I DO HAVE A FAVORITE ACTUALLY i think Catalyst is the best mashmorgan fic I wrote tbh, which was kickstarted by this long-ass comment I got on Cleaning Bones

Okay so I told you before that in fate lore, a catalyst is something related to a specific hero, which you use to ensure you'll summon them specifically (for exemple, Astolfo's catalyst in Fate/Apocrypha is the bottle of their lost wit.) The basic idea of this fic is: if you carried off your ex's bones in a fit of grief and it called them to Chaldea. Would it be fucking awkward or what.

Morgan canonically manages to highjack the Chaldea summoning system to get a beach vacation in one event. Btw.

I'm just... really proud of this specific bit. Of course Mash is lying by arguing that Morgan might be here out of the goodness of her heart. But at the same time, she DOES genuinely believe Morgan to be a good person, because that's the person she's come to know back then. Meanwhile, Morgan 1) believes herself evil and 2) cannot comprehend the idea of anyone seeing her as anything but evil. So originally Morgan interprets it as a joke, and then, when faced with the possibility that maybe she might be good, she just goes "Hm. I don't like that. Anyways."

Also notice how Mash refers to her as the "Winter Queen" here instead of "Morgan." It's a purposeful jab here, kinda like "well ok if you're gonna call me out on my shit I'm not gonna keep referring to you on a friendly first name basis."

Love my bitch Morgan who reacts to any vaguely inconvenient emotion by just not processing them. Oh you kept pieces of my corpses? Well that is horrifying. I'm going to pretend that didn't happen now bye.

God. Like. Okay. Morgan's entire thought process (and it's upped up as a Berserker) is that she has very strict rules regarding how she interacts with the world. It literally does not matter if she hates you or if you're an enemy. If you didn't breach her rules, she won't hurt you. So here, carrying her bones is definitly a weird flex, but Morgan rationalizes it as "well, fair enough ig" which is why she refuses to engage with it from an emotional point of view. You earned that right. Enjoy it it well.

Morgan is constantly associated with water/rain/lakes/winter/ice so anytime I write her I gotta go ham on my metaphors :)

Notice that she's back to referring to that girl as "Mash" rather than "Sir Kyrielight."

Sir Galahad, in Arthuriana & Fate lore, is often considered to be the "purest" of the round table, as the only bitch who actually managed to grab the grail. That's why Morgan calls specifically upon Galahad here; she's contrasting the one who was sinless vs the truly unhinged move that is keeping pieces of someone's dead body.

Morgan does not believe there is anything good or virtuous about her. She is constantly trying to convince herself that her every actions are for selfish purposes. So it's fucking wild to her. To think that once upon a time, she had been loved. Once upon a time, she could have loved back strongly enough to nerf herself about it.

It’s set to the song from Hamilton of the same name, and it’s based on Ace Attorney 4, Case 1. There are gonna be some hints from information learned during 4-4, but I really wanted to make the animatic about the Room Where It Happened (and what that means depends on what time you’re looking at, which is Very Interesting). And the power play between a certain two characters in the midst of all this is…. Gonna be fun.

I just have like small thumbnails that I’ll fill out for the whole song (yikes), and I might not go further than thumbs because making an animatic is a lot of effort and takes more skills in more things than I have. I also have decided to take it upon myself to adjust the lyrics by hand to more match AA4, which is also a fun adventure of making the cadence work and making it not unrecognizable and getting the information across.

Hello! I finally have a completed project I can post about in full, hahaha!

Let me introduce you to a week’s worth of shenanigans, a desktop buddy named Herlock Sholmes!

@characteroulette and @versegm worked on the function and dialogue, and I scratched out some poses for him over the course of the jam, with an additional two costume changes as a little bonus treat when he inevitably needs to run off on his next big case.

He’s quite fun and his expressions were a delight to draw; Ace Attorney posing and silhouettes are just so good. Let no one say I don’t love me a hand pose, hahaha. And I really missed drawing Ace Attorney stuff to begin with, even if I am once again drawing a garbage Sherlock lmao.

(he’s actually in my top three Sherlock adaptations, so he’s not doing too bad)

What is a ghost? It’s a little program buddy that sits on your desktop and chats every so often, with other capabilities depending on what’s programmed into them. there is information here that should help one install the core program (SSP).

This is my first ghost project, so I’m sure my brother can give more detail than I can. But yes! He’s ready for his 1.0 release!!

Ghost Jam 2022 Results!

Hello everyone! Sorry for the delay. We had a much bigger event than we were expecting, so it’s been quite a task getting everything together!

We had an incredible turnout this year, with 23 ghosts submitted by 32 participants, several of whom joined the server specifically for the event! This is a huge growth from last year; nearly double the amount of ghosts, 13 more participants, and 19 of our participants releasing a ghost for the first time as a part of this event!

Additionally, several people took on the optional challenges we offered this year. The challenges were as follows:

72 Hour challenge: create the ghost within the first 72 hours of jam.

New Assets Only challenge: create the ghost using no premade assets at all, aside from a template.

3 ghosts qualified for the 72 Hour challenge, and 14 qualified for the New Assets Only challenge! We also saw several different interpretations of our optional Disaster theme!

