Season premieres & finales, trying to remember what happened when

season 1: he met beckett

he said "I looked at your mom's murder"" & she kicked him out

Season 2: he came back for a photoshoot & the reporter said "ooh I want to see the two of you in action" but I think this one is the one where the body got stolen.

he left for the summer with Gina

Season 3: his artist was murdered when he got home from his book tour. he started investigating on his own so they arrested him for murder lol.

Monty got shot, beckett did too & was on disability for three months. Castle says he loves her.

season 4: Gates shows up. First homicide back is some gal who got shot in the chest ("good thing beckett sat this one out") & hastings had a line with a front shot on her. they are simultaneously investigating becketts shooting. also the guy's name is rod haelstead which is very similar to a famous Métis fiddler rod olstad.

Monty's place had a breakin & evelyn shot someone with his old gun. Files were stolen. the dead guy who stole files was in contact with an old friend from the military who got him into this crap. Smith calls again, as he does. Castle needs to stop becks from looking into this case. He fails, she's hanging off a roof, all she can think of is castle. Ryan saves them by telling gates their secret & especkett get suspended & they are mad at ryan. Beckett resigns & goes to sleep with castle. No time passes but she does get a suspension in 5x1 which was the hiatus.

Season 5: Smith got beat up by maddoox. Ryan shows up at beckett's apartment bc he is working without a team. Esposito gets his army friend to find maddox. Caskett find smith all beat up & go to his property where esposito also happens to show up. The file goes kablooey & the cops are like "caspeckett why r u here?" Ryan shows up at beckett;s apartment again & gets two guns pulled on him lmao. they do a puzzle & somehow the file got blown up into pieces but not blown up into ash... anyway they find out it's bracken. Smith "dies". Beckett is not an assassin. Beckett wants her job back & gates is like "smh" but she lets beckett back. Well. After her suspension which is why I consider 5x1 to be more like 4x23b.

She gets a job at the AG's office bc of some anti surveillance tech guy who I really appreciated. Castle is like "what about me" but then proposes.

Season 6: she is working at the AG's & engaged to castle. Castle is no longer working with the nypd. Alexis introduces Pi too.

He has resurrected Derek Storm. Beckett turns out to be married. Castle got into a car crash & disappeared. Beckett is back at the nypd btw. She is the new roy montgomery, always quitting her job & coming back.

Season 7: they pick up at the end of the last season but Castle is missing for 2 months after that. Then they find him. Yay. He has no memories. (He should keep it that way.)

castle also becomes a pi in this season.

Castle's childhood trauma comes back to haunt him. Beckett is trying to be Captain or Senator. Castle gets an award & all the people are there which is nice.

Season 8: Beckett has become captain but then gets a call from the AG's office from some poor nerdy kid. Bracken, who is in jail now, still has a plot going on. Sullivan does not return (he was beckett's replacement when she was in the AG's). Hayley Shipton is introduced. She takes a break from her relationship with Castle & he is no longer working at the precinct but he keeps coming back anyway.

Idk how it ends. Don't tell me.

SPOILERS FOR ST5 FILMING THIS WEEK+ A THEORY

Okay, I’m going to try and break down all the filming leaks we got this week and put them together into a theory.

In case you don’t know yet, ST’s production has moved back to Stone Mountain, GA this week. This is a woodsy area that’s been used before in the show to film all the UD forest scenes as well as just the regular forest scenes in the show.

On Monday of this week, someone who lives close to the area came upon a set. And it was the Castle Byers pictures we got. I’ll add them here too.

Some observations. To me this version of castle Byers doesn’t look like the original one we first saw. That one was much fuller and looked more stable. It also doesn’t look like the version Will left behind after destroying it in S3. We know the UD is stuck on the time Will was there, so imo the version of castle Byers we are seeing here is the one that was damaged by the demogorgon when it grabbed Will, back in S1.

Based on this pic and a little video of the set, we all speculated they could be filming something related to Will, perhaps even a flashback. Here’s where it gets interesting.

I was looking at the castingtaylormade insta page (they post all the casting for extras and photo doubles needed for the show) and I came across this.

Production was looking for a minor photo double and “adult” one to work on the 20th (aka Tuesday of this week) as well as some other dates in February and March.

