Artist!Harry Styles x Reader part 3

A/n: Let me just preface this part with the fact that writing this physically hurt me. I wanted to write more but I just feel like this ended exactly where it needed to, and that’s a feeling I just can’t ignore. This one is somehow much sadder than the other two which is a fat ouch and I apologize in advance for any broken hearts.

“Would you like a tea or coffee?” Harry offers from the kitchen as I stand by the front door to take off my shoes. The house smells of the familiar waikiki beach coconut wall plug-in I bought him this past week, and I can tell from the entrance that he’s cleaned up the place.

“Sure,” I call back fully aware of the fact that that was not a yes or no question. As I round the corner to the kitchen I hear him giggle softly; he’s quiet so as to prevent me from hearing his laughter. My favorite mug, themed Elvis’ ‘Viva Las Vegas’, sits untouched on the dish drying rack. Harry may have cleaned the kitchen but my cup is still exactly where I left it ereyesterday.

He’s already begun making my drink and I can see a new box, sporting my favorite brand’s logo, is settled on the counter next to his Keurig.

“Hey, how come your parents didn’t just name you Harold?” he seems taken aback by my question but answers once he sets the full mug in front of me.

“I don’t know, why didn’t your parents name you Sharon?”

“I guess they didn’t like the name very much.” “Well, there’s your answer.” We’re sitting on the barstools of his kitchen island across the corner from one another, almost in the dark due to the gloomy London sky outside being our only light source. Harry’s got his right palm tucked underneath his chin whilst lazily watching me drink from my, but actually his, mug.

“You’re not gonna have anything to drink?” He shakes his head,

“No, maybe later,” and continues to stare at me with a fond expression. I hardly ever know what he’s thinking about, just how he’s feeling about what he’s thinking.

“Y/n?”

“Yes, Harry?”

“What’s your idea of a perfect proposal?” The question makes me choke on my drink, which sends Harry into a full on laughing fit; as a means to make amends, he grabs a napkin to help clean up the spilt liquid.

“Who’s the lucky lady?”

“Oh, shut up- I’m serious!” Now it’s my turn to laugh at his flustered demeanor. This doesn’t seem like small talk. It seems like he actually wants to know.

“I haven’t thought about it much, but…” I excitedly wrap both of my hands around my cup, absorbing it’s warmth, “The perfect proposal… is extravagant. I don’t mean fireworks and a bunch of adoring family members, but a grand gesture of sorts- and that means that whoever is proposing starts traditional. Down on one knee, a big speech about all the things he loves about me, and why he wants to marry me-”

“That doesn’t sound that extravagant.”

“I’m not done yet. The extravagant part is that we’re surrounded by thousands of red roses, and he’s got the most expensive champagne that money can buy, on ice for when I say yes.” When I finish, Harry seems amused with my event planning skills.

“For when you say yes?”

“If this man in question bought three thousand dollars worth of roses and dropped a couple hundred on the champagne, I’d have no choice but to say yes.”

Harry laughs wholesomely, with his head tossed back and his eyes cinched closed.

“What about the ring?”

“I wanna pick out my own ring so it’d just be best if the proposal happened without one.”

Irony is not my friend, as demonstrated in the memory of a conversation Harry and I shared exactly one week before he had agreed to do Camile’s portrait. Maybe I was wrong. Maybe he didn’t want to marry me… did he? Not that it matters now. He has yet to apologize but I get the feeling that’s what’s coming in our ‘talk’ that’s scheduled to happen as soon as I get to his flat.

I don’t even know why I’m going really. I should just turn the other cheek and trudge forward without him in my life.

But my heart won’t let me do that. No matter how much my head wants to.

Heading over now. 

I’m so tense and in my own head that I completely forgot to turn music on the entire car ride to his place.

Parked in its usual spot is Harry’s grey hybrid, which probably means he’s seen me arrive since he likes to watch cars from his window. Congrats, Y/n, it is officially too late to turn around.

Slamming the car door, I take inventory of my keys and phone. Do I need anything else? Whatever. Stop stalling. I’m a capable adult who can handle adult conversations.

Before I can speak a word into the intercom, Harry has already buzzed me in the complex’s gate. The buzzing of the mechanism is much more ominous now that I know I can’t turn back; I wish the elevator would break down or something.

The all too familiar bing of the lift doors seals my fate as I approach his front door. Am I making a mistake? I ask myself as I knock feebly on the wooden door in front of me. It was so quiet I thought he didn’t hear but then I heard the sliding of the lock in the latch, and knew he had been waiting by the door for my arrival.

