Does anyone ever think really hard about Grian's inability to team? To stick with the same people he'd allied with at first after it shows the slightest hint of going downhill? Or about everyone's knowledge to be weary with teaming with Grian as he's notoriously disloyal with his teammates?

Cause the gutting thing is, he isn't. He isn't disloyal. He doesn't have an inability. In fact, I'd argue he is one of the few people who are tragically loyal to a fault, at least in most cases.

In Last Life, although he killed both Jimmy and Mumbo, he still felt the need to return to his allies after he'd turned red, feeling betrayed when they threw him out for being red. After that, he stuck with Joel and didn't dare betray him.

In Double Life, although he cheated on Scar and constantly complained, he stuck by Scar almost obsessively. His aim to protect him, even if he said it was for his own benefit, was painful. He didn't try to leave Scar behind like Cleo or Scott, he didn't try to sever the bond between him and Scar, nothing. It was almost like he was desperate.

In Limited Life, he was beyond loyal to his boys. He was loyal until the very end. And although he immediately switched to join the Nosy Neighbours, he didn't try to team with anyone permanently until Jimmy and Joel were dead. His silence when he realised he was truly the last Bad Boy was deafening. He hid his grief by saying that he had a backup team, just to save face, even though he built a gravestone for both boys and grieved them meaningfully.

In Secret Life, it wasn't as if he was fine with having no allied, like someone would be if they truly didn't care for loyalty, he was desperate once again. Having no teammates later in the game would hurt him, yes, but his desperation felt lonely, not power hungry. He didn't dare betray Etho nor Cleo, and stuck by them until the end. He was losing his mind on his hill before he teamed with the two, he needed to have close allies to depend on.

Now, in Wild Life, Mumbo is out of the series and Grian goes to say he needs to find some more friends, even with Skizz still around. Now, I don't think this is a power play thing, it's a desperation thing. He's hiding his grief by pretending everything is fine because if it wasn't he'd be vulnerable. For the past couple sessions, he had been working tirelessly to help get Skizz a kill so he could get off of being a red life, even to his own detriment.

Grian doesn't half ass teams. He will not team with everyone. However, he gets vulnerable when the ones that he connects to die.

Because that's how it went about in 3rd Life. He allied with Scar throughout the whole game, it starting simply because Grian felt guilty about what he'd done to Scar. He felt guilty. He stuck with him the whole game, undying loyalty, and all it ended in was him standing at the top with his best friend's blood drying on his hands.

To him, being loyal to someone like he was in 3rd Life ended badly. So, to avoid that, he found a way to still stay teamed with people, but not be left at the top of that mountain again, alone, even if his teammates die.

But so far, the curse keeps following him. He will always outlive his teammates. And this season is following the pattern, again, Mumbo dying right in front of his eyes, so close, yet so far. Always in a distance where he could've done something different, and he'd still have a teammate.

He may move from person to person, but only when they are dead or reject him. He is the forever Widow, cursed to always face his consequences, over and over and over again.

I know everyone is freaking out over Deltarune, and Silksong, and Mario Kart World, and many other things from the recent Nintendo direct (as well as the one we had before it), all of which are very fair things to freak out about

But I would like to bring your attention to one thing in specific, that being

Oh Thor, you accidental brilliant bastard!

But now Odin looks sane again, he doesn’t punish Thor for treason and even expresses affection for him. So Thor gladly buries all his doubts about his father’s righteousness, blaming it on him being overwhelmed by grief, and leaves Asgard believing it to be safe in Odin’s hands. He doesn’t doubt or question Odin’s integrity ever again, even when confronted with his lies and war crimes.

Because Loki, who Thor is actually talking to, doesn’t know that Thor was beginning to question Odin’s ways. Instead of an authentic portrayal Loki plays Odin as he wishes he was: wise, fair, merciful, able to admit his mistakes, and most importantly able to express fatherly affection even while acting as King. And in doing so he accidentally becomes his enabler, thwarting Thor’s disillusionment. It is a white lie, born out of love and meant to protect Thor from the truth of how far gone Odin has become. Sounds familiar? This is the most Frigga thing Loki has ever done.

