Who can love a monster like Charlotte Katakuri? He is the son of Charlotte Linlin, known as Big Mom, and the question of the second eldest child in the family is who could love someone like him.

Chapter XVII

And the day came. Today was the wedding day. All the guests were anxious to see the future couple. How the relationship between the two would be from now on. They are expectant. And even Katakuri's brothers are talking to the people to keep them quiet. Big Mom already wanted to taste the big cake that the chefs have prepared.

Poor Len kept fiddling with the dress and even Brûlée stopped her by lightly slapping her hands. She puffed out her cheeks in annoyance. In truth, everything was uncomfortable for her, even the hairstyle Pudding had done for her. She wasn't used to these things and didn't know how to react. She was really afraid, little by little. She is sure that Katakuri will do well. And one important thing: who will be her escort to the altar?

As if her thoughts were heard, someone knocks on the door where Galette opens it for Perospero.

"I've come for the bride."

"Is Katakuri already at the altar?"

"And very anxious," he replies, "it's the first time I've ever seen him a bit nervous.

"It's normal, he's marrying Len," Smoothie laughs, already putting the finishing touches on the girl.

"Now! Leave me alone." She was already tired.

"Oh, come on, there's only one thing missing." Smoothie finishes painting the girl's lips. "Ready!"

"Great! Come on, before the groom gets something."

And speaking of the King of Rome, he shuffles his feet a little uneasily under the attentive gaze of all those people his mother invited. The truth is that he has gone overboard compared to the weddings of his sister Praline and Chiffon. Of course, he's an important commander and feared by the entire Marine Corps, and that's to be expected. From time to time, he glances at his twin brothers who were standing next to him in case something happened.

He clears his throat a little, feeling a little dry. Ah, his scarf was present in all this mess.

And the music starts to play, signalling that the bride was already here. Katakuri gulps, ready for what was to come. He turns his body slowly and his eyes are fixed on Len. He has never seen her in that outfit and she looked really beautiful in it. And so made up. Everything about her looked the most beautiful to him. For her part, Len was impressed that Katakuri was dressed in that fancy outfit. He didn't look like himself minus the scarf. She laughs inwardly knowing that Katakuri won't change.

Once at the altar, Perospero withdraws, leaving the two bride and groom with the priest. They look into each other's eyes for a few seconds and then look at the priest who is about to say his prayers. Linlin was bored by this part, he just wished he would get to the part where the bride and groom had to kiss and that was it, and eat that cake that was calling out to him.

"Now, you have to say your prayers."

Katakuri's little sister walks over to where they are standing to hand her the wedding rings. They both take each one, about to say their prayers.

"I, Charlotte Katakuri, take you, Hirawashi Len, to be my wife. I promise to be faithful to you in good times and bad, in sickness and in health. To love and respect you all the days of my life." With that phrase he places the ring on her.

Len can't help but smile and makes the same gesture.

"I, Hirawashi Len, take you, Charlotte Katakuri, to be my husband. I promise to be faithful to you in good times and bad, in sickness and in health. To love and to cherish you all the days of my life."

"With this I declare that you are both joined in marriage. I pronounce you man and wife," the priest prays, receiving a murderous look from Big Mom wanting him to finish. "You may kiss the bride."

Here's a severe problem, will Katakuri be able to take off that scarf? Len, for her part, forces the man to bend down and give her a kiss on the cheek as a sign that they are now joined as a married couple. They receive applause and shouts from the crowd, thus ending the wedding; although the party was still to come, and that was the fun part. The commander, without even thinking about it, takes Len in his arms, wanting to keep her close to him and no one else, to everyone's surprise.

That girl has softened the heart of that cold and reckless man to anyone's eyes. But Len is also dangerous when she wants to be. They both know how to control each other's fury. They know their own weaknesses and it was clear that Katakuri already has a new weakness. Losing Len forever. He rests his head on her arm, purring slowly as if he were a simple cat. A tender smile tugged at Len's lips as she stroked his head. He was completely submissive, that commander.

Oh, and Big Mom squeals with delight as she has the big cake in front of her. It wouldn't be a wedding without it. Everyone was dancing to the music while those two were at their leisure. Usually the guests came over to congratulate them on their marriage. Katakuri doesn't usually talk much; however, this is different with Len. The girl was trying her best to hold some kind of conversation with the people. But those hands caressing hers were a bit distracting.

She knows that Katakuri wants his now wife's attention and not just talking to the guests. She is supposed to be all his after this event. By the way, he doesn't know where their honeymoon will be or if they have one. Katakuri will most likely ask her to move into his house so he can be closer to her. She can't complain because she was always stuck there because of him. Katakuri was getting a bit possessive and understandably so, now he must protect his wife and future children. He kept caressing the young girl's belly already wishing they were there.

The young Hirawashi can't help but smile tenderly at her husband's impatience. But there is still time. She is in the premature stage and can have children whenever she wants. Of course, Katakuri is older than her and you never know when she might die. And let's not think about that now.

