Anyway, fangirling aside. Do you by any chance have some preferably mature or explicit fics where Stiles hasn't really returned from being the Nogitsune, even if it's dead, and everyone is afraid of him, except for Derek. Or an AU where Stiles is feared for one or another reason and again only Derek isn't, but is instead extremely drawn to it. Idk, just something with Stiles being badass or straight up kind of vile, but gets soft when Derek gets under his skin. Sigh, I think I'm confusing myself at this point. But yeah, pretty much that.

What’s your favorite thing about season 3a of Teen Wolf and why?

The tl;dr answer is almost everything.

Let's start with Tattoo- I love the way the episode sets everything up. I've mentioned it in rewatch before but I really want to explore the use of the word "ephemeral" in Tattoo. From exploring Scott's break up with Allison, to his tattoo not lasting, to the way he uses the word, even to the idea that Scott's status as a beta is ephemeral, even at this point in the series. I love the scene with Stiles and Derek holding Scott down to blowtorch his arm. I LOVE the way it opens with fucking BRAEDEN rescuing Isaac on a motorcycle.

I love the introduction of Deucalion. I love and adore the meet-cute in the elevator. Please enjoy @spikeface's brilliant fic: a certain potential for a fascinating glimpse of Deucalion's POV in that scene.

I love that Scott is Isaac's werewolf contact. I love the tension as the alpha pack stalks Braeden (I would be mad about how this ended, except she comes back) and their intro. I love the tension between Allison, Lydia, and Derek. It's a very well-done episode and definitely sets up a fantastic season so well.

Chaos Rising introduces Heather, who is friends with Danielle from Party Guessed. I was excited. We get the vault rescue, and there's some fun Steter banter. "No, you idiot, I live in a condo downtown, will forever be a favorite moment. The vault rescue! Scott's look at the end is A FAVORED moment, the blood on the chin? I cannot.

Then, we move on to Fireflies. I am weak for Scott saving those kids in the beginning, for the tension between him and Allison, and for the introduction of Cora! And then they are working with Chris. Who is still pointing a gun at Scott, but Scott is so soft and accepting of it. "I get that," he says. 🥺 Then they do a rescue! And Jennifer is there! And Derek is so worried about hurting her. Unfortunate. (When I was first watching, I leaned over to @illbeintheend and was like, "Tell me she's evil?" :D ) I think my favorite bit of Unleashed is when they pull the motorcycle swap on the twins. That is like PEAK supernatural teenager shenanigans to me. And they deserved more lower stakes (not that the twins are entirely low-stakes) shenans, overall. I also LOVE LOVE LOVE that Allison knows so much about motorcycles. Scallison motorcycle trip whenst?

Frayed. Frayed. FRAYED. BELOVED. I love so much about this episode. The sciles! the scallison! more truedemon in the elevator? and then on an escalator!! the scerek! the scisaac! BOYDDD. That moment where Scott is like "Well, I do," when Boyd doesn't care what happens to himself? Gyahhh. I CANNOT. And the the fight scene? Is SO good? Despite them having forgotten about light bulbs by 3a I find that to be one of the best choreographed fight scenes in the show. The Coach of it all? Ofc he's not gonna let them stop for a bathroom break, SIT DOWN BILINSKI. I love Frayed. AND THEN WE GET MOTEL CALIFORNIA RIGHT AFTER?? Lydia's arc in this is SOOO good. The Allison and Lydia moment where Allison is just "I believe you" and Lydia is so touched and clearly bolstered, it's one of the reasons I head canon she's had access to her powers her entire life. It's just now that people believe her about them. The Isaac and Ethan character moments? LEARNING ABOUT ALICIA (GREAT BUT OMG SHOOOOWWWW WHY IS THIS ALL WE GET???). Boyd. Cry!!! And THEN. The angst of the parking light scene at the end. I tear up still watching it. (Tbf I cry real easy.) Currents. I love Currents for the metronome scene and the way it highlights Boyd's intelligence. He has one of the best plans. And then the way it ends? That hurts me. Proto-alpha Scott almost rescuing Deaton? Bbbb. I have mixed feelings about Visionary. The Paige arc is devastating. Read my own excellent fic (i just) died in your arms for a look at my thoughts on her and Derek. I love the glimpse of pre-canon and Deucalion's backstory. I find the "unreliable narrator" bit to be a touch heavy-handed, but it's grown on me after many watched for fics.

