#cassidy watches buffy
Text
I could not be friends with a boy who continued to flirt with me and make comments about wanting to date me and being jealous of my boyfriend despite knowing I wasn't interested. Like major ick creeping into creepy loser territory.

taking inspiration from kasey with the pinboards. Here is my plotting/ starter call for the mini event. If you want a starter please be very specific about muses. Also if you like this for plotting i'll hop into your DMs. I'll be dropping most older threads pre event but keeping new ones going or plot heavy and important ones. But yeah that's it from me here goes:
Alastor - Going Solo
Alastor is chaos so he is likely going to be wandering around, watching and learning. Causing some chaos. Maybe talk to a few people, get a few secrets from people. He might offer up a song or two. Possible plots: People wanting to cause chaos with him, someone who spills their heart out to him, roaming around the museum together, judging people together. (2/3) - Shu Hualing, Clara
Angel - Going with Buffy Summers
Angel does not like events like this. He is going because he wants to be with buffy and he is trying new things. But he's still often going to be found wandering or in a corner. Possible plots: people watching from the sidelines as well, wandering the museum together (1/3) - Buffy
Billy Loomis - Going with Jill Roberts
Billy wonders what sort of chaos will happen but he is looking forward to getting to dance with his girlfriend. On this night he might not be focusing on Ghostface quite as much and more on her. (He does still have his knife on him just in case). Possible plots: causing a little bit of chaos, drinking, wandering around. (2/3) - Jill, Tara
Charles Xavier - Going with Ororo Monroe
Charles promised her to focus more on her so for this time he is really trying to make it about her and not work. He is going to try his hardest but will be quite sad that he cannot dance with her properly. Possible plots: Charles talking your muses ear off about the museum, having a drink with the professor, exploring the museum. (3/3) - Rose, Feng Yu , Ororo
Charlie Weasley - Going with Lydia Martin
After the war he struggles with big social events so it is going to require some getting used too. Especially since he used to be a social butterfly. He will be drinking, exploring and just chatting to as many people as possible. Possible plots: exploring, having a dance, drinking buddies. (1/3) - Dora
Charlotte Emily - Going with Max Lightwood
Charlotte never really got to experience these things and the random date thing with Max as well makes her nervous. Her aim will to be have fun but not to get overwhelmed and keep the puppet at bay. possible plots: someone who helps calm her down, someone to drink with, someone to explore with (2/3) - Cassidy, Mike
Cleo Mckinnon - Going with Thor Odinson
Cleo just wants to get away from the family drama and have a fun night. She will try to keep the peace in her family if things happen as best as she can but she wants to be able to enjoy her night with Thor. She wants to explore and be a person. possible plots: someone to explore with, someone to drink with, family plots. (1/3) - Thor
Cordelia Goode - Going with Alastor Moody
Cordelia loves an elegant event. She is even happier to go with Alastor. She is looking forward to a romantic evening with some dancing and conversation. possible plots: drinking together, exploring the museum, getting some fresh air (2/3) - Qi Yang, Alastor
Cullen Rutherford - Going with Jing Xi
Cullen doesn't like events like this but being who he is he needed to show his face and participate in the event. He is really awkward and uncomfortable but he will try. Just be ready for awkwardness. possible plots: exploring the museum, having a drink together, getting some fresh air, fellow government staff, catching him trying to sneak off. (0/3)
Dream - Going with Avar
Dream is not good in places like this. But he is trying, he really is. He will likely be on the sidelines most of the time. He won't try to leave because he's there with Avar but likely spending a lot of time outside. possible plots: exploring the museum, getting some fresh air, being with him when he tries a drink, judging people together. (2/3) - thanatos, Avar