Now, we know they were filming at the castle Byers set the same day that this minor photo double was needed. I don’t think I need to spell it out here. They were looking for a child, so younger Will scenes are basically a guarantee to have been filmed this week. As for the adult photo double filming the same date, well there’s quite a few options. If it’s a little Will flashback/vision we’re gonna see, perhaps the adult photo double is gonna be older Will himself. Maybe we’ll get current Will having visions of his younger self and his time in the UD, and we’ll see both versions of him. Let’s not forget he was able to shift to the UD in S2 without physically being there.

Another option for the adult photo double could be Vecna. Will and Vecna are bound to share scenes this season, so perhaps we’ll see whether Vecna was involved from the get go in Will’s disappearance.

Now it gets even more interesting, because today we got new pics of the “UD” set from this week. There’s a lot of fog, and a very poignant blue and red lighting mix.

We know the UD usually has a blue tint, but there’s been instances where it has looked red, especially in S4. However, the most red we’ve ever seen in the UD was when Will was having his S2 visions of the MF, remember how he would appear in a cloud of hellish red and lights would flash? Yeah. Another big use of red in this show has been for visions, like Will’s UD ones but also El in Billy’s mind in S3. And ofc more notably Max’s Vecna vision in S4.

I want to specifically focus on one picture.

As you can see, there appears to be a figure walking along the tree path, with perhaps a taller figure on the left but that is hard to tell because it could just be part of the tree. Stranger Things Spoilers was the account that got these set photos and look at the comment they just liked on Insta.

I think it’s safe to say they’re hinting that the figure walking is Will.

Which basically ties this whole week of filming together and seems to be pointing at the fact that Will is gonna be exploring his UD connection and that’s a major component of this season (duh).

I personally think we’re gonna see Will have visions of his time there as a child, but also he will be able to go there mentally like he did in S2, perhaps this time being taunted and brainwashed by Vecna. “He spies back”.

So there you go folks, it seems like our beloved Will Byers is gonna be greatly suffering from supernatural horrors beyond our comprehension, once again.

I wonder what will be able to pull him back from all this mental deterioration he’s surely gonna face again.

Could it be the power of family love and perhaps…gay love?

The Duffers did say to rewatch S2 🤷‍♀️

Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About The Crow Road, But Couldn't Get Through it To Find Out

WARNING: SPOILERS EVERYWHERE!!

Overall Premise: Books are clearly important to Good Omens and Neil & team have left us Clues. In S2E2, the xray trivia highlights a list of books they would like the audience to read. But even more specifically, there are names of certain books on the back of the chairs in the theater in the opening credits. Those books are: The Tale of Two Cities, Pride & Prejudice, and The Crow Road - twice!

What might this mean? One theory is that the chairs represent the seasons. The body swap in S1 is similar to how Carton, in Tale of Two Cities, takes his doppleganger's place in jail, sacrificing his life so Darnay could go free and be with his family. Pride & Prejudice is clearly referenced in S2, with Crowley's proposal as a sort of mirror to Darcy's first proposal. (There's probably a whole lot more to unpack there - and if you like Austen, here are some thoughts about Aziraphale's favorite book, Persuasion, and how it may relate to the characters.)

BACK to The Crow Road. The title is shown on two chairs in the opening sequence, suggesting that it is related to both S2 and S3. Furthermore, we see the book multiple times in the show and it's the book Muriel reads at the end. As an aside, Neil Gaiman and Iain Banks were very good friends. Iain Banks died over a decade ago, so it is also likely a bit of a tribute to his friend.

So let's dig in and see why perhaps Neil keeps holding this book up and shouting Clue!

Side note: The book is long and most of the action happens in the final third, which can make it a hard read for folks. There's also a lot of characters and it can be tricky to remember how they are all related. There is a family tree BUT it has spoilers.

The Name: The Crow Road is a phrase used by the grandmother to indicate someone has died, ie - he's gone the crow road.