The Girl Who Knew Too Much and The Overlooked. GYHAHHHH! I love so much about these. The scydia hand hold moment. "For someone like you to help" she says to Scott and I MELT. The big orchestra crescendo! The death of Deputy Tara and the little hints at her relationship with Stiles? The way Derek absolutely believes Scott and Stiles about Jennifer and her utter shock but quick turnaround?

The elevator scene! It's so silly and SO GREAT. I love it so much, okay. Deucalion manipulating events? The desperation as Stiles and Scott try and rescue their parents? Listen, these episodes are also so good. And then we have Scott going with Deucalion at the end of the episode. The way he has no idea what to do. He's just a lost kid, in so far over his head. And his mom and Stile's dad are missing and his (pretty damn good, too) English teacher is evil and there is Deucalion. And he has no choice and maybe he was right in that motel parking lot, it certainly feels like there's no help.

Then Alpha Pact happens. Then we get to Lunar Eclipse. And I just. The ice baths?? I have spent so much time wondering how Deaton, Isaac, and Lydia felt sitting there. Waiting. For hours. Lydia desperately holding back her screams for Allison, Scott and Stiles. Also, they all look so gooood in black. The Nemeton! The matching tattoos! The way it brings everything together to s1. The scalisaac moment with Rafael? Priceless. Love Kalia and Jennifer's showdown. It looks so cool, first of all. But there is a moment, where you think, just maybe Kali might NOT double down. And then the glass shards fly.

The bit where Deucalion is "brother against brother, how very American," cracks me up, every watch. And then he roars and tries to force Scott to kill and well, then we have an Eclipse. AND THEN AND THEN AND THEN we get the true alpha moment we've been building to since Scott threw off Peter's control in s1 and chose his own pack over Derek's in s2. That moment is so good.

For the Shipping Ask Game: Steter 💕😋

This one is probably an obvious "Ships It." 😄

What made you ship it? I can't fully remember exactly which story drew me into the Steter side of the fandom (the fic that got me into Teen Wolf was Hide a Life of War by Etharei, which is amazing), but I quickly fell in love with Steter for a wide variety of reasons. Both Peter and Stiles are fascinating and complex characters and I will admit that I have a soft spot for sarcastic, prickly characters who can also be sweet softies at times. The ones that have experienced a lot of trauma and developed the attitudes they have to try to protect themselves from the cruelties of the world. (It's also why I love Derek and Stiles.) When I did finally sit down and watch the show, it was clear that there was some great chemistry between Stiles and Peter (as well as Stiles and Derek). So that just solidified my love of the ship.

What are your favorite things about the ship? There is almost always excellent snark and banter in this ship, but mostly I love the amazingly creative takes people have on it. It's always really fun to see how others view Peter as a character because he is so complex (and because the show's writing for him was all over the place, which leaves lots of wiggle room for different takes). One of the other things I really like about the ship is more about the fandom around the ship. I find Steter shippers on the whole tend to be more welcoming and laid back and less likely to attack others about their writing choices. Don't Like Don't Read is actually observed more by most Steter shippers, which is lovely. There are definitely exceptions to this, but, on the whole, it's been a nice supportive part of the fandom for me and I have made some lovely friends over the years within the Steter shipping fandom.

Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship? The one thing that is nice is that most Steter shippers are aware enough of the pitfalls of the character's writing to accept that there are a lot of different takes and understandings of the character. So I don't think there are too many opinions that are considered unpopular. I do tend to write Peter softer than some, but I don't think it's an unpopular opinion, just a different take.

So, since we're kinda done with the time travel discussion, what other tropes do you like? XD

When it comes to Steter fics I really like the Bad Friend Scott/Bad Parent Sheriff Stilinski/Stiles gets pushed out of the pack tropes. Not that I dislike these characters in the show (well, some maybe a little) but putting them opposite Stiles is perfect for angsty and hurt/comfort scenarios which I LOVE SO MUCH. It puts Stiles and Peter in the same corner and gives off that "us against the world" vibe. Which is probably also why I like Season 1 AUs where Stiles sides with Peter.

