What If: Victor is actually a Cancer Sun person?

Yeah, this is me talking about my astrological shit again, but rereading comics always leaves me thinking...

When we think of the Cancer sign, it's very common to automatically associate it with stereotypes: sensitive individuals, deeply attached to their home, family, and loved ones, maternal, empathetic, protective, and nostalgic to the core... But, what happens when people with Cancer Sun are unhealthy? This is when Vic comes into the matter.

(Of course, I know that a victim of physical and psychological abuse like Victor can also exhibit these behaviors as a consequence, but let me elaborate on this)

Those of us who read a lot about Sabretooth in the comics know that he is completely detached from sensitivity and people due to trauma. Because of this, he chose to follow the path of the wild, and that’s when he began to form his ‘shell,’ much like a crab would. He doesn’t allow others to know much about him to avoid being hurt, either physically or emotionally. Instead, he has the ability to intuit his enemy’s Achilles’ heel and attack it. Yes, if Victor doesn’t attack you with his claws, he’ll do it with his words, and we all know that he has quite a venomous tongue.

Because he couldn't nurture his element, he can't feel empathy for others either (and if he does, he's just being selective only to benefit himself).

Other more neutral aspects of the Cancer sign are nostalgia and leadership (yes, Cancer is a cardinal sign, which makes it a natural leader, just like Aries, Libra and Capricorn).

C'mon, we all know here that Victor is nostalgic asf, and he can't stop thinking about his past with Logan, military service, and the Weapon X project. It's practically his obsession and his canon event.

There's also brief mention about the White Fang going to help Vale's recovery.

First episode we saw Roman and Neo pickpocketing people at the festival, and that got paid off when they got into first class on the train.

That's 8 'nothings' that have happened in the episode. So if you want to break it down into the most important things, we can say establishing RWBY as rekindling their bond, Cardin and Russel's cameo, Emercury's discussion and Qrow's drunkenness as being the core elements.

RIM 878-882 summary

This post covers the Epilogue arc of Regressor Instruction Manual. To avoid spoiling anyone, I’m putting the contents under ‘Keep reading’ so read at your own risk.

A year has passed since Lee Kiyoung’s resurrection. A young girl named Belly (full name Belier) is on her way for an interview to join the Blue Guild, which is every adventurer’s dream. The Honorary Cardinal ‘woke up’ after 3 months (a.k.a. they put Kiyoung in the windowless room for 3 months, but the public thought he was in a coma). He did not want to be called a god and asked everyone to continue to treat him as a human.

On her way there she encounters 4 children: Cheru, Sera, Thoru, and Domi. 

The angels have become children without memories of their previous lives, each adopted by different people: Cheru to Cha Heera, Domi to Lee Jihye, Thoru to Kim Hyunsung, and Sera to Jung Hayan. The children were on errands, and Belly accompanied them back to the guilds they belong in. Rainbow cotton candy and mirror salmon are specialty foods of Lindel because it’s Kiyoung’s favorite food. The angel babies asked Belly to buy them rainbow cotton candy while Thoru wants to save his cotton candy for his Father (Kiyoung).

After escorting everyone else, Belly and Sera arrive at the Blue Guild where Sora came and took Sera away. Sora has a curse on her by Hayan that makes those that come in contact with her try to kill themselves, which Sora narrowly saves Belly from. 

Left on her own and late to her interview, Belly was mistaken for an intruder and attacked by Kim Yeri. She woke up and everyone at the Blue Guild was very apologetic about it. Belly noticed how everyone acts like family around there. The salaries and working conditions are incredibly good, with them being the most famous guild on the continent.

Soon more voices came from outside of the room. It’s Kiyoung who was berating Deokgu about the legal consequences of assaulting guests (he’s worried they’ll get sued lol).

Kiyoung comes in in all of his Light Kiyoung glory, radiating an aura of purity and frailty. Belly found herself crying, thinking about how her existence and everyone on the continent is what made the Honorary Cardinal sacrifice for them, and what brought him back.

Kiyoung coughs and everyone worries over his health, but he reassures them that he’s okay. Once he has Belly’s sympathy, Kiyoung then starts to talk about not disclosing what happened at the guild today. The two of them continue to talk about what Belly thinks of the Blue Guild. Kiyoung smiles and looks very happy while saying, “Every time I wake up, I think of how lucky I am to be with the people I love.” 

“It’s really fun to be with people you can rely on and share your heart with.”