The party lasted for hours and, little by little, the guests were leaving, including the couple who were already a little tired of the party. Brûlée opened a portal in one of the mirrors to allow the two to retire to their respective homes. They needed privacy. They have done it a couple of times before, but this one is special. Katakuri hasn't let go of the girl the whole way through, not even when they got to her room. Len took the opportunity to remove the scarf that was in the way of the perfection in front of him. How is it possible that he doesn't love himself as he is? She must spoil him even more for him to realize it.

Once in the room, they looked at each other and the man couldn't hold it any longer than he caught her lips with his to kiss her. A day without tasting them was killing him inside. One of his big hands began to reach under her dress, rubbing her legs and thighs that drove him crazy. It made him want to tear it with his bare hands, but he didn't think it was funny because she looked beautiful in it. Beautiful and perfect to his eyes. Until his fingers stopped, noticing that something strange was going on down there. It wasn't soft her skin but more like it was made of cloth. A smile forms on the big man's lips as he rips off the dress. Len sighs with relief that Katakuri has gotten rid of her and notices how the man gives a grunt of satisfaction. She doesn't feel his breathing so she looks up to see him. Big mistake. Those maroon eyes were full of desire and illusion. The white lace lingerie fit her perfectly. It's like he' s dreaming right now.

He lays Len down on the bed, where he is on top of her, undressing. Those clothes were in the way for both of them and the young woman didn't miss the opportunity to caress the abs of this being that everyone considered to be a super human. He was pure perfection. A perfect demon ready to annihilate and love at the same time.

And, finally, both were half naked almost sharing body and soul. The kisses come back full of love and compassion, knowing full well that they both wanted it badly. Katakuri is insatiable. Will he be a good father? He wasn't quite sure. He is afraid that his own children will be afraid of him because of the way he looks. No. He shouldn't think about it. Due her love for her mother as well as her tendency to not kill her enemies, rather make them suffer, I believe Amande would be a isolating yandere. She doesn’t show emotions, rather expresses them, so you can be sure she will tell you how much you mean to her, and why you need to stay with her. 

She has no problem chopping off your limbs if you decide to leave, she also has no problem torturing you, she knows the right spots of the body to cut to keep you alive. Will listen to you beg and plead for forgiveness as she looks down at you with no regret or mercy. 

If you manage to be good, you will mostly be rewarded with some freedoms. You won’t be allowed to leave her domain, but you can be assured you can walk around (with surveillance). She will mostly pat your head, face still stoic even when she’s mad, telling you how good you are. 

Is the type to want you to come to her for things. No matter what the issue is, you have to go to her for permission. Her rules are now your life, and you better follow them for your own wellbeing. 

Charlotte Galette

Galette shows a bit more emotions than either of her sisters on this list, she hates the idea of betrayal (especially when it comes to the Big Mom Pirates) and values her life to the point she cried happy tears when she was saved. Due to her actions and reactions, I consider her to be a manipulative yandere.

Wants to convince you that you need her, will go so far as to let you get hurt in an attempt to run and she is the only one who is willing to help/save you. She also gives me submissive vibes, not as in willing to let you walk over her, but rather, will get what you want/ask for.

Won’t use physical force, again she wants you to think of her as some hero, not a monster, so she will treat you like a treasure rather than prisoner (or person-). 

Once you see her as some good and kind being, she will slowly get you to join the Big Mom Pirates and possibly marry you. She sees these commitments as true love and if you refuse, to her this means you don’t love her, so she might have a mental breakdown-

Charlotte Smoothie

Smoothie is a bit tougher than her sisters, she displays a lot more reactions than the other two. Though she is usually chill, she can also be cruel, from how she handles her enemies and individuals who betray Big Mom, I want to consider her an eliminating yandere! If she has no problem killing and drinking her subordinates, than she has no problem doing the same to anyone who tries to save you. 

She will also threaten you with this, maybe even find individuals who you favor and threaten to kill them the same way if you don’t value your own life. Either way, be prepared for threats, she will have her way and you will listen.

If you are good, Smoothie is very carefree and friendly, almost a different person really. Will almost treat you like a human being she cares about, if you can ignore all the dead people she’s killed to keep you by her side-

I would suggest to stay on your toes and keep your guard up, Smoothie gives me vibes that shows she can get bored easily, if you give into her too quickly or always fight her, she loses interest. Make it a game of cat and mouse to keep yourself alive long enough to escape.

Charlotte siblings' attitudes to marriage: Part 2 (Oven, Daifuku, Galette, Flampe, Opera)

Headcanon-heavy, NOT x reader! This is just our take on these characters. If you enjoy it, follow us for more. Feel free to request which siblings we should include in Part 3!

Oven is married, with five children, and takes his role of a husband and father very seriously. It doesn't matter that his marriage was arranged; he has the utmost respect for his wife and is completely loyal.