Another thing I have a soft spot for are Eichen House fics. As someone who was put in a psychiatric clinic as a child, they hit close to home and watching (or rather reading about) fictional places like this burn is better than therapy. A+ recommend.

Soulmate/Mates/Soulmark stories are also great, though it depends on the execution.

I guess my favorite tropes no matter what ship or universe are Hurt/Comfort, Angst and BAMF [character].

Ooh, I love Teen Wolf too! I’d definitely be interested in your fics for it. I’m more of a femslash fan myself, have a huge soft spot for Allydia in particular. Maybe because how different the fics are to the source material, it’s always made me a little nervous to consider writing for it, even though it’s one of my comfort fandoms, and I’ve had little ideas for it too, but they have never sprung into anything. The fics introduced me to the fandom, and it’s one that I’ll happily read fandom blind.

Heyo Iris - glad to see another Teen Wolf fan! That fandom was such a comfort zone before I got back into writing and lost my time~

I love Allydia too! I love Allison and Lydia and their dynamic is perfect - the athletic/quick one and the intellectual/clever one? Amazing. I hate that canon screwed them over. They both deserved better.

Then and again, canon didn't really do anyone any favors... anyone except Scott McCall and his supporters (can you tell that I'm not a Scott fan? lol). Especially not Stiles and the Hales (Derek, Cora, and Peter)... and don't get me going on Talia and most of the Argents.

But yeah. Canon was a trashfire, and a total world overhaul and canon rewrite is so easy to do there... and now you can see why Twilight and Teen Wolf were the two fandoms I was choosing from.

I had a whole (rough) plan for Juugoya, just like I do with Apricity XD

Juugoya only had two primary ships, and one of them was Allydia! The other was Stiles and... a totally rewritten Peter who was aged down with a totally different backstory... who also had parts of canon Derek? But Derek also existed in that verse? I had a two-narrator approach - Stiles and Lydia. It was a wild concept with so many changes - to the same extent that Apricity's world was changed!

Sometimes I wonder what would've happened if I'd chosen Juugoya over Apricity... but I think I made the right decision. I was far more confident with the latter (I mean... Allydia and Steter are quite the huge pairs to write for!), and now look at me in my brainrot XD

I'm not going to write any Teen Wolf stuff any time soon, but who knows? I might incorporate some of the Juugoya stuff into Apricity (beyond the werewolf lore - that was heavily TW-influenced), or several years from now, I might take a stab at Juugoya and its verse.

Ah well, that'll be a ways away, if ever... but if you ever write Allydia or anything TW, I'd totally be down for it! I love them and the fandom!

Stiles shifted and let out a breathy little moan as Peter's fingers dug into the sole of his foot. The werewolf smirked, working the soft muscles there. 

"I ever tell you you're really good at that?" Stiles asked, watching Peter curl his toes, stretching his foot. He dug his thumb into Stiles' arch and Stiles groaned. 

"I'm a massage therapist," Peter chuckled. "It's my job to be good at this. And yes, you have multiple times."

"Dating a massage therapist is better than dating a bartender," Stiles hummed as Peter's fingers shifted to the meat of his foot. 

"Who did you date who was a bartender?" Peter asked, sounding jealous. Stiles glanced up at his face and grinned. 

"His name was Felix. I got free drinks for the whole year we were dating back in college."

Peter just hummed. Stiles inhaled on a wince as Peter dug at a sore spot and the werewolf hummed, lessening his pressure. 

"Your abductor hallucis is super tense," Peter grumbled. He always got huffy when he found a knot or tense muscles. Stiles huffed, wiggling his toes. 

"I love it when you talk anatomy to me," he grinned. Peter rolled his eyes, his thumb following the muscle up to his inner ankle. 

"Thought so," Peter grunted when Stiles winced again. "Flexor digitorum longus is tense too. Have you been rolling your ankles in when you stand?"

Stiles groaned, this time in annoyance. "I can't help it," he said. "My feet just naturally do that!"

"So you're not wearing the braces I got you," Peter said, mostly to himself. 

"Go back to naming my muscles," Stiles demanded. "That was more fun."

