SDAU-My Best Friend's Brother, Chapter 2

“No fucking way!” Ransom wrapped his arms around Charles, accepting the Sigma into the party, “What the hell are you doing here, Blackwood?  You never show up when we invite you to the party!  I can’t believe that those pushy sigmas let you out of the house to come play with the big boys!”

“Charles!”

Ransom’s brow raised when Loki met them at the door, his arms wrapping around the human.  Charles hugged Loki, and when he backed up, Loki pulled him in for an excited kiss.  The sophomore smiled, pulling Loki back against his chest.

“So that’s a thing…” Ransom smirked, pointing at the freshman and the sophomore, “you wrecking my pledge’s ass for fun or for sport there, Blackwood?”

“Loki is my mate!” Charles proclaimed, giving Ransom and the other freshman who was at the door a confident look.  The freshman gave him a pained one in return and turned his attention back to his job, opening the door for the next set of people arriving for the party. Charles frowned, his immediate thought that the freshman he’d recognized as one of the new football players didn’t accept his sexuality.

“Don’t worry about Buck…he’s going through a pretty rough break-up…his boyfriend was…well is one of your pledges…Steve…he’s an omega lion,” Loki offered, pulling him more into the place, “so it’s not what you think.  Come on, let me get you a drink, Charles.”

“So…when did this happen?” Ransom asked, following closely behind the two men, his own curious nature and want to stir the pot coming forward. 

“We uh-“

“We’ve been dating since the first week of practice!” Charles answered, cutting Loki off.  Loki stopped, and turned around to face him, a look of happiness on his face.  Charles could vaguely hear the rumble in his chest, but could feel it assuredly vibrating up his arm, “D-did I say something wrong, Loki?”

“Y-you want to be dating me?”

“Yeah…”

“You two are cute,” Ransom teased, gently pushing the two men, “don’t go breaking my fellow pledge brother…but you…Laufeyson, break him so I can pitch our first game.  That’s an order, pledge.”

Both men laughed at how Ransom was teasing them, before he parted from them. 

“I’m sorry about Ransom…he-he’s different outside of the team…as you can see,”Loki apologized, pulling his boyfriend into the kitchen where the drinks were, “and I’m sorry about not calling you my boyfriend…I just…we haven’t talked about it and I know you wanted to take things slow.  Sometimes us shifters can go too fast into a relationship, since we can tell who our mates are, and I didn’t want to scare you off.”

“Yeah…about that,” Charles smiled, a blush rising to his cheeks about the thought of what he wanted to do with his boyfriend, “do-do you think that maybe we can go to your dorm?  Like cut out a little bit earlier?  Or do you have to stay for the whole party?”

“I-is everything okay?” he asked nervously. 

“Yeah…I-I just want to try something…”

Loki smiled, his arm wrapping around Charles’ waist.  Every time that Charles had said that he ‘wanted to try something,’ it usually ended in Charles spending the night and both men pleasuring each other until the early hours of the morning, “we can do whatever you want, mate.”

Loki lay pinned to his bed, his boyfriend above him, thrusting deep into his ass.  His eyes rolled back into his skull as his thrusts were met in perfect timing with the hand that Charles had snaked around his waist to pump Loki.  With every firm stroke, Charles’ cock hit his prostate, sending the wolf into yet another dizzying tightrope walk between staying coherent and a string of orgasms he’d been fighting off.

“Y-you told your best friend about us?” Loki’s voice nearly betrayed him.  He knew that Charles was his brother’s best friend.  And he wanted to find a way to tell him, but he just couldn’t muster the strength of it.  He didn’t want to put Charles in a bind.  His hand reached out to him, and Charles smiled softly at him, “you told Tom?”

Charles bit his lip, “I-I didn’t…he knows I’m in a relationship though.  He-“

“Thinks I’m some girl, doesn’t he?”

“I’m telling him I’m gay in the morning…I-I don’t want our relationship to be a secret anymore,” Charles replied, cradling his boyfriend’s face.  He-he’s graduating and all, but I still want him to know you. You’re my everything, Loki.”

“T-there’s something I need to tell you, Charles,” he sighed, “an-and I think maybe I should have told you before I let you mark me…but-“

“Nothing could change how I feel about you, Loki,” Charles said sweetly as he stroked his boyfriend’s cheek, “I love you.”

“Then it’s settled…” Charles smiled, “tomorrow, I’ll tell Tom about how I’m gay…and then I’ll introduce the two of you…or rather, let the little family reunion happen…and then next year, I’ll be a junior and you’ll be a sophomore…we’ll live in our frat houses, but we could start talking about the next steps…of our relationship…”

“Okay…” Loki agreed, kissing Charles once more, “okay, my sweet mate.”

“What-what are you trying to say, Charles?”

“I’m gay!” he proclaimed to his best friend, finally happy to get it off his chest, “my relationship is with a man, not a woman.  And his name i-”

“Charles, you’re not gay!”

“I’ve been dating him for months!” Charles said simply, “I-I marked him last night.  It’s official.  Now he wants to wai-“

“You marked him?”

Charles nodded, “Yes…because I love him, and he’s my mate, Tom.”

Charles felt his heart breaking as he looked at his mate, “my sweet wolf.”

