we haven't talked about this in a long time but i am still vaguely thinking about moretti, carlo, and tony balls and how love is ruin (carlo conspires w/ the vinci family to kill moretti) and love is salvation (tony and moretti being close, carlo sparing him although he gets injured as collateral). you'd think carlo would've swept the ranks of any guy close to moretti after his takeover, yk?

yeah.........i think.  it would make sense if he tried to purge anyone he thought might be a threat.  but also, there’d been so much bloodshed already, and not only would it confirm the suspicions that carlo had been the one to kill his boss, but also...part of me thinks he did it because he thought it was for the greater good, that moretti was behind the times, and, well, one way or the other, the war had to end.  or maybe he told himself that was why, at least.  (maybe he felt bad, maybe by keeping tony around it was like the old man wasn’t entire gone...)

it ties in with my theory that rocco was one of moretti’s capos, and carlo made him underboss to keep him happy.  instead of sweeping the ranks...if he could make moretti’s closest circle loyal to him, it would prove he was the legitimate don.  it’d be more of a victory.  y’know?

He is Amelia's father and is also the current sage of Untamed Magic. He will be training Carlo to take over his position. He is glad to hear he has a daughter but was told that she shows no signs of being a Fairy or Spellcaster.

In effetti, il portavoce di Europa Verde e parlamentare di Avs non ha speso nemmeno una parola sul caso dell’assistente parlamentare di Ilaria Salis scoperto a incitare apertamente alla violenza contro il premier Giorgia Meloni, “scusandosi col dir non lo conosco”.

Non ha dato solidarietà ai tanti giornalisti e politici(alcuni del centrosinistra) indicati al pubblico ludibrio come “sionisti” dal sedicente Nuovo Partito Comunista Italiano. E da continuo(a parole alterne) difensore della giustizia sociale, è rimasto in religioso silenzio su Stellantis, che ha appena dato 36 milioni di euro di compensi al suo amministratore delegato, Carlos Tavares, annunciando contemporaneamente il licenziamento e la cassa integrazione per 15mila persone.

Come in un famoso film di Nanni Moretti(allora il destinatario era Massimo D’Alema) verrebbe voglia di suggerire a Bonelli di “dire qualcosa di sinistra” o, almeno, in alternativa, di “dire qualcosa”. Ma di serio però.

One sixteenth-century chronicler describes the burning of three hundred women in Como in 1514.

The discrepancies among the sources are too great to arrive at any consensus, and estimates of the number of executions, range from about thirty to several hundreds.

Carlo Ginzburg's theory helped to understand the shamanistic roots of witchcraft beliefs. In addition, he shed light on how the theories of the elite filtered the narratives of the people and transformed them into Sabbath beliefs.

According Duni (2021) there were 650-750 executions in All Italy region  -trials, between the 14th-18th centuries. Total number of trials was estimated to be 22000-33000.

😇In Milano & Como Cardinal Borromeo was directly involved with 7 of executions and indirectly in 64-100 cases.

🔥In 1569, the more moderate cardinal-inquisitors had the upper hand, when the Congregation refused to confirm the death sentences of seven women from Lecco who had confessed to participating in the witches’ sabbath and causing the death of children. One of the accused died as a result of her incarceration, but the Congregation prevented the execution of six others, notwithstanding pressure from Borromeo (1538–1584), archbishop of Milan, who wished to secure their death. ☠️

🛐St Borromeo (1538-84) was one of very few saints with the responsibility for holding a significant number of witchcraft trials. He was as relentless in his determination to punish anything related to magic and superstition as he was against Protestants.⛪️

In the Ancient Rome the other two types were: erotic curse tablets & circus curse tablets - for chariot races & gladiators.

”It was also rather normal for prostitutes to be practitioners of magic themselves. Their livelihood depended on their capacity to retain clients at all costs.” (Moretti 2019)

The Judical curse was seen in the Devil’s Advocate. Santeria priest binds the prosecutor’s fluent speach by using cow’s tongue and nails.

This long tradition of folk beliefs was more common in Italian witch trials also in the Early-Modern era - Sabbatical beliefs were more rare - usually the accused was on trial for the crime of heresy. Devil was more uncommon than other older gods in the court records.

Israele ha reagito al massacro di israeliani compiuto da Hamas il 7 ottobre. “Sì, ed è stato giusto reagire, il 7 ottobre è stato un massacro orribile, un crimine pesantissimo contro cittadini inermi, un atto da condannare senza riserve. Bisognerebbe però anche vedere cosa è successo in Palestina prima del 7 ottobre. A Gaza siamo di fronte a una guerra asimmetrica, Hamas non ha neanche un’unghia dell’esercito israeliano e questo si è visto chiaramente in questi mesi. E’ tipico delle guerre asimmetriche assistere allo scoppio di atti terroristici efferati, perché sono una sorta di vendetta. Va allora estirpata la radice profonda che sta alla base di certi atti. Noi dobbiamo fare in modo che non ci sia più un 7 ottobre ma non così, non con le migliaia e migliaia di vittime innocenti, bambini soprattutto, bombardati o uccisi dalla sete e dalla fame: dopo un tale abuso su una popolazione inerme, come può Israele pensare di avere pace in futuro?”.

Yeah sure, mafia 2 doesn’t have the best writing ever but I love, and genuinely love how paranoid Clemente is portrayed. At least in my eyes.

If it was just the way he keeps strict old fashioned rules (even more than Vinci, since we have Galante telling us that he listens to the young hotheads), but he genuinely doesn’t have an underboss even if Luca seems to be somehow filling this role, since he seems to be doing most of logistics?? Idk how to explain it but like, but the fp files do show few some moments where it’s Luca, not Clemente but Luca, dealing with the other dons right

So we can assume that yeah, Luca is somehow the underboss but he doesn’t have the official title. Why? Maybe it might have something to do with the fact that Luca literally killed his previous capo for climbing the ranks the same year that Carlo took over after Moretti, who died and Carlo was ready to just yk, jump in and take over? Just Clemente being scared shitless that Luca (who is very impulsive and known for his not so calm behavior) might pull the same shit on him? He did it once after all.

I don’t know, just liking how it lines up (at least in my head). Like, he’s already seen like second rated next to the other families, so don’t tell me that he didn’t live in paranoia that someone might take him out and take it over, because after all he’s just second rated to everyone else.

As always, this might all be just in my head so don’t take this like me trying to preach this as a fact. It’s more of a head canon anyway, I just wanted to share this idea 😄👍

Brazil’s President Fires Intelligence Agency’s Second-in-Command

Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva has dismissed a top official in the country’s intelligence agency amid an investigation of suspected illegal spying involving the son of former President Jair Bolsonaro.
