Running Interference
Summary: Kurt and Blaine don't want to get set up on blind dates. But when their friends get involved, what they want doesn't really matter.
Rated: T
Words: 3.8k
~~~~~
“You should let me set you up with someone,” Rachel says apropos of nothing. Kurt blinks tiredly at her. It’s a Thursday morning. He hasn’t even had coffee yet. He feels ambushed.
“No.”
“Kurt. When you came to New York, you wanted to experience everything this city has to offer. What exactly are you experiencing, watching Real Housewives in your pyjamas every night?”
“I go out. I do things. I came to Callbacks with you just last week,” Kurt mutters defensively.
“With me and Jesse. And Santana and Dani. You see the problem here?”
“Yes. You’re awful.”
Rachel glares. “My friend Sam knows a guy that would be perfect for you.”
“You mean you don’t even know the actual guy you're trying to set me up with? Hard pass.”
“He’s cute. And he sings,” Rachel wheedles. “And I’m pretty sure he’s gay. If Sam can ever truly be trusted with these assessments.”
“Very encouraging. And my answer remains no.”
“Just think about it.”
Kurt sighs.
Anime only watchers and people who aren't caught up with the Manga, BEWARE... Cuz I'm about to discuss Spy X Family Mission 87... You have been warned...! 👌
[SPOILERS AHEAD FROM THIS POINT ON]
Man, it's been awhile... BUT WE'RE FINALLY BACK BABY!! 😆
And as I suspected, today's chapter turned out to be a pretty chill one...!! 😄 So let's talk about it, shall we? 😁
First off...:
Tumblr media
WHAT KIND OF EXCUSE IS THAT FIONA (AND OR WISE!?!?) 😂 If I heard that someone fell from the fourth floor to the first floor, I WOULD'VE ASSUMED THAT THEY DIED!! 😵
(Also, Mr. Gorey from Mission 67 shows up, nice[?] to him again...! I guess... 😌)
Anyway, Mr. Gorey is there to drop off the medical files of the VIP patients, but then the "nurse" comes in to tell him to leave Fiona to rest, and I just as I suspected, the "nurse" was actually Handler!! 😆
Tumblr media
It always nice to see Handler / Sylvia and it's also nice see how much she cares for her agents...!! 💗😊💗
We also get some confirmation that Fiona's training in woods might've actually saved her from being in even worse shape than she already is...!! 😆
Tumblr media
I LOVE THIS CALLBACK!! 😆
After that, this happens...:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
HAHAHAHAHA!! 🤣😂
This just confirms for me that Handler is the goat and can read her agents like a book!! 😖
After seeing what Fiona was up to, we cut back to the Forgers and...:
Tumblr media
OH MY GOSH...!! THE PROGRESS!!! 💗😍💗
We're finally getting confirmation that Yor's cooking is GETTING BETTER...!! 🥹
I've been hoping since Mission 24 that we'd progressively hear about how Yor's cooking was getting better and better...!! But, that didn't really happen until JUST NOW...
...IN MISSION 87...!! 😤
Oh Endo, what am I gonna do with you...? 😌
Moving on, after breakfast Loid heads to his room to rest while Anya and Yor spend some time together...!! 💗🥹💗 Yor asks Anya if she had fun at the zoo, which of course she did, and shows her mama what she got at the zoo...!! And just like in Short Mission 3, Bond gets jealous...!! 😁
Tumblr media
But instead of ripping up her new plush pal like he did with Agent Penguinman, he ruffles his fur to look like a lion to get Anya's attention!! 🤭
After seeing Bond look like a lion, Anya asks Bond to try to mimic other animals to varying degrees (Elephant Bond was not a success, while Giraffe Bond was... 🤭😂🤣 You get idea...!! 😁)
After that, Yor fixes Bond's hair brushing him and seeing how happy he looks, Anya wants to get her hair brushed as well...!! 💗
Tumblr media
This just warms my heart to the highest degree...!! 💗🥹💗 (I am loving all this BONDing time between the three of them...!! 💗😭💗)
Then... The man, the myth, the legend; FRANKY RETURNS!! 😆
And Anya tries to have him get his hair did, but Yor declines because she thinks no one will recognize him...!! 🤣
Tumblr media
Poor Franky...!! 😌
Finally, Loid hears the commotion and comes out of his room, only for him to immediately go back into his room...!! 🤣
And that was Mission 87, a fun return after a four week wait that honestly felt like forever!! Seriously, I don't know why, but the wait for this chapter really felt like we waited TWO WHOLE MONTHS instead of just one...!! 😵
Besides my horrible sense of time, this chapter was an absolute delight...!! 😊 From Sylvia and Fiona's interaction to Yor and Anya's mother daughter time (with Bond), I enjoyed it a ton...!! 💗😁💗
I'm excited to see what's next for our favorite manga / anime family, the Forgers and what Endo is gonna put them through!! 😁
But before I go, I'd like to do something that haven't really done before, recommend a series I've recently became a fan of...!! 😄 The series that I'm recommending is called Undead Unluck...!! I started reading it two Thursdays ago, and...
