January's Set of Fan Art/Doodles

OH GOD I ALMOST FORGOT TO POST THIS!! Good thing I just remembered before it was too late. I didn't get to draw and post this the day of but at least I got to post it before January ends.

I also tried to match the art style just like with other characters from other shows and stuff.

The set of Kindergarten fan doodles took forever to finish. It also felt forever getting back into the game. Idk why I put it off for so long I loved the game so much back in 9th grade.

Characters from my January interests (besides Willow I just wanted to draw him). 4 characters I drew because of reactions, 3 because I got into them myself, and Alastor for both and because I'm also watching Hazbin Hotel with my parents and sister. Also I miss Geologist Randy, ngl. 🥲 And I didn't even watch 101DS yet I'm watching the 90s show first and there's like 65 episodes 💀 AND THE SECOND MOVIE AFTER 😭 idek if they matter for 101DS

I just felt like drawing them. Probably my two most favorite villains of WC. They were also the two most heart broken. Huh.

People Are Strange (ROTTMNT VAMPIRE AU)

OMG, IM GONNA THROW UP SO MICH INFO ON YOU GUYS IM SO SORRY BUT VAMPIRES ARE ON THE BRAIN AND THEY MAKE ME DO THINGS

A TAD bit inspired off of Lost Boys, so it's got that 80s cliche/grunge to it - also @m0nster-fluffer TOTALLY didn't encourage or inspire me to finally write all this stuff out... Totally not 👀

This is inspired by a Roleplay idea I came up with... But was never able to act out so I'm glad I was able to write some if the stuff down!

BASICALLY... It's just like the brothers and MAYBE April (but I think she'll just be a normal human they let tag along, and maybe she does some of their... Hunting for them) are vampires, usually come out late at parties or do their own thing, riding around on motorcycles, being nuisance to many, and threats to others.

I feel if it were a scenario, it'd probably go one (or your whole group, depends on if you want your character to already know the guys or not) of the Roleplayers moves into this small secluded town where all this happens, and somehow gets wrapped up in meeting the four weirdos + April, and then starts discovering the creepy and spooky blah blah ect.

The Hamato Brothers are something no one wants to be around with, cause eventually, you go missing. You get lost. Never to be found, it's kind of difficult when their very... Persuasive.

Basic twist/plot for this whole thing: Everyone in this town but you know the guys are vampires. You and your family have no clue until you find out why the people of this town don't want you to leave, try to keep you trapped in this so called, happy, campy, little peace of heaven off somewhere deep in the woods. You're new meat- new faces. New prey.

The guys had started getting more relentless and more brash toward the townsfolk until you showed up... They can't just give you up that easy.

(And my rant about what I think the guys would be like HEE)

Raphael Raph is one of the more docile of his brothers, he isn't as peer pressuring or over energetic as his other three, usually he's like that big brother 'come on, leave em alone' energy if he can see someone getting stressed over his brothers trying to get them to jump like- twenty feet from the beach pillars. But, as much as he seems like a chill dude, his vampirism is... Different. When he's mad, he isn't afraid to let you know. He can get aggressive and almost animalistic, a LOT of 'accidents' involving people can be from Raphs... Temper-tantrums.

Any vampire powers? Yes! The guy is a total brute, and it's not just for show. He could lift two trucks with both hands with absolute ease if he wanted to.

Leonardo Oh yikes, one of the brothers that a LOT of people tend to be persuaded by. Leo has the tendency to make some of the riskier decisions and ideas of the group, just to see how freaked out they can get new comers, what makes em run away screaming. It makes it more enjoyable for him. He loves- and I mean LOVES a chase once in a while, even if it spreads out into an entire week, he doesn't stop, as long as your in his town, his territory, you can't escape him or his brothers.

Leo's vampirism is one of the MANY faults and reasons the brothers have almost been caught. The guy pushes and tests limits like the little ass he is and waits to see what happens. Raphs killed people, sure, but Leo's killed people, critters, and he tends to leave them on people's doorsteps just to freak them out- especially if they've pissed him off. Or he's... Taken a liking to you.

His actions have gotten him locked up in the Church by the people a few times. And even though he continues to do it, he HATES getting chained up cause he's stuck their for a damn week, and all his brothers do is ridicule, taunt, or scold him. Any vampire powers? Yes! Leo's got some kind of... Trance inducing powers - it isn't like it is in shows or movies. It's a lot more... Subtle than that. It's he can make his point or voice sound more alluding, more conniving, and it almost feels like you can't refuse the guy.

Donatello. The lesser known of the vampire brothers, Donnie is extremely quiet and keeps to himself. And not in a shy way, this guy's seemingly resting bitch-face/death glare looks like he's looking directly through you and into your deepest darkest fears. He probably is.

But once you get to know him - as rare as it is unless he decides you're worth his time, he's still pretty blunt and cold, and he's almost cruel in some way. You can see some dark joy behind his eyes watching you get scared or squirm under his cold arm over your shoulder.

He doesn't seem like it, but he's got that persuasion and slight bloodlust that his twin Leo has. He just more collected about it. He tends to be the one who doesn't cause much of the missing accidents, (he's much more intelligent to clean and hide a crime scene, please, the man isn't a reckless idiot like his brothers.) But the one or two he's done are because someone pissed him off. The someone is his twin. Those two get in nasty- and I don't put it lightly when I say NASTY fights. Ranging from verbal to physical, it's rare that they actually get along so much so that they barely even talk to each other cause it ends in yelling or biting and scratching.

Any vampire powers? Yes! Same as his twin, maybe he dpes it more with that smolder or look he has rather than his voice, but it still gets the job done.