“Y/n.” Why does he sound surprised?

“Hi.”

“Hi.”

“Look, that was a really shitty thing of you to do-”

“Do you want to talk about this inside?”

“No-”

“Y/n. Please.” I guess I could at least do him the service of leaving his neighbors out of this conversation, so I hesitantly agree. Relief overwhelms him and he offers me his hand to take.

Harry’s hands are always really warm which I’m usually grateful for in the cold winters. But now it seems wrong. Something feels out of place between us, when all we’re doing is holding hands. Which makes me realize this conversation is going to be a lot tougher that I’d hoped.

After closing the door behind us, Harry leads me to his sitting area, his hand still in mine.

He sits me down in my normal couch spot but doesn’t sit down next to me. Confused at first, I follow his movement to see he’s already prepared my favorite drink and it’s sitting on the kitchen counter. He retrieves it silently, and once he’s back, he practically shoves the mug into my hands.

Elvis.

Instead of sitting on the loveseat perpendicular to the couch I’m perched on, Harry takes his place on the carpeted floor, facing the couch, with his back pressed against his antique coffee table. He’s sitting like a contemporary dancer with one leg bent and pressed flat to the floor, with the other leg bent over it with his foot flat on the ground. Must be a new habit, courtesy of the modern dance class he’s taking this semester.

“Can I talk first?” Realizing I don’t want him to curate an apology based on whatever grievances I’m armed with, I choose to let him go first.

“Okay.”

“I want you to know how sorry I am.” I can’t help the humorless scoff that escapes my mouth at his stellar opening. “At first, I couldn’t understand why you were upset, because then, I didn’t see it as a complete violation of your trust-which it was! And I am so,” he crawls forward to sit on his knees in front of me with his palms facing up in his lap, “so sorry that I had ever even considered to turn to an ex of all people for that project.”

Looking up from the lip gloss stain on the rim of the mug, I see Harry’s head is hung in the guiltiest expression of shame I’ve ever seen.

“Thank you for apologising, but I just don’t know if I can bring myself to trust you so quickly after the fact-” before I can finish Harry lifts his head to reveal an onslaught of tear tracks down his creamy complexion. Seeing his face in such agony is the final hit that breaks down the walls of my cold exterior. I reach behind him to set my half empty mug on the table before taking his face in both of my hands to wipe away the tears. He sniffles once before holding both of my hands against his face and pressing a kiss to each palm.

“I know it can’t be easy, Y/n. All I’m asking is that you give me the chance to earn your trust again. I…” overcome with sorrow, Harry then throws himself forward and lays his head in my lap, a few desperate sobs wracking through his pained figure.

“I love you.”

Hamille quick debunk!

These are a list of quick Hamille debunks from me and Harry himself.

1. Harry ending Hamille

Harry blocked the one and only update account of him and Camille. Why would he do that? He ‘loved’ her so much right? He was heartbroken right? NO. Why would you block an account that ships you with someone you ‘like’? Exactly, because Harry did not like her and he still does not.

2. He NEVER confirmed his ‘relationship’ with her. 

Harry and Camille were ‘hanging out’ (stunting) together and surely they would be seen. Which is weird because when the boys fly to Japan alone, they never get spotted. Weird. If Harry ‘loved’ her so much, how about a confirmation of HIMSELF? Instead of the media. 

3. Harry whole body pushed her away for a pair of Chelsea boots.

When attending an interview with Nick Grimshaw Harry was taped to a heart rate monitor. Nick showed Harry a picture of Camille Rowe and his heartbeat dropped low. His heartbeat dropped low for Camille Rowe (pun). Then Nick Grimshaw showed a picture of Ben Affleck being half naked and his heartbeat was happy. Harry started playing the game and his heart was around 64 bpm. Nick showed a picture of his old 2010 x Factor boots and his heartbeat rose to 72 bmp. Then he shows Camille and Harry’s heartbeat is 62 bpm. Nick earlier referred this number as being ‘calm.’ So could any of you please tell me how exactly he liked/loved her? His heart clearly does not like her.

4. Camille supports a rapist.

Harry talks wisely about world issues. He supports BLM, feminism and tons of other movements. Is it not strange, that ‘he’ chose a girlfriend with a passion for rapists. Camille Rowe literally supports a rapist. Sharon was the rapists wife. She was pregnant with Romans child and stabbed to death. Have you got any idea how rude it is to dress up as someone who died with her baby? It is NOT a joke. She apparently even said in a French interview that she would love to meet Roman Polinski. 