I ABSOLUTELY ADORE IT...!! 💗😍💗
It's about an undead guy who meets an unlucky girl that causes bad things to happen whenever someone touches her... The undead guy (Andy) wants the the unlucky girl (Fuuko) to give him THE GREATEST DEATH EVER, and then their journey begins...!!
I don't know if it'll be everyone's cup of tea (especially from just that short synopsis that I just gave 😅), but I think that if y'all just give it a shot and stick with it for a bit, you'll (hopefully) be enthralled by the amazing cast of characters, their development and the crazy world that they live in...!! 😁 (Or you could also just watch the anime for it that's coming out in October, but I still suggest reading as well...!! 😊👍)
Tumblr media
Sorry to disrupt my usual flow of my reviews to promote another manga, but I honestly haven't had another manga that has grabbed my attention this much in recent years since Spy X Family and Chainsaw Man, and I just want more people to give a chance after I myself ignored it for years...!!
Anyway, that's all I'll gotta say because now I gotta go read Chapter 173 of Undead Unluck since I finally caught up to the series last night...!! 😁 So until the next mission, take care, be safe out there and be kind to one another...!! Later!! 👋😁
'I've got to pinch myself': Paul Sun-Hyung Lee on playing Iroh in 'Avatar: The Last Airbender'
Presumably the people outside a local car dealership a couple of years ago who heard Paul Sun-Hyung Lee let out a “huge whoop” during a phone call with his agent didn't fully grasp the significance of that celebratory sound.
The Toronto actor beloved as the internet’s “Appa” thanks to “Kim’s Convenience” and a popular part of the “Star Wars” universe, too, was about to become the internet’s favourite uncle.
Lee had landed the role of Uncle Iroh in “Avatar: the Last Airbender,” Netflix’s much anticipated live-action reimagining of a well loved animated series (not to be confused with James Cameron’s “Avatar” films).
“Honestly, I have moments where I think I’ve got to pinch myself because, even as a youngster, I never would have believed that I could be a part of these things, because I never saw anybody who looked like me reflected in any of these shows,” the Korean Canadian actor said, reflecting on his roles in “Airbender” and the “Star Wars” spinoffs “The Mandalorian” and “Ahsoka,” in which he plays the popular Captain Carson Teva.
As Iroh in “Airbender,” Lee has stepped into the robes of another fan favourite character.
First, a bit of a primer: “Avatar: The Last Airbender,” which debuts Thursday, is about a 12-year-old boy, the “Avatar” of the title, on a quest to save the world from the rapacious Fire Nation, which has gone to war with the Earth, Water and Air peoples. Despite his youth, Avatar Aang (played by Vancouver actor Gordon Cormier) is a powerful “bender,” honing his ability to manipulate air, water, earth and fire.
Aang and his friends — Katara, a water bender (played by Indigenous Canadian Kiawentiio), and her brother, Sokka (American actor Ian Ousley) — are being hunted by fire bender Prince Zuko (American Dallas Liu), who’s accompanied by his wise and compassionate Uncle Iroh, himself a fire bender and a former Fire Nation general.
If that all sounds kind of geeky, well, that’s right up Lee’s alley.
The 51-year-old has well-established nerd bona fides as a fan of “Star Wars” and other science fiction (he shares his love of the genre on his Bitterasiandude Inc. YouTube channel). He caught up with the original “Avatar: The Last Airbender” (which aired on Nickelodeon from 2005 to 2008, then moved to Netflix) while he was still working on the CBC comedy “Kim’s Convenience” (2016-21), in which he played a South Korean immigrant who runs a convenience store in Toronto.
In 2018, as new fans were discovering “Kim’s” worldwide after the series moved to Netflix, the streaming giant announced its remake of “Airbender,” setting in motion Lee's ascent into another dream role.