The sun slowly sets, reflecting Lindel as Kiyoung continues to deliver his speech. In the distance, Hyunsung holding a paper bag with bread with one hand and various objects with the other hand walks over, waves, and calls out to Kiyoung who smiles. Belly musters up the urge to ask if she can be part of that family. With a smile reflected in the sunset, Kiyoung nods and welcomes her to Blue.

Long distant addition to the Unholy AU, but imagine if while all this is going down Ingo and Emmet wind up having some verrry important guest at the church where they both struggle to keep a whole cap on the demon thing so the guest doesnt find out. Mostly the twins work independently out of concern for each other, scared of what might happen to the other if their guest learned the truth about the demons.

Ah like a Bishop or Cardinal or something coming to check on the church. Since they're the heads of that parish, they need to be responsible and make sure to give their guest a proper welcome. Even if it's just for a day, allowing someone else to tour the grounds is stressful.

Of course the demons could do whatever they wanted. Their mission is based solely on the priests so they can make themselves visible only to them. And as fun as it would be to make things That Much More Difficult, it would be hard to make a priest sin if they lose their status as Priests. But boy do they play up being menaces beforehand, making the priests extremely paranoid and cautious. And peeking around corners and being general nuisances, like making out in front of the guest but not being Visible to them so it's fine. Still, Ingo nearly had a heart attack at that.

The twins themselves are still awkward around each other, so they tend to split the tour between them so they don't have to try and hide the tension from the guest. Emmet hates lying because it makes him feel bad. Ingo hates lying because it's morally wrong. So they do what they can to avoid lying, and that includes splitting up.

It goes off without a hitch, the guest sees that the church is in good hands (lol) and wishes them luck in the future. It was an incredibly stressful event, but instead of feeling a stronger bond from getting through it together, they feel more isolated and distant. They couldn't even work together to make this whole thing easier. No, they had to avoid each other to be able to act normal. How sad

Liking pineapples on pizza oh my god I always get so much shit for this! XD I love pineapple, I love pizza, and no I’ve never tried it and yes, don’t knock it till you try it but just no! never! 

Not drinking enough water when I was a kid I’d avoid it like the plague, but since 2014 when I developed CVS and as it’s progressed violently as the years go by, I’m severely sick with bouts of it more than I’m not and because I always get so dehydrated from it and the ER ends up being a revolving door for fluids because of it, I drink water as much as I can especially during being sick with it

Calling sick a lot at work I’d rarely ever call out of work or get my shift covered back when I was working

Leaving the dishes to “soak” in the sink a little too long not really soak, but rinsed off and left in the sink yeah sometimes

Putting things off until last minute oh yeah I’m a huge procrastinator, always have been

We have an Inconjunct or also known as Quincunx Mercury in Sagittarius against Mercury in Cancer. Now this isn't the worst inconjunction because I generally find Cancers emotional awareness and understanding communicative skills and perceptive abilities to fit Sagittarius Mercuries well as sometimes Sag can struggle with communication because Mercury is Detriment in Sagittarius so this can lead to avoidance or flighty communication skills, sometimes they can believe they're always right but Sagittarius mercuries are also really wise & insightful which pairs with Cancer mercuries well. They also think creatively and are down to pursue new topics quickly. So this inconjunction might bring conflict In terms of Cancers Mercuries cautious nature always making sure to be considerate before speaking and can dwell on topics sometimes. While Sagittarius Mercuries want to move on from potential arguments and not dwell on problems too much, they'd rather take initiative to solve them and can be too blunt for cancers liking.

In general tho I like the Cancer - Sagittarius axis cuz they just bring understanding and enrichment to one another. But this would definitely cause some conflict.

@dragonslayer-week 2022 Day 2 (July 26): Nerd Yang / Jock Jaune

(High School AU)

Whatever the deal was with these guys, Jaune would never know. He has spent all summer practicing, preparing for football season, but even with how much he had improved with his catching and route running, his "teammates" did not seem to like him at all. Four in particular. Was it because he'd improved? No, it's not like he would be taking any of their spots on the team. He was good, but not better than them.

But every day of summer workouts, Jaune would arrive to the locker room and either receive the cold shoulder from them, or receive short, combative warnings from them, about staying out of their way, "Don't look at me, Jaune boy."

His coaches weren't much help. "They're just being competitive." Again, Jaune knew that wasn't it. Why be so competitive with the 3rd string tight end?