“I ran to the States because of the opportunity with this college,” he said firmly, “I did work study here all last year while I finished my senior year, and my brother sponsored me I didn’t see him though…not once.  Met a boy, and fell in love for the first time ever…I-I tried to take him back home to meet my mom…to tell her that I was a proud gay man…and that I didn’t need her…my brother rejected me when I came out to him…didn’t seem to blink when I told him that mother hurt me…so I told him that when I told mother, she had a heart attack…and I left her to die to meet him at the pub…his world looked like it ended.  He ran to her, and left me, sitting in the dust…”

Charles stared at the man that he loved, unsure of what to say.  He squeezed his hand, reminding him that he was there for him, and Loki gave him a small smile, “I guess what I’m trying to say is that even if he doesn’t…come around, you know…you’ll always have me.  And we shouldn’t be ashamed of our love.”

“Loki?”

“Yes, Charles?”

Charles leaned over and gently began wiping away his mate’s tears, “this summer…I-I want us to complete our mating ceremony…and I-I want us to get married…”

“Charles…you don’t have to rush-“

“It’s not rushing it,” he assured his mate, “I don’t want to be ashamed of our love either.  I want you to be my husband, Loki.”

In a very traditional society that is oppressive to both Alphas and Omegas (though arguably more so), Alpha Loki is a dream of an Alpha. His only downside? He still isn’t mated, and the pressure is growing for him to settle down and show up to royal events with an Omega wife.

The issue? Loki is “gay” - as in, he is only attracted to Alphas. This is a big no-no, especially for a man of his standing, an offense so grave it often leads to life-long prison sentences. With his family becoming more and more nosy about Loki’s love life, he and his longterm boyfriend decided that the best way to protect themselves would be for Loki to find an Omega the traditional way, mate them, and hide in plain sight, with a pretty piece of arm candy to parade around.

Of all the people he had expected to show up to one of his parties, Loki had definitely ranked far down the list – though in retrospect, he should’ve given the man more credit. In the limited communication they’d had during the Battle of New York, as well as the man’s reputation, it stood to reason that he’d find himself gravitating towards the only place in the city that seemed to be making lemonade out of the lemons they’d been provided with. A few gasps moved through the crowd, whispers of recognition, but Tony crossed the crowd with little issues to land right in front of Loki, a smirk growing on his face.

How the TVA classifies the Doomsdays

I go on a tangent about the weirdest of details i swear on god-

Okay. Let’s talk about how the TVA classifies the apocalypses, because it made me Think A Lot and sent me into analysis mode in 0.5 seconds.

We only get to see two documents about Doomsdays in Episode 2. The one from Asgard, the Ragnarok, and the one from Roxxcart, the Alabama storm.

The first one, Ragnarok, is a Class Seven Apocalypse, labeled Total Planetary Destruction.

Then Loki figures out the first thing. The Loki Variant was using Apocalypses to hide their temporal signature, and we got to see that tested with Pompeii. Unfortunately, no documents on Pompeii were shown, so we don’t know its classification.

Mobius says the Variant is hiding in Apocalypses, so it has to be a “naturally-ocurring, sudden, no warning, no survivors” event. But y’see, that’s kind of Weird. Because the Ragnarok was the very opposite of all of that. I wouldn’t say it was natural, it had plenty of warnings and a handful of survivors. Pompeii, on the other hand, ticks all those boxes, so I thought that the classification was based on those factors. Because it’s Class, not Level.

I was Wrong. 

Moving forwards, Loki figures out the second thing, with the Kablooei. Alabama, 2050, Roxxcart being used as shelter for a storm. During the briefing for the mission, B-15 says it’s a Class Ten Apocalypse.  And then my brain started ticking. How is Class 10 a storm, and Class 7 a whole planet goes kaboom? How Is This Classified? 

Is it by How It Happened? Class 7 is Big Monster With Giant Sword Stabs Planet and Class 10 is Storm?

I was Wrong again!

I rewind a little bit and Boom, right there, very easy to miss (VERY easy, I had to go frame by frame because it gets blurred super fast). In the Alabama file, it says "Class Ten Apocalypse - Entire Town Annihilation, Planetary Body Intact.”

So, it is by Intensity, with 10 being the smallest and 1 the biggest level. I wouldn’t have figured out it was Backwards like that tho, if it wasn’t for a friend on Discord, so kudos for friend. I was going crazy trying to make sense of that.

Class 10, town vanishes off the map. Class 7, an entire planetary civilization dies. Heavens know what Class 1 would be like, but in my opinion, it would be the destruction of the Sacred Timeline itself and nothing else. 

That “Planetary Body Intact” part got to me, so I believe it is merely an addition and doesn’t interfere with the classification. Case in point, Thanos’ Snap event. Very Big Thing. I would totally slap that in Class 3 or 4, because Half The Universe Said Bye, but no planets were destroyed, as far as we know.

And about Pompeii, I am sure that would be Class Ten.

TL;DR: The classification is by Intensity, with 10 being the smallest and 1 the biggest level. Planetary condition is an addition that doesn’t interfere directly with the classification.

Steve walked through the door of a store and was greeted by the Halloween decorations, a skeleton in a top hat saying good morning to you sir. The mice that usually hung out on his fire escape asked if he had the weather forecast. The ducks chattered amongst themselves, managing to out-talk even Sharon. Not all entities were quite so polite, though. Steve walked down the street (not exactly used to his pre-serum body again, but at least remembering how it felt to move in it) and tripped over a pumpkin precariously placed at the edge of a front porch, receiving quite the exasperated response.

“Hey, buddy! Watch where yer feckin’ going!”

Steve blinked a few times at the pumpkin, wondering what made it Scottish of all things, and then he heard a familiar voice (one that still made him go cold all over, even years later). Would Loki recognise him in this form? Maybe if he didn’t turn around … “I stood on him,” Steve said, giving a slight cough to clear his throat, keeping his head determinedly down. “Seems fair he has something to say about it.”