Michelangelo

And finally, the youngest of the Hamatos, Mikey. Of course, don't let that fool you. This vampire tends to be the most welcoming of newcomers out if all his brothers, while he's eerily sweet and calm, it does the trick to put people's minds at ease and get them to join their little rag-tag group.

He's usually the one you'd go to if you feel on edge about everything, him and Raph being more docile to newcomers before they decide to pounce.

While he gives on the laid-back persona... Don't get him mad or threaten his brothers. It'd like a whole new creature from the deepest darkest part of your soul is unleashed if you get on this vampires nerves.

And he's fast. They all are. Don't get me wrong, but the stealth this guy has sneaking and sprinting through woods. You're not gonna escape.

Any vampire powers? Yes! Super speed and levitation! The levitation is usually on his part - meaning he's the one floating around a few feet of ground and picking things up of the floor a few feet away from him. But he can pick people up if he decides he's too tired or annoyed to chase.

Okay, I did a little investigating of how blocked and the new semi-blocked tags seem to work now(Jan 2024), particularly in relation to #lady whump. Bear with me, it's a long post (but it's half pictures!)

(I actually did a whole write-up of how they used to work but I never got around to posting it and now... things are different!)

DESKTOP FIRST: I tested the following with "Hide additional potentially mature content" both ON and OFF - it's the same on desktop wither way, because that setting has to do with the mobile app. All my community labels are set to "show."

First, there's the classically blocked tag, like #restraints:

Clicking on this tag used to take you to tumblr.com/TAGGED/restraints, and show the above with no content, but now it takes you to tumblr.com/SEARCH/restraints, and shows the above with no content. Manually typing in 'tagged' redirects you to 'search.'

Additionally, posts tagged with a tag like this do not show up in the feed of any other tags. If you tag your post with a fully blocked tag, you're throwing it into the void - you may as well have not tagged it with anything at all, only your followers and people directly reading your blog will see it.

But now there seems to be another level: clicking on a tag such as #nsfw takes you to tumblr.com/SEARCH/nsfw, but it shows content now! Additionally, posts tagged with #nsfw DO show up in the feed of other tags, as long as they have the Mature Community Label.

But WAIT! There's a third level! clicking on #lady whump takes you to a search instead of a tag, like #nsfw, but there's no warning, and posts without community labels appear. These posts are still able to appear in other tag feeds.

What's the big deal? You can't follow these tags. Take a look at what happens when you click on #whump, a 'safe' tag:

You are taken to tumblr.com/TAGGED/whump, and you also get this sidebar, which appeared on none of the previous pages:

You can follow #whump, and see posts from it on your dashboard if you wish. You can also explore related tags. You are unable to do this with tags that redirect to 'search.'

NOW (iOS) MOBILE:

If you have "Hide additional potentially mature content" OFF, searching #lady whump shows this:

And if you've got it turned ON, it shows this:

And posts tagged with #lady whump won't show up in the feeds of other tags for someone with this setting on, though it still appears on your dashboard if you follow the person, and on their blog if you go directly to it.

To sum up: on desktop, the limitation of #lady whump isn't as bad as it could be - but the "Hide additional potentially mature content" is ON by default, and many people aren't even aware of it, causing some real kneecapping on mobile.

I'm not about to make any sweeping declarations about how to handle this. The way #nsfw works now, allowing posts with the proper community label, is honestly kind of nice (even though it's only on desktop) - but limiting #lady whump as "mature content" is really unfortunate.

I guess: friendly reminder, especially to those newer among us, to check your settings and make sure that you're able to see all the stuff you want to be able to see. If you post content, check the tags you use to make sure you're not accidentally condemning your post to the void.

This is all investigation with no conclusion. I'd love to hear what other people think.

Some Fun Facts About the Cast

Ryder

Ryder's tail wags independently of his will. He can choose to make it wag, but if he's happy, excited, or otherwise feeling positively, he can't NOT wag.

His favorite meal is Elyr Style Steak (Relanian equivalent of New York Strip) with applesauce drizzled over it and buttered beans on the side (green beans, specifically).

He once let David pick his Halloween costume, having promised he would wear it, no matter what it was, as part of a lost bet. He'd expected David to make him wear something embarrassing, only to find a tuxedo on his bed, and a cheap plastic "ring" to go with it.

He did NOT connect the dots when he, wearing the Groom costume mentioned above, arrived to the party he and David were attending and found David in a white wedding dress with matching ring, and to this day fully believes David was dressed as Selana, a popular pop singer that David enjoys who is known for wearing white, flowy outfits.

David

David can bark, chirp, trill, meow, and purr, and while he can do all of these at will, he has been known to do them on instinct as his immediate reaction to strong stimuli.

He can purr with his mouth full and it does vibrate his tongue heavily when he does. Do with that what you will.

He once had the opportunity to cook a meal for a visiting Kanorian Ambassador passing through Tylvin. He was the only one working the café at the time. The Ambassador remarked that his skill, even with the limited tools of the café, was "On par with the banquets of the royals". David has never forgotten that and his cooking is one of the few things he has a genuine pride in.

He's a LOT faster and agile than you'd think. David ran Track and Field in high school and never let those skills deteriorate. His top speed recorded was 26mph, with average Sentient speed being ~18mph. His agility is solid as well, with David having an innately perfect sense of balance.

Davina

Her culinary skills are on par with a part-time fry cook in high school, and her food tastes about as good. This is why she orders takeout and delivery so often.

She views physical intimacy as a means to an end (that end being relief from her hyperactive drive and her partner's tensions and needs), and not as anything special. She's been known to offer or even ask for it with just about anyone for this very reason.

