you said you wanted asks about your au, a since im. lowkey interested in both tma and dragons. well. can you perhaps disclose information about it

Callum is a Dark dragon who takes the form of a young child (callum is still a child, but he's 13 while his child form is 9). This is so adults try to help him, and then he turns into his real form to spook and maybe kill them.

His real form can be seen even when he is a child, appearing as a large shadow (depicted here)

i don't think i'll ever get over how fucking brilliant it was to have callum brodie be the avatar of the dark domain.

i remember i literally gasped at that. just... i'm too sleep-deprived to coherently articulate my thoughts but just the idea that children go there before their fears have shapes makes so much sense.

and it makes you think about how callum probably didn't know what he was afraid of. which is a really good representation of how kids process trauma. you don't have the vocabulary to explain to yourself or anyone else why you feel scared and hurt and powerless. so it comes out as anger. as bullying. as acting like you're better than everyone else.

of course jon showed callum to martin. they couldn't kill callum. honestly, they can't even really be angry at callum. he's fucking thirteen and he got kidnapped by a cult that tried to turn him into a vessel for their leader.

and i just now thought of how that would hit martin especially hard as someone who grew up in an abusive household, as someone who probably felt the way callum did at some point.