The Plot: This is the story of Prentice growing up with his immediate and extended family in Scotland. His Uncle Rory disappears in his early childhood. Some family members choose to believe Rory is still alive. After a hook-up with his Uncle Rory's former girlfriend as a young adult, Prentice starts gathering journals and writings from his missing Uncle Rory, who was (for a few years) a successful writer and traveler. Prentice eventually learns that 1) another Uncle, Fergus, had murdered his own wife and covered it up as a car accident and 2) Rory had figured this out and confronted him. Fergus then murdered Rory, hid all the evidence, and hired an acquaintance (who also traveled) to send matchboxes from bars across the world to Prentice's father, Kenneth. Kenneth, believed - as Fergus intended - that these were messages from Rory, indicating he was still alive. 

Stylistically, Prentice's childhood memories and fragments from Rory's journals are interspersed throughout the book, much like the minisodes are in S2. It can take the reader a while to figure out who is telling the story or where this information is coming from. It is also unclear how reliable Rory is as narrator - perhaps this also plays into S2.

What it Might Mean: 

Fergus could represent the Metatron. He is very powerful, rich, and conservative; he lives in a castle (Heaven?) and wants authority. Fergus also murders two relatives and hides those murders; the murder of his wife may have been inspired by jealousy over her sleeping with another man, an event which may or may not have happened.

Fergus also sets up fake messages!! The matchbooks are red herrings to make it look like Rory is still alive. As the Metatron relays messages from God, I can't get over the possibilities here. We have seen God speaking directly as recently as Job, but are the other messages real?

I can't help but wonder if the matchbooks and their use as messages inspired Neil to use the matchbook in S2. The matchbook in S2, incidentally, connects to all three minisodes - the quote from Job, 41:19 (reversed 1941), and the matchbox is from the Resurrectionists pub. So the matchbook contains not only Gabriel’s memories but refers to Azi’s as well?

Much of the book is about this missing uncle. Is a character (or their memory) missing in S3? I have theories, but its too soon to tell.

There's also an interesting theme of Prentice collecting his Uncle Rory's writings and records, including sending some corrupted computer discs to an expert in America to try to restore them. Given the emphasis on records ("It contains information in a tuneful way") and journals in S2, not to mention this trivia nugget ​​ - my brain is itching that there's a connection there.

Faith & Beliefs: The book talks about Faith a lot. Prentice believes in God and his father Kenneth doesn’t. And Kenneth doesn’t just reject religion, he wants his children to reject religion too. Prentice on the other hand desperately wants something to believe in - especially after a friend's death in an accident. This leads to a huge fall out - they end up not talking over it.

"'I mean, what's the big argument? Can't you just agree to disagree?' 'No; we disagree about that,' I shook my head. 'Seriously; it doesnt' work that way; neither of us can leave it alone. There's almost nothing either of us can say that can't be taken the wrong way, with a bit of imagination. It's like being married.'" (Ch 7)

Kennth seemingly taunts God - he climbs a church during a lightning storm and is struck dead. His uncle Hamish (one of Kenneth’s brothers) also represents the extreme version of Faith and ends up running a sort of cult, at least until Kenneth’s death.

What it Might Mean: The thread they pull through a lot is about meaning, and whether you can have meaning in life without God. Prentice gains Faith because his friend died senselessly; he wonders how can you have a world be so cruel. There must be a reason for it (this is sort of Az coded), and he turns to God to create the meaning for him. 

BUT Kenneth’s argument is that you don’t need Faith for the world to have meaning (or at least that is my reading). It is wonderful because it is inherently meaningless (this is very existentialist, but I do think that’s the point). That Faith doesn’t do that, and just means you are looking outwards without looking at what is right in front of you. Which again, could be a Crowley way of looking at it, or at least where he is headed. Life is good as life, and doesn’t need God to make it so. 

Hamish represents someone putting so much meaning into Faith that they lose all sense of Joy, he becomes distant.  (One of my favorite scenes is Hamish doing a jigsaw puzzle with the pieces upside down - and cutting the pieces with scissors if they don’t fit right!)

The Romantic Relationships: Prentice is infatuated with a cousin (second cousin?), Verity. She is described as beautiful, in white/light colors, pure, lives with Uncle Fergus in the castle. There are legends around her birth -  she was conceived under a tree during a storm. She is unattainable and eventually ends up with Prentice's older brother.