She can tell at a glance if someone's relationships are mutual, and has a sixth sense for "pure" relationships (platonic or romantic connections that are mutual and equally strong both ways)

Her tail is fully prehensile, and can be twisted and bent however she likes due to a mutation she and her brother share. This IS part of the mutation they share that causes their tails to be slightly longer than twice their heights.

Trace

He can draw WAY better than he lets on. Most of his art is simple and rough, but he is fully capable of drawing in a fairly realistic style.

He's hyper-sensitive to wind direction and air pressure, and can tell differences as small as a single person entering or leaving a room he's in by the addition or loss of their breathing.

He uses his courier job as both practice for his weekly races AND as a way of building up favors with his contacts in Tylvin's illegal free-running league. He offers to deliver packages and letters, no questions asked, in exchange for nothing but "A favor owed", which has made him a very popular courier for the underground.

To add to the last fact, Trace has never asked a big favor. His payment has always come in the form of free meals, replacement clothes when his wear out, or simply free reign to train on buildings owned by contacts he's delivered for. This contributes to his popularity as a courier; he charges no money, and all he asks in exchange is small comforts and freedom to train.

Get to Know Me - Sims Edition

If it seems like a lot of text, don't force yourself to read it, you can simply ignore it. Sometimes I write too much, I know.

1.- What’s your favorite sims death? Sims eaten by cowplants, although there is an anecdote from when I was little that is very funny because I had a little "trauma" with that death. When I first played The Sims Take the Street on PS2 (the first sims game I played for the first time in my life) together with Lea, we made sims from Fushigi Yugi and we put them to live in a house… They all ended up being eaten by mutant plant (a plant similar to cowplant in that time), being the last one Amiboshi just after his twin brother Suboshi… It was one of our first games so adding a mutant plant was like, "What is this? Let's put it in, it sounds fun" and it ended up being a bit of a shock since at that time we had no internet, no guides or anything and everything was new, from that time for me at the end, after that experience it's ended up being fun, so being eaten by a (cow)plant it's one of my favorites sims death.

2.- Alpha CC or Maxis Match? Maxis Mix, I absolutly like more Maxis Match for hair, but with clothes I usually use both Maxis Match and/or Alpha, same with makeup or skin details, so yes, I'm consider myself Maxis Mix more towards Maxis Match.

3.- Do you cheat when your sims gain weight? Why? When it comes to my/our OCs (Lea's and mine) we leave them as they wish to be, because they've gained or lost it by themselves because they have so wished, in fact one of our OCs, Carla, when gained more weight even became much more beautiful than when she had less weight, at least from our point of view.

4.- Do you use move objects? Yes, quite a lot when I have to place a lot of clutter together or I have to place in a special way the constructions to do what I want and look for.

5.- Favorite mod? I would say MCCC, but there are many times it causes me a headache.

6.- First expansion/game/stuff pack you got? Get to Work on realease. (Lea bought it, not me, but he likes to share, I mean it's stupid to buy the same thing twice when in gameplay we play together)

7.- Do you pronounce “live mode” like aLIVE or LIVing? I pronounce "Modo Vivir", but if it's in English then like aLIVE.

8.- Who’s your favorite sim that you’ve made? I have quite a few… They're all my cute babies, Ryuuya, Luka, Aris, Jack, Kyle, Kyla, Noah, Icaro, Carla. Lux, Kaoru, Ainosuke, Rin, Haruka, and many more but the list would go on and on... Sorry I can't choose... (And yeah we have a lot of original sims that we don't show here yet 😆)

9.- Have you made a simself? I did it once, when toddlers came out, I made myself into a toddler for a contest, but I have never done it again, and that simself no longer exists.

10.- What sim traits did you give yourself? With pack Growing Together that came out I can officially add more than three, right? Creative, Socially awkward, Ambitious, Music lover, Geek and Perfectionist. (The limit is 3 more traits, so I can't put Cat fan, Dog fan and Animal enthusiast [although these three should be considered more likes and dislikes, I don't understand how it can still be in traits], so I have them present but didn't add them, because I consider more as likes and dislikes).

11.- What is your favorite EA hair color? Red. I like black, but it changes and varies so much between different hairs and many of them look gray or bluish that they're no longer my favorite.

12.- Favorite EA hair? The two hairs that were added when Incheon Arrivals Kit came out and the hair from Snowy Escape that has two little clips on it.

13.- Favorite life stage? I don't have any favorite life stage, because all life stages are special in one way or another and I try to create sims of all kinds of ages, although maybe the ones I have the most are teenagers/young adults because I usually create a lot of sims based on video games/anime/shows if that makes sense, so people may consider those to be my favorite kind of stages.

14.- Are you a builder or are you in it for the gameplay? Let's see, I would consider myself mixed, or versatile. During the day from time to time I would consider myself a builder, especially when I make constructions with references that help me to locate myself (although there are times that I also make them without a base, but it takes me a long time to finish them and I consider myself a noob, Kitta's house, Dope Sketch I look at all of you just now). On the other hand, during the night before going to sleep and after dinner I'm more of a gameplay person and I have a lot of fun playing together with Lea.

15.- Are you a CC creator? Yes, I love to create CAS CC (hair, clothes, shoes, accessories, etc…), construction CC (furniture, clutter, whatever I need depending on the moment), small modifications in the sims, I'm usually very versatile, I do recolors and frankmeshing too although most of the things I love to do are from scratch (with references that aren't mine or concept arts that I draw previously which are usually mine) to learn even more, so I usually take a lot of time but I have a lot of fun. Although around here what I usually share with everyone, are hairs made from scratch, some other skin details, poses and conversions from other games.