It was Friday, scrimmage day. Jaune was having a good practice, having not dropped a single pass thrown his way, unless you count that throw that ended up intercepted because that definitely was not his fault. A few teammates were encouraging, but those same four guys, Cardin, Dove, Skye and Russel, could not stop making him feel uneasy.

After a particularly rough shove from Cardin, during a minimal-contact run-through, Jaune finally had enough. "What is your problem with me?!" He asked, pushing himself back up to his feet. He did not want to get into a fight with this guy, but Cardin was advancing towards him. Other team members and a coach had to step in.

The question was genuine. He really wanted to know why Cardin and his buddies were so hostile towards him. Jaune didn't think he'd done anything to them. In fact, he generally avoided them for obvious reasons. He didn't get an answer. The coach told Cardin to go take a seat on the bench for the rest of practice. He'd get a talking to afterwards.

After practice, Jaune waited on the curb near the field as usual, waiting for his ride home from his older sister (he could not wait to get his own car, whenever that day would come). Saph was notorious for running late, so he would probably be there for a while. And in this heat? He was fine with just sitting here instead of getting a little extra practice in like other team members often did. He just sat under this tree, on his phone.

Jaune: Practice is over. Now the wait begins

Yang: Lol nice. Wanna hang out later

Jaune: Maybe after I shower. And nap. And eat like ten hamburgers or smthn. Probably shower twice

Yang: Stinky

Jaune: Hey

Jaune: You're not wrong

He had been friends with Yang since they were kids, when his family would take vacations to Patch. Then Yang's family moved here, three blocks away from Jaune's house. That trip between houses was made many times on bikes. Or in Yang's case, on bikes, then on motorized bikes, and as she had been working on for a long time, eventually a proper motorcycle. She'd been saying she wanted to finish it before the school year started, and she promised she'd start giving Jaune rides to and from school. He wasn't completely up for it, given Yang had a reckless streak, but riding a motorcycle definitely sounded fun, even if it definitely would get him in trouble with his parents if they new about it. But Yang was wildly smart, so he wasn't worried about anything with the bike itself (he was still amazed that her dad let her build one).

This was an unusually long wait. Maybe Saph was occupied with her college classes, or studying, or Terra. He had probably been here for about an hour when he noticed someone walking his way. It was Cardin and his crew.

Yang: Hey, wanna see something cool?

Jaune didn’t have time to respond. These four were heading his way with a purpose. A purpose he was not excited about dealing with. He stood to his feet, trying to seem brave, but much like when on the field, he didn’t like his chances against four big defenders.

“You’ve fucked up, Jaune boy,” Cardin said. He towered about a foot taller than Jaune, and significantly wider too. He could probably squeeze the sap out of a tree trunk.

“What did I do?” Jaune asked, curious of what he’d say. Again, he legitimately wanted to know.

“Like you don’t know,” Cardin said, slowly closing the distance between them. Jaune instinctively began backing up, onto the empty road.

“I really don’t,” Jaune said. “You guys come after me for no reason.”

“There’s plenty of reason, pussy,” Cardin spat. “You think you’re all that, you think you’re better than me, well I’ll teach you, get you to know better.”

“What?” Jaune never considered himself better than Cardin. Football wise, anyway. They played two completely different positions. As a person, though? He was definitely a better person than Cardin.

“That girlfriend of yours,” Cardin continued. “No, actually, that bitch of yours.”

Girlfriend? This was news to Jaune. Wait… “You mean Yang?”

“Uhhh ‘you mean Yang?’” Skye mocked, chuckling with the others as they stood behind Cardin.

“She’s not my girlfriend,” Jaune said. “And she’s not a bitch, either.”

“Oh yes she is,” Cardin said. “She never told you? What she did to me?”

Jaune tilted his head. “Huh?”

“She stood me up, for you.”

Since when did Yang agree to go on a date with Cardin Winchester? “What?”

“She just needs to see who the real man here is,” Cardin said. “Not some piss rag like you.”

“I don’t know what you’ve convinced yourself is true, but Yang would never want to go out with you,” Jaune told him.

“That’ll change.” Cardin grinned and clapped his hands, rolling his shoulders as if warming up.

Jaune considered running, but where to? Besides, there was four of them, and Skye was especially fast. He was stuck here. Would he really have to do this?

“What’s it gonna be, Jaune boy?” Cardin said, standing and waiting to see if Jaune would step up. “Fight like a man?”

