Divs (or Devs) originate in Ancient Persian mythology, and were adopted and adapted by many later cultures. They are usually described as monstrous humanoids with enormous strength, magical powers, and frequently a taste for human flesh.

On Gods and Demons: Benevolence and Malevolence
Introduction “Whether a spirit of the four elements, the seven planets, the ten heavens, the 12 signs, the 16 figures, the 24 hours, the 28 mansions, the 360 degrees, or any of the infinite stars in the nighttime sky; whether a spirit of the dead, the living, or the unborn-undying; whether a spirit of humanity, a spirit of those who were once human, or a spirit who was never human at any time…

HADES II ↳ Melinoë — Μηλινοη, "Dark-Minded"
#supergiant hades#hades supergiant#hades 2#hades game#supergiant games#melinoë#melinoe#mygifs#gamingedit#gamingdaily#there is really like Zero information on melinoe aside from that one orphic hymn she's in#so i really REALLY recommend yall go read that its really good and really short#but yeah trying to decide what to include that she has dominion over was hard#OVERALL her main deal is bringing nightmares and madness but she's also seen as kindly by her worshippers#and since she was born on one of the 5 underworld rivers she has a really strong affiliation with the underworld itself#basically in her actual greek canon she's the daughter of zeus who slept with persephone in the dual-form of plouton#(basically him and hades were merged as one being)#so she's often depicted with half her body being black an half her body being white as a show of her dual chthonic and heavenly nature#and i think that's what's up with her skeletal limb which i REALLY love if that's the case#BUT YEAH not much on melinoe honestly ! she's pretty much often thought of as a different title for hecate#or even the erinyes at times#so im really stoked to see what supergiant is gonna do with all the wiggle room they have to play with due to her lack of lore#im still pretty torn on whether or not i should have included the potential ''goddess of the moon'' for one of her domains#cos shes not like. Explicitly a moon goddess (granted neither is hecate but at least there's more backing that up for hecate)#but supergiant is obviously heavily leaning into moon motifs on her design but idk if thats because of melinoe herself#or because shes a student of hecate who HAS actual correlations to the moon/darkness#melinoe and hecate are so easy to conflate cos theres a lot of overlap for what they actually Do#all i know 100% is that melinoe brings madness and nightmares and has an entourage of spirits who wander the world with her

my notifs recently got me thinking about the very random concept of "what if there is a second, secret CHB. directly below normal CHB." and i ended up brainstorming it in the discord.
context for how this originated: one was just a random notif on my post talking about the tunnels under the Hephaestus cabin, and the other was some tags from @drksanctuary on my fake readriordan article mentioning the idea of a chthonic demigod camp.
so. my brilliant (read: "smashing my 2 brain cells together") idea: the elaborate and seemingly infinite tunnels under cabin 9 are remnants of an abandoned underground CHB that exists directly underneath camp. It's basically just normal CHB except in a big cave system, probably connected to the labyrinth somewhere and has the separate tunnels, and instead of the Olympian cabins it has chthonic cabins. there's probably also some infernal nymphs and etc down there too. since all chthonic demigods can learn to shadow-travel they probably used that to get down there, and a lot of chthonic demigods probably have geokinesis just by nature, ergo the tunnels (for when they don't want to shadow-travel, or can't).
in brainstorming with the discord we decided it could be cool if some of the cabins lined up with the above-ground cabins, either for thematic purposes or associations or whatever. Like there's maybe a Hermes and maybe Poseidon cabin in the chthonic CHB too that just link to the above-ground ones, but also like Persephone cabin lines up to Demeter cabin because of course it does. and maybe Hecate cabin lines up to Cabin 8 cause Artemis is sometimes 1/3rd of Hecate. Maybe Angelos cabin is beneath Cabin 1, and Zagreus cabin is beneath Cabin 12. Things like that.
The other ones i thought of were either Hypnos or Thanatos cabin lines up with Apollo, because twins, and the other is just right beside it (because twins). And Charon's cabin is beneath Cabin 9, ergo why the tunnel system connects to it (because Charon. Ferryman. Surface access. It makes sense in my brain).
#pjo#riordanverse#headcanon#headcanons#au#< go figure which you wanna classify it as#this is entirely silly musing but it actually kind of works out nicely cause there's far fewer chthonic deities#than there are technical-olympians#so honestly you could get away with having the secondary chb only having a few extra cabins compared to the 12 usual cabins#it definitely wouldnt be any more than the 20 cabins it has by TOA#also for silly thematic reasons i do think itd be funny if despite everything cabin 13 is still inexplicably cabin 13 in underground chb#like. it shouldn't be. that doesnt make sense. but it is. what's the numbering system for the other cabins? who knows#negative numbers would be interesting. cause theyre underground#i do already have the hc of there being a secret extra cabin aboveground in chb nicknamed ''Cabin 0/Zero''#that's a little ways into the woods and kinda run-down cause it goes unused and basically why it exists is because#the ''12 olympians'' is actually inconsistent throughout ancient greece so there's a non-zero chance they could have a demigod show up#whose parent *is* technically one of the 12 olympians but they dont have a cabin for them - like Enodia. ergo: spare cabin#anyways all this musing is intentionally very silly#i just think itd be funny for chb to find out there is a second. more goth chb that is otherwise identical#literally directly below them. for no reason.#''why'd they made a second chb directly below the first one?'' ''idk underworld/chthonic reference i guess''