16.- Do you have any simblr friends/a sim squad? Not that I know of. The person I interact with the most around here is Lea but that's because we are family/best friends and spend a lot of time together, so for me it's like day to day. I would love to be able to have a constant energy and mood so I can interact more to make and keep friends around here. I write from time to time with people and would like to consider them friends but since we don't interact much or very constantly, I don't know if they consider me friends or if they would just consider me mutuals. I know of some people that we consider each other friends but we don't talk much either lately because I'm in my stage of writing little with people. But I don't refuse anyone or anyone who wants to interact with me and in the future something might come out of those interactions (friendship or... what's a squad? srsly I don't know it), I'm quite social/asocial and insecure, sometimes I write a lot and sometimes I write very little with people, so I don't know what they currently think of me.

17.- What’s your favorite game? Have a lot, Kingdom Hearts (yes, I went through the time when you needed different consoles to play the whole saga), Final Fantasy series, The Sims series, Life is Strange series, Resident Evil series, Tomb Raider series, Tales of Zestiria, Arc the Lad series, Minecraft, Spyro series, Crash Bandicoot series, Genshin Impact and I'm sure there are many more games that I haven't tried yet that I could add to the list in the future.

18.- Do you have any Sims merch? Nothing.

19.- Do you have a YouTube for sims? I don't have one, but I would love to, although I don't think anyone would be interested. I mean if you share something it's for someone else to see it and if no one would be interested then it would be like exposing yourself to the world but without being seen. I don't know if I make myself clear. I know that stories of your own sims/anything you do in the community have more room for other people when you do it as video, because when you talk they feel more empathetic with your stories/what you explain but my English is not very good and talking in general/talking to my sims is not my forte (that's something Lea is better at)

20.- How has your “sim style” changed throughout your years of playing? Pictures speak louder than words. I don't have sims screenshots I took in The Sims 2 and The Sims 3 because I can't access the external USB drive were on, so I'll limit myself to The Sims 4 screenshots.

A written summary would be that I currently use more sliders and presets, use 3D eyelashes and natural nails for all my sims and use eye makeup to give more volume to the "eyelashes" and give them more "life". And try to make more different types of noses, faces, eye shapes, etc…. Besides adding natural lips as "make up" (when they don't wear makeup) to make them more "realistic" within my sims realism.

21.- What’s your Origin ID? I don't have anything shared, so I don't know if it's really important to say.

22.- Who’s your favorite CC creator? I have a few and they're the ones I use the most in my gameplays shared with Lea in our sims. They're all amazing so allé voy, @/pralinesims, @/simandy, @/happy-misanthropist (although is currently retired), @/obscurus-sims, @/raccoonium, @/falsogod, @/iowaisms, @/saruin, @/xxxtaiyaki, @/kijiko-sims, @/acha-sims, @/simmireen, @/lea-heartscxiv (yeah is with whom I share my sims game and he makes recolors mainly for me and him) and myself (self-esteem should never be lacking).

23.- How long have you had a simblr? Since last year, end of April 2022.

24.- How do you edit your pictures? So far the only things I use are Photoshop and Clip Studio, but I don't retouch pictures so much, I just "improved" problems with scratches that appear in some parts of sims, eyelashes that are displayed wrong, etc… And then I put one or two tonal change filters in Photoshop, but out of CC I use on sims, it's pretty vanilla the final pictures. If I were to do something else at some point, I would probably put unretouched edit under the cut line to see the differences.

25.- What expansion/game/stuff pack is your favorite so far? If I had to say one for how the world is shown, CAS, objects and gameplay I would say Snowy Escape.

26.- What expansion/game/stuff pack do you want next? Seriously writing, refreshes. I would like to see refreshes and improvements of base game, an impossible dream, I know. Especially refreshes of Realm of Magic and Get To Work. Since Lea and I were forced to switch to EAAppsh*t we haven't bought anything from them anymore.

Teenage prodigy Andromeda Rhodes needs a few things to be happy in life; her professional-type lab in her bedroom, her genius-level IQ, and her best friend, April. But one night, when things go awry during a simple walk through New York, Andi comes face-to-face with one turtle with a purple mask and a bo staff that not only becomes part of that list but also triggers something she's never felt before...love.

This story is directly inspired by the events of the 2012 Nickelodeon series. I do not own any of the characters, I only own Andi Rhodes. A good amount of the dialogue will be derived from the show, though Andi's dialogue is entirely my own.

This is coming from watching recent videos by DBThanatos and he once brings up how Arachnotrons attaching to ceiling and infighting are scripted.

With infighting i already mentioned why it can't be "legit" in the modern games: The new enemy AI, arena formula, levels not having the same kind of "openness" in old Doom, resources etc.

With the Arachnotrons and ceilings, i think it's because Eternal and 2016 are modern games, meaning they are "context heavy".

Levels are more detailed because they have a "story" and more stuff going on.

And enemies have more detailed models and animations, along with a different gameplay system.

I like to think if classic Doom had a ceiling enemy at the time, its attachment to ceilings could've been RNG based and maybe the ceiling enemy could even use this to traverse the level.

Though it could also depend on proximity to the ceiling, whether or not ceiling sectors had to be textured, if it'd be a new demon to not affect the Arachnotron's role etc.

I know there's the Stalker in Strife, though those start off in the ceilings and fall to the floor if close to you: Can't recall any retro FPS that had an enemy switching from floor to ceiling and vice verse.

Another thing is melee in the modern games, which is mostly animation based.

In classic Doom, it's just a basic action that causes an enemy to lose health if you're close to them.

Even the classic chainsaw is just a repeated fist but the one unique thing about it is how it doesn't have knockback unlike most other weapons.