Jaune remembered something his dad once told him. “Men don’t fight, but children do.” Too bad Cardin was being a very big, very angry child right now. He swallowed down the lump in his throat. Yep, he had no choice…

“Pussy,” Cardin said and set on Jaune, stomping forward. Jaune began backtracking, evading Cardin’s attempts to grab and punch him. Jaune managed to shove him away, but that wouldn’t keep working. Fuck, where was Saph? Or the coach? Anyone that could stop this? Jaune just wanted to go home.

Cardin landed a glancing blow to Jaune’s temple. It didn’t exactly hurt that much, but triggered reflex tears in his eye, which steamed down his face. “Yeah, cry,” Cardin taunted, only for Jaune to quickly lower his shoulder and block him backwards. Cardin was surprised and stumbled back, falling to his butt.

Jaune took a shaky breath and stepped back. Maybe he’d stop now?

No, of course not, and now Cardin was even more angry. She got up and grunted, breaking into an almost-run towards Jaune.

It was then that Jaune heard the sound of a motor quickly approaching. He turned to look down the street. It was a yellow motorcycle, the rider wearing a very recognizable flaming gold helmet.

“Yang?” Jaune muttered, only to get punched in the face. He partially dodged, taking it just under the eye instead of the nose. He fell to the ground, but when he looked back up, Cardin’s attention was turned toward Yang, who had skidded to a stop and dismounted her newly completed motorcycle.

“Oh hey, look who showed up,” Cardin said, grinning at Yang. He cracked his knuckles. “Don’t worry, hun. Just settling some issues.”

Yang was dressed in a brown jacket over an orange tank top and black jeans. She slipped the helmet off her head, letting her hair fall and revealing a very angry expression. She kept toward Cardin.

“Yeah yeah, that’s it, bring it in, cutie,” Cardin said, arms outstretched as if expecting a hug.

He instead got a helmet to the teeth.

Cardin stumbled to his knees and roared in pain. He held his mouth, blood dripping on the street. “Whath the thuck?!”

Yang looked at the other three, all wide-eyed and frozen in place.

“Oh, shit.” Jaune muttered.

“Fuck outta here,” Yang grumbled to the three, and gestured to Cardin with her helmet. “And take him and his teeth with you.”

“Thuck you!” Cardin cursed as he stumbled to his feet.

“Come on, let’s tell coach,” Dove suggested.

“Yeah, tell your coach a girl knocked your huge gopher teeth out, tough man,” Yang said with a smile, flashing her silver braces.

“Thut the thuck up, bisch!” Cardin yelled, his voice breaking. The four turned and left, likely to get Cardin home and call a dentist.

Yang made sure to watch them leave, then turned in time to see as Jaune got to his feet. She shook her head. “What the fuck happened?”

“Apparently,” Jaune said as he watched the four leave too. “He’s pissed about you standing him up?”

Yang leaned her head back and groaned. “Seriously?”

“Since when do you like dickheads like him?”

“I don’t? But he just would. Not. Stop.” Yang paused and poked Jaune in the cheek. “Does that hurt?”

“Ow— Slightly.”

She stepped closer and looked at his eye closely. “Hmm.”

“I see you finished your bike,” Jaune said with a chuckle. “Good timing.”

“Your eye looks fine, I think.”

“I think it was mostly my cheek,” he said, acknowledging the annoying throbbing along his cheekbone. She was still looking at his face closely. He could feel her breath on his face. Hair was sticking to her forehead from wearing a helmet in this heat. “What’s with the red contacts?”

“I can’t wear my huge glasses under my helmet visor.”

“But why red?”

“I’m a weeb.” She nodded, then coughed and stepped back. “Yep, you’re stinky. Well…” She gestured to her bike. “Want a ride?”

“Maybe after you explain the rest of whatever the hell Cardin was talking about.”

“He would talk to me every day between classes last year,” she said. “And I kept saying no, no, fuck off, no. I think he just thought I was playing hard to get. Which I was. I was very hard for him to get, but apparently he’s no quitter.”

“And so you eventually agreed to go out with him?”

“No! He walked up to me, handed me a movie ticket, and told me to meet him at the theater at 10pm to see that Jay Hawk movie.”

“The one we went to see?”

“Yep! I took the ticket and brought you instead!”

Jaune blinked. “Well no wonder he thinks we’re dating.”