With so many ghosts, I'll admit, writing up that many blurbs about them sounds intimidating both to write and to read. So instead, this year we're going to list some bullet points for each ghost, and encourage you to download each one to try them out for yourself! There were so many interesting concepts explored this year, you've really just got to try them to see!

Oh thats not easy, but i think its the feisty ones who will fight and be loud and dont let them get walked on and be really in your face, they are also very vulnerable most of the time and the feistiness is like a shield.

All my ideas cough cough No but really, there are alot of ideas i think about that are very cool, tho i cant say which i would never write. Mmh.. i think the one i never will write is about a demon girl and an angel girl who were/are lovers and were punished to become humans and forget the other one and be always reborn. But the former demon starts remembering who she was and meets the former angel and tries to get her memories back too.

Let's go for some fire emblem I never talk about fe fics over here

So first of all the base concept for Fever Confessions was based on convoluted and incomprehensible discord convos with a friend, where the tl;dr is "if Grima forced people to drink his blood to make them immortal and then tortured them for fun, would it be fucked up or what." I wrote a couple fics about it in our convos, and like, I had to store them somewhere right. I figured it would make no sense without context, but people apparently kind of like it? But hey, good for them!

Selena is canonically an isekai protagonist from another world (she hails from a completely different game in fact) so I thought it'd be cool if her biology was also a bit different than that of the humans in fe fates. Reacts differently to poisons, different sense of taste, ect.

in fe Fates, the royals (whomst Camilla is a part of) kinda suck, they're violent warmongers who conquer everyone around them ect ect, but they have a lot of dialogues along the lines of "despite everything we must be honorable" and stuff like that, so I really like the idea of them like... thinking they know war, but only really knowing "battle." They're ultimately sheltered royalties. They don't know jack shit about starvation or torture or the truly awful stuff that gets a war going. They think it's only exchanging blows. Idk man I think it would fuck if the guys known for unbriddled violence could still find themselves truly horrified by some shit.

As stated previously: the base premise was "Grima forcefed her his own blood to get to keep torturing her," hence why while she's hallucinating she tries to "give that blood back."

I love. Writing deities. I love going ham on themes and symbolisms. I love Grima the breath of ruin the wings of despair <3

A trope? I suppose that I really like is like. When the monster (literal or metaphorical) turns out to have been a perfectly regular bloke. And you have to grasps with the fact that this could have been you. That this was someone normal. That something truly horrible happened to twist them into something like this. I'm thinking about werewolves typing this but this is also what I meant with this specific fic.

I was thinking about the title the other day and I don’t really like it anymore so now it’s a working title, but Arduous Task is my post-Dirge of Cerberus “and they were roommates” Genesis and Cloud fic.

That’s uh. Oversimplifying it a bit but I think it’s funny.

I’m gonna push my ace!Cloud and ace!Genesis headcanons, they’re gonna bond over Shared Trauma, Genesis is gonna be such a little bitch and AVALANCHE is still gonna adopt him like he’s a feral stray cat, there might be a strifesodos smooch. I’m excited.

I’m supposed to be working on a scene involving Gen pissing Denzel right the fuck off because he’s an abject disaster, but I’m working my way to that. I have two chapters finished, the third I’m in the middle of, and three more chapter titles and descriptions planned out. But here’s a snippet from chapter 1

"It’s not about containment, it’s about keeping you out of trouble." Tifa chimed in.

"If you knew anything about who I was, who I am, you would know you'd be out of luck in that regard." This time, Genesis noticed both Tifa and Reeve seemed remarkably calm about his threat to escape. They glanced toward Cloud, sharing some communication he didn't know how to parse.

Fine, then.

He was still unsure of his strength after who knew how long being in this hospital bed, but he threw the blanket off and got himself out of bed within the space of a breath. The machines whined as he pulled away from them, and he turned toward the door.

He felt a hand close around his wrist, and he tugged with his not inconsiderable strength to break the connection. It didn't work.

He looked down at the gloved hand, appalled, and followed the arm to Cloud. Cloud, who was up and standing beside him despite him intentionally putting the hospital bed between them. (He was shorter than Genesis expected.) Glowing Mako eyes glanced up at him, and Genesis tugged at his wrist again in furious response. The man looked like this was hardly a feat, to be restraining him. "You said you weren't a SOLDIER." Genesis glared.

From across time and apparently space, it's a Chrono Trigger ghost made for Ghost Jam 2021! Bring Crono, Marle, and Lucca onto your desktop to hang out with you! They don't have too much content yet, but we have a lot of cool ideas for the future!

@zarla-s​ wrote all the dialogues, and despite having to move slowly because her wrist is still healing, she pulled through and wrote us some top tier dialogues! Make sure you try out all the functions and such and see it all!

@characteroulette did all of the shell art, and exported over 340 files for this shell! Thanks to the crazy amount of artwork that he put out, these three have poses that face forwards, left, and right, so that they can look at each other while they talk!

And I pulled the wonderful elements that I was given together with the coding! Not only can all three characters look at each other, they'll face correctly no matter how you move them around on screen!

They also come with a balloon that replicates the look of the original SNES text boxes. It comes with a custom font, so make sure you install that! The balloon should install itself when you install the ghost, but if it does not, you can download it separately as well.