D3, despite being a pure 3D game with models, had a chainsaw that was more in line with the classic but it's also a slower horror based game.

Maybe this is why people weren't into Eternal's "self-aware videogamey" direction: You had these glowly 1-up pickups going "this is a videogame" but the animations and the rest is still meant to be "immersive" or part of a setting with a story.

Not the same as classic Doom being more "naturally videogamey" because it "simply is".

It's one of the reasons why i thought a modern Doom game with a cel-shaded art style could've been cool: If a stylized but still limited art style could've lead to some things that aren't as easy in a "proper" 3D art direction.

It also me think of modern Doom having a "retro" spin-off in the same way as Postal Brain Damaged or WH40K Boltgun. A 3D "boomer shooter" with a low poly model aesthetic, almost taking notes from Prodeus or Wrath Aeon of Ruin.

Sure it'd come off as taking way too much from pre-existing fan mods (Specially something like Quake's Slayers Testaments), but it'd also be an official "marriage" of modern and classic gameplay elements.

Part of why i think "modern Doom in old Doom" mods are interesting: They get to explore modern features in a "classic context" like specific enemy types or weapons in a different formula.

Not even just "what if old id thought of the Cybermancubus" but also if there's potential to be realized in a different system.

In general, it's a good reason to hope there's always an new Doom in the future, not just to see new ideas but also pre-existing ideas done differently (i even wrote examples in this blog's "idea" tag).

I can't say I have any deep details on Alba as he was built to be a side character, but I can share a few facts and maybe a brief drabble.

But first

Alba does have the ability to shrink and grow inorganic objects so they're easier for them to handle (this has limitations on how far they can go) but in some cases they just leave them as they are since they got used to managing it.

Despite their tiny and fresh face, they're well over a century old.

Lawyers in the Hidden City don't function quite the same as they do on the surface. That is to say, while lawyers for humans have designated tasks (copyright, prosecutor, defense, etc), Hidden City lawyers do literally everything, the difference however is that they only work with a small number of clients at a time.

Alba has been doing this for a long time and is fairly well known as being one of the best (which is why it was a shock at the time that they took on a mutant client (more on that below))

If you've read VHHB and saw how they talked to Varii, yes they have beef, but mostly because Alba has beef with almost any cop in the long run.

It may be obvious but their design is based on a Honduran White Bat!

"Look, I know it's a long shot." The giant wasp pulled out a handful of property listings. "Every other lawyer has slammed the door in my face and I know you have a reputation to uphold but I'm not about to just give up."

"Slow down." Alba huffed, not even glancing at the pages just yet. "Just what are you asking for that they all find so troublesome? Surely a deed can't be that hard to get hold of."

"It's not the deed it's..." Her antenna drooped. "Because I'm a mutant."

Ah. That did complicate matters, by a huge magnitude in fact. The laws didn't account for mutants and while Alba thought it shouldn't matter, some folks would use those loopholes to their advantage.

"But," she continued when they didn't respond. "I'm aware of the risks. And I'm willing to pay extra for the trouble." She pulled a wooden box out of her bag and opened it.

Alba squeaked, almost falling over when they saw the amount of coins inside of it. "Wh-what? Miss where did you get all of that?"

"I earned it, before you ask if I stole it."

"That wasn't what I--"

"You don't have to keep me as a client for long. I just need the property and the business license and I can--"

"Miss!" Alba screeched, putting their tiny wings up. Finally she went silent. The bat padded to the end of their desk, which did nothing to fix their difference in height, but they'd be damned if they were going to fly right now. "There's no need for all the begging. You're here because you need a lawyer, correct?"

One of her antenna went sideways. "Well, yes, but I'm sure someone of your reputation likely has a whole wait list and--"

"Psh, wait lists, no no no I don't bother with things like that." Alba scurried across their desk again to find the right forms. "Either I will accept a new client or I won't. If someone doesn't ask me on time then they're out of luck." They tugged the sheet of paper free and carried it over. "Here, new clients fill this one out to start. Then we'll worry about the paperwork for the deeds and such."

"What?" Her antenna both shot up. "You... you're accepting? That easily?"

"You know how I got my reputation?" They grinned at her and pointed with one of their tiny paws. "Because I don't shy away from a challenge. And consider you're in here asking one of the most famous lawyers in the city to represent you after countless rejections, I'm guessing you don't either."

"Well, not in most cases." Her fingers tapped at the top of the wooden box. "But I don't want to cause you any trouble."

"Are you kidding?" Alba adjusted their glasses. "If my clients didn't cause trouble from time to time I simply wouldn't have a job. Now let's get these forms done. Speaking of, I never got your name."

"Ah, my apologies." She put the box away and grabbed a pen off the desk. "My name is Holly Blue."

Currently I'm clother to Maxis Match, but I'm OK with using Alpha CC.

Do you cheat your sims weight?

Usually I don't care about it. Sometimes I remake townies generated by game and change their weight to create a new groove for them.

Do you move objects?

I do it when I arrange photo sessions for my sims but very rarely in live gameplay (usually if someone is stuck somewhere in public lot and I don't want to reset sim and send them home).

First Expansion/Game Pack/Stuff Pack?

I don't remember. :D When I launched the game for the first time it was certainly vanilla game. But I'm not sure what addon came to my hands first.

Melee Castle. Don't be shocked by her name - I created her for my Hunger Games Challenge I played in Sims 3. According to story she was peacemaker who originated from District 2.

How has your “Sims style” changed throughout your years of playing?

Well, the first step on this way was to get better PC where I could finally stop playing messy bunches of pixels and start to develop my style. Also I can't say that my style is a constant - when inspiration comes, I see no limitations.