“Almost immediately I got fan casted (as Iroh) by all these people on the internet,” Lee said in a Zoom interview. “I was very, very flattered, but I was doing ‘Kim’s.’”
A few years later, though, “Kim’s” had ended and Lee got an audition for what was billed as a basketball movie called “Blue Dawn,” as a coach who had come out of retirement to guide his nephew.
Although he’s “more of a baseball, hockey guy,” Lee taped the audition and then forgot about it, until a callback a couple of months later. Except now, the retired basketball coach Howard was named Iroh.
“There’s only one Iroh that I know of,” said Lee. “And so I remember thinking, ‘Oh my God, this is for “Avatar”’ … right away I got super nervous. The stakes went up and I really wanted this part.”
But, after doing a chemistry read with Liu and not hearing anything for a couple of weeks, Lee assumed he had missed out on the role, which is part of the lot of an actor … until his agent called just as Lee and his wife were about to sign a lease on a new vehicle.
“So I excused myself, leaving the salesman completely befuddled. I went outside and that’s when I learned that I landed the role. And immediately let out this huge whoop. I had forgotten that I was in a public area and there were lots of people outside, and they all suddenly looked at me and I said, ‘It’s OK. It’s good news. It’s great news.’”
There was one more hurdle to overcome, though.
“Airbender,” which shoots in Vancouver, overlapped Lee’s schedule for “The Mandalorian,” which films in Los Angeles. And playing Iroh meant shaving off the middle part of the moustache that Lee sports as Captain Teva.
“Luckily I was able to have my cake and eat it at the same time,” said Lee. “Lucasfilm was like, ‘Oh, we’ll just build him a little fake moustache to put on while he’s shooting (“The Mandalorian”).’”
Lee isn’t certain how familiar the producers of “Airbender” were with his work on “Kim’s Convenience” — it's an established fact that “Mandalorian” producer and director Dave Filoni was a “Kim’s” fan before he cast Lee — but he considers his latest job to be another of the many blessings accruing from the CBC series.
“‘Kim’s Convenience’ was such a wonderful launching pad for my career,” Lee said. “I mean, that show was kind of my coming out party in terms of the film and TV world.”
Lee, who was born in South Korea but immigrated to Canada with his parents when still an infant, struggled to find good film and TV roles as a young actor in the 1990s and early aughts.
After graduating from drama school at the University of Toronto, he did a lot of theatre work, but onscreen “I played a lot of doctors, a lot of store clerks, a lot of window dressing-type caricatures, not characters.”
And yet, he persisted.
Despite not seeing himself reflected in the television he devoured as a kid and from which he developed his love of storytelling, “I thought, well, heck, if there’s nobody (else Asian) out there, maybe there’s a shot for me to get in … that was kind of foolish thinking because maybe you’re the only one because a lot of people have tried and haven’t been able to get through. But I was just too stupid and too stubborn to quit, so just kept at it.”
Now Lee hopes to provide inspiration for the young Asian actors coming up behind him.
On the set of “Airbender,” which has many Asian actors in its cast, Lee became particularly close with Liu, the 22-year-old Chinese-Indonesian-American actor playing his beloved nephew. Just as Iroh is protective of Zuko, for whom he becomes a surrogate father, Lee said he wanted to nurture Liu.
“Every chance that I got to just sort of give him little pearls of wisdom based on my experiences … I couldn’t help but want to see him succeed,” Lee said. “This kid is a superstar,” he added.
Now that Lee himself is part of two much-loved pop culture franchises, “my cup runneth over,” but he still has entries on his acting bucket list.
“Not to sound greedy, but I’d love to do ‘Star Trek’ because that's filming right in our backyard. I’d love to do a ‘Ghostbusters.’ All those geeky playgrounds I never got a chance to play in. I want to be in a rom-com. I want to be in a Western, the genres that I grew up watching …
“But I’ll take it as it comes and I’m grateful for what I have. And if this is the only thing I ever do again I will be thankful for it because a lot of people don’t get these opportunities.”
OKAY. THEORIES.
(for those unaware, it seems that oli sykes of bring me the horizon fame was one of the people who put his address in the fall out boy machine over at this here webbed site and he got a little something in the mail.)
the package consists of a letter similar to the one that fans got on new year's day, but dated for January 19, 2023, and is a whole lot shorter. It simply says "Love from the Other Side" and came with a pink seashell, which has "1 of 13" written inside it.
so. like i said. THEORIES.
13 (assumed) seashells means there are 13 tracks on fob8. i find this very plausible. the use of "13" probably means sOMETHING and this seems the most likely.
