Which one's Cletus and which one's Roy? Only them and their parents are really sure, seeing as they're always together and normally get referred to by both their names or "the twins". They're movie buffs and know a bunch of sleazy horror films you've probably never heard of from the 80s. When they're not watching movies or helping the family on the farm, they're probably out camping, just the two of them.

Cletus and Roy live on a farmhouse with their parents, who are often traveling or out of town for work. As a result, they spent a good bit of their teenage years alone, or being watched by housesitters (mainly Swamp) keeping an eye on the farm. While the boys both help out on the farm, they're both layabouts by nature and don't have the same passion for it that their parents would like. Their passion lies in building rockets and improvised explosives, and they'd like to work for NASA one day helping send rockets into space...or whoever would pay them to blow up things, whichever comes first and is hopefully legal.

Cletus and Roy are both socially awkward and more intelligent with their hands than with their brains, much better suited to tasks that allow them to tinker or build rather than use their education. Both prone to truancy, they tend to skip school and head out to the quarry or an old abandoned factory where they work on rockets or just generally get up to mischief. They're very attached to each other and don't really seem to be interested in any relationships that separate them, so any potential ladies should probably also be twins if they want this to work out.

Hello! Welcome to the Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Papa Louie!!

My name is Miles (@sunsetcorvid ) and I am here to offer a tournament of the best Papa Louie character!!!

There are 204 characters in my google doc. A majority of which have flipdeck cards. This post may update before the tournament date with more characters without flipdeck cards. I will randomize pairs and put them against one another. All characters range from each Papa Louie game, and I mean each one.

Only one will remain.

There will not be a bracket, as there are many characters and it stresses me out trying to make something as big as that. So, it will be a surprise on which ones are paired up.

So, Universal has released a new Zappa album. This is a bunch of outtakes and sessions centered around Zappa's Waka Jawaka and Grand Wazoo big band sessions. The albums themselves were great, but this 4 hour love feast is even better, mainly because it is raw and edgy. Ditties include outtakes, a George Duke Demo and a live gig.

Where can I even begin?

First, Zappa was known to record material, then years later re-record entire parts. My guess was that his experimentalism sometimes got the best of him and at times he probably conceded that he didn't pull the right stuff out of the genius plebeians under his tutelage. What you hear on the mixed down Waka and Wazoo sessions is what happened when Zappa tamed it down, but this album, even with the clams and imperfections is as bizarre as it is funny, grooving and engaging.

All in all, I'm still absorbing the album. In addition, I want to buy the box set because there are probably a lot of interesting notes to read explaining lot's of back story, but let me give you a run down.

*I don't have the liners or personnel info, but let me do a blindfold test. If you've heard the album, please feel free to pipe in.

Your Mouth <- This version has raw crazy ass banter that didn't make the album. It's hilarious.

Big Swifty <- Because its a thoroughly composed piece, it's very interesting to compare the alternate mixes and takes to the verison on the album. Thanks to Apple Music, that's easy to do. There's a tight version of this on Zappa/Mothers: The Roxy Performances.

Minimal Art <- Aynsley Dunbar's drumming is over the top. In fact, you might even describe the entire box set at the Aynsley Dubnar show, especially in regards to the mix. This tune, if you're familiar with it is based on a repetitive bass motif. The band jams out Miles Davis style, and boy is it trippy.

Blessed Relief <- more trippy spacious Jazz with an element of Burt Bacharach on acid. I'm serious. Anyone disagree? It's mellow, yet off center.

Think It Over <- Really funky, but has this weird guy humming on top. Band really gets to jam out, and evolves (or devolves depending upon how you look at it) into some crazy Zappa style meshegas.

For Calvin <- More Zappa style off center avant garde Jazz from hell.

Waka/Jawaka <- This is one you just have to close your eyes and concentrate on. I'll leave it at that.

Cletus Awreetus-Awrightus <- a pastiche of motifs Kinda reminds me of the shape of things that would come circa "One Size Fits All".

Eat That Question <- Duke gets to bug out on keyboards. It's funky, it's cooking.. Zappa's band jamming out and cutting loose at its best.

Big Swifty <- an alternative mix. This song is a pastiche of thoroughly composed motifs that you have to pay close attention to. You're then taken to Zappa style fusion heaven.

For Calvin <- another version of this tune that's definitely a throwback to the Zappa's Mothers era.

It Just Might Be A One-Shot <- A bit of Captain Beefheart influence... very weird vocals includes a part sung with a Scandinavian accent. In eventually settles into a really cool Southern rock type jam, complete with the twangy guitar.

