I was stressing out about breaking up my Inktober feed, with this piece (pun intended) but then I realized that's not what Inktober is about for me this year. It's about making it enjoyable and stress free. As artists we put so much stress on appearances and making sure things are perfect and completely done to an unreasonable standard! You are perfect just the way you are. Flaws and imperfections included. I felt lonely without my family on this corporate holiday, and I created this piece to shout out to all the people who feel like they are alone on this holiday weekend. I'm here to say to please take care of yourself. Remove yourself from toxic family/relationship conversations, remove yourself from situations that don't serve you and take time for you. Be thankful for your body and your mind and how they get you through some seriously tough shit. You are a warrior. Now go grab the biggest slice of pie you can.