1 of 13 means a single is coming 1/13 - friday the thirteenth. i also find this plausible, though that might just be overly optimistic on my part. i think releasing a single on friday the 13th, given their love of pop culture and the "spooky" aesthetic they were going for during hmt, would be something they'd do. plus fridays are optimal release dates for singles. the (now deleted) dcd2 instagram post claimed we'd see the single at the "end of the month" so if that info is legit, i'm not sure the 13th counts as an "end of the month" release date lol
1 of 13 seashells means we get a 13 day countdown from the new single. less plausible imo, but doing the math (and counting today), that gives us a date of 1/22, which is a sunday and not a super optimal time for a single release date.
the letter dated january 19th means a single is coming 1/19. less plausible, in my eyes. that's a thursday, so again, not as optimal a time for single release. but january 19th 2023 is the 5th anniversary of mania's release, and i'm not sure why they would date the letter as such unless it means something. this could very well mean an intentional link to mania, however. considering mania was initially teased with a lot of beach imagery ("mania beach resorts," the wave aesthetic), i find it interesting that we're getting a deliberate callback to that.
the new single name will be "love from the other side." possible. we've gotten a lot of little zingers to tease this whole era (if you build it, they will come; pink seashell beach; the beach was never real; welome to the other side of the apocalypse) so i'm not sure i'm ready to say that this is for sure going to be the Name. it's possible it's an important line that will show up in the single, whenever that drops (lyrics for "hold me tight or don't" were initially previewed in the credits of "the last of the real ones" mv so this would scan for fob)
there will be an oli sykes feature. i have no goddamn idea if this was a marketing thing or if oli sykes is just a big fall out boy fan and happened to receive the first seashell lmao. it's possible he might tour with them but i have no clue.
So fun fact I normally try to avoid Tumblr between Thursday and when I finally get to listen to the new Protocol episode because that seems easier than constantly blocking and unblocking the spoilers tags, but also this is my preferred social media site so it generally results in a vicious cycle of me hopping in Tumblr, and either VERY CAUTIOUSLY scrolling (or scrolling only through specific tags), or completely forgetting until I see even a HINT of something Protocol related (even if it's not spoilers) and figuratively running away screaming.
As always, you can find the full evolving red string board here. It's getting real long. I'm trying to decide if I want to start a fresh one for season 2 or if I want to see how long and unwieldy that puppy can really get. What do you guys think?
Today is Monday, 3/4/24. Episode 8 came out on 2/29/21.
“Talkers”
Norris (Voice: Martin?/ Alex)
Episode 1: “Reanimation (Partial) -/- Regret [Email]”. The Stranger? The End? The Dark? The Lonely? The Flesh? Arthur (Nolan?).
Episode 3: "Infection (full body" -/- Arboreal [Journal entry]". The Spiral? (Paranoia? Auditory, visual and olfactory hallucinations) The Lonely? The Corruption. The Flesh? (Callbacks to the Flesh Garden from S5)
Episode 8: "Architecture (liminal) -/- hunger [coursework]". The Spiral. The Lonely. (Statement giver has an ex-wife. Witnesses strange mist. Fog?) The Stranger? The Vast. The Flesh. The description of the space reminds me a bit of Mag 150: Cul-De-Sac. The description of the diners and the way they were speaking reminds me of Mag 48: Lost in the Crowd.
Common Themes: Hearing the voice of a dead/ missing loved one? Loneliness
Chester (Voice: John?/ Jonny)
Episode 1: “Transformation (eyes) -/- Tresspass [chat log]”. Magnus Institute, The Eye. (Involves a forum; the Web?).
Episode 5: "Disappearance (undetermined) -/- Invitation [Internet blog]". The Eye (Movies. Movie name: "Voyeur" "Must be seen to be believed"...). The Web? (Another website?). (Very reminiscent of Mag 110: Creature Feature.) The "poor old guy" at the theater is totally an Eye avatar, right? Kinda gives me "Simon Fairchild when he was first introduced" vibes.
Episode 7: "Agglomeration (miscellany) -/- congregation [email]". The Stranger. The Burried. The Desolation. Possibly all of them if my theory about the items the Volunteers brought in is correct...
Unsure if this is Eye related like the other statements were. This is also the first "Chester" statement where the source material wasn't from a website or blog, which don't have the same expectation of privacy that the sources of the other statements do. Email, though, so still internet related, and this seems to be an open letter rather than personal correspondence, so it still might align with the theme.
