a sketch of Erica Static-Speaker, Children of Gaia Theurge they've still got Rage, y'know. they're not a bunch of "granola-eating yoga hippies" despite what the second edition tribe book says. they're more peaceful than literally like... any other tribe but that doesn't mean they can't go Ape Shitt. Erica in particular almost became an Abomination -- and while recovering from the trauma of her first change, a fuckin' vampire almost got her fired from her job and then showed up at her dogshit apartment to bitch at her while Erica's living in a slum on the REAL bad side of town. that mf was LUCKY that Erica was a scared theurge and not even a Philodox, let alone a galliard or ahroun.

With the new release of Werewolf the Apocalypse, I wanted to doodle my Child of Gaia in one of my favorite art pieces. And desperately hoping people get the connection.

This was just a quick doodle but I think it turned out p nice. Im trying to shake some bad artist block lmao

Do we ever think about how Gideon rejects Pyrrha's attention as a mother because it's a little late to come into her life and instead accepted John as a father? (even though she had some reasons to hate him)? sure, john gave her everything she wanted, but why is pyrrha different? I wish Pyrrha had a chance :((

I think the main difference is that Pyrrha did have a chance to do better by Gideon, and she fumbled it.

John gets dad status because he stepped up as her father as soon as he knew she existed. She knows he had his own blood-related reasons for launching a military expedition to recover her body, but it still must have meant a hell of a lot to her that he did. Vindication for all her childish hopes that maybe she was just lost, and not abandoned. See, Harrow? Her dad really would have come for her, if he had known.

Pyrrha proves the exact opposite. She did know, and it changed nothing. The whole time Gideon was growing up on the Ninth, telling herself there was someone out there looking for her, Pyrrha knew exactly where she was. She thought she must be dead, but she never actually checked. She never even tried to claim her body. It was an extremely complicated situation for Pyrrha, but from Gideon's perspective, that looks a hell of a lot like abandonment.

So yeah. John gets dad privileges despite being a fucked up bastard, because he's the fucked up bastard who went looking for her. Pyrrha watched her fall to the surface of the Ninth and quite literally left her there to rot.

survives the massacre of innocents

killed (stabbed!) and comes back later

there is a rock and a tomb and it is rolled away

crown of thorns/finger bones

child of god with a woman who chooses to have this child to save the world

returns with wounds still open

returns not to be a part of the world but to sit at the right hand of the father

brought back by this father

not to be that person but jesus of nazareth and gideon nav both named for places they are not truly of

denied/betrayed by one of their closest companions (judas/peter; harrow)

okay to be SO fucking for real about it? just now realized. there's definitely a lot of different reasons kiriona's named what she is. but firstly and foremostly can you IMAGINE how the houses would react if they knew god's heir was SOME RANDO FROM THE NINTH?? well. not so good it doesn't seem!

Mitron and Gaia's relationship is that of a father getting obsessively overprotective of his child because his wife died and the child is the last thing he has of her. The child also looks so much like his late wife that he just gets worse and worse until he ends up isolating the child from the world. The child ends up resenting his behaviour but also still loves him because that's her family and she gets it. She hates it but she gets it. And she ends up running away and finding somewhere better knowing he'll be left alone but knowing it's better this way. She can't help him so all she can do is leave. Do you get it. DO YOU GET IT

Kiriona said that if she killed Alecto, she would be John's cavalier. That's so interesting to me, because it's the one relationship we've never seen in a necrocav pairing. We've had siblings, lovers, cousins, best friends, coworkers, uncles, servants, and whatever the fuck Babs and Ianthe had going on, but never a parent and child.

Unless.

We still don't know what Samael and Anastasia's relationship was, but we do know now that Anastasia was already a mother before the ascension. Pyrrha painted a nursery for her.

It would be very interesting if Samael had been Anastasia's son.

The best thing about ignoring (most) of the child characters in fates is that I can give them parents solely for the comedic potential of the pairing without sabotaging a unit I want to use.