“He thinks we…? Well no wonder he tried to fight you. He’s an insecure little weirdo.”

Jaune chuckled. “Thanks for saving me, by the way.”

“I mean, thanks for giving me an excuse to knock the guy’s teeth out.” She looked at her helmet and sighed, pointing at the top. “Left a mark.”

“My condolences to your helmet on its injury,” Jaune said sarcastically, smiling at her.

She rolled her eyes and chuckled. “I’m sorry that douche hit you. That’s so fucked up, honestly. You didn’t do anything.

“Well, I don’t think he’ll mess with me anymore. He might think my girlfriend will come after him again.”

“I’ll take any chance he gives me,” Yang said honestly. “I just…really hate him. I hope he has that coin slot in the front of his face forever.

“Same.”

She led him over to her newly completed bike. “Well, what do you think?”

“You seriously built this whole thing all on your own,” Jaune said, not really asking, more just expressing his wonder. The bike had a yellow and orange color scheme and chrome accents. It was the coolest thing he had ever seen.

“With a little help from my dad.” She lifted the backseat and pulled a spare helmet from the hidden compartment. She tossed it to Jaune. “Safety first.”

He caught the helmet and laughed. “All that studying paid off then?”

“I taught myself how to build a motorcycle, and then I did,” Yang said with a shrug.

“Just as a fun little project.”

“Yep.”

Jaune would never not envy how smart Yang was. “So humble.” He said with a smile, then put his helmet on. “So, do I just…?”

She climbed onto the bike and started the engine. “Just climb on back.”

“Do I need to, like, hold onto you?” Jaune asked as he awkwardly got onto the bike behind her.

“Sure,” she said, having to yell over the engine. “If you really want to.”

He rolled his eyes and sighed, encircling her waist and locking his fingers together in front of her, because he didn’t know where else to put his hands. “How fast does this thing go?”

“Dunno, shall we find out?”

“Uh.”

He patted the side of the bike. “Hi Bumblebee.”

Yang laughed, leaning back and nudging him with her shoulder. “Shall I get you home so you can shower and nap and eat your hamburgers?”

“Yes please.”

“I could join you.”

“You want burgers?”

“No, to shower and nap with you, duh,” she said sarcastically, nudging him again, and making him blush. “We aren’t actually dating, remember?”

“Well, I mean…” Jaune began, muttering softly enough to where he assumed she wouldn’t be able to hear.

Yang giggled and revved the engine. “Off we go!” She took off down the street, accelerating much faster than Jaune expected. He yelped and leaned back, jabbing Yang in the stomach with his locked hands. She shook her head and for some reason, began driving in a serpentine manner, making Jaune wobble side to side. “Just getting you used to it!” She yelled.

“Ahhhh,” Jaune responded in the most respectable way he could.

Yang laughed again and accelerated. He was a bit more ready for it this time. As she got on a busier road and sped up, he couldn't help but laugh. This was awesome! And terrifying!

But if Yang was being truthful about giving him rides every day, he would surely get used to it eventually.

~ Pick-a-card: What you don’t see about yourself ~

Hey everyone! Welcome to my first pick-a-card reading!! Well, I’ll just assume that you already know what this reading is about on the title lol.

Pile 1:

Welcome Pile 1, first off I’m getting some air energy (gemini, libra, aquarius), as well as fixed energy (taurus, scorpio, leo, aquarius). Strong on aquarius energy.

Starting off, what you guys don’t see is how much of a big ball of sunshine you are. You radiate warmth and happiness. You don’t realize how you change the atmosphere of a room. I see a situation where a room of people who are really awkward around each other, looking at their phones, and avoiding eye contact. But once you step into the room, I see people sigh of relief because they know you’ll bring this optimistic energy into this situation. You can literally change people’s mood because of your presence. You make people feel energized and just overall just happy. LMAOO I can see you smiling at someone and just them getting hit with this slap of sunshine, then they feel energized the whole day. You just make people smile. 

You might be going through a transition right now, it can be as big as moving houses or something as small as how you dress yourself. I feel like you might not see this transition as a big deal but to other people it’s quite admirable. You are going through this transition with a lot of open-mindness and people are watching you like how can this person go through a transition like this, I don’t think I could ever do that. Like you’re not afraid of leaving behind something familiar such as your old favourite clothes. You’re so open to trying unfamilar things or just being in unfamilar situations. You don’t let anything hold you back. This is really seen in you, because of these transitions you’ve grown into someone so evolved. People really just watch you in awe while you go through these transitions.