Harwin Strong - Going with Rhaenyra Targaryen
Getting to go to an event like this with his wife. He is very excited because he never got to show them off back home. They got that one dance together and it was so nice, one of the times he knew he loved them. He never got to show his affection so getting to now, he is very excited. He is so in love and cannot wait to dance with them. Even if he is not overly fond of parties. possible plots: exploring the museum, getting a drink, parents happy to have a night off. (0/3)
Henry Creel - Going with Phoebe Buffay
Henry is curious if anything will happen at this event. He is very intrigued by the whole thing. He agreed to do the blind date thing out of sheer curiosity. Not that he actually cares but he is a curious individual. He will be hungry for some chaos. possible plots: exploring the museum, creating some chaos, catching him trying to sneak into a place he shouldn't be going. (0/3)
Hera Syndulla - Going Solo
It'll be a fun night even if she's going solo. It's going to make her miss Kanan more than usual but she's happy to show her face. She wants to support her colleagues and meet new people. Maybe explore the museum. possible plots: hanging out with colleagues, having a drink or two, interacting with her pilots, exploring the museum. (0/3)
Hunter - Going with Rowena Ravenclaw
Hunter is getting better about going to these events. He is become more accustomed to not just being a soldier. He is looking forward to spending some time with Rowena, he will not dance because he cannot dance and doesn't want to embarrass him in front of her. He will try not to work either. possible plots: enjoying the vibes, exploring the museum, having a drink, someone trying to convince him to dance. (2/3) - Feyre, Rowena
Iorveth - Going with Lexi
Iorveth doesn't do these sort of events. Back home he was actively shunned so he never got to. He doesn't know how to do these sort of parties but of course Lexi dragged him along. He is reluctantly there. He will not dance. (Lexi will likely make him). possible plots: exploring the museum, having a drink or a few, watching from the sidelines, going outside for a bit. (0/3)
Loki Laufeyson - Going Solo
Loki is going because of curiosity and he works at the museum but he's not super keen. He doesn't need the reminder of all the festivities back home that he suffered through because no one really wanted to interact with him. But he's here. He might set of some magical fireworks or bring things in the museum to life because funny. possible plots: playing some tricks, exploring the museum, having a drink or a few, catching him trying to escape. (1/3) - Wei Wuxian
Nimona - Going with Reggie Peters

Rabastan Lestrange - Going with Narcissa Black

He will not engage in fights. possible plots: having a drink or two, exploring the museum, someone trying to engage in a fight with him. (0/3)
Satine Kryze - Going with Obi Wan Kenobi

She knows it's important to show her face as well as a senator. possible plots: other government people, having a drink or two, exploring the museum. (0/3)
Sanji - Going with Nami

Zash Baen - Going with Megara
This is so not his scene. He is going because he has been paid by Jabba to keep an eye on him. The blind date thing is to cover why he is there. He won't make it obvious that he is watching his boss. He will have his lightsabers on him. possible plots: drinking a decent amount, trying to engage him or gossip with him, exploring the museum, finding him sat away from everyone. (1/3) - Alani

Changes to the Popular Pairing List
Over nearly 9 years of Femslash Revolution, we have watched the popularity of many, many pairings rise and fall again. In order to better reflect this, we have decided to switch how we define our popular pairing list, which determines which pairings are too popular to be posted on Rarepair Thursdays.
Previously, posts were added to the list when they had appeared on the blog over 20 times across its whole duration. Under the new system, we will look at the number of appearances in the 10,000 most recent posts, which reflects approximately the last 18 months of content. Any pairing with more than 10 posts in that time span will be added to the list, while older pairings which no longer receive so many posts will be removed.
The full contents of the new Popular Pairing List appears below the cut.

"I know what tattoos are," Buffy stated matter-of-factly, trying to cover her embarrassment at being caught staring at his back. "I didn't expect you to be shirtless." You're not helping your case, she thought to herself.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Well, good on'ya." Throwing on a robe was hardly covering up, but it was at least close. "Aye, an' I didn't expect company. Guess we're both shite out of luck, ey?" Cassidy turned to regard young woman with a raised brow. "Can I help ya', or did ya' just come to watch the show?"

