual Goddesses. and yes that perfectly describes Diana, Zatanna and Raven, shut up i stand by this statement.

5. Which of your pieces would you choose to be remembered for?

RN, Arkham Exorcism. it’s only got the ONE chapter and not much hype around it, but i have a feeling its gonna be a sleeper hit. idk. I'm rlly passionate about it at least

6. How much have you written or worked on your WIP so far today?

Did some editing and added a little here n there to AE as well as a few sentences to other projects to keep em Fresh. so ye. today was p successful i’d say.

7. Have you ever based a piece or a portion of a piece on a dream?

Oh abso-fucking-lutely. some of my one-offs are usually bc i had a snippet idea from a dream & repurposed it to make Sense in reality & not just Dream Logic

8. Do you prefer silence, a little noise (music, ambient noises, fan, etc.) or a lot of noise when you are writing?

If I'm writing something Intense or want to Get in a Mood, i’ll sometimes put on music (either a certain artist or genre) but for the most part I work in silence with general bg noise around me.

9. Do you have any routines before you sit down to write?

Getting a glass of water/iced tea ready, refreshing some kind of social media a few times to kinda mentally prepare for Not interacting for at least a few mins at a time (if I'm trying to do a Lot of writing at once at least), and then starting in on a Key sentence or dialogue or w/e to get myself Rolling.

10. Have you ever participated in NaNoWriMo or a Camp?

Have not, and don't rlly plan to in the near future. maybe if i ever get around to really settling on a novel idea, but for now, I'm a bit more interested in taking my OCs into a comic format.