Lastly, you don’t realize how patient you are. You’re not afraid to put everything on hold and just wait for the next step. Like you’re so self-aware, you know when you have behavioural patterns that don’t serve you and you actually stop and reflect. You actually do something to change these patterns and in my opinion that is so admirable. Also, I feel like people admire how you have a different perspective to things. LMAO I see like people always bothering you with questions like how you feel on this situation. Since your perspective is so eye-opening people might be crowding you for advice. You know when to put things on hold before they get out of hand. 

Some advice for you Pile 1 is that to stop forcing yourself to act happy all the time. It’s normal to experience sadness and it’s normal to not feel like you have to smile all the time. Stop thinking you’ll burden people with your emotions. There are people who care for you deeply, they won’t mind if you’re not smiley all the time. People love you for the way you are, don’t feel the need to act happy when you’re not.

Pile 2:

Hello my Pile 2′s!! Starting off I see some strong water energy (cancer, scorpio, pisces) and cardinal energy (aries, cancer, libra, capricorn). Really strong on libra and scorpio energy.

First off, you guys are so joyful and happy. You guys appreciate all the good things in life. I feel like towards other people you feel like home to them. You have such familiar energy. You’re just so supported and secure. LMAOO you radiate such big wifey/husband material. I feel like people really think that you’d be such an amazing partner to just settle down and start a life with. Also, I see that you’d really know how to throw an amazing party. I feel like if you threw a party people would be talking about it even months after it. You know how to have fun and just celebrate your efforts. I think you really know how to live in the moment and just let loose. You’re literally the whole package, you know how to let loose but at the same time you’re so supported and secure. Like what?!!? I feel like people would always  think to invite you to events because you bring such fun energy anywhere you go.

You guys are so emotionally mature and compassionate, it’s admirable. I feel like if life threw an emotional bomb at you. Instead of panicking, you guys would use your emotional maturity to take control of this situation. Even if you don’t realize it but you guys have such wise advice towards emotional things such as relationships and feelings. LMAOOO I see people asking you for relationship advice even if you haven’t been in a relationship yet because you radiate such maturity. You’re such an understanding person it’s crazy. People admire how you can be so compassionate towards people. I’m seeing people watching you, so they can understand how you can be like that. You’re words have a great impact on people, even if you don’t feel like a leader, people really view you as one. It’s like O majestic Pile 2, please offer you’re advice on this situation. LMAOAO

Lastly, you’re such a good friend. Like if someone lost you as a friend they would regret it so much because of how amazing you are. You’re like the ride or die type of friend. You’re so supportive towards you’re friends. Like you’re support really gives people motivation to do what they’re doing. You know how to have a good time like I see people smiling at your every word because of how funny you are. You’re again the whole package, you are always there for your friends, you know how to have a good laugh. Time really goes fast when people hang out with you. Even if you’re an introvert, you really do know how to socialize. People feel like you’d be the perfect person to collaborate with for projects because of how you are.

Some advice for you, is to be careful who you give out your energy to. There are some people who will use your compassionate heart for their advantage. So again please be careful to who you give your energy to.

Pile 3:

Hello Pile 3′s!! Starting off I see some earth energy (taurus, virgo, capricorn) and fire energy (aries, leo, sagittarius). Strong on the taurus, capricorn, aries energy.

First off, you guys have a really firm beliefs. You guys really stand up for what you believe in. You guys might be really passionte towards social injustices and you always spread awareness about it. It’s like you bring a light towards things that have been repeatedly ignored and bring justice towards it. You guys are really relatable and people admire the way you think. I see a scenario of people coming towards you to learn about your beliefs because of much you stand your ground on them. But the suprising thing about you is even if you have a firm belief in things you’re not afraid to learn about others beliefs. You’re curious on the ways of other people ways of thinking, it’s really respectable. 

You’re an incredibly nurturing person. You make others feel loved around you because of how you treat them. You’re love language might be acts of service and physical touch. You show love by doing things for others such as giving food or giving warm hugs. You’re like a mother to others. Not only just a mother but an incredibly hardworking one. You have such a good balance between home/friends and work. It’s super admirable. I can see people watching how you work and think how much they strive to be like you. You spread so much love and support towards everyone, you warm people’s heart. When people are around you they feel secure. They can just let loose and nothing bad will happen to them. You’re so compassionate, down-to-earth, and calm that people want to be near you because they love feeling this nurturing energy.