Butch: *is on the floor, red-faced, with his hand on his forehead* I can’t breathe!
Meowth: *walks over to Butch* This is a kid’s show, you joik! *playfully punches his shoulder*
Butch: *hides his face in his elbow, crying with laughter*
🎬
Cassidy: Let’s do it, Butch!
Butch: *pops up onscreen, already corpsing* It’s Butch, not- *scoffs and laughs* I, I got the giggles; I’m sorry.
🎬
Butch: (in his mummy bandages, pulling down the ones over his nose and mouth) Can I have a scene like James, where I dramatically remove my bandages like everything’s good?
Producer: Sorry, no room in the timeline.
Butch: *chuckles, as Cassidy giggles* Ah, fine.
🎬
Director: Okay, that’s a wrap for this scene!
Butch: We’re done here?
Director: Yep.
Butch: Awesome. *whips off his bandages like James* Let’s boogie!
*Everyone laughs, and applauds*
Cassidy: *laughs, as she claps* Nicely done there. Very nice.
Butch: *bows for everyone* Thank you, thank you.
🎥
(Ep: Showdown at the Oak Corral)
Butch: *he and Cassidy roam the lab in their disguises, and he bumps into a tree, making everyone laugh; he lifts the top up, revealing his smile* I can’t see where I’m going in this thing. *chuckles*
🎬
Tracey: Oh! I’ve heard of you guys. You guys are the other ones; you’re Cassidy, and you’re Biff.
Butch: *does face fault* Biff?! *ends up losing balance and falling to the ground, with everyone laughing, including Tracey calling him a klutz; he smiles, his elbow on the ground, and his cheek on his fist, before he bursts into giggles, with his forehead on his arm*
🎥
(Ep: The Breeding Center Secret)
Butch: *sees the Sandshrew crawling out of the half cage (two parallel walls), revealing the CGI effects* Oh! No! Hey, come here! *laughs, as he crawls after it* Sandshrew, you gotta stay! It’s not a real cage, buddy!
🎬
Butch: *waits for Todd’s camera flash to appear at the conveyor belt; he snickers when nothing happens, and glances at Cassidy and the crew at their side* One sec. *crawls on the belt, and sticks his head in the back room through the curtain at the belt* Hey.
Misty: *jumps* AAH! *bursts into laughter along with Ash, Brock, and Todd, with a hand over her heart*
Butch: *laughs* Where’s the camera flash I was supposed to see?
Misty: You, you gave me a heart attack!
Butch: My bad.
Todd: *wipes tears from his eyes* Sorry; the flash was off.
Butch: ‘Kay. *flinches, and yelps* Hey! Who did that? Someone just slapped my butt!
Cassidy: *laughs from the other room, as a cackling James escapes the set* James!
🎬
Cassidy: And do you know why we're so popular? It's because we believe in love. We feel every Pokemon is lovable. We believe in Pokemon love power!
Duplica: *pops up in Butch's place* Love power! Yay!
Cassidy: Ya-! What the-? *turns to see a laughing Duplica running off set* What-what the- who-who was that?! *cracks up laughing* BUTCH!
Butch: *proudly walks in with an arm around Duplica, as they're dressed alike* Cassidy, everyone, meet my stand-in, and my niece Duplica.
Cassidy: YOUR-?! *laughs harder* Oh Arceus, Butch! I thought you turned into a little girl! *wipes tears of laughter away, holding Sandshrew*
(Ep: The Fortune Hunters)
*While filming the scenes with James in his Moltres outfit, no one can keep a straight face*
🎬
Ash: And you tricked a lot of little kids into giving you their Pokemon.
Brock: How low can you guys go?
Cassidy: (with no hesitation whatsoever) Get a limbo stick, and let’s find out.
Butch: *snorts, and bursts into laughter, along with the twerps*
Cassidy: Off the cuff!
🎥
(Ep: Sleight of Sand)
Cassidy: Hootch, after them!
Butch: Come on! That doesn’t ev-! *slips up, then does a silly little dance, pumping his hands up and down with “rock on” hand gestures* Cha-cha cha-cha cha. *everyone laughs with him, as he goofily bows*
🎬
Jessie: Where’d you get that bucket of bolts?!
Butch: It’s actually a present from Prop-Prof- *trills his tongue, and snickers*
🎬
Butch: It’s actually a present from Propeller Kimba. *bursts into laughter with the rest* I, I said propeller! *answers the phone when it rings*
Namba: *cracking a grin* IT’S NAMBA!!!
Butch: *laughs even harder, almost dropping the phone, and slowly falls to his knees*
🎬
Butch: It’s actually a present from Professor Kimba. *waits when the phone doesn’t ring; he scoffs and laughs after a couple seconds* Kimba! Pick up the phone! *cracks up*
🎬
Butch: It's actually a present from Prop- *throws a goofy, playful tantrum* Ack, gah, I did it again! *cracks up*
🎬
Butch: It's actually a present from Prop- *smiles widely, trying not to laugh, as Cassidy tries to control herself; he then turns to the button used to raise or lower them from their contraption*
Cassidy: *laughs even harder when he lowers himself down* Wait-where are you going?! *goes down on her knees, wiping tears from her eyes*