"You're wearing those braces tomorrow," Peter growled sternly, eyeing Stiles as he continued thumbing up the inside of Stiles' calf, working the muscles loose as he went. 

"Making me wear fucking ankle braces," Stiles grumbled under his breath. "It's not like I'll break if I don't wear them! I'm not fragile."

"No?" Peter asked. "Seems pretty fragile to me."

Stiles stuck his tongue out. Peter pressed his thumb in sharply and Stiles yelped. He tried to yank his leg back, but Peter's werewolf strength kept him in place. "You're being mean."

"I could stop," Peter suggested. 

"No, it feels good," Stiles sighed, letting his head fall back. Stiles didn't wait long before he spoke up again. "What muscle is that?"

He heard Peter chuckle. 

"Gastrocnemius."

Stiles hummed, letting himself relax further into the couch. Peter's fingers shifted. "And this is your tibialis anterior. It runs up your shin, just like this."

His fingers move up his shin, and Stiles smiles a little. Peter moves past Stiles' knee, his fingers pressing into the outside of his thigh. 

"This is your vastas lateralis," Peter named off, running along the muscle there. Stiles shifted again. Peter's hand moved inwards. "You've got a matching vastas medialis here."

Peter's hand moved up higher and Stiles felt his cock twitch in his boxers. "Above that is your sartorius, that runs from the inside of your thigh to your hip."

Stiles huffed as Peter's hand moved across his leg, feather light and so close to his crotch. He looked down at Peter, who smirked, leaning over Stiles' legs, his nose barely a foot away from his boxer clad crotch. 

"Keep going," Stiles ordered. 

"You got your pectineus," Peter named, running his finger up towards his stomach. He moved closer to his crotch, setting his finger on the inside of Stiles' thigh. "And the gracilis."

Stiles' cock was tenting in his boxers now, but he didn't move to touch himself. Peter didn't move to touch him either. 

His hand moved to his stomach, slipping under his t-shirt to smooth over Stiles' bare skin. "Rectus abdominis." His hand slips to his side. "External oblique."

"Peter," Stiles nearly whined, his hips shifting, looking for friction. Peter smirked, moving his hand under Stiles to grip the back of his hip, nearly cupping his ass. 

"This is your gluteus minimus," he said. Stiles hummed in relief when Peter's hand finally cupped his ass through his boxers. "You know this one."

Stiles huffed, wiggling his ass. "Gluteus maximus," Stiles answered. 

"Good boy," Peter smirked, leaning forward to kiss Stiles' hip bone. 

"Please, Peter," Stiles moaned, shifting himself closer to the werewolf. "Touch me already."

Peter laughed, his other hand joining the first on his ass, each palming one of his cheeks. Still avoiding Stiles' very obvious hard on. 

"What do you think I've been doing?" 

"Teasing me," Stiles grunted. It was finally too much. Stiles went for his crotch. Peter moves too quick for Stiles to do anything, grabbing his wrist and pinning it to the couch beside his hip. "Peter!"

"You're needy today," Peter chuckled, grabbing Stiles' other wrist to keep him from getting handsy with himself. "Usually it takes me getting to your splenius capitis before you try to touch yourself without permission."

Stiles wiggled under him, grunting at the pressure, not being able to escape. "Please, Peter!"

Peter hummed in thought, driving Stiles mad. He was hard and there was a growing wet spot on his boxers and he knew Peter could smell how desperate he was. 

"I want you to wear your ankle braces daily," Peter said, and it took Stiles a minute for his brain to catch up with where Peter was going with this. 

He let out a whine, sounding like a petulant child. "They're uncomfortable and make me look like a dork," he complained, undulating his hips. He barely managed a few passes against Peter's stomach before the werewolf pulled back. 

"They'll keep you from having knee and hip problems later in life," Peter corrected. 

"I wouldn't have knee and hip problems if I were a werewolf," Stiles countered, voice tight with frustration. He was too hard, and he couldn't get any relief. Peter huffed at him, watching Stiles try to turn his hips. It was no use, Peter had his legs pinned too. 

"Wear your braces daily and I'll let you cum."

"Every other day and use your mouth," Stiles bartered. Peter's smirk was all sharp teeth. He leaned down and dragged them over Stiles' neck. 

"Every day, and I use my hand."

