!!big old moving out fund!!
BIG THINGS ARE HAPPENING!!! i’m officially getting ready to move out for a job starting next june, but there’s still a lot that needs to be done.  i’m currently between jobs and still in school, but i have a few positions i’m interviewing for this upcoming week. that being said, i still need to have a significant amount of money set aside because i would love to be out of my current toxic (christian, homophobic) household by mid-april next year!! living with family in new york would not be a very viable option because the commute to work would be too long for a 7am start / late afternoon end, and i risk not having any privacy, which is something i deeply need, as well as no space for my esa.
i want to raise at least $4000 so i can have money for a security deposit,  a low rent, as well as necessities for me and my emotional support animal. i also still need a new laptop, which is a strong, strong necessity for me to have.
as april will be here before i know it, i am posting this now as well as all of my links below. if you see this please spread it around and/or give anything!! i’d love to make this moving process so much easier!!

The more I learn about judaism the more I wonder where tf christianity got all its bad shit. Why is divorce a sin in christianity when judaism has recognized the right to divorce for nearly a millennia and has codified religious laws for it. Why does christianity consider sex to be dirty (to the point where puritans considered it a sin to enjoy having sex with your own spouse) when in judaism it's considered holy and it's a literal mitzvah to have sex with your spouse on the sabbath. Why does christianity consider it a sign that you're faithless if you question your religion when in judaism that's considered an essential part to developing your faith. I'm probably stating the obvious here but I still can't get over the fact that there's no historical basis to any of this shit before christianity started, it's like christians just said "hey guys what if we took the torah and built a new religion around it but this time it was actively hostile to human life"
#rambling#disclaimer this isnt about individual christians im speaking about the religious trauma i experienced in my own life etc etc#these are just a few examples that I've noticed but they're definitely something#the part about sex in particular shocked me bc sex is pretty much viewed as actively evil in a lot of christian denominations#like you should only do it to create children and if you take pleasure in it (even if its with your own spouse) youre a dirty sinner#there arent as many examples like this nowadays but if you read puritan laws about sex it's like#you're allowed to have sex with your wife basically 10 times a year but you have to be fully clothed with the lights off#and you cant have sex on a holiday or a sunday and you cant touch each other and you have to try as hard as possible to hate it#literally WHERE did that mindset come from?? like for real#in judaism having sex with your spouse is basically considered a celebration of everything holy#and if you have sex on the sabbath (the holiest day in the jewish calendar—above every holiday)#its considered TWICE as holy#make it make sense#this is one of the things people mean when they say that lumping judaism in with christianity as 'abrahamic' religions is meaningless#theyre literally nothing alike#the only similarity is the torah but thats only half of the christian bible and one third of the jewish one#AND christianity interprets most of it completely differently from how judaism does#im tired#greatest hits#hall of fame

You know, it's a tragedy that there are no (or very little) Vampire x Christian stories out there, not for angst or theology or forbidden seductiveness or whatnot but for the sheer comedy of it all. I mean, the Christian would technically be immune to all of the vampire's shenanigans, like for example...
Vampire: Fool, I am the most powerful vampire in the West. Nothing but the force of an entire holy temple could even deign to scratch me Christian: Idiot, I AM a holy temple. 1 Corinthians 6:19, fear me and the Spirit inside that can burn you to ashes

idk if someone else has mentioned this but whatever: in the scene where Ballister and Ambrosius are at the bar and The Director is being live-streamed and claimed that the video was fake, she said something like “the monster can come after us, and could be anyone: your spouse, children, or even the person next to you’’ and that TOTALLY REMINDED ME of conservative “Christian” bigots trying to scare people into believing that queer people are “dangerous” and “grooming your children”

y'all need to get a grip. you blab all day about how much you hate bigots and hateful people and how evil it is to dehumanize anyone and then you turn around and say "kys" and "i think [x] should all just kill themselves" and other disgusting, violent and childish trash
so many people on here are just full of hatred and vitriol and turn into frenzied sharks anytime the target 'deserves it' and they think they can get away with it and not be called bad people. then they whine about how sad it is that we can't all just get along and if only all the evil people in the world would stop doing evil things wouldn't that be nicer
you're just as vicious, hypocritical and fanatically puritanical as the caricature you have made in your minds of the people you think you have nothing in common with. if you've ever told someone, ANYONE to kill themselves you're not advocates of justice, you're not artisans of peace, and you certainly don't have any moral high ground that would allow you to pass judgment on others

The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes reviews I've seen fixate on the story's discussion of whether humans are inherently good or inherently evil as if one side or the other is the correct answer. Meanwhile the story itself is showing that individual choice in every action--choosing to act out of either love or self-interest--is what truly matters in shaping society. A free and stable society requires that people be taught to make selfless choices rather than act out of fear. Instead of oppressing people into fearful order, citizens need to have the freedom to choose the good, and be educated with the values that teach them what good is.

not to keep talking about this but if greta decides to take the religious aspects out of her narnia reboot or whatever then there's really no point in even making it. christianity runs so deep in everything related to narnia that taking it out would cause the whole story to fall apart, it would just be another hollow remake and if that's the route she's gonna go (which she most likely will) then i'll just stick to the disney movie and reading the books.

"The question of forgiveness is not a moral issue. We do not forgive because it is the 'correct' thing to do. We forgive because it is the true nature of the life in Christ. As Dostoevsky described it: it is Paradise. In the same manner, the refusal to forgive, the continuation of blame, recrimination, bitterness, etc., are not moral failings. They are existential crises - drawing us away from the life of Christ and Paradise, and ever deeper into an abyss of non-being.
We who expect to receive such great mercy at the time of our own death - should we not extend the same mercy to all while we are yet among them?"
~Fr. Stephen Freeman, Forgive Everyone for Everything
(Art: "Crucifix," by Eric Gill 1917)

Some doodle requests of John Ward from insta. The ones submitted, in order, are:
Throws a bagel at him
Exorcising a demon child
Draw him pregnant
On all fours eating a pile of toes
I will perhaps post some other doodles of him because I'm getting back into Faith for the first time in a few years and I got some ideas while I was gone (namely one about a particular game over screen). Anyways see you guys later and sleep tight.
