I can’t stop thinking about a fanfic idea where Mickey does 8 years in prison after season 5 as planned, and when he gets out he moves to whatever city Svetlana and Yev live in, determined to move on with his life.

And then 8 years later when Yev is like 17, they’re all back in Chicago for a few days because Yevs got a big soccer game or something for school. Anyway they lose the game. So afterwards, him & his friends sneak out of the hotel and end up getting into a fight with the other team and one of them gets injured so an ambulance is called.

And Yevgeny isn’t hurt or anything, just a black eye and bruised knuckles. So he can’t figure out why the red headed paramedic keeps looking at him like the guy has seen a ghost.

But then, his mom and dad arrive, ready to cuss him out for being so stupid. And Yev notices his dad and the paramedic look at each other with that same stricken expression that the red head was wearing earlier, and he starts to piece it together.

And so 16 years after Ian and Mickey’s break-up, Yevgeny meets his dad’s first love and gets to witness their long road back to each other.

#Road To Ruin #aroaessidhe 2024 reads #I enjoyed this overall!#a fun fast paced adventure set in a mad max-esque world with dinosaurs and magic.#quite liked the polyamorous love triangle going on - I even liked the guy which is a win.#It does start with them all already having a crush on each other so we kinda miss seeing how that developed in the first place #but I think I prefer this considering the book is only set over a number of days.#It is unfortunate that the magic is called mana.#But that is so deeply entrenched in fantasy that I guess I can’t critique any individual book for it that hard.#I will say - I read assuming it’s YA and only now after finishing it it seems to apparently be adult.#the worldbuilding and character relationships felt more YA to me - and I don’t mean that as an insult #I just probably would have expected more complexity in certain areas if I knew this was adult. I dunno.#all the ending is like. everything is wrapped up about the narrative (as much as i care about now anyway) but the relationship is Not #I did not realise it would be a series. but also I don't feel like I want any more of the plot other than this one thing?#bisexual books #polyamorous books

Laura left for beacon hills. it’s been six years since he was back but he hasn’t heard from her #and hes going stir crazy waiting. he packs up and travels back. it’s almost too much immediately. he still can’t get a hold of Laura #he can’t resist going home. it’s like a natural pull that guides him back. all at once he’s 16 again. staring at the wreckage of his life #deputy stilinski is sherrif now. it’s reassuring in the slightest that the police force seems to have moved on from how corrupt it was #he catches her scent and it’s putrid. bile catches in his throat. he seeks it out. still in denial to what he knows it means.#when he finds Laura it’s like the world ends all over again. he can’t stand to see her like this. he gives her a proper burial.#the best he can do at least #he visits Peter. he’s not the man Derek remembers- so full of fire and cunning. their relationship may have been strained at times.#often Derek felt more like Eve being swayed by the snake than a normal friendship #but this isn’t the sharp tongued uncle who guided him. this is a broken shell. all that remained of his family. he was so lost.#22 but he barely knew how to function without his family- his pack paving the way #Laura handled everything. she got the apartment. she made sure they had food. Kate. why would she go through the trouble six years later. why wait so long.#Derek couldn’t stomach the thought of facing her. he focused on the woods. the scents were all over the place.#clearly multiple people had been through here recently. two scents were much stronger. Derek follows them #but when he hears the crunch of leaves he realizes why the scents are so strong. they’re still here #he ducks behind some trees. listening in on their conversation. but an echo of their scent catches his attention #he spots an inhaler on the ground. he puts two and two together and swipes it from the leaves.#he comes out once they’re closer. tossing over the inhaler- he figures they’ll leave. dumb kids messing around in the woods #he reminds them this is private property. though that may not be true anymore. he recognizes the scent of a new beta. interesting.

#also the show was great #I had to slap sam many times bc she was choking from laughter #ben schwartz #bro how did i forget my personal tag for ben #ben schwartz my beloved #me #also forgot me tag #editing tags after the fact to recount the entire experience #so we waited outside for about 10 minutes and I had no expectation of how long it usually takes for him to come out and take pictures #he comes out without a mask which is surprising to me and says ‘you guys wanna take some pictures?’#we all just kinda form a non sensical blob (there’s maybe like 10 ppl total) around him #Brandon Katie and Eugene hang back towards the stage door unsure if anyone wants to chat with them #I’m gushing over how tall and handsome Ben is to my sister who is ready to record our interaction once he gets to me #as I listen to him chatting with the other fans I can’t help but smile and say to my sibling ‘he’s so sweet’ every minute #he meets someone who has a cool sketchbook of the skits from the show that he wants to take a picture of #but they need to write their handle so he says he’ll talk with some others and get back to them #so he does and then later I see the girl ready to talk to him again off to the side #so I tell her ‘you can go ahead and finish talking to him��’ and she’s like ‘are you sure?’ and I’m like duh!#finally it’s my turn and he looks at me and says ‘hi I’m Ben’#yes Benjamin Joseph Schwartz I know #he sees me holding my phone and immediately sides steps to get into selfie mode as I ask him if he’ll sign my Jean Ralphio figure #he steps back to Be in front of me ‘yes of course!’#what insane media training he has #he says ‘I’ve seen this! this is the first one I’ve ever signed’#upon seeing the figure he says ‘it’s beautiful’ lol #he’s concerned that the sharpie I brought will not show up and I mention that it was probably a bad one to bring because it’s pastel #he signs and holds it up (as you can see in the first photo) to make sure it’s visible #he hands it back to me and I thank him and he says ‘do you want to take a picture?’#and I say ‘I would love to!’ and then I hold the Jean Ralphio figure and he looks to my sibling assuming she’s taking the picture #she’s like ‘no I’m just here for moral support!’