"Not fair," Stiles whimpered, turning his head to give Peter more room. 

"It's your only option, sweetheart."

Stiles tried to hold out, he really did. But Peter had found Stiles' weak spot and was nibbling at it. Stiles' eyes nearly rolled into the back of his head at the feeling. 

"Fine," he broke on an exhale. "I'll wear them, just please, please let me cum!"

This is probably the most poignant thing I have ever written. The whole thing is woven with grief and love. The scenes between Lan Wangji and A-Yuan still make me a little teary-eyed when I think of them.

An Atypical Courtship (48K | M | The Untamed | LXC/JGY, WWX, LWJ)

Meng Shi dies with her debt to the brothel unpaid, and the madam decides Meng Yao needs to work it off for her. Eight years later, Lan Xichen meets him at Koi Tower.

I generally don’t write a lot of pure “romance”, so I’m really proud of how this one came out. The whole fic is just so soft and loving.

Best Post-Canon:

If Black got his way, he would never go back to Gumpa’s garage.

Sometimes I finish watching a series and so desperately crave more that I just write a couple more episodes for them, free of charge. This one is probably my favorite of that variety. I just want Black to be happy, damn it!

It’s a ridiculous statement from a ten-year-old, but he’s obviously one hundred percent sincere. For the first time since the fire, Peter feels life stir inside him, feels purpose. It’s kismet, clearly. He’ll never meet the child he would have had with Olivia. Instead he’s met this boy, this brilliant, determined, cynical child with a world of potential.

Peter kneels down in front of him so they’re at eye level. “How do you feel about doing that together?”

This might be the best fic I’ve ever written. It’s probably better than most of my original work. I love everything about it, especially the way I used outside sources like news articles and forum posts to show the passage of time. It’s just really good and I’m very proud of it.

Who else wants to give themselves some awards? I don’t really like tagging people but anyone else is welcome to steal the format and shower love upon themselves!

You’re the first person I’ve seen post critically but also rationally about Derek and I appreciate that so much.

Everyone posts about precious baby Derek and feral gremlin Stiles and I think while Stiles is definitely a feral gremlin, Derek is pretty amoral as well. That’s part of the appeal of Sterek in my opinion, not unlike the appeal of Steter. Derek has absolutely taken a lot of hits, of course he has, but he also makes super questionable choices that in my opinion disqualify him from the hero label.

Sure he gets knocked down but he gets up again and all that tub thumpin goodness, but pretending that Derek doesn’t have quite a lot of darkness embedded in his actions is ignoring a lot of his characterization. There’s violence in there that can’t be washed away with some flashbacks to his youth where he was “tricked” by Peter. I love that character, but he’s not a cinnamon roll.

I'm glad you enjoyed my thoughts on Derek! He's a very nuanced character. He definitely sees the world in more shades of grey than I think he is sometimes given credit for.

I think I can hold some of the opinions I do about Derek because I don't ship him as hard with Stiles as I do Peter (meaning both Stiles with Peter and Derek with Peter). I also think that this is once again a place where Derek being a born werewolf has more of an impact on the narrative than was actually addressed. The way he acts and thinks is always going to be a little bit outside of our standards.

I do think fundamentally that Derek does not take joy in cruelty in the same way that both Stiles and Peter express. Part of the reason I don't write much Sterek of my own is because I have a hard time seeing a relationship for them where Stiles doesn't hurt Derek intentionally or otherwise. Stiles is a very caustic person. Derek is a very sensitive person (I don't mean this as in precious soft baby uwu or whatever but just that he seems to feel things deeply and internalize things and take things very personally). The potential for true, unforgivable hurt in a dynamic like that is very high. So I enjoy a lot of other people's Sterek and their interpretations but that's why it's not something I ship as hard or write as often.

Steter:

The Devil You Know - this was the first fic where I think I deliberately skewed dark--but the point of this fic, for all that it's kind of dark and extremely messy, is that "you do not have to reach some arbitrary standard of 'good enough' in order to be good to or for someone".