so you could interpret gods being unable to interfere with the underworld and, therefore, death (mostly) as they live in the sky right. Therefore. What could chthonic gods be unable to interfere with? SPACE. STORY WHERE SOMEONE IS TRYING TO ESCAPE DEATH AND THEREFORE GOES TO THE ONE PLACE CHTHONIC GODS CANNOT REACH. SPACE!!!!!!!!!! But NOW they have to contend with the Ouranic gods more as they are, forces of the universe with no human form carefully crafted and prepared whenever they descend to earth with human and conceivable thoughts behind their actions.

They pet Vik like a cat, in long, slow strokes starting at the back of their skull down the spine. It felt right.
[ pet my muse - ACCEPTING ]
Tumblr media
Oh, the tingles! Viktor gives a very contented little sigh as H pets them. Okay, maybe they can be a cat, this feels like a pretty good deal.
Fingers down the neck, down the spine, the intricate scarlet ink of their tattoos all abuzz with happy goosebumps until they adjust into a cozy comfort. They are more than happy to permit it, especially from H.
“Ooh, all that painting gave you good hands.” They chuckle, playfully flashing a little wink and smirk at their very favorite lavender-colored artist.

Whatever genetic defect shipped over on a boat in the 20’s and passed those shitty genes on so that you could be a retard online wasn’t a ‘conqueror’ or a ‘pioneer’, it was a misplaced check mark on the immigration form.
my family tree traces back to the mayflower. i've had ancestors fight in every major war in american history. not only did my ancestors colonize the eastern coast, but as soon as the northwest territories were opened up they colonized those lands too. then, with the louisiana purchase, they colonized those lands too. finally, after the conquest of california from mexico my family settled there where i currently live. they were quite literally conquerors and pioneers.
i literally just posted a map of my family's westward settlement like a week ago.