Even though as a pirate and minister he doesn't have lots of time he can devote to his family, the time he does spend with them is always meaningful. The children love him, and his wife would be lying if she said she didn't develop some feelings for him too. Himself, he first saw this marriage as a responsibility, but grew to like it over the course of time, and now he'd die protecting his family if necessary.

Just like Oven, Daifuku is married, but unlike him, he doesn't really give two shits about his arranged marriage. It was forced on him, fine, he had to accept the ceremony and have a few kids, fine, but that doesn't mean he's gonna allow it to change his life, hell no.

Essentially, he still lives like a bachelor and views the whole marriage deal as a pure formality. So of course he doesn't constrain himself with staying faithful, doesn't spend too much time with his wife, and doesn't even remember her birthday date, that's how little he cares. He'd much rather devote attention to his blood family and friends than a near-stranger he just had to wed; and can you really blame him?

Galette would like to get married one day, but she'd like to be able to choose who she wishes to spend her life with. Having observed some of her older siblings, she's scared of becoming stuck in an unhappy marriage, and she'd rather avoid a fate like this.

Unlike Lola, though, Galette doesn't feel like she has it in her to disobey her family and become ostracized for wanting the wrong person. Thus, ideally she'd like to marry someone who both she and her family like. Life isn't perfect though, and she knows this: thus, she is ready to marry whoever Mama tells her to, even if she dreams of real love deep down.

Flampe would love to marry someone in the future but she has Expectations™️. Her idea of marriage and of herself is just so idealized, hardly anyone could possibly make it through the dating stage and not 'disappoint her' effectively ruining the entire relationship. Flampe doesn't give second chances and she doesn't settle for anything less than perfect. Thus, surviving a relationship with her long enough to get to marriage would certainly be a feat few can accomplish.

If Big Mom wanted her to marry someone she dislikes, Flampe wouldn't just oblige, oh no. She likes her family, she likes Totto, but the moment she'd be forced to tie herself to someone uncool or unpopular (even after trying to argue her way out of it) would be the moment she'd start packing her bags. It's not beyond her to pull off a Lola, running away from a wedding, even if she knows the consequences of such a move.

Despite being way past the age when Big Mom tends to marry her children off, and not so useful to get a pass on staying single, Opera never got married. He was supposed to, of course, and he didn't oppose the orders he got; it's just that no prospective candidates found him desirable enough.

After three instances of various people running away from an arranged marriage with him, despite the risks, Big Mom just gave up, seeing Opera as a lost cause. He's painfully aware of this, and it doesn't help that he does wish for love. He's a good person at heart and after the initial awkwardness, he certainly wouldn't be a half bad husband, but his looks and shyness mean that he's usually not given a chance to let his personality shine. Sometimes, he regrets having agreed to getting a Devil Fruit and ponders if without it, someone would have chosen him already.

Characters I wish got more panel time? No surprise but, I’d kill to see so much more of Coby! I was happy to see him a lil bit in Stampede, and then he popped up again in the manga not too long ago, but still! I wish we’d do more check ins with that sweet boy cause I go all heart eyes every time he gets screen time! I just recently started my OP rewatch and seeing pre-time skip chubby baby Coby really warms my heart! 

There are SO many OP characters, and honestly, I’ve definitely forgotten some. So off the top of my head some other characters I just generally want/wanted to see more of are:

One Piece Birthdays: Honorable Mentions

     One Piece has hundreds of characters, and over the past year I’ve celebrated the birthdays of only about a few hundred or so of them. So I’d like to take the time to mention every One Piece character without a birthday. Some don’t have birthdays because they’ve debuted too recently, some have no birthdays because they have been forgotten. Some have no birthdays because we haven’t gotten to that yet, even though they’ve existed for a long time and we remember them.     I used the names that they are given on the wiki, as opposed to their Official English names, if they even have one. I did this so that you can simply search their names on the One Piece Wiki and learn about them, if any interest you. However, a couple of them are so obscure that they don’t even have their own pages, in which case you will only be able to fine them here.

  Next we will honor all non-canon characters. These characters appeared in filler, movies, specials, OVAs, one-shots, video games, or any other material that was officially made but not part of the manga. These characters are gaurunteed to never get a birthday, and that is a curse they bear. Now some non-canon characters, such as Gion and Tokikake, debut in non-canon and then later appear in canon, making them canon characters, and thus giving them a chance to have a birthday. However, this is such a rare case, that I wouldn’t count on it, especially for non-canon characters that debuted years ago.

    Lastly, I want to honor all characters, canon and non-canon, with no names. The majority of these characters are just extras that only appeared in one panel or shot. But there’s a couple that are actually memorable, such as that one guy that was in Spandine’s group, or the masked CP-0 members. Some of these people can actually get names eventually. For example, Don Quixote Mjosgard was a nameless character for the longest time, until in the Reverie he became important and was given a name. I cannot list these nameless characters, as they have no names, but I do still want to honor them, and hope that one day they will be given names and have birthdays.