Twelve Dreams of Dr Sardonicus by Spirit
My parents were desperate for me to like classical music, but I just couldn’t buy into the length of the pieces. Then they played me Adagio for Strings by Samuel Barber and it was so beautiful, I cried. My school music teacher, Mr Vassal, asked for our favourite composers; I said Samuel Barber and he laughed at me. But eventually everyone caught up.
There was a Beatles versus Stones vibe at school. I was on the Beatles side. The first single I bought was Wild Thing by the Troggs and the first album was Bookends by Simon and Garfunkel. I loved Father and Son by Cat Stevens, because it made me think of me and my dad. My tastes weren’t shocking; they just needed to open up. Then, when I was 17, I went to hospital to have my tonsils out and my brother bought me some records and this mobile turntable in a suitcase.
Twelve Dreams of Dr Sardonicus by Spirit had the most amazing way of manipulating stereo. I was just blown away. I have to thank my brother; he turned me on to Joni Mitchell, Andy Pratt and Little Feat and opened up my boundaries.
Little Brother, Little Sister
My mother, Helen Shingler, was famous during my teens for playing Madame Maigret in a BBC series based on the Georges Simenon stories. My father, Seafield Head, was a producer and director at Verity Films, the documentary film company. Every year, a family friend’s mum would hire this huge barn and put on a play. I had a bit part in The Jackdaw of Rheims. The next year, I got to be the Emperor in The Emperor’s New Clothes. As I walked through the audience, all heads turned towards me and I remember thinking: “This is what I want to do for a living.”
I applied to the National Youth Theatre and the Central School of Speech and Drama, but I didn’t get in, so my father hired me as a runner and assistant editor. Working in the cutting rooms was fascinating. Then I enrolled at The Young Stagers at the Thorndike theatre in Leatherhead, run by this lovely woman called Joan MacAlpine. She directed me in an extraordinary piece called Little Brother, Little Sister, which got me into the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. My teacher said: “If anybody can make me cry, I’ll take them to the theatre.” I did my piece again and made her cry.
The Rocky Horror Show
I remember being taken to The Rocky Horror Show on Kings Road when I was at drama school in my late teens. Tim Curry was playing Dr Frank-N-Furter – the role that he repeated in the film. Watching The Rocky Horror Show ignited something in my core. I knew I had acting in my blood because of my mother. Now I couldn’t wait to finish drama school and try to make it in the real world.
I finally got to play Dr Frank-N-Furter when The Rocky Horror Show came to the Piccadilly theatre in 1990. The exciting thing about acting is that you shouldn’t know what’s coming out of the actor’s mouth next – and I didn’t hold back. I just let whatever was going on inside of me come out in the character. That was life-changing for me as an actor. It made me realise that there’s nowhere that you can’t go.
Friends would come to see me perform and later say that they hardly recognised me, I was so out of character. As an actor, that’s a huge compliment.
Judi Dench
Judi Dench and Maurice Denham in 1966’s Talking to a Stranger. Photograph: Everett Collection/Alamy
One of Judi Dench’s early roles was this show on BBC Two called Talking to a Stranger, with Michael Bryant, Maurice Denham and Margery Mason. It’s about this family who are at odds with each other. Each of the four parts focuses on one family member’s view of what is going on around them. I thought it was beautiful, amazing and absolutely genius and I just fell in love with Judi. I thought that she was the most amazing actress – and still do. Judi taught me that acting can be at its best when it is very subtly underplayed. The core of believing an actor is buying into the fact that they’re not acting.
I got to play the rather unpleasant suitor of one of her on-screen daughters in Love in a Cold Climate on the BBC in the early 00s. I’m sure I must have said to Judi: ‘I think you’re so wonderful.’ Actors need appreciation and recognition. I suppose for me that will always be for Buffy, because Buffy was so different and so pivotal for its time. The episode called The Body, where Buffy’s mum dies, is the most extraordinary piece of writing and misdirection. I’m very grateful to have done so many evocative things that so many people have latched on to.
Paul Newman
Robert Redford and Paul Newman in 1969’s Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. Photograph: Photos 12/Alamy
I love Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. Each act is so brilliantly put together; it’s a stunning piece of writing. Both Robert Redford and Paul Newman are phenomenal, but Newman especially I’ve always loved, because he’s so believable that he instantly transports you into the story. I also loved Henry Fonda in Once Upon a Time in the West, in which he plays the baddie, which is unusual.
I often get cast as baddies. I don’t know why. I play Rupert Mannion on [the Apple TV+ sitcom] Ted Lasso. He’s a particularly unpleasant character and a complete narcissist, but you know where he’s coming from. To make somebody believable, you have to see their point of view. You don’t need to like them, but you have to be on board with what’s driving them.
I’m also in an episode of the new series of Back with David Mitchell and Robert Webb. I get to play a totally self-absorbed character called Charismatic Mike, who was great fun to play. It’s always been my theory that actors are hugely insecure, which is why we love dressing up and being someone else, because we don’t have to be in our own heads and bodies. Then we can express things that we may feel deep down and blame it on the character.
Lord of the Flies
At drama school, I really liked the people on the stage-managing course who were studying things like costume, lighting and prop-making. People used to say: you have to behave like a star to be thought of as a star. So, traditionally, a lot of actors take stage managers for granted.
I get very cross with actors who just throw their clothes on the floor. I said to one actor recently: “Costume are here before you, setting up your clothes, and they’re here after you’ve gone. Pick up your clothes, put them on a hanger in your cupboard. It’s not a big deal.” Teamwork is important.
At school, one of the books that blew me away was Lord of the Flies. It’s also about teamwork and not necessarily someone standing in front becoming the leader. In your teens, the world is yours to do what you want with. As you grow up, you realise you’re just part of something much bigger. Now more than ever, life should be about teamwork and for the cause of the greater good.
School’s Out Forever is available on digital from 15 February and DVD and Blu-ray from 12 April

I started watching Preacher and in a completely unsurprising turn on events I've become deeply attached/weirdly attracted to Cassidy. What can I say, I'm a sucker for smart ass, slightly trash characters with accents and vague supernatural elements. It's Buffy/Misfits/Umbrella Academy all over again.