Better Than Okay - the fic where "ace" does not mean "sex-repulsed", and "ace Dom" isn't an oxymoron. I love this one bc it focussed on communication and mutual meeting of needs, and because it points out that a label alone cannot tell you everything about how a person thinks, feels, and relationships.

thick series - this 'verse is always fun to think about, re-read, or revisit and write more of, bc Chaotic Dumbass Stiles & genderqueer Butch Daddy Peter are hilarious and a delight

Starving Faithful - this is an ABO fic that smashes religious trauma and sexuality together in ways that I find really meaningful, and also hot. I have a lot of feelings about this one and am really proud of how it turned out.

Unorthodox - soft, loving kink in a long-term relationship that doesn't look like what everyone thinks kink is

In Good Faith - this was a collab with the wildly talented @asarcasticwitch, and every moment working on this joint gift with her filled me with glee. Every time I open that fic I need a few minutes to stare at the art.

Ruined - this is literally just sexy Stetopher shenanigans ft. girl Stiles and trans Peter, and I still love everything about this one years later

It was a fairly uneventful afternoon. The pack had been working to get rid of the resident monster of the week that had blown into town. But, as seniors, they were also stressing about school, so Derek had decided to take on most of the burden. Alone, as usual.

Stiles had a chem test that he thought he’d aced—if he did say so himself—and breezed into the house in a fantastic mood. Harris could go suck his dick, because he’d killed that motherfucker. Actually, ew. He wasn’t sure if there was anyone he’d want to suck his dick less.

He knew his dad wasn’t home, so he snuck a congratulatory swig of bourbon. Who cares if it was presumptuous? Considering his life, and the array of supernatural bullshit that came with it, he figured he deserved to celebrate the menial things in life.

Like acing a high school test as opposed to defeating whatever supernatural creature had decided to wreak havoc in Beacon Hills.

As he ascended the stairs—fully intending to celebrate by watching a truly disgusting amount of porn and then collapsing in a come-covered heap on his bed—he heard a groan coming from his bedroom.

He paused on the stairs, bumping his backpack off his shoulder just in case he needed to use it as a weapon, and hovered over the door handle with his hand. He looked down, noticing the spots of blood on the carpet leading from the bathroom to his bedroom.

He threw his bedroom door open, brandishing his backpack as if it would defend him against whatever blood-covered monster was taking up residence in his bedroom, but soon wilted in relief when he spotted the familiar pair of boots sitting next to his bed.

There was a lump underneath his comforter, one which was groaning in pain. Stiles felt sympathetic for a split-second before he remembered that Derek had brought this on himself.

“We told you we’d help.”

“School is more important,” was all he received in reply.

Stiles sighed as he entered the room, dumping his backpack by the door. He made his way over to the bed, settling on the edge and poking at the lump just to hear Derek groan in protest again.

Stiles shook his head, grabbing the edge of the comforter and throwing it back to reveal Derek, naked as the day he was born, laying in his bed covered in blood and slowly-healing lacerations.

“You should see the other guy,” Derek snarked, turning slowly towards Stiles and opening one eye to look over at him.

Stiles snorted. “Is there a reason you’re naked in my bed?”

Derek clutched his stomach, which was slowly knitting itself back together. Stiles averted his eyes, suddenly feeling like he might see that shot of bourbon again, as well as his lunch. Ugh.

“Didn’t wanna get blood on the sheets,” Derek rasped, finally opening his eyes all the way. “Are you gonna get in here, or what? You know I heal faster with skin to skin contact.”

“Well, I should feel privileged then,” Stiles said. The bourbon was starting to burn through his limbs, making them feel soft and syrupy. And he couldn’t deny that it wasn’t a fantasy of his to be able to lay in bed with a naked Derek Hale. “Do I need to be naked too?”

Derek gave him a blank look. “Skin to skin contact, Stiles.”

“Right,” Stiles said, swallowing. His fingers fiddled with the hem of his shirt, reluctant to pull it to bare his milky-white chest, suddenly self-conscious.

“If you don’t take your clothes off in the next five seconds, I’ll rip—”

“—my throat out with your teeth,” Stiles finished, using his annoyance as an incentive to pull his shirt over his head. “Your empty threats aren’t fooling anyone, big guy.”

“How about this?” Derek said, eyes hooded and dark. “If you get naked and in this bed in the next five seconds, I just might make it worth your while.”

Safe to say, Stiles nearly ripped a hole in his underwear trying to yank them off.
