Murphy was shaken from his nostalgia when the gentle sound of Dave Barnes Christmas album began to float in from the living room. He knew that the sound meant Clarke had finished getting ready and was at least downstairs with barely a half-hour to spare before the start time on their invitations. It was her favorite album and he wasn’t surprised that she chose that one to start the night. He was sure he could sneak some Nat King Cole in there later after she had finished a drink or two.

As he plotted his music takeover he heard the sound of soft footsteps creeping up behind him and he grinned but didn’t turn to spoil her intended surprise.

Her strong arms wound their way around his waist from behind and he entwined his fingers with hers. She kissed him on the shoulder and peeked over him to see what he was working on.

“That smells heavenly,” Clarke told him, as he tossed the last of the meatballs in the cranberry sauce before loading them into a large dish for the table.

As soon as he got the last scoop into the bowl, Murphy turned around in her arms and pulled her in for a long, languid kiss. “Not as good as you do,” he said into the skin of her neck, breathing in the heady scent there.

“It doesn’t count as very much of a compliment when you are the one who bought this perfume for me, John” she teased, sighing as he kissed her bare skin.

”Not my fault I have such good taste,” he said, pulling back to look at her as his breath caught in his chest. “God, you’re gorgeous.”

And she really was. In a red satin dress that just skimmed her knees with black lace around the waist and more cleavage than was probably fair but he certainly wasn’t complaining about it; he was floored by her beauty. He twirled her around, making her giggle, before pulling her in for another searing kiss. Her eyes were done with a light shimmer and her cheeks red but she has been smart enough to not put her lipstick on yet, knowing Murphy would kiss it off before their friends even arrived.

What was the first fandom you got involved in?

So, this is a little complicated! I do text based RP as a hobby and have done so for over ten years. So technically my first fandom that I did writing for was Harry Potter, but the first fandom I wrote FIC for was the 100.

What is the best fandom you’ve ever been involved in?

I may be biased, but I’m going to say the Tolkien fandom :D I have yet to run into any total asshats like the ones that exist in HP (that i’ve been slowly getting out of anyway). I’m sure that’s because I only talk to other Tolkien fans on Tumblr, and those are few, but still!

Is there an obscure ship which you love?

I mean, @alienfuckeronmain has made me and several other people fall in love with Bard/Bofur from the Hobbit. I also really like Gandalf/Pippin, and I’m writing a fic for them right now. But one that might not be as well known? I still ship Clarke/Murphy from 100 and have been procrastinating watching the latest season because I KNOW that ship has sailed.

Are their any popular ships in your fandom which you dislike?

Current fandom is Tolkien, which means that’s a lot of ships. The one I dislike the most would probably be Aragorn/Arwen. Like, I GET it. It’s romantic as shit. But the movies kind of ruined it for me because I felt like my main girl, Eowyn, got royally screwed and even though I love Eowyn with Faramir, I couldn’t help but hate Arwen a little? Which is stupid. But whatever, I don’t like it.

What was the first fanfic you ever wrote?

I started a multi-chapter fic after the second season of the 100 for Clarke/Murphy that I never finished >.> I’m sure it’s not too late to go back to it... six years later...

What ship do you feel needs more attention?

You know, I’m tempted to say Bilbo/Thorin, just because I’ve run out of things to read and I would like AO3 to be updated more lol (so if anyone has any fic recs, send them to me). But really, Eowyn/Faramir - they’re never the main ship in the fic for some reason - is absolutely beautiful and I would love some more discourse on them. 

What is your all time favourite fanfic?

OOOOF. I read so much fic, so this is actually hard. I’m going to say @determamfidd‘s Sansukh, followed quickly by @alienfuckeronmain‘s Living After Midnight.

Rant or Gush about one thing you love or hate in the world of fanfiction! Go!

I love reading about other people’s perspectives and ideas about something I love. For example, in the Hobbit fandom, there’s this idea that Hobbits has intense sexual appetites and can have multiple orgasms, no matter the sex, because they’re such creatures of pleasure, and DUDE that lines up so well I’ve now adopted it as a headcanon. Just reading about the different ideas and tropes that pop up within fiction and get passed around actually makes me really excited and bonded to everyone else :D