Lastly, you’re someone who can really plan ahead. Like you’re such an open-minded person towards growth and new possibilities. You explore every option you get and you decide which one you think is best. You’re not afraid to get out of your comfort zone and be in new experiences. You don’t doubt your self-knowledge and you charge in your path with so much courage. You always know your goals and you know how to fulfill them. It’s so admirable to other people because you know how to reach you’re goals and they wonder how they can do it too.

Some advice is to not be affected by people who shoot down your beliefs. You’re beliefs are your own, don’t let negative people ruin it just because they say some negative things.

ok time for my rousing (baseless) defense of trent crimm the independent (tl;dr skip to last paragraph lol)

tbh i thought we were all on the same page til i went hunting for trent’s 1.03 article and ONLY found kneejerk thinkpieces abt trent being “the worst journalist ever.” I skimmed them to see what evidence they pulled, and there was nothing outside of 2.11. This did explain the trent-apologist fics that popped up immediately after 2.11 though.

Obv, i disagree w the thinkpieces. Completely. this doesn’t reflect upon trent nearly at all, let alone poorly. I don’t blame him for writing the article, for asking for comment after publication, or for ‘revealing’ his source.

first of all, it’s (fictional) sports journalism. the basic stakes are shuffling big money around in the form of professional athletes, already wildly wealthy themselves. the show directly implies that while the media may be a factor in industry choices, it is never the deciding one. (ex: the media builds up an ‘over the hill” reputation for roy, but the team’s decisions abt his value completely disregard that aspect.)

secondly, it’s a nuanced conversation, even in the direct text (no pun intended) of the scene: the wording of the messages, ted’s reaction to each, etc. The core of my argumment is this: we don’t know trent. we don’t know the extent of his friendship with ted, we don’t know how he feels about his job, we don’t even know if he’s a good journalist (when ted asks what trent loves, he agrees that it’s writing – not journalism, football, or richmond).

by my count, we see him out of the press room thrice in the whole series (with jaime in 1.02, episode 1.03, and in the pub in 2.03). Yet ted has his number under “Maybe: Trent Crimm” and bakes trents 3yo birthday cookies. All we know of their friendship is from Ted’s perspective, and the show set up such a stellar foundation that we don’t need to see these things to know that ted is steadily chipping away at trent’s walls - or rather, “hopping over fences.”

And this text thread – in context –  cements the concept. they’re slightly more familiar than “work acquaintances” but nowhere near “genuine friends.” Not close enough for trent to bury the story, or even meet in person, but close enough that trent doesn’t want to participate in the betrayal.

I don’t blame him for writing the article: it’s his job. I don’t fault him for asking ted for comment after the digital article went up – at the least he’s trying to maintain control over an awkward situation, and at most it can still be slipped into either digital or print copy. and despite it apparently being the cardinal sin of journalism, i don’t fault him for revealing his source to ted specifically.

The reason journalists protect anonymous sources is retaliation; vengeful slander of the source, physical confrontations, or economic consequences (losing jobs). But while Trent & Ted aren’t all that close, they’re close enough to stop for a chat in the local pub. Close enough that ted knows trent’s kid’s birthday. close enough that trent gives ted a personal (if belated) heads up abt the article.

if our model for the ted/trent relationship is ted’s other relationships, the ted that trent knows is unabashed, compassionate, and honest. therefore, it’s safe to assume that trent trusts ted. he not only trusts him not to act poorly upon this information shared in confidence, but he also trusts ted not to ruin trent’s journalistic reputation. whether he’s correct remains to be seen, but as of now, ted’s the only one who knows trent’s revealed his source.

and ultimately: it’s a tv show. ultimately, trent’s entire narrative function is the personification of the sports news media. the text message scene did exactly what the narrative needed in order to move forward in a tight, economic, and (imo) clever way. this is not the first time the show has bent logic a little (even aside from beard after hours): nate spontaeously became a coach, jamie goes back to richmond basically bc he wants to, no one tells ted about regulation, etc. The show, like all great narratives, skips past the red-tape practicalities to give us what we want. In both Doylist and Watsonian contexts, trent directly telling ted – and only ted – about Nate’s betrayal protects Nate from the vicious jaws of the outside press while avoiding the miscommunication trope and giving richmond staff the time, space, and safety to work through this internally.