Ash, on the other hand, is almost literally the girl next door and Prentice’s long-term best friend. Her family is poorer and maybe has some domestic violence issues. She's always there for Prentice - literally a shoulder to cry on, sharing a bottle of whiskey, helping him sober up after said whiskey. There's obvious romantic tension from Ash’s side but she never pushes him and instead guides him along. And the book ends with a romantic resolution that feels very much like the final fifteen - except with a happier ending.

“- and I still didn’t feel I could tell her how I felt about her because she was going away now, and how could I suddenly say I love you when I’d never said it to anybody in my life before? How could I say it now especially, the night before she was due to leave? It would look like I was trying to make her stay, or just get her into bed. It would probably wreck this one precious evening that we did have, and upset her, confuse her, even hurt her, and I didn’t want to do any of that.” (Ch 13)

They finally kiss and spend the night together, both confessing their love. Ash has to leave the next morning to pursue a career opportunity in New York; Prentice is sad that she goes but re-dedicating himself to his studies and working towards a relationship together. 

What it Might Mean: To me, Verity is very Heaven-coded and Ash is very Hell-coded. A big part of Prentice's arc (Prentice may represent Azi here) is getting over his blind infatuation with Verity and realizing the value and love he has with Ash. However, they also need to be apart and grow a bit before they can be together.

Loved the Stranger Things Day. So many nice photos, and we even got the title of the first episode! But I’m fine. Not going crazy with theories or anything, lol

So.

What it probably means...

I love this title. It immediately gives you the sense of impending danger. A nice play on words to describe the spread of the Upside Down taking over Hawkins. Our heroes must do something, before it consumes everything.

But since we’re never normal about this show, theories are crawling, too. Everywhere. Everywhere...

A very normal and relaxed fan (Rae):

“And if I say this relates to both Steve’s “crawling forward” speech + Hawkins having a crawling infection + the team have to crawl/sneak around Hawkins, what then”

EDIT: Disaster spell caster tweeted this:

“The Stranger Things Wiki describes the tunnels as an organism itself that took the form of tunnels. What if the Crawl is Hawkins and the monsters are the tunnels themselves, coming alive again through the faults and helping spread the spores in the town?”

My take on this. It is also about Will’s role in stopping the “infection” once and for all at the end of the show. I say at the end, because the pen-holder was on the right side of the grid. Last episodes. Yep.

So. There could be new tunnels, of course, but there is only one person who can remember most of them. He even drew them, because they were Henry/Mind Flayer's now memories: Will. 

If you read my analysis of the show you know what I mean. But to sum up:

In 1x08, the campaign ended but Will, Lucas and Dustin thought that it didn’t make sense. There still were mysteries to solve. And Will said this: "What about the weird flowers in the cave?" 

A cave (tunnels). At the end of the story... 

Weird flowers - The Mind Flayer as a super organism, a sort of a giant plant-mushroon (the spores) that Henry is using to control the creatures of the UD and infect the world, like he did in S2 and S3.

Owens talking to Joyce about viruses that can be cured. And then telling El he thought she was the cure (but then she lost)

The Little Shop of Horrors (a movie about an alien sentient carnivorous plant) AND The Cure posters in Will's room in S4. 

Radagast as the password to enter Castle Byers in S1 as a hint that Will has Radagast’s power (the ability to communicate with animals and plants). 

Yes. Imo, Will is the cure to the UD “crawling infection”.

Sure, she was more than adept when it came to riding in heavy rain and brutal storms, and she’d claimed her mount in a storm two times worse than this, but it would have been much easier to follow her fleeing brother and the cruel bastard that chased him in clear skies. 

Then again, she wouldn’t have the advantage of an all black mount in the middle of the night if it were bright and sunny. 

She’d claimed Balerion as her own years ago, when she was nothing but a girl of one and ten; there was a storm raging worse than this one that night, and a kidnapping attempt had been made on her life that had led to her being miles away. She’d broken free from the grip of one of her captors and had begun running through the trees, eventually falling before the vast caves where he resided. Her sobbing had woken him, and he’d crept out behind her just in time to kill the men that planned to sell her as a silver-haired whore. She had no doubt that he intended to kill her too, but she’d at the time only seen him — soaked and freezing as she was — as a source of heat and had curled up close to him and fell into a fitful, sob-ridden sleep. This bizarrely gained his mercy, and two days later ( after much difficulty ) she rode back to the Red Keep on his own back through the storm that hadn’t let up since she disappeared, her fingers and feet pressed between ridges of battle hardened skin so she could hang on. Her mother and father both had nearly had twin heart attacks when the old dragon had landed before them, and both had wide eyes when Y/N carefully climbed down and ran to them. 