When I finish my medieval save, I'll write separate list for medieval cc creators. And for my regular gameplay...

I like the way I worldbuild!! I've only talked to @/s0yuzsauce about my stories in their entirety, but I take so much pride in them! Honestly asking anything about my OCs and their customs or towns and I'm sure to be able to blabber about them!

I like my place on the internet rn! It sounds a little odd but I used to be very worried about popularity on the internet a few years back. This was mostly due to being surrounded by people who made it too much of a big deal, but right now I'm very happy being able to take it slow and interact with people at my own pace. I feel very blessed to have good friends here (incl. you!) and be able to yap on and on about my interests without feeling like I have to compete! I'm at peace with where I am and I'm glad I didn't let all of that stuff get to my head entirely.

I like my willingness to try new things all the time! I always love new opportunities to do something new. I don't get too bored very easily because I can just fill my head with thinking about stories or worldbuilding, but doing new things, tasting new food, cooking new recipes, going to places, learning new languages and skills...these are all exciting to me!

I like my hair! Right now it's a bit short since I shaved for fun sometime back but I KNOW I look good with any length of hair. Sometimes I bleach it and dye it fun colours and it boosts my confidence more! Lately I've been keeping it natural just to see how my growth is like when uninterrupted. I also love my body hair! My thick brows too. My country's beauty standards prefer people to not be so hairy, but I don't care! I walk out there like a full on werewolf and I FEEL great! I hope I can grow out a beard soon though to complete the look ahahaha

Lastly, I like having a very diverse music taste! I cannot limit myself to few genres - i can't think about genres even at all! I'll happily listen to anything and I don't understand people who look down on certain music just cause it's uncool or mainstream or whatever. My playlist will consist of vocaloid, billboard hits, pirate metal, baltic folk, rap, broadway, eurobeats, horror game osts, oldies, hyperpop... literally everything! I also love compiling playlists! I will gladly make playlists for any vibe I want and even about my OCs and stories!

This is an interesting comment because I think it is why I initially missed the potential Leia/Obi-Wan interactions back in Like Fire. In my head, Leia was Grieving, so of course nothing she does is going to be like flirting. Right?

As the story goes on, and as I think about Leia's circumstances in the OT, I waver more on what I think is an "appropriate" grieving period. Certainly it's all relative. But I think one of the important lessons Leia was supposed to learn when Han got packed off at the end of ESB, that I felt played out a little in their little last minute "I love you, I know" confession, was that she couldn't spend her whole life putting things off and waiting for the "right" moment. She needed to take more personal risks and open herself up more.

And that's actually a major underlying theme of DLB. Not just romantically, but all the way around. Leia has been hammered, over and over, in a very short time period, with the repeated loss of everything and everyone she loves and is familiar with. Her natural instinct to hold back is screaming, "I TOLD YOU SO!!" over and over as Padmé and Obi-Wan and Shmi and Anakin and Darsana and everyone else are trying to draw her out. And that's before Leia gets to The Secret.

Anyway, none of the arcs are currently tagged with a ship for Leia because I have no plans to throw her into another relationship. But also, Leia has had to learn to live her life fully while always under the pressure of limited time and high stakes. She certainly fell for Han under that weight. Why not again?

And heaven forbid anyone tell her she can't fall in love because of her grief. Pretty sure she'd do it at that point just to spite the universe.

(to clarify: I am not that previous anon) The cannibal!will fandom is a really interesting phenomenon to me since it's being introduced to a fandom that's so very against anything 'out there' or 'nsfw' in any capacity, and since it's something that a lot of people are uncomfortable with (but I also see a lot of defense for it) it's getting a lot of push back. Stranger things is relatively gory and is still technically a horror/thriller (even if it's real silly sometimes) so to me it makes sense to lean into that as a fandom, but they also definitely have sexually charged scenes/hints of sex without making it too explicate for their audience and it's just like, basic, expected, normal sexually active human stuffs. Nothing crazy, nothing kinky. Just. Sex basically (pretty common in these types of shows esp teen thrillers, and even though it's there I appreciate they don't go overboard the way a lot of teen dramas try to play it up and that's always been weird to me, I digress) but even though it's there (just like the horror/gore/thriller aspect is canon and very real themes in the show) for some reason nsfw is still very frowned upon (I'm specifically talking about consensual relationships/aged up characters/adults content here that's still getting a ton of hate) to the point nsfw artists/writers are pushed out of the fandom as a whole, and it kinda feels like people are trying to do that in the instance of cannibal/will as well. It's really disheartening and I guess I'm a little jealous of the nice little pocket of 'freaks' /pos you've helped curate. Purity culture has destroyed curiosity and experimenting in a safe space such as fandom and it's weird af. Fandoms have been pivotal to a lot of people finding themselves and trying new things in safe spaces and I just don't understand how the Stranger Things community is this really weird staunchly anti-sex community, esp when the show itself is just. Not that? Never has been that? ISN'T that. (which I guess with how people be out here viewing Mike the way they do, what can I expect) This isn't a 'kids show' and I GET that there's a lot of kids in the fandom (but it's also definitely not just kids pushing people out of the fandom) but there's no age limit to this show and there are tons of people in different age brackets consuming this show and it's just weird how violently against curating your own content and consuming what YOU want to consume is so frowned upon. Sort of like... Just cause I'm in the Stranger Things fandom doesn't mean I want to see all the ships so I can just. Block them! People tag for a reason. There's no reason people should be dictating what can and can't be put on someone else's blogs, and people are so rude, and make uncalled for comments as if they have any right to tell you how to participate in fandom how YOU want to on YOUR OWN BLOG. It drives me crazy. This fandom is so very uppity and act like if you don't like exactly what they do then you're wrong and should feel bad and aren't allowed to be a part of the fandom at all, and I'm just tired of it. Sorry for the long rant. This isn't like... sorry if this comes off wrong. I'm not trying to attack you at all lmao I know how you feel about nsfw so sorry to come to you about it. It's just you always are so respectful and understanding that it's like, not your thing! And that it's ok to not want to view certain things! And I appreciate that a lot. Everyone is in their right to not want to consume certain content and that's totally understandable (esp when it doesn't line up with your personal beliefs or sexuality or anything like that) but you're not out here going to peoples blogs calling people shitty things for enjoying their fandom the way they want to. it is,,, a very nuanced topic. and while i do understand why there's a lot of debate surrounding the topic and i do respect a lot of the arguments for and against the concept, i think the main takeaway from all you said —from all the conversations i've ever seen about it— is that newer fandom members need to learn to curate their online experience.