Agustus: (rare?)
Episode 4: “Collection (blood) -/- musical [letter]” The End. The Lonely? The Slaughter.
Letter writer thinks passing on his violin might allow a part of himself to live on in his nephew. Very Jonah Magnus of him.
Music teacher hears “faraway music”, then goes crazy and throws himself out of the carriage and dies. Reminiscent of Mag7 and the Piper? The merchant’s wares include dice (Mag 29?). Got the violin from him (took his blood?). Effect of the violin reminiscent to Grifter’s Bone (Mag 42).
(Oliver Bardwell lol very funny guys)
Non-Talkers (?)
Episode 2: "Transformation (full) -/- dysmorphic [video call]". The Spiral? The Flesh. The Stranger. Ink 5oul (avatar/ entity?)
Episode 6: "Injury (needles) -/- intimidation [999 call] "Corruption? The Spiral? The Flesh? The End?
"Needles" reminds me of Michael!Distortion.
Notes and Thoughts:
I think we've all been a bit off about the theme of the Norris statements. The common theme isn't I lost a loved one; I can almost hear their voice..." The common theme is loneliness. Like yeah, the statement giver mentions being divorced, but it doesn't seem to be a central driving factor for him the way it was with the other two Norris statements. I think it's just that those two were lonely because they lost a loved one and had isolated themselves in one way or another because of it, and this guy was lonely because he got trapped in a liminal space.
Alice sounds really tired. What's up with that? (Also, considering how much she continues to seem to enjoy messing with people, I'm still convinced she has some connection to the Web.)
GERRY?!!! (not a coincidence. The credits call him Gerry Keay. Also same VA, but I totally didn't recognize him at first because he sounds happy???) GG??? (Credits say Sue Sims as Gertrude Robinson!!!) "Grandson" you say? For realsies? Or did you adopt him (again kinda)? Or is it a cover like it was the last time. Gertrude's word choice of "good luck hunting" was weird, huh...? Is this actually something big or are they just cameos because Alex and Jonny like to mess with us. I trust nothing. Why did the Magnus Institute have a "gifted kids" program? And is Sam just saying that as a cover story or is it true and that's why he's been so interested the whole time? (Reminds me a bit of certain elements of the Storage Papers...)
Celia is doing "a favor for Georgie"?!!!
Is this OUR Georgie or the TMP world Georgie? How much of a connection is there between TMA Gerry, Gertrude and Georgie and TMP Gerry, Gertrude and Georgie?
I wonder if the episode coming out on 2/29, a date that only exists every 4 years, and the episode being about liminal spaces was on purpose or just a happy coincidence.
Callback to that one time I wrote a 2-page essay about a book for fun
Be me
13/14 year old girl with an unhealthy obsession with books
currently hyper fixated on Skyward
Seminary class lets you doodle on the whiteboard
draw Boomslug
Someone else draws a sea bunny
someone draws hearts, and now there’s ship art
my doofy ass decided to write on how the baby’s magic would work.
nobody knows wth skyward is
writes 2 WHOLE PAGES OF ME EXPLAINING HOW THE MAGIC WOULD WORK
prints it up
tapes it below Boomslug and Sea Bunny
the original drawer of the sea bunny writes “why” on the bottom
I was bored. Be afraid, mortal.
Sorry this is a tangent but what reminded me of this
Be me now
15, this month has been a Thursday and I slept through most of English (1st)
we have to submit a research question about a topic that we interest in, we have to write 3-4 pages on it.
question is due as class ends
I had jokingly asked my teacher if I could do it on fantasy technology (fabrials because I’m currently re-reading Stormlight for the 3rd time in 15 months)
she says yes
later I panic and say “how do fabrials work” as my research question.
I now have to write 3-4 pages on Fabrials.
I cannot tell it this is a win or a loss
… yes.
Child, that Station 19 episode was spectacular. I knew from the moment that Maya and Carina said that they will come home, I knew something bad was happening but not to Maya. And then to cut to Carina finally being pregnant??? Ya’ll are sick and twisted. The callbacks, nostalgia, visuals were amazing and I almost cried. I will see y’all for next Thursday for the final episode of the show. But hopefully not the last. #SaveStation19
time after time (because its a funny name) approximately 3 years 2 months and 19 days into the future s'il vous plait
specific & unusual asks game!!!