Her grandfather had tried claiming him many years ago, but the war dragon had never taken to him, and she’d only met the centuries-old beast once when she was only an infant before they’d claimed each other; Viserys had crept down beyond the walls of the castle to where Balerion chose to reside outside of the dragonpit, curious to see if any of the dragons there would take to her as no eggs were available for her at the time. Her mother had lost her mind when she’d found out, understandably, and that had been the last of her ventures outside of Rhaenyra’s line of sight until the woman was old enough to understand that Y/N could be left alone with the exception of armed guards. 

The rain beats against both Y/N’s face and Balerion’s back, and the black beast lows beneath her, urging more whispers for him to calm to tumble from his lips. Somewhere lost in the clouds and rain before them, Armond lets out a vicious cackle followed by a scream from Lucerys, and Y/N urges Balerion forward. “Naejot, Balerion — catch up to them for me!” The onyx dragon quickens his pace with one flap of his massive wings, and they move forward through the clouds faster than anyone else, on dragonback or not, could hope to avoid. Lightning flashes, shining a light beneath them that revealed Vhagar’s massive ( though nowhere near as large as Balerion ) form flying through the sky, rain-soaked white-blond hair whipping behind her rider as she sped beneath them. 

“There you are,” Y/N mutters, her eyes narrowing. She pushes back the fear she’d felt at the sound of her younger brother’s cry and tries to keep her heartbeat even as well as her emotions in check, knowing that Balerion would act on even the slightest annoyance she may have felt; war dragons like himself as well as Vhagar  were known for quick response time when it came to their riders, and after all these years with him Y/N often didn’t need to verbalize her intent on which way to turn or when to dive — he just knew. 

A deep snarl tumbles from Balerion’s scarred lips when he lays his own eyes on Vhagar and her rider, and Y/N hushes him gently. “Rȳbās, Balerion — dohaerās.” He grunts an answer to her, and then falls completely silent — nothing short of a black figure of pure death flying above her uncle and Vhagar, and both of whom were still unaware of their presence thanks to the imposing silence that came with Balerion when in flight. The old black war dragon was only loud midair if he chose to be, and under the cover of rain and darkness like tonight he had chosen stealth. 

The clouds drift away, and beneath them both Lucerys and Arrax are revealed to be only a small bit ahead of Vhagar, who snaps at Arrax’s tail midair and misses. Arrax, barely no more than a hatchling, fills with his own fear and that of Lucerys and breathes fire at her without being ordered to do so, earning a roar as the heat hits her eyes and nose. It does no damage and causes no pain, but the fact that the smaller dragon cast fire against her enrages the large dragon and she snaps at his tail again, this time catching it between her teeth and biting down viciously; this pulls a pained screech from the dragon and another fearful scream from Lucerys as she rips her head to the side and tears a massive part of the smaller dragon’s tail away, blood streaming through the air. 

Y/N’s eyes widen, and she sees the moment Aemond realizes this is no longer a game of scaring his nephew as blood falls to the water far below them all and Vhagar charges forward with the intent to kill that which attacked her first. “NO, VHAGAR, STOP — DOHAERĀS! DOHAERĀS, VHAGAR, SERVE ME!” Aemond screams, but he’s lost control of his own war machine, and Vhagar is no longer listening. Instead, she rushes forward, Lucerys and Arrax barely avoiding the next  bite that would have ended with Arrax in pieces and Lucerys sliding down her throat. Aemond continues screaming for her, his commands more like desperate pleading as his mount goes on the warpath. 

 Y/N’s eyes narrow and darken, and she grits her teeth as she growls for Balerion to hear only, “Hit them.”

WATCHING SONIC PRIME S3E1 SO SPOILERS AHEAD!

Nine is serving absolute Cassandra circa Tangled Season 3 vibes and I absolutely love it.