Preacher is unwatched, unloved, and doomed — but Tulip O’Hare goes on (The Verge)
By Noah Berlatsky  Aug 14, 2019, 11:42am EDT
In the fourth and final season of AMC’s comic book adaptation Preacher, tough female lead Tulip O’Hare (Ruth Negga) is subjected to a Rorschach test psych evaluation. She tries her best to pass it, looking at each image and eagerly describing the grisly murders she sees in every inkblot. After she’s done, her kind doctor nervously explains, “The test results indicate that you’re an uninhibited deviant with a personality disorder prone to psychopathic outbursts. And a gun fetish. And unresolved abandonment issues.”
Tulip, who was painfully hopeful when talking about disembowelments and headshots a moment earlier, sinks into herself and acknowledges that the diagnosis fits. When the doctor tries to comfort her, she just gives him a sad little smile, like she’s trying to cheer him up. “It’s okay. Some people can’t be helped.”
The scene feels like a Monty Python skit with a heart, a lovely encapsulation of why Preacher has been such a wonderful show. It may also explain why the series has been largely ignored by critics and gradually abandoned by viewers. The setup for this scene — Tulip’s preposterous, hyperbolic blood-and-brains reactions to a simple association test — is an absurdist sketch comedy gag. But Negga is so fully committed to the bit that it doesn’t feel like a cheap punchline. It’s more like she’s coming to terms with the joke that is her life. Her combination of cynicism and sincerity, of ironically fantastic narrative and natural, nuanced acting, seems almost designed to alienate every potential audience.
Preacher is based on the famously profane Garth Ennis / Steve Dillon Vertigo comic about small-town Texas preacher Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper) who’s inhabited by Genesis, the most powerful entity in the universe. Genesis gives Jesse the power of command, meaning he can make anyone who’s listening to his voice do whatever he says. Angry about how messed-up the world is, Jesse sets off on a quest with his girlfriend Tulip to find God and make him explain himself.
The comic was an exercise in blasphemous nastiness, and over four seasons, the television show has taken that foul baton and gleefully run with it. The first season ends with virtually every character dying in a giant fecal explosion when the safety systems malfunction at a pig shit management facility. One person who escapes is named Arseface (Ian Colletti) because his face, badly disfigured after a botched suicide attempt, looks like a giant anus. Meanwhile, God (Mark Harelik) has come to earth to listen to jazz and participate in unspecified sex acts while wearing a full-body dog fetish suit. In the fourth season, the gross-out humor doesn’t let up. Jesse’s vampire friend Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) is captured and tortured by having his foreskin repeatedly removed. (Vampires regenerate.) The foreskin is then processed, packaged, and sold as a high-end anti-aging cream.
Preacher stages these kinds of nasty setpieces with a joyfully mean-spirited inventiveness. A recent episode opens with a pitch-perfect ad for that Cassidy-foreskin cream, complete with fashion-shoot gowns and a cutesy tagline. Asked what the secret for young skin is, the model whispers, “I’ll never tell.” Cut to Cassidy screaming as a machine like a grocery meat cutter circumcises him over and over. (Yes, there’s a shot of the bloody bits getting bagged up.)
In the comic, Jesse is a fairly typical tough guy with a code; he’s a sympathetic cowboy hero. In the television show, though, he’s a religious megalomaniac who is convinced of his divine destiny. He’s also a jealous, controlling boyfriend. He’s not very sympathetic. And that means that the main focus of identification in the series shifts to Cass and Tulip, who ends up trying to come to Cassidy’s rescue as Jesse, characteristically, skips out to pursue his own quest.
Gilgun is wonderful as Cassidy. He doesn’t play the vampire as a lovable rogue, but as someone pretending to be a lovable rogue. His true self-periodically shows through, with flashes of sadness, confusion, and murderous self-loathing. But Negga really steals the series. Strong female characters are generally unflappable badasses. Alternately, they go the Buffy the Vampire Slayer route, showing their vulnerability by agonizing about whether their strength makes them abnormal or unfeminine.
Tulip is different, though. She loves to fight and break things. She’s confident in her ability to beat the tar out of any antagonist. But at the same time, she’s deeply insecure about her own judgment and lovability. Her uncertainty and self-mistrust are subtly tied to racism. Jesse’s family despised Tulip’s, and that rejection still rankles. Also, Tulip’s father was killed by the police. She’s the product of a society that has sent her the lifelong message that she’s no good and that all her projects and dreams will end in failure.
Tulip has internalized that message, and she could easily succumb to despair. Negga lets the audience see her thinking about it. When Jesse leaves her, she’s not angry at him (as she should be), but at herself for failing him. Her anger and sadness are turned inward; she thinks she’s gotten what she deserves. But her reaction to despair, inevitably, is to pick herself up and do whatever she thinks is right anyway. She may be useless and unlovable, but she can still love, and she can still be a hero.
Of course, her plans don’t work as they’re supposed to. Cassidy is also a messed-up mass of insecurity, and when Tulip tries to rescue him, he kneecaps every attempt. But that doesn’t mean Tulip’s goals are misguided or wrong. In season 3, God himself (wearing that dog costume) tells her she’s a fuck-up. She thinks about it for a moment and responds that he better get out of her face or she’ll kick his ass. It’s false bravado, perhaps, but God does look nervous. After all, the world is just absurd enough that maybe she could do it.
Preacher’s absurdity is deliberate and philosophical. Jesse, Tulip, and Cass fight and drink their way through a world that isn’t just indifferent, but actually malevolent. In season 4, God gratuitously arranges the unlikely death of everyone Jesse tries to help, including cute dogs and children. It’s funny the way Kafka is funny, albeit with more car chases and explosions. Like Sisyphus, the characters go on because they don’t have any choice, but also, perhaps, because they’ve decided that a stone isn’t going to beat them.
In the same way, Preacher the series has made it to a fourth and last season, even though no one seems to be watching it or writing much about it anymore. It’s unclear how the series will wrap, though it’s already obvious that the end will be significantly different from the comic’s conclusion. Will Tulip find happiness, hopefully with someone other than that asshole Jesse? Probably not; this is an unhappy, God-damned world, and it doesn’t hold out much hope or help for anyone. Few television shows acknowledge the bitter things in life with such imaginative humor, and few characters face this kind of cynicism with the two-fisted grace of Tulip O’Hare.

