this is like nothing new but i still think it's very very fun from a purely 4th wall perspective with no in show like nuance orrrr character interpretations or anything added WHAT HAPPENED WAS. the duffers wrote robin as a love interest FOR steve to BE a love interest and not actually just a very good friend that he needed to have and he went as far as to go on this entire little rant about how much Not His Type she is to really drive it in oh she's HYPER she's in BAND she does DRAMA not a good look!!! not my type!!! she's just some alternative freak weirdo who doesn't even like me!!!!

and then maya and joe were like Have you guys heard of lesbianism and yeah that changed. but then we have this solid basis of what this perfect ultimate love interest for steve was supposed to be FROM A WRITING STANDPOINT!!! and they introduce a character who meets all these traits in season 4 oh me oh my i wonder who it could be.... it's just interesting

but then to add back the character interp bc i will Die if i don't clarify that i think steve has this very funny habit of many people entering his life who are incredibly different from who he is and he loves them A Lot and him loving the traits he loves in robin the person i would say he is closest to in Other people is also a really cute basis for me. to go of course he wants to carry eddie over every threshold they go through. and that you can admire and love traits in people without romantic love being The Ultimate Goal friendship is equally important and in some cases even more so etc etc

#and this is why pretty much all Anti steddie is good old fashioned homophobia i think those ppl would be chomping at the bit if eddie was #a girl #butthen interestingly and why i say Pretty Much All is bc if eddie was in fact a girl and they DID get close in the show it would Not be #as popular as it is obv. but i do think that's also bc gay people like gay people obviously #i think ppl would ship girl eddie with robin ... hm. and maybe stonathan revival or like fucking UGH GROSS #VECNA .. that was actually one of my biggest fears. ppl will do ANYTHING to find the designated Gay Couple #tho i do think that phenomenon is not as dramatic as ppl make it seem and again is mostly gay ppl liking gay ppl #most steddie fans r gay in fact i'd say like 98%#anyway #sts #🍦

given that the ouroboros forms clearly take some inspiration from the Evangelion mech looks, I kinda wished they had leaned more into similar themes. where’s the body horror? the existential dread of existing in a much larger, stranger form? they get their literal limbs chopped off during fights and its just kind of brushed off since they regenerate.

in general I feel like the ouroboros powers were incredibly underutilized in the story after their initial introduction and unlocking. it was just sort of the protags power that made them able to be the protags, but the actual nature of fusing with someone and seeing their memories, being one with them, being essentially a giant monster, well I just wish it was gone into more.

#like. ouroboros is considered super important in game and they talk about it a ton butthen they dont do anything with it #mio and Noahs bond does begin bc of their memory sharing which I thought was a pretty good way to get two enemies to sympathize with each #other very quickly. but those two are also destined soulmates or smth so they must've made peace without ouroboros time and time again when #they defected to the city in the past. the other fusion pairs do have a nice bond but then again so does everyone else. in the end I feel #like ouroboros mostly just amounted to a gameplay gimmick and one that people might not even use that much #in fact the thing that ends up being most important about ouroboros is that they have keys to origin through Nia's power. nothing about the #actual forms themselves needed to be like that in order for them to have those keys. it feels disconnected like they wanted big mech forms #but failed to elaborate and im sad bc I want big fucked up organic mech forms :(((( I want them to suffer (lovingly)#xenoblade #xenoblade chronicles

imagine if bluestar x crookedstar was actually real and bluestar was silverstream’s mom and she brought her over to riverclan instead of moss, misty, and stone, and silverstream getting with graystripe and dying as a result is like tragic irony on both parts

#man like... ik crookedstar is a depressing character all on his own and he ABSOLUTELY wouldve been defined by a forbidden romance #if he actually had one #the same way bluestar herself kinda is #but imagine. just imagine. mapleshade orchestrating the entire thing to recreate her own issue #and make everyone suffer this time #and crooked basically gets shunned by his clan's ableism and clings to bluefur bc shes one of the few that accepts him #so he risks that cross clan connection to have some validation and love in his life. butthen the deputyship happens. and she cant visit #and she gives up their daughter to him. and later. bluestar learns that said daughter got with one of her warriors and died #and now her grandkits are here. but she cant do anything. she cant reveal that theyreher family bc itll make things so much worse #and crookedstars being treated better now but he just lost his family. and history repeated bc he couldnt warn her #like it would have been so tragic. it wouldve hurt so bad. man #ik this isnt really a writing flaw bc silverstream and mistyfoot and all these guys were made at different points in development #crookedstar didnt even have a character really until his own book and barely a little inbluestar's book #so this isnt me going like ''ugh why didnt they do this this is way better'' its just ''huhthis would be a cool au''#echoed voice