So trying to impersonate Odin, Loki accidentally became Frigga. And Thor hit the bullseye without even knowing he was shooting.

the idea that demise controls not just ganondorf but really anything deemed 'evil' seems to be very widespread in the fandom and im wondering where that came from?

demise was one throw away end boss that, even with the unfortunate lore implications and damage it did to any other antagonist even in retrospect, was never associated with controlling others? (isnt it mostly ghirahim that summons or corrupts things in skyward sword too?) is it just bc he is the (said to be) the ultimate origin of all things "bad" so clearly he is the one controlling everything even post mortem? he is never relevant again and plays an honestly tiny role in the very game he is introduced in (the only one too)- we dont even know what he is capable of given how little he does even in his own fight- he very clearly dies at the end, doesnt fi even say whatever is left of him will be fully eradicated within the master sword??

Wolfwood looks different. Different than even the hundreds of ghosts—threads of shimmering grey shot through his temples and fine lines splintered out around his eyes like someone dragged a feather through damp clay. Like he’s aged almost decade in the year since he— “Died,” Vash rasps. “You died.” Wolfwood’s eyebrows shoot up in an expression that Vash has remembered so many times that his own faulty memory rewrote over the real thing. “This isn’t—how?” he asks, voice warping around the cold static clogging his mouth. “You ever hear of Jesus Christ?” Wolfwood grins, and it’s exactly the same. Like no time has passed. Like he’s so proud of his stupid joke. Like Vash didn’t lay his still-warm corpse in the ground and bury him on the other side of that building. Like the inexorable inspiral of a binary star, Vash is drawn back to the orphanage in December and the unexpectedly empty grave of his dearest friend. Or, Vash and Wolfwood and all their tomorrows.

I cannot believe I haven't already posted this. This is simply THE post-canon Wolfwood lives fix-it fic of all time, I nearly consider it required reading for all things Vashwood.

The amount of unspoken love and care and importance between these two is absolutely breathtaking. The trauma they both have is so important too, everything is very not okay after what they've been through, but they heal together and hold each other through it. The fucking pining is immaculate, down to the way poor Wolfwood is really throwing himself at a Vash who is so afraid of intimacy that he runs away from the thing he wants the very most.

It's also really fucking funny and cute. I'll let you read all the best parts for yourself and not ruin them, but they're dorks. They're such fucking dorks and Livio is the number one Vashwood shipper and I love them all so much.

😈 DIADOP WEEK ☎️ day 1 prompt - innerworld.

When I first met you, everything was on fire. Everything hurt. You made it all bearable. Sometimes I’d feel you close by, hiding bad things from me (from us). It’s nice to finally see you, boss…where we first met.

Ramble below cut~

Their innerworld bears a similarity to the Sardinia coastline close to where they grew up near Olbia. Many times as a child they would escape to these secluded beaches at dawn and dusk, their only place of peace and solitude before tourists inevitably appeared. Pretty little pink flowers common during the summer months capturing joy at a young age with all the curious insects they’d attract. For many years Doppio (and the others) only ever saw Diavolo as a dark shadow, if at all….knowing how much the boss valued anonymity, Doppio never dared imagine what he may look like. Those were traitorous thoughts he’d most certainly discover….the boss always seemed to find out what was on their mind, or bothering them, after all. Of course he could, he’s the boss of Passione, nothing escapes his knowing. So consider Doppio more than a little surprised when, after the events of vento aureo, they finally discover just who the boss is…but that’s a ramble for another day.

Also of note regarding how they see each other within; Doppio has a similar appearance to their canon self, looking more youthful and being shorter. While Diavolo is a bit more muscular. Sometimes they may also look more masc or fem bc genderfluid.