I really don't understand why the Spuffy **** scene even happened. I do agree that the writers had throughout season 6 been trying to get the viewers to realize Spike ultimately is soulless and evil but even after she ends their situationship they have cute bonding moments where that doesn't seem to be completely the case ("you glow" + Buffy being jealous Spike brought a date to the Xanya wedding) all the way up until Seeing Red and immediately after the ep he just takes off to go on the quest to have his soul restored and is instantly redeemed when he comes back bc he has a soul now. Like I'm high and tired so idk if I'm articulating this great but I honestly don't even get the point esp bc Spike's actor was vehemently against it and had to enroll in freaking therapy after shooting it. Like I don't feel like the story or the characters called for it at all and they do a terrible job of addressing it after it happens so just Why

TV Show Quiz
Pick 5 shows, then answer the following questions. Don’t cheat. Tag 10 (or however many) peeps.
Lost
The Sopranos
Buffy The Vampire Slayer
Trailer Park Boys
Good Omens
1. Who is your favorite character in 2?
Peter Paul ”Paulie Walnuts” Gualtieri.
2. Who is your least favorite character in 1?
Mr. Eko. The actor did NOT want to be a part of the show and asked to be written off almost immediately. It shows in his performance.
3. What is your favorite episode of 4?
Hm, that’s a tough one. The Conky episode is pretty hilarious.
4. What is your favorite season of 5?
Only one season... But my favorite episode is 3.
5. Who is your favorite couple in 3?
Willow and Tara.
6. Who is your favorite couple in 2?
Tony and Carmela.
7. What is your favorite episode of 1?
The Constant or Ab Aeterno.
8. What is your favorite episode of 5?
Already answered this, haha. Episode 3, specifically the first half.
9. What is your favorite season of 2?
Definitely season one. As the show progresses, they kill or write off many of their best characters (which was a huge fault with GoT as well).
10. How long have you watched 1?
Technically since it aired in 2004. But I think I rewatched it as an adult for the first time around 2014?
11. How did you become interested in 3?
Oh, now this is an interesting story. When I was a teenager, my mom had this best friend named Robyn. I used to tutor Robyn’s daughter once a week, so I hung out with this family very frequently. Robyn would play the show while I was over, and absolutely gushed to me about it. In particular, she was really excited about the show because one of her friends, this doctor that she and my mom both worked with, had recommended it to her. I found out later that Robyn and the doctor had been having an affair. Thanks Robyn.
12. Who is your favorite actor in 4?
Probably Rob Wells. He’s just so sincere in his portrayal, and takes things so far sometimes. He’s very dedicated to the character.
13. Which do you prefer, 1, 2, or 5?
The Sopranos. All time favorite baby.
14. Which show have you seen more episodes of, 1 or 3 ?
I’ve seen all of the episodes for both? But I’ve watched Lost 4-5 times, whereas I’ve only seen Buffy twice. So Lost.
15. If you could be anyone from 4, who would you be?
Julian. I think I have the most in common with him.
16. Would a crossover between 3 and 4 work?
Hahaha, not really.
17. Pair two characters in 1 who would make an unlikely but strangely okay couple.
Cassidy/Kate or Desmond/Daniel.
18. Overall, which show has the better storyline, 3 or 5?
Good Omens. It’s more succinct, for one.
19. Which has the better theme music, 2 or 4?
The Sopranos for sure. I’ve listened to that intro song hundreds of times and still love it.
Tagging: @blenderface @little-murmaider @littlebooshmaid @ladadee195 and anyone else who might want to! I certainly didn’t get tagged, I just stole this lol