the tools are there. they're not that hard to use. if seeing something sexual is upsetting to someone, it is relatively easy to avoid it both in ao3 and in here. if someone wishes such content didn't exist, it is quite easy to mute some words and blogs and voilà, it's like it actually doesn't exist !! there's no need to make big posts condemning the morality of content tropes one doesn't enjoy in fandom spaces, and there is absolutely no reason to go attack people who do engage with such content and are just doing their thing (which is a thousand percent worse than anyone creating anything "weird" >:\ ).

and the same goes for the dark stuff i enjoy (like cannibalism and all that). if someone doesn't like it they're free to block me,,, or if they don't want to do that but still don't want to see it, they can just block out certain words or my handy "dark byler agenda" tag. it's easy, it's there, and people need to remember to utilise such tools to cater the stuff they see to their taste ~

I struggle 💀 I'm barely joking lol. I prefer to read on Ao3, but there isn't that much Skz x reader stuff on there. I also go through the tags on here every now and then and if I'm really desperate I'll search for a ship on Tumblr (but the search function is terrible on here so that rarely gets me anythin). I am however an extremely picky reader and come back hands empty more often than not lol.

I have however started following some blogs that reblog other creators' stuff and I'd love to follow some more fic rec blogs for Stray Kids!

Hm, I don't consider myself as being very good at worldbuilding in general? I'm a character writer first and everything else comes second lol.

...The most I can think of is that I'm happy with the fact that people find the setting for iicngyp believable, specifically the whole 'mafia' aspect of things. But I don't know that I have much else lol

13. Are there any tropes you used to like but don’t anymore?

Oh definitely. We've talked about it already but I kinda struggle with enemies to lovers because oftentimes I hate the love interest or the whole thing is based on a misunderstanding or something. I like it when I think the characters have a good reason to hate each other (for iicngyp I think Jungkook has good reasons to hate the OC for example). The banter also get tiresome, sometimes I just want people to get along lol.

Fake relationship could be another one, though actually I haven't read that in a while and I'd be more open to trying it again now. I do really like aspects of that but I just wish people would get more creative with it! so for example I like the idea that there is a fake relationship but you fall in love with someone outside of the relationship who therefore thinks he can't/shouldn't pursue you bc you're with someone except you're not and then angst

(1) Localizing To Your Eternity/FnAe names in Chinese/replying to your tag-questions

I don't try to give Chinese names for East Asian characters/names, like Japanese and Korean ones, because they already have their own hanzi/kanji/hanja. On principle, I believe any self-respecting author (hacks, fucking move aside) has a rationale for the names they give. When I Chinese-fied a name, even if it's purely for self-amusement, what I'm doing is also translation—I'm trying to translate the author/writer's intent and meaning to its new language, and yet keep it aligned with the language's medium and context and culture itself. There ain't no need for that when it comes to East Asian names because their meaning is already spelled out.

But, you are spot-on that all that is thrown out of the window when the names are spelled phonetically; in this case, when it's written in katakana instead of kanji. I surmise it's to remind us that Fushi's world may "speak" Japanese to us readers, but they are meant to be not-Japanese. Their writing is different (kinda looks like Devanagari, the Sanskrit script, to me. But that's cause my knowledge of writing scripts is superficial and limited! Ha!), and even when their names "supposedly" sound Japanese, they are phonetic as though it's foreign to Japanese readers.

When things like this happen...

the safest way is to transliterate it. The same way things are done with a foreign name not based on kanji, like English names. Characters like March, Hayase, Parona, Kahaku et al. are translated (according to what I found) as 玛琪 (ma qi)，哈亚瑟 (ha ya se)，帕罗纳 (pa luo na), and 卡哈库 (ka ha ku) (I'd love to read it for you, but I can't here. So google's sexy robotic voice will have to do!).

Detour: Name translations surprisingly hinge on translators' and editors' breadth of knowledge and depth of understanding, innit? If I miss out on the context and meaning of a name, my translation/localization will lose that part of it. I know people say "things are always lost in translation" but I disagree. I think it's that "things are always a little different in translation", but what's lost may be gained in other ways, especially if the translator is skilled enough to do that—and that's not counting how readers themselves are essentially translating a work into their own knowledge when they internalize it, hence the whole "death of the author" shebang. I don't believe in a purist's take; the purist themself have already translated things their own way the moment they apply their interpretation. Nothing is permanent. Not even the meaning of words! WITTGENSTEIN!!!!

...YO SHIT WHERE WAS I? Oh, yea. There are, however, names that are localized into actual "Japanese authentic" names in FnAe, particularly those who appeared in the Modern Arc (prior to that, I think Fushi is the only one with an actual hanzi name: 不死. Undead). And that is when things get interesting—due to the lack of canonical kanji, it appears that the translators have taken the foreign-name approach and made up what they believe is the right one.