The music, his evil castle, the cinematography? Great!

Just on the whole the atmosphere in the first few minutes is amazing!

Dr Don't is - as always - a legend, an icon, the future, he serves, etc.

Nocturne ramblings, with spoilers

(This is NOT a rant post. Nor specifically a spoiler post. I'm just making observations and babbling shit about some of the characters in Nocturne thus far.)

I did a spoiler-free ramble post, now time for the other side of the coin, just to let loose a bit...

Vampires in general

I'm very happy to see some souped up vampires. Let's face it, the majority of them in the original animation weren't exactly impressive. They were basically people with pointy teeth and like 1 special ability. The fact that 2 1/2 humans could walk into a castle and just waste twenty or thirty of them without taking damage (other than Alucard taking a fist to the mug) felt a bit lackluster.

I said it before, but seriously, give a raise to whoever did his character design. He's absolutely delicious. Those cheekbones! The dragon's eyes! I want to roll myself in his hair like a bug in a rug then slap those meaty thighs...

I've also watched all his interactions with Mizrak again. I don't understand how the two of them make so much more sense (given that they literally went from "You know my name, tell me yours" to fucking to "I don't love you" to … maybe I do…), than like, canon pairing Richter and Annette, who feel about as compelling as a piece of dry toast.

I truly hope he continues playing a little on both sides of the fence. It makes him so much more interesting than the majority of the characters who are simply on one side or the other.

I admit I got all excited thinking he was Alucard in a glamour at first, because when you first see his eyes, there's a gold gleam (of course the second he touched the whip I went, "Ahh, it's Juste.")

I'm sure it's more that his eyes appear to be a very light gray and catch any candle/firelight, but I'd rather think that the animators were being cheeky and hiding a reference to the fact that when HoD came out, some fans were convinced Juste was Alucard's son.

Talking about who looks like who's offspring, uh… I almost question if Maxim was doing some sneaking. Doesn't Julia look more like Maxim?? Since they threw out Vampire Killer clause #1, why not throw out the rest of it?

Also… I honestly do feel badly for Juste. He's always been one of the forgotten Belmonts, but maybe he was better off forgotten as I think most headcanons imagined him living a quiet retirement with his wife and their husband, surrounded by a massive stockpile of overly gaudy home furnishings, with little grandson Richter visiting and getting lost in all the furniture : )

So I’m 3 hours into episode 17 of campaign 3 and, yall, what the ACTUAL FUCK (spoilers below for C1, Vox Machina cartoon and C3)

For the record, when I went into C3 and saw that Laudna would’ve been in her 50s/60s if she was still alive, my immediate thought was “huh, so she probably died right around the time the De Rolo’s were killed”. Especially since I knew that C3 Percy was in his 60s, and his family was killed when he was about 17/18, so the timeline lined up. Of course, that was me lowballing it, but that was the general timeframe I had in my head.

And then she mentioned specifically that Delilah killed her, and that she was some random farm girl, so nowhere NEAR the castle when the Briarwoods took over. I had my suspicions that, okay, MAYBE Laudna died closer to the Briarwoods Arc in C1, but I wasn’t sure

And then Laudna was telling Orym HOW she died and when. The MOMENT she said that the Briarwoods invited her for dinner and gave her a change of clothes, it clicked. Because that’s how it was in the fucking cartoon. And obviously, S1 of the cartoon came out while C2 was still going strong, so obviously Laudna isn’t technically in the cartoon, but STILL. Just KNOWING that she was one of the victims—most likely the one that represented Vex bc of the dark hair…I can never look at that scene the same way again. It was already dark beforehand, don’t get me wrong, but there’s a much darker air to it KNOWING who one of those victims were.

And it makes so much more sense why she didn’t know that there were still living members of the De Rolo family, or that Whitestone was doing better after the Briarwoods were killed. She died, what, a few days before the city knew that Percy and Cassandra still lived.

Like, I knew that C1 and C3 were HEAVILY intertwined, but fuck. I knew that C3 was dark, but holy fuck. We’re not even at episode 20 yet, yall, what the FUCK.

The Mandalorian spoilers: Are the Children of the Watch a cult?