We Photoshopped an alternate cast of Avengers who almost got the roles
Tumblr media
Avengers stans know the end is near, which means it's time to go back to the beginning. The very beginning.
In honor of the highly anticipated film, Avengers: Endgame, Marvel fans are reminiscing over just how much our heroes have grown since their first appearances on-screen. But we want to take you back even further that that — to the casting decisions.
We've come to know and love characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe so deeply that they feel almost irreplaceable. Chris Evans is Captain America, Chris Hemsworth perfectly embodies Thor, and Scarlett Johansson brings Black Widow to life. But the MCU group could have looked totally different today if casting directors had decided to go with some of the other talented actors who were up for the roles.

Here's a wild glimpse at what our Marvel Cinematic Universe could have looked like, had 12 crucial casting choices been different.
John Krasinski as Captain America / Steve Rogers
Tumblr media

Since the 2011 film Captain America: The First Avenger, the adorably charming Chris Evans and his beard have truly mastered the role of Cap. But the patriotic, shield-wielding hero could have been played by my ultimate crush, John Krasinski.
In 2016, The Office star told Conan O'Brien he auditioned to play Steve Rogers back in the day. He even tried on the freaking suit, but ultimately took himself out of the running after seeing a jacked Chris Hemsworth walk by and losing confidence. Since 2011, Krasinski's bulked up for roles in 13 Hours and Jack Ryan. He also grew a great beard, so we have no doubt he could have played a buff, bearded, and perhaps funnier, MCU hero.
Other rumored names considered for Cap include Friday Night Lights star Scott Porter, Gossip Girl's Chace Crawford, Magic Mike's Channing Tatum, Garrett Hedlund, Michael Cassidy, and Wilson Bethel. Even Sebastian Stan, who was eventually cast as Bucky Barnes, tried out for the part.
Tom Hiddleston as Thor
Tumblr media
"Hey can someone help me with this hammer?" - This Thor, probably
Image: Mashable composite; Marvel Studios, Karwai Tang/WireImage
Chris Hemsworth has a build, a voice, and a gorgeous head of hair that all scream "Thor." And yet, some other people still had the audacity to try out for the role.
One of the most surprising was Tom Hiddleston, who I simply can't picture as our king of Asgard and God of Thunder. Hiddleston was instead cast as Thor's brother, Loki, which suits him marvelously. But let us take a moment to imagine what he would have looked like as the mighty hero.
Other actors almost worthy of holding Thor's hammer were Alexander Skarsgård, Charlie Hunnam, and Joel Kinnaman. Not to mention, Hemsworth's very own brother, Liam, auditioned to play Thor, which, I will admit would have been pretty interesting.
Emily Blunt as Black Widow / Natasha Romanoff
Tumblr media

Scarlett Johansson plays the character Natasha Romanoff remarkably, but it turns out Emily Blunt was the original choice for the role of Black Widow in Iron Man 2.
Sadly, Blunt was under a contractual obligation with 20th Century Fox to star in the movie Gulliver’s Travels, so she couldn't sign on to the Marvel film at the time. And though Buffy the Vampire Slayer's Eliza Dushku also showed a serious interest in the part, Johansson ultimately stepped in.

A (super) power couple.

Rather than starring alongside each other in Marvel films, Blunt and Krasinski went on to co-star in Krasinski's hit horror film, A Quiet Place, so everything worked out. Even so, our trusty Senior Illustrator, Bob, created this couple composite to emotionally torture me and also give you all a look at what could have been.
David Duchovny as Hulk / Bruce Banner
Tumblr media
"The truth is out there."

Fans may recall Edward Norton played Bruce Banner in the 2008 film The Incredible Hulk, but he wasn't Marvel's final pick for the Avengers films. A lot of drama surrounding Norton's relationship with Incredible Hulk director Louis Leterrier and his negotiations with Marvel were reported, but Mark Ruffalo was ultimately signed.
Since we already know what Norton looks like as The Hulk, we decided to Photoshop David Duchovny, who was also rumored for the role at one point in time.
Timothée Chalamet as Spider-Man / Peter Parker
Tumblr media
Oh will wonders ever cease?