You have no idea how surprised I was to see you in Alabaster tag. I guess I'm just used to see you with meta (which are always a delight to read btw)
What are your opinions about Nico/Al and Percy/Al
Do not let my meta fool you I am a rogue demigods fan first and person second. I love Alabaster. I do not interact enough with the rogue demigods/Titan Army side of the fandom for the amount of thoughts I have about them 😔
As for Alabaster ships - I have heard much about Nico/Alabaster and I think it's very fun and cute. In my Nico Ship Survey it by far swept for most popular Nico/Minor Character ship. I generally think Nico/Minor Character ships tend to be very fun and interesting, I love the minor characters, I love the rogues, and throwing Nico with another rogue and/or another chthonic demigod is always very [chef's kiss] for me.
As for Percy/Al, well. I did fully intentionally make my Alabaster design mirror my Percy design.
Tumblr media
(My main reason for doing so was cause I thought it'd be funny for Al to hate Percy and then to learn that Percy also has a streak in his hair in the exact same spot and get SO pissed that Percy not only ruined his life but is also stealing his brand.)
But yeah I think it's very interesting! I love Percy getting to interact with demigods outside of the camps and I am always down for more rogue and/or Alabaster content. And again, nudge the chthonic demigods together, hell yes. No pun intended.
I just think Alabaster is neat. Let him do whatever he wants forever.

I know we all love the god/deity Nico. But just consider. Nico mistaken as a god.
Why? Because srsly, just imagine it.
You’re a new camper. You’re 8,9,10,11—idk, and your siblings are giving you a tour around Camp. You guys reach the Big House, and there’s Chiron, Mr.D, and then him.
This kid - not so much older than you’re - who wears all back, a sword by his hip, a distinctly powerful around him, sitting at the same table with Dionysus and Chiron. They have been talking when you arrived. He greets you with a silent nod.
Later that day, you see him again at lunch/ dinner. Still sitting with Dionysus. His plate is empty. They talk through out the meal. Perhaps he doesn’t need to eat.
You notice he has a private house all for himself, not so close to other cabins. Maybe he doesn’t like others trespassing in his place.
He’s also the quiet and reserved type, you figure.
He doesn’t talk much. But when he speaks, everyone listens. Whatever he has to say is usually impactful.
He usually sits with the goddess Hestia during the campfire. Rarely someone joins them. Will Solace does sometimes, probably bc the guy’s friendly with just everyone.
You see him in the Arena. His power is absolutely terrifying. Like. God-tier.
You take note of the fact he sometimes leaves Camp for days on a mission or an errand. Something about ghosts and Underworld. As far as you know, no one else in camp does that kind of task. And you absolutely didn’t expect the Underworld to be so easily in and out of. Not for a demigod, at least, because even the mighty Percy Jackson dislikes going there.
He talks about Cerberus and the Furies and Charon and calls Hades “dad”. He must be a chthonic deity. That explains his attire.
And the name di Angelo. It certainly sounds someone to take souls to the afterlife. The name Nico should be the equivalent of Apollo’s Lester.
When another god, Apollo - or Lester, comes visit. You see how the Olympian playfully jokes around and laughs with the Kid. In response, the Kid acts completely relaxed around him, despite not being one of Apollo’s children, whereas you’re there being like Omg it’s a God!. You figure that’s how fellow gods treat each other.
Nico di Angelo must be a God, right?

There's something about the idea that gods change according to belief.
There's something about Aphrodite having to drop her sword and shield and pick up a makeup brush and mirror.
There's something about Zeus's Crown overtaking his hospitality.
There's something about Ares being scrubbed of his care with blood.
There's something about Hera's care being thrown in her face because of her cruelty.
There's something about Dionysus having his artistry and wildness ripped away from him due to his partying.
There's something about Hermes losing his chthonic connections in favour of his trickery.
There's something about Demeter surrendering her fierce, protective love and power over life and death to become a hysterical mother.
There's something about Athena's femininity and protectiveness fading to make her grip her spear and grasp her thoughts tighter.
There's something about Hephaestus forgetting his creations' finesse and intricacy to focus on pure function and efficiency.
There's something about Poseidon's earth-shaking rage that causes waves to rise above the tallest mountains being reduced to occasional vengefulness.
There's something about Apollo giving up his herds and truth and wisdom and plagues to speak the future and heal the wounded through song.
There's something about Artemis turning from children and childbirth to fixate on the wilderness.
There's something about the idea that gods change according to belief.