5. Camille sexualizing Harry

Camille moaned his name, just to pretend they were having intercourse while holding her breasts. We know Harry hated being sexualised in every witch way. How come he fell in love with someone who has everything he dislikes?

6. V.I.P BOX

Camille attended Harry’s show, whereas looking at her Harry did not spare her one glance and looked at the V.I.P. box the whole time. Why? because a certain blue eyed boy with brown hair was sitting there. He even sent kisses and waved if I am not wrong.

Fic: Till It’s Gone

Summary: After being stranded on Destiny, Rush faces a tough decision about his relationship with Belle, still on Earth, after she gives him an ultimatum regarding their future.

Till It’s Gone

You don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone. It was one of the old sayings, something that Rush had always known but had never paid any attention to until he was forced to take a long hard look at something and realise that the old sayings had indeed had some truth to them.

The first time that he had been made to confront this particular saying was after he had lost Gloria. He’d known what he had with her, obviously. They had been married for over twenty years and he knew that they had been soulmates. It wasn’t that he didn’t know what he had with her, as that once he no longer had her, he came to the crushing realisation that was it. It was over. There was never going to be a ‘later’. All the things that he had promised in his own mind that he would do later, that he had to keep working and he would do it later… There was no later. There never would be. 

What he hadn’t known he had with Gloria was opportunity. Time. 

Now he was staring this hateful phrase in the face again as he looked out at the ribbons of faster than light travelling past the window of the observation deck. This time, it was true in the much more well-known sense of meaning. He had lost Belle, and it was only now that he realised just how much she meant to him. 

He loved her. He had told her that he loved her, and she had told him that she loved him back. That had never been in doubt. What had been in doubt was his ability to fully commit to their relationship when there was always a spectre hanging over him, the spectre of the work that he could never let go of, because letting go of it meant letting go of Gloria. He’d not had enough time with her before, and now that he had wasted that time, he needed to make sure that it was worth it in whatever way he could. 

Belle had always understood his obsessive need to discover the mysteries of the cosmos. She was a widow herself; they both knew what they were getting into when it came to new relationships whilst the tragedy of losing a soulmate was still looming large and would likely never fully fade. 

But Belle had a limit, and Rush would admit that your boyfriend getting stranded on an Ancient spaceship several thousand galaxies away from home would push most people’s limits. As much as he isolated himself from the rest of the crew, it was impossible not to know what was happening behind closed doors with so many of them together in close quarters. At first he had been rather pleased that his relationship with Belle appeared to be surviving the long distance when so many others, apart from perhaps Camille and Sharon, seemed to be falling apart. 

Now though, it was clear that he and Belle were just the latest victims. 

The next time I see you, Nick, I want to see your face. 

It was such a simple sentence, and it had been spoken with such sadness. Belle had been in tears as they had parted, and now, hours after returning to Destiny and leaving the stones behind, Rush was still staring at the faster than light, still ruminating on what he had just lost. 

The trouble was that it was so open-ended. It was not really an end unless he chose it to be. Belle had said that she didn’t want to see him again via the stones. He could read between the lines enough to know what she really meant. She wanted him to commit to getting them all home. She didn’t want this to go on indefinitely. She wanted a proper relationship with him. In person. 

Rush was left in a quandary. It was a choice he had never yet had to make, because nothing this far-reaching and life-changing had ever come between them before. Gloria had always been the elephant in the room, but it had always been manageable before. Belle had been apprehensive when he’d taken the Icarus position, but she had consoled herself with the thought that it would not be forever. Now there was no such promise in place. 

They might never get home. 

They certainly weren’t going to get home if he wasn’t working to get them home. If he chose to keep chasing the knowledge of the Ancients instead. 

Rush smacked his hand against the glass. This wasn’t fair. This was his life’s work, this was what he had poured everything he had into for the last few years, and now he was facing the choice to give it up. 

It should have been an easy decision to make. Life’s work versus girlfriend of a year. Looking at it from a cold, hard, logical point of view, which was Rush’s default point of view on everything, much to some people’s chagrin, it was a no-brainer. 

He couldn’t understand why he was so incredibly angry about it, nor why he was missing Belle more now than he had done throughout the entire rest of the time that he had been separated from her, despite only having seen her a few short hours ago.