Forget Tobey Maguire, Tom Holland is our Spider-Man now and we adore him. But Spider-Man also could have been played by Call Me By Your Name cutie Timothée Chalamet, who auditioned for the part along with others like Josh Hutcherson, Nat Wolff, Liam James, and Asa Butterfield.
My initial thought was that Chalamet wouldn't be dorky enough to play Spider-Man, but now WHO KNOWS, because he really pulls off the suit.
Zachary Levi as Star-Lord / Peter Quill
Tumblr media
"Forget Fandral, I'm Star-Lord now." — Zachary Levi in a spaceship

We know Chris Pratt completes the MCU Chris Trinity as Star-Lord, but Chuck and Marvelous Mrs. Maisel star Zachary Levi was interested in the role back in the day, and honestly? He might've been great.
Actors like Jim Sturgess, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Lee Pace, Joel Edgerton, Jack Huston, and even Eddie Redmayne were also associated with the role early on, but Pratt joined the Guardians of the Galaxy family, while Levi went on to star in Shazam! and play Fandral in Thor: The Dark World and Thor: Ragnarok.
Olivia Wilde as Gamora
Tumblr media
It ain't easy being green.

We all know Gamora as the brilliant Zoe Saldana, who memorably stood up to her adopted father, Thanos, in Avengers: Infinity War. However, the green Guardians of the Galaxy character was reportedly offered to House star Olivia Wilde.
Nicolas Cage as Iron Man / Tony Stark
Tumblr media

Since Robert Downey Jr. played Tony Stark in the 2008 film Iron Man, we couldn't envision anyone else in the maroon and gold suit. Perhaps least of all, Nicolas Cage. And yet, he was one of the names rumored to be in the running.
Sam Rockwell and Tom Cruise were also on the list, but, I mean, we really had no choice but to Photoshop Cage.
Saoirse Ronan as Scarlet Witch / Wanda Maximoff
Tumblr media

If Elizabeth Olsen hadn't been cast as Scarlet Witch we might have seen Lady Bird star Saoirse Ronan join the MCU family... maybe.
Rumor has it that Joss Whedon had Ronan in mind when scripting Avengers: Age of Ultron, and the young star appeared to show interest in a role, saying, "I love Joss and I love those films, and I love his handle on them and how he portrayed these kinds of superheroes. So yeah, I’d love to be in it."
Later, Ronan reportedly passed on the film, which is when Marvel decided to cast Olsen.
Morris Chestnut as Black Panther / T'Challa
Tumblr media
Could've been king.

Chadwick Boseman absolutely slayed as T'Challa in Marvel's hit film Black Panther, and we can imagine no one better suited to rule as king of Wakanda. But in the name of Photoshop, here is Black Panther reimagined as Morris Chestnut, since he was among the names associated with the role.
Josh Hartnett as Loki
Tumblr media
Whatever.
Image: Mashable composite; Marvel Studios, Charley Gallay/Getty Images
Tom Hiddleston, who thankfully was not cast as Thor, was cast as Loki. But if Hiddleston didn't snag the role, it seems Josh Hartnett could have stepped up and took the villain's greasy black wig for a spin. Hmm...
Joaquin Phoenix as Doctor Strange
Tumblr media
Why so serious?
Image: Mashable composite; Marvel Studios, Isiah Trickey/FilmMagic
Benedict Cumberbatch has nailed the art of portraying strange on-screen, so it's no surprise he shines as Marvel's Doctor Strange. But the casting list for Stephen Strange was ridiculously stacked.
Joaquin Phoenix was one of the top contenders for the part, but explained in an interview with Little White Lies that he felt he made the right move in turning it down, explaining, "I think everybody was really happy with how things turned out. All parties were satisfied."
In addition to Phoenix, Jared Leto, Ewan McGregor, Oscar Isaac, Matthew McConaughey, Ethan Hawke, and Jake Gyllenhaal were also reportedly considered.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Ant Man / Scott Lang
Tumblr media
Honey, I shrunk the JGL.

Finally, there's Ant Man. We know the shrinking superhero as the ageless Paul Rudd, but word has it that Joseph Gordon-Levitt was a front-runner for the part, too. If we're judging by our Photoshop, then JGL looks hilarious in the Ant Man suit. But who knows, maybe he could've been great.
It's fun to look back at this hilariously random group of superheroes who we could've been watching on the screen for the past decade, but really makes us appreciate the team of Avengers we ended up with.

Buffy: Okay, we all have our places. We do the chant and light the candle at midnight exactly. Any questions? Cordelia: Yeah, what if this mangled triangle thingy doesn't work? Willow: Oh! I almost forgot. I made us all scapulas. Xander: Okay, so we can flip the ghost over when it turns a nice golden brown?