Waka/Jawaka <- tight horn driven zappa type Jazz from hell meets bebop thang. Great soloing. Love the bass.

Cletus Awreetus-Awrightus <- ***

Eat That Question <-- again, a bit of Jazzy keyboard heaven with a fuzzy psychedelic rock edge.

The next 7 tracks are a George Duke Demo. Sounds like a lot of Blackbyrds/Roy Ayers influenced crossover Jazz of the era, only with a weird Zappa/Duke influence. The session is a bit messy at times, but could have potentially been a killer release with a little cleaning up. Includes a killer version of Uncle Remus making you wonder if Duke was really the psychedelic Billy Preston.

LOVE was pre-released before the album dropped. Dunbar, who is otherwise the hero of this entire box set sounds like a somewhat messy or high version of Steve Gadd. You can tell he's sort of trying to find his groove with Duke. Getting to the Alphonse Mouzon thing. Maybe the album was recorded with intention of release, but that's what happened. Zappa thought it was too sloppy?

Psychosomatic Dunk is more typical of the pop/fusion/Jazz of the era... Final version of LOVE has the drummer a bit "tighter" and in the groove.

Next, the album goes to a bunch of live tracks. It includes Approximate, which definitely foreshadows stuff the Art Ensemble of Chicago would be known for. And on to the Winterland Ballroom Concert. The sound quality isn't quite up to par with the rest of the album (heck, it's live) but it is still worth it. Tunes range from hot cooking "free Jazz" type stuff and a really nice surprise: A horn fused big band version of Montana(!) Maybe the solos aren't as funky as the billion other versions in his catalogue, yet still, it's a really interesting version. Cosmik Debris is another Zappa staple that gets the big band treatment, and it is definitely INTERESTING to say the least. The horn arrangements on these two tunes sound more like Buddy Rich than Zappa, but maybe that's what makes it interesting.

Alas, the album ends with a real treat. An extended jam on the the quintessential Zappa anthem CHUNGA'S REVENGE. The band jams out similar to the way the used to on some of the better versions of KING KONG. We're talking an extended 18 minute Jam that puts a certain Iron Butterfly jam to shame. Zappa's solo is also quite interesting. I love the way the drums and bass are supporting him and how laid back, but funky the band is during the trumpet solo. As the jam evolves the rhythm section just heats up more and more. You can really feel and hear them listening to eat other. At the same time, the sound kinda reminds me of his Broadway The Hard Way Band with the Fowler Brothers (that I was lucky to see when I was 18!)

All in all, a great deal of the tunes on this album provide opportunity for Zappa and his band to cut loose the way only Zappa could. I don't think many people call Zappa "Jam Band" music (the term wasn't popular then), but that's pretty much what they're doing. Jamming their butts off. I'll add that the original Waka and Wazoo sessions were recorded almost 50 years ago. I initially listened in my teens, and here we are years after his death experiencing the music when the sessions could have potentially been lost in time. Boy do I feel happy and privileged.

Suddenly shaking his head, Cletus interrupted, "Wait, what was that about me and acting—?"

Behind Vil, Epel frantically gestured to abort by repeatedly slashing his hand across his neck.

"…You're referring to the first thing I mentioned, yes?" Vil deadpanned, somehow managing to make it look elegant. Cletus almost felt shame for once. Sighing, the blond housewarden clarified, "The Film Studies club is planning to compose a theater production. Alas, most of our actors are more suited for the screen — I'm certain you're knowledgeable about the differences between film acting and theater acting.

"In any case, I searched through a few auspicious individuals' backgrounds…" Vil trailed off, his hand placed delicately underneath his chin, "And I happened upon the Aite twins' history with musical theater."

Oh.

Cletus flushed, waving his hands around in front of him in a panic, "Aha, no no no. You've got the wrong g— Um. Well, you do have the right guy, but I don't.. do that anymore—" He stammered, an anxious smile creeping up to his face.

"Quelle malchance! That's such a shame," Exclaimed a melodramatic Rook, who then raised a gloved hand to his lips suspiciously. "Are you absolutely positive, however? I distinctly recall querying Roi de Ta Chambre about your performing abilities… You generally enjoy attention, no?"

Querying.. who? Cletus didn't really get any of what Rook said, but he found himself feeling pity for whoever the hunter must've cornered to get that info.

"Well, why don't you ask Cleonn to do it? This is totally unfair!" Cletus huffed, avoiding the question.