Satoru is easily (typically) translated into 悟, like how a certain cocky Gojo's name is written. It means "enlightenment" or "realization", and is thus my preferred translation given who Satoru is. But there was an instance of translating it into 聪, which means "intelligent, clever." Both seem right to me, but I'm partial to stuff like "enlightenment" for... reasons.

Mizuha is fun. You seem to interpret it as 水water羽feather. And I honestly think that's a good one given the things she seems to symbolically be tied to. But! There is one when she's translated as 瑞 叶 (rui ye), which is a very beautiful and highly plausible Chinese name, dang. 瑞 means "good, prosperous, good omen" while 叶 means "leaf". Unfortunately, this will be a name that loses parts of the meaning "Mizuha" likely alludes to... in my opinion. And yet, it may not be wrong still because an educated parent typically DOES give names filled with good meaning and blessing to their child. Why wouldn't Izumi and her husband do the same?

Another more contextually correct translation, by another bunch, for Mizuha would be 水叶 (shui ye), "water leaf". I personally think 水 is the best allusion because of Mizuha's symbolic connection to water, and because Izumi is translated by the same bunch as 泉 (quan), "springwater." I don't have much to say about "leaf" because... well, it's poetic and therefore up to each reader's interpretation of why it's a "leaf". Is she a leaf in a current of water she cannot hope to control?

Yuuki is translated by the first as 勇树 (yong shu), "brave, courage + tree". His name is translated as 祐樹 (you shu), "protection, blessing + tree" by the second. Both are fitting in my eyes, as they emphasize two aspects of his character. The former on his valor, and the latter on his benevolence.

There are plenty more but this part is as bloated as it can be already!

I am not a JP-ENG translator by any stretch. My Japanese status is "I'm learning goddammit" and it's about as good as a pre-schooler's, and even then I think I'm overestimating myself. Anyway, that level can't clear the bar needed to be a good translator, so I don't attempt it at all. However, you can! What kanji would you give this modern arc bunch—or even some Previous Era bunch—that fit their characters?

Miraculous Encanto AU Part 2

first this is the official part to my first post and I've finally named the au. Second I'll be tagging the last two posts and this one with the au name. This post will expand on some ideas I had in the first and include new ideas that I didn't have the energy to put in the previous post. I'll also include the hero names that I came up with for both Camilo and Marinette.

First up we all know CatMilo would call himself Catshift. This isn't even a discussion this is just Fact™.

Marinette was a little more difficult name wise, but I don't think she would call herself Ladybug with the ancient Chinese princess theme. I eventually settled on Princess Fortune. Though I'm open to suggestions.

Now we move onto powers. I've decided that if Marinette gets three powers then CatMilo gets three powers.

Of Camilo's three powers for his superheroing I've decided to play heavily into the Balance™.

First up we've got cataclysm. This one works the same as in the show. But Camilo only uses it on patrol to destroy hawkmoth's butterflies before they can reach whoever he's targeting. The show should honestly have way more akuma's than there are shown, and we know cataclysm can be used that way because we've it seen happen in the show. Its only shown that way the one time though. We were never shown that before the episode and it certainly wasn't brought up after. So I don't think adrishit ever did it before or after that episode. Catshift absolutely would though.

For the actual akuma battles Catshift has Chaotic Distribution, this is a black rubber bouncy ball that pops out of the staff. Camilo has to be very careful and strategic about how he uses it because it has no limitations. When thrown it causes insane amounts of destruction to things and people it hits and will only stop when it hits the intended target. When it hits the intended target it will turn neon green and either roll to a stop or bounce back into the hands of the person who threw it.

The neon green ball is Miraculous Retribution. The Miraculous Cure doesn't work on this power. This is because Miraculous Retribution brings consequences to those who contributed to the akumatization. Akuma victims for the most part are not punished, unless they themselves are in the wrong. Likewise, Miraculous Retribution doesn't work on the Miraculous Cure.

The time limit is still a thing because their kids.

Camilo is taken in by Alya's family and the twins adore him. Nora thinks he's pretty decent but the two aren't close. Alya dislikes him because she tried to force him to talk about stuff that he feel comfortable talking about and got in trouble when the twins saw and went to Nora about it. Nora took the information to their parents who lectured Alya about respecting peoples boundaries and privacy.

He helps Marinette babysit Manon who loves him just as much as she love Marinette.

When the Class elections roll around Camilo chooses to run against Chloe and convinces Marinette to be his Deputy. Although he has full faith in her leadership qualities he knows she lacks confidence in said area and wants to ease her into said confidence so that she can run for Representative in the next year.

Camilo is asked to be a backup drummer for kitty section since Ivan can't always be there. When Camilo points out that he doesn't have any experience with drumming Ivan offers to teach him. Camilo accepts and Kitty Section has a back up drummer who's there at practices in case something comes up and Ivan can't make it. Kitty Sections music develops a distinctly Columbian feel to it.

Marinette takes dance classes, specifically Ballroom dance, Camilo is in the same class and they're .paired up frequently. This contributes to be people joking about them being married couple since it's part of why they're so comfortable around each other.

While Camilo and Marinette are never seen doing anything Stereotypically Coupley™ people always assume they're Together™. Both are incredibly confused by this because they don't see anything romantic about their hangouts. This is both insanely frustrating and absolutely hilarious to those who know them in equal measure.

While hanging out they both stop by Andre's Cart to get ice cream. Marinette is given "Chocolate for his hair, Banana for his Sunny Disposition". Camilo is given "Blueberry for her hair, Strawberry for her Kind Heart." Neither catch on.