Ok, on one level, perhaps not. Bo Katan was flat out told she could leave any time she liked; Din acknowledged in S1 he could take off the mask and live a normal life and they’d never come after him. He just couldn’t be a Mandalorian anymore.

However.

Bo literally has nothing but a lonely, empty castle to go back to. I think they know that. Of course, she’ll stay.

Din just doesn’t know anything else. Other than these people saved him from certain death as a child and fed and clothed him and were kind. It’s why he wants to get back in, even though him and Grogu have far better options. (As is made clear: Din could easily get a cushy, well- paid job as a Marshall on a relatively peaceful planet.)

Is this emotional manipulation? Convincing them they have choices when they honestly don’t?

I had the idea for this one already when I rewatched s1 earlier this year. Now I finally put myself together and wrote it. There will be another ff explaining the exact situation. As one can read in this version, it wasn't the Trix betraying him in the first place. It was Riven telling Icy that their plans would fail. And Icy is not the kind of girl who takes criticism easily. So she was: "Bye Riven, go to the dungeons and die there please" :)

A season 2 plot idea I had in mind

While looking for a way to close the rift, the dream chasers find a hidden scroll in castle nocturnia that talked about Lunia and her allies 500 years ago.

According to the scroll, every 500 years it is fated that there is a rift made between the waking world and dream world, and a dreamkeeper needs to gather along 4 allies and close the rift.

Each ally,along side their dream crafting powers, has a specific role with its own powers that will aid them in battle.

The first role is the soul. The soul is connected to dreamers and dream creatures, being able to create dream creatures and aid people.

The second role is the gear. The gear is connected to the dream realm itself and can use its resources to create weapons, vehicles etc.

The third role is the clock. The clock can manipulate time, rewind and create time loops.

The fourth role is the mind. The minds powers consist of mind control, telekinesis and telepathy. People whose role is the mind are usually very low imaginative.

Each role can take advantage of their allies powers because they mostly operate on cooperation. For example: if a person whose role is the gear is next to a person whose role is the mind, the gear can use the others telekinesis so it's easier to combine while the mind can use the others connection with the dream world to have knowledge of where exactly they are.

The dream chasers come to the conclusion that Mateo must train to become a dream keeper and the others must train for their respective roles with: Izzie as the soul, Cooper as the gear, Zoey as the clock and Logan as the mind.

The plot itself is also a huge journey filled with both dream world and waking world shenanigans, as Nova and the insomniacs are closer and closer to finding out about the dream worlds secrets aswell.

In the Byers' house there's a little detail, a turtle and a red flower, that might be a big reference to those stories, and a huge hint at Twelvegate and Will's creation powers.

In The Dark Tower series the Rose symbolizes the Tower and a higher being. The Tower holds the multiverse together and protects it. In fact, in the darkness there are primordial, god-like monsters which will destroy everything, should the the Tower fall. But there are also benevolent god-like beings who protect the Tower and the multiverse. One of the most powerful is Maturin.

Maturin the Turtle A kind, wise, and compassionate cosmic being with god-like powers. He is said to be constantly withdrawn into his shell, but one of the occasions that he did come out of it was when he had a stomachache which caused him to vomit out the mainstream universe, (something that occured as he was belching up some sort of "egg") after which he promptly retreated back into his shell. He's one of the twelve Guardians of the six Beams that hold up the Dark Tower and ensure the survival of existence as a whole. He is light and kindness, and its nemesis is IT (Pennywise) who takes the shape of a clown and a giant spider. In the novel IT the member of the Losers Club who speaks to Maturin is Bill (William) Denbrough.

The parallels with Will are incredible! But there are two guardians for each Beam. In Stranger Things, two keys, Will and Eleven.

Maturin vomited the universe. IT laid eggs. In Vecna's mindspace there are eggs and little spiders. Will throws up Dart.

And near Castle Byers Hopper and Joyce find a egg, that is also a reference to Alien. Will's character has many feminine traits and is the one associated with birth and creation.

Nancy in S4: It's like the Christmas lights. When Will was in the UD lights came to life. Steve, in 3x01, when the gate opens: Let there be light.

But Vecna/One is using him, he wants to corrupt him. And I think that Henry was kinda like Will, and he was the first one who was corrupted (by R. Brenner and the particles?)