Rush had always been able to get by on very little sleep, and since being on Destiny, there was so much for him to be doing at any time that sleep was more of an annoyance than a necessity. TJ had kept threatening to knock him out to make him get some rest, saying that not even he could get by on no sleep whatsoever, but Rush had resisted her so far. He had managed to avoid her, disappearing from the console room whenever she was in the area, but truth be told, he had no desire to sleep for deeper reasons than needing to get more work done. 

He lay back on his bed, staring up at the ceiling. The last few times he’d slept, he’d dreamed of Belle. She always danced through the world in front of him, leading him on into the unknown. He was always compelled to follow her, no matter what was happening around him. She’d pulled him away from the bits of Destiny that he was trying to unlock, his attention always on her instead of on the maths. When he tried to ignore her, the figures swam in front of him until he had to look away, catching Belle’s smile again in the corner of his eye, and he was powerless to do anything but follow her. 

She was always out of reach, no matter how much he might try to speed up and catch up with her, no matter how much he might stretch out towards her. And then, without fail, no matter what else had happened, no matter where he was, he would lose her, leaving him feeling alone and bereft. 

Rush sighed. Someone would probably tell him that it meant that he was missing Belle, and that he should be making the choice to get back to her instead of continuing with his work. That without Belle, his work meant nothing. He was not the kind of person who put much faith in that kind of pseudo-science, but he couldn’t deny that his subconscious brain was trying to tell him something, even if it was in a manner that he didn’t want to address. 

He thought of the chair, of the memories of Gloria that he would rather forget as he tried to crack Destiny’s master code. Things that he wanted to forget and put to the back of his mind so that he could concentrate on the bigger picture. It was not that he wanted to forget Belle, far from it, just as he did not want to forget Gloria, just the very end. If only things didn’t have to end. If everything could just stop in the middle. 

Rush felt his eyelids droop, exhaustion finally getting the better of him despite fighting it for so long. By now he had come to expect the image of Belle hovering at the edge of his vision, always there, but never to touch. No, he had given up that privilege when he had made the decision to keep working towards Destiny’s higher purpose rather than trying to get back to her, and now she was haunting his dreams as his penance. 

He didn’t even try to resist her this time, even as he got closer and closer to solving Destiny’s mysteries and discovering the secrets at the centre of the universe. He let her lead him away, tempting him with the promise of what he could no longer have. It was good to see her at least, even if that was all he could do. It was good to know that she was all right, wherever she was. He knew that his dreams had nothing to do with Belle’s reality, but in these sleeping moments, he liked to kid himself that everything was okay, that Belle was happy. 

He wished he knew if she was happy or not.

Rush sighed. It had been so long since he heard Belle’s voice, even though he saw her face every time he closed his eyes. 

The phone seemed to take forever to connect, and he looked at the unfamiliar face reflected in the glass of the phone booth as he listened to it ring. 

“Hello?”

“Belle, it’s me. It’s Nick.”

“Hi Nick.” Her voice was soft, almost wonderous in its disbelief. “It’s been so long. How are you?”

“We’re ok.” He wasn’t sure how to tell her what he was going to tell her. It was such a leap of faith he had to take. Rush had taken many leaps of faith during his time on Destiny. He had trusted in the ship more times than he could count; he trusted in Destiny and his own intuition more than he trusted the rest of the crew at the best of times. 

Now he had to trust in Belle. He had made the decision, but what if, in the end, it was all in vain? What if she had moved on after all? What if she was going to move on in the next three years that they would all be incommunicado?

“Belle, I know you don’t want to see me via the stones, but I had to talk to you.”

“That’s ok, I understand. What’s going on?”

Rush explained the situation, with the drones and the stasis pods and the three long years that would pass in the blink of an eye for him and would drag on for everyone else on the ground. 

“We’re trying to get home,” he said eventually. “I want to see you again. In person. Properly.”

There was silence on the other end of the phone for a long time, and Rush could feel his heart beating hard in his mouth. Had he made the wrong decision?  Should he have gone with his head over his heart and decided to continue with Destiny’s mission, even if it meant that Belle would haunt him for the rest of his days?

“I’ll be right here waiting,” Belle said at last. “Stay safe, Nick. Come back to me.”

The next time Rush slept it was blissfully dreamless.

I feel like ur the only blog I can ask about this lol — I’m a huge fan of Camille and love her but people always bring up her costume as Sharon Tate, her fascination with Charles manson and other problematic things from the past. What is your response to people who bring those issues up? People call her racist a lot (by people I mean harry stans that hate all of his girlfriends) **feel free to not answer if you do not choose! ♡︎ I, too, love Camille!!