eeeeeeee 🤭🥹😊💞☺️✨💓 this is gonna be very short and purposefully a little vague bc i don’t want to spoil the epilogue but here’s a quick and fluffy little callback to a particularly sappy and mildly angsty moment in chapter 6, three years, two months, and 19 days later 💞💓💕💖💗✨💞
The end of January brought a biting cold that seemed to embed itself into Sirius’ bones. The commute to work had become more of a waddle to the subway down the street, hopping down the stairs and straining to get his arm high enough to scan his MetroCard around the layers and layers of sweaters and jackets and scarves wrapped around his body. Winter in New York meant looking ridiculous, sporting frizzy hat hair four months out of the year and sweating under two puffer jackets to keep the chill out on the way to work, but it was a small price to pay to live in the city again, happier and lighter outside of the looming threat of being sent back to Lenox Hill.
The problem now was that he woke up freezing, curled into a ball under the heavy duvet at seven in the morning on a Saturday he was supposed to be sleeping in. Watery gray light filtered in from the windows on the other side of the room as he squinted one eye open, frowning at the empty space on the right side of the bed and grumbling unhappily to himself. That’s why he was awake two hours early; his big and tall and gorgeous—and usually very cuddly—personal heater was gone.
That simply wouldn’t do.
Sirius slid out of bed with a list of demands ready to go. It’d been a long fucking week, what with the new exhibit opening and trainings at the rink in Brooklyn every other night, and Remus had promised a relaxing weekend after Sirius had stumbled home exhausted from the opening on Thursday night. A relaxing weekend did not call for waking up by himself, let alone by himself and cold, and his sleep-muddled brain was was ready to argue about it.
He shuffled down the hall with what he was sure was a comical kind of frown, stopped in the doorway to the kitchen-slash-dining-slash-living room and spotted the culprit there at the table. He was hunched over his laptop, typing furiously for a moment before sitting back with a huff, squinting at the screen, and Sirius wanted to smile. Of course Remus was up working, he was always working nowadays—writing papers and prepping for exams, meeting with his thesis advisor once a month and worrying to Sirius about it over the phone immediately after. Sirius had gotten very good at soothing his thesis-related anxiety, whether that meant talking him off the proverbial ledge or making him close the laptop and go the fuck to sleep, and his Remus-attuned instincts were telling him this was a go the fuck to sleep kind of moment.
And if that meant Sirius got another couple hours of nice, warm sleep himself, well that was just icing on the cake.
He padded through the living room, dodging the giant armchair that was definitely too big for the space but Remus argued was too soft and comfortable to get rid of, and wedged himself against the wall behind Remus’ chair. He bent over a bit to slide his hands around his shoulders, tugged him back and pressed his nose to the blissfully warm skin of his neck.
Remus turned his head a bit in surprise—he’d been too busy reading what Sirius could now see was his open thesis draft to notice he’d been coming—and leaned back into him, took one of his hands and muttered “Hi, baby,” against his knuckles. “You’re up early.”
“Cold,” Sirius mumbled, refusing to remove himself from the delicious heat of Remus’ skin for even a moment.
“You’re cold?” Remus asked, a fond little smile in his voice that Sirius had memorized the shape of a long time ago.
“Too cold without you.”
“I’m sorry,” Remus said through another kiss to his knuckles. “I just have to send this back for review by eight, I was coming right back.”
Sirius grumbled something incoherent even to his own ears, gave a light, displeased scrape of his teeth to his neck and said, “Come now, ‘m tired.”
“Hold on just a second,” Remus said, drawing little shapes on the back of Sirius’ palm to try and soothe him into patience. “Let me save it and send this email.”
Sirius supposed that was reasonable, but he made sure to voice his complaints at being kept waiting in the form of squeezing Remus tighter and mumbling vague threats against his neck. Remus just smiled, took Sirius’ promise to throw all of his clothes into the street in stride because he was a saint, and only reread his email twice before hitting send and closing his laptop.
“Okay,” he said, tapping Sirius’ arm twice in an attempt to get him to let go. “Come on.”
“You come on,” Sirius mumbled, holding him tighter, and Remus snorted a laugh before he got with the program and wormed out of his chair with Sirius’ arms still locked around his shoulders. Sirius realized quickly that he had miscalculated a bit, and when his feet threatened to leave the ground when Remus stood up straight, he moved his grip around his middle instead.
It was better, he decided as he pressed the side of his face between Remus’ shoulder blades, hands tight around his waist to feel a breathy little laugh vibrate against his ribs as much as he heard it. Remus’ hands circled his own as he started a shuffle back across the room, and Sirius smiled against his back as he was led back to bed.