Vil sighed, tucking a strand of hair behind his ear. "Unfortunately, your housewarden hadn't a lot to say about your brother. Cleonn seems to have actually moved on from performing, but you…" He trailed off, inadvertently coming off as sinister in Cletus' perspective.

Huh? His housewarden? What did he have to do with...

Meekly clearing his throat, Epel chimed in from behind the older two Pomefiore students. His wide eyes told Cletus that he understood the dread of being cornered like an animal; and that he was trying his best to get Cletus out of the situation. Cletus internally burst into tears of gratitude, offering to do anything Epel wanted in return.

"Um, maybe you could just do an audition? Just— Just to see if you're fit for the.. role that Vil needs," Epel suggested with a smile, earning a hum of consideration from his upperclassman.

Cletus stared at Epel in disbelief.

His bright amber irises bore into the poor first-year's soul, causing Epel to laugh anxiously and flutter his hands wildly in dismissal of his own idea, "I mean, you don't have to, of course! I just meant that, uh, y-you could compromise and audition and if Vil doesn't like it then—"

"No, no; your idea was brilliant, Epel," Vil interrupted, "It's the perfect way to gauge Cletus' skill, as well as his compatibility with the vision we're aiming for. It also leaves room for our potential star to back out, unlike if.. Rook were to pull some strings for me… It's a much fairer arrangement, I admit." He hummed with a nod, a hand on his chin in thought. The blond glanced at Cletus, extending the 'offer' wordlessly.

Cletus smiled his biggest, toothy smile — as fake as he could manage. "I really haven't kept up with anything like this in a while… I'm rusty…" His attempt at an indirect rejection was not effective.

"Nonsense! Please refrain from speaking such drivel, Monsieur Juvenile!" Rook exclaimed, moving to stand beside Cletus before draping an arm over the shorter boy's tense shoulders. "Performing in the limelight is akin to riding a bike! Beautiful Vil has set his expectations for you because he has seen promise; it would be an affront to not even try!"

Vil waved off Rook's dramatics, fully turning to face Cletus. "If what you say about being out of practice, then wouldn't that make this a learning experience? On top of that, consider the amount of opportunities that could open up for you," He put a hand on his hip to assert his confidence in his choice to 'recruit' Ignihyde's black sheep. "There's a fire in your eyes, Cletus. I'm certain there's part of you that wishes to channel all the negativity in your student life into something more performative; something people would pay attention to. Won't you finally give yourself the chance to achieve something someone of your caliber deserves?" A gloved hand stretched out toward Cletus.

To call the offer tempting would be a severe understatement. And yet…

"Ah, well…" Cletus cleared his throat, gazing at Vil's hand as he fidgeted with his own, "Um…" He stole a glance at a worried Epel, as well as an expectant Rook; he didn't have the backbone to check how Vil was probably staring him down like a hawk. "I.. I'm sorry, but—"

"Idia! You got him into this! The least you could do is extend some moral support!"

Cletus stopped in his tracks, lips practically zipping shut as he heard the commotion directly on the other side of the door. Epel peeked past his two seniors, tilting his body slightly as he looked at the doorway. "Is that Ortho?" He asked, receiving a murmur from Vil.

"I-It's not my fault! Rook basically ganked me the other day by the dorm entrance! Our dorm, Ortho! I can't even catch a break in the comfort of my own base!"

The second voice, while still audible, was definitely trying to whisper. 'Trying' being the keyword — considering the speaker was loud enough to be heard through the door, he likely did not try hard enough. The two individuals outside continued to bicker, where one was reprimanding the other who only tried his best to escape the situation.

"Oh, for fuck's sake." Cletus muttered to himself, feeling his heart rate start to increase.

Vil made a face of disapproval, presumably at Cletus' vulgar language, but it quickly morphed into one of surprise as a frenzied Cletus practically jumped in front of him.

The voices on the other side grew louder — closer to the door — and Cletus' panicked demeanor grew stronger. The teal-haired imp put his hands together and looked up at Vil with wide, anxious eyes, "Please get me out of here. Hide me. Anything." He begged, a forced smile etched on his features.

The Pomefiore housewarden's eyebrows lifted slightly, intrigued, "Oh? May I ask why?"

"Wh-What do you expect me to do once we're inside, anyway?! I can't just 'SoRe wA chiGAu yO!' Vil!"

"Just apologize and say you made a mistake! I don't think Cletus likes being cornered any more than you do. Now come on, Idia."