Will is Bastian, the artist who creates and build things. He built Castle Byers with Jon just the way he drew it. This is the first time someone mentions building something in the show, before the Mind Flayer tells Billy (William) that he wants him to build what he sees, and One asks El to help him re-shape the world. It's interesting that she refuses and also destroys Twelve's tower (I'll make a post about that too)

Speaking of Twelve. Maturin is one of the twelve guardians of the Beams that hold up the Dark Tower, and Will has been associated with the number 12 many times since S1. So, Twelve represents him. And we see him build a tower.

They focus on the tower because it's important, a hint at Will's powers. In the poster in his room there's a red building.

Maturin is a protector, but tends to withdrawn into his shell. Will is kind and quiet. Always quiet, Lucas says.

But he's Will the Wise, a Cleric, a healer (the poster of The Cure) In his very first scene Dustin tells him to cast protection, and in S2 he tells the others how they can defeat the Mind Flayer.

The UD is "stuck" on the day he went missing, his name is on the grandfather clock, and he was given the Forever Clock. So he is connected to time itself. And (SPOILERS ON THE DARK TOWER) in that series there's a multiverse and a time loop. So maybe ST is about many timelines in a time loop?

IT, Maturin's nemesis, can take the shape of a giant spider and represents chaos, destruction and darkness.

Will's enemy is the Mind Flayer/Vecna, a man (or two?) who merged with a cosmic being and wants to destroy the world.

But maybe there's also another parallel with The Dark Tower. The red storm of the Mind Flayer and the red tower that Twelve builds remind me of the Crimson King.

This is so epic!

I know this post is long, but there's another thing. I think it's interesting that the two scenes in the show where we see the I forgot your birthday card are the one in 2x04, when Will is possessed by Vecna/Mind Flayer, and the one in 1x02, when Will is in the UD and we see the turtle, and the light gets very bright, just like when Vecna uses his powers.

For the Bad Batch Ask Game: 1, 14, 28!

Hi Ash! Thanks for the ask! I answered number one here - as a Wrecker girlie (gn), I would marry Echo if Wrecker were off the table.

14. When you first entered the fandom, who did you think was gonna be your main man? (and were you correct?)

I fell in love with Wrecker as soon as he charged off the Marauder in TCW S7, and he's still my main man! What was a surprise to me was how much my opinion of Crosshair changed over the series - which is, I think, the point. I really didn't care for him in TCW, and of course he was set up as the primary antagonist of TBB S1. But "The Solitary Clone" episode made me re-evaluate. Also I have a pathological need to take care of people, and my love language is feeding people, so the minute Rampart interrupted his lunch, I was all aboard the "Give Crosshair a Nap and a Snack" train.

Season 2 spoilers/Season 3 speculation below the cut, just in case anyone reading hasn't finished it yet.

28. Tell me a random headcanon you have about Wrecker

I think at this point it's pretty well accepted in the fandom that Wrecker is smart AF (man literally built a cannon out of scraps while being shot at), but I have a very specific headcanon about why he acts less intelligent than he is, and it's based on my own sibling interactions. We've seen how important it is to Tech to be seen as The Smart One™, and Wrecker, being the emotionally intelligent king that he is, is happy to take a back seat in that area to let his brother shine. It frees Wrecker up to focus on his own thing, which includes just being chill and having a good time, and it makes Tech happy.

If Tech is indeed dead (and I waffle on whether I think he is truly gone or not), I think this is going to present an opportunity for some really interesting character development for Wrecker in Season 3. We saw at the beginning of Season 2 how much Hunter struggled without Tech when he and Wrecker were trying to escape Castle Serenno, and that was just one mission. The Batch really lean on each other's strengths, and when someone is missing (like Echo post-S2 E8), they feel that loss keenly; not just in an emotional sense, but also in their effectiveness as a team. Wrecker is going to have to step up in a major way without Tech there to do the braining.

I do feel like Wrecker's character development has been subtle and mostly in the background up to this point, and I'm really hoping that he'll get his moment to shine in the final season - though given what the show did to Tech, I would be kriffing terrified if he started getting a lot of character development out of nowhere.