"NonoNONO, ORTHO, WAIT—"

Cletus bit back a yelp as the door rattled slightly. He turned back to Vil and nodded desperately, "I'll do it! I'll act in your stupid play— I'll even sing! In all of your stupid plays! Just hide me from Idia, please! He can't see me like this, I look—"

Vil raised his hand, temporarily silencing Cletus' rambling. "You'll commit? To all of our future productions as well?"

"Yes! I will! Anything you need from me!"

A faint lavender glow seemed to emit from Vil's eyes as he smiled and extended his hand toward Cletus once more, this time without his uniform's glove. He turned to Rook and spoke quietly, not taking his eyes off of Cletus. "Take note of this. Get this agreement in writing as soon as possible." Rook nodded immediately in response.

In spite of his confusion, Cletus took Vil's hand without a second thought as Vil's smile grew slightly wider. With a deep breath, he uttered:

Cletus deadpanned at the screenplay in his hands, the casting page open. Expressionless, he silently glowered at his name written adjacent to a 'Michael Mell.'

"Nothing to lose, nothing to fear. The shining crown is meant for me. Fairest One Of All," He declared as Cletus frantically glanced at the door, "Cletus Aite shall turn invisible until Idia Shroud steps outside of this room."

Vil must have had a sick sense of humor.

The Doom Patrol must battle against a transformed General Immortus as well as the Brotherhood of Evil in Unstoppable Doom Patrol #7. After learning the history of why Charles Walker III hates John Henry, a Genesis powered Steel Suit attacks the city in Steelworks #5. Oliver deals with old Oliver, while Roy and Dinah continue to search for Oliver and the other missing family members in Green Arrow #5. Red Hood is out for Scarecrows blood as he is caught in the crossfires as Batman tries to save him and Catwoman furthers her agenda in Batman/Catwoman: The Gotham War – Red Hood #2. When Alan Scott seeks out the Crimson Flame, it has devastating consequences in his future in Alan Scott: The Green Lantern #1. When the Queen Nubia meets with the President of the United States, things get worse in Amazons Attack #1. Clark battles a fake Superman, while the Super-Twins get into a fight at school in Action Comics #1058. As the Azmer continues to take over Batman’s mind, Arzen is able to capture Batman at the Wayne family grave in Detective Comics #1075. Flash deals with forces beyond this reality because of Grodd’s meddling with the multiverse in The Flash #2. In the past, Diana faces a warrior for the right to be the Champion to enter Man’s World, while in the present Wonder Woman faces off against Steve Trevor and an army big enough to take over a small country in Wonder Woman #2. All this plus, DC News, Shout Outs, and much, much more!

Dr. Cletus Georges graduated from Andrews University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Zoology with a Biomedical option in 1997. Dr. Georges then attended Cornell University Medical College and graduated in 1991. He completed my residency in Urology at Northwestern University McGaw Medical Center in 1997. He started my practice in Sebring, Fl in August 1997 until December 1998. He then relocated to Orlando, Florida and worked with Mid Florida Urological Associates until 2014. His practice was acquired by Florida Hospital Medical Group where he worked until June of 2017. More recently, he had been doing temp work at the Dorn VA Medical Center Columbia, SC

“What is the main cast of Dirty South’s favorite alcoholic beverages?”

Most of them are admittedly stereotypical.

Nico will drink just about anything, but he prefers whiskey. He drinks mainly bottom shelf mixed in sweet tea.

Swamp also prefers whiskey, but he tends to have a bit of “taste” to him and prefers middle shelf, straight.

Rufus doesn’t drink, as it agitates his schizophrenia symptoms.

Crowe doesn’t drink much anymore, as he used to have a problem, but when he does drink he’ll have a beer, sometimes whiskey & tea with Nico.

Ganymede mostly drinks beer. He rarely drinks liquor, as he can get belligerent on it.

Lucky doesn’t drink a lot, and he has no preference, he’ll drink what’s given to him. He prefers to smoke, though.

 Tuscon will drink anything but prefers tequila.

Pewter likes overproof rums, things that are strong.

Moonpie likes wine, but will drink whatever is bought for him.

 Cletus and Roy like hard seltzers, but rarely drink.

Tros loves a good homemade brandy or moonshine.

Duke will drink anything. Anything. He prefers everclear, though, or any 151 proof. 

Ulysses likes beer and Irish whiskey.

Nero mainly drinks cocktails.

Rodney likes Irish too, sometimes scotch.

Adel likes dark rums.

Colt likes top shelf "bourbons", those rare limited release items. He drinks them with whiskey rocks, straight.

Ruger likes New Jersey Turnpikes off the drink mats at the bar.

Merle likes beers too, especially the $1 and $2 beers at the bar.
