Code log šµāš«
WEDNESDAY - NOV 22, 2023 - STREAK DAY 2 š„
Hello!
Today I finished the "Sign Up form" website from yesterday, I add new features, like, a pattern checking for the phone number and used a little of JS to check if the two passwords match, also added some style for when they don't.
Phone number pattern. It is a html <input> property,
Here's a demo of how the password check works.
After finishing this project, I went to reading about CSS grid, that is a layout system that allow us to create complex layouts. I'm only at the beginning, so I don't have much to say about it yet.
That's it, I just want to say that I want to use more JS šš. Also, I'm happy I'm posting early today. I'm So proud of me :)

Morning python study log 03-11-2023
So these days I have started to stream my code study.
So today morning I learnt:
How to take absolute value. Found some anomaly in the system lol. Basically it was not taking abs() but fabs() however my python was the latest version
I studied how to sort three numbers in python, although I have done this in other language since the syntax of python is still foreign to me I had difficulty sorting them in ascending order and also descending order using the built in function sorted() and also making my own implementation
I understood what is range function and how to use it with for loops, had a bit of hit and miss while understanding how it really worked but google's bard helped, I also learnt about reverse sorting
I learnt what is interning while trying to understand the difference between identity operators and equality operators. Found some anomaly in my system again, that my computer's range of interning is much larger than what is documented ?
I learnt what is keyword argument when with using reverse built in sort, yeah so I was amazed that the order of arguments didn't mattered for keyword argument.
I was also confusing syntax of python with javascript since that is what is what recently code in.
Learnt about what does len() function does, like properly rather than just guessing about what it does.
understood about control statements such as if, else and elif
learnt about break and continue in loops in python which is same as java script.
learnt about how to check the divisibility of a number. I didn't knew that it was separate topic in my syllabus I just thought it was something people would knew.
Learnt the basics about on how to make a READ , EVAL PRINT LOOP, REPL
Learnt about stupid pattern program in python, I don't know why the heck they still teach these things and put it in syllabus. There is no real world use of it as far as I can see. I still have to post the notes about it in my blogs and store it my cloud drive.
Learnt how to do a summation of series, using and not using numpy.
figured out how to do a factorial of a number
was trying to make an short algorithm on how to do the fibonacci series but well, I was so sleepy that my mind didn't worked as it should, I took the hint from bard then felt bad that I was directly looking at the solution when rather I should sleep and approach the problem from afresh in next study stream. So stopped my study stream.

So D&D black dragons are supposed to live in swamps, right? Pretty amphibious, live in swamps, lair in...
caves. With a main entrance and a back entrance.
In swamps.
I really have trouble with the idea that there's these dragon-sized caves in an area with such a high water table, y'know? We have to go through miles of swamp to reach this lair, it's not one little boggy place in a mountain valley otherwise filled with nice caves. And the cave has to have two entrances, too? I can believe in dragons, but not this geology.
So... maybe it's not geology. Because a lair in a marshy place with exacting design specifications sounds a lot like a totally natural thing --
A beaver lodge.
So now I have this new image of black dragons industriously gnawing down giant trees to construct their mighty swamp lairs, and I am so much happier.
#thesupersquirrel#is not subscribing to my idea#(he's gm'ing this one)#disclaimer: i never really liked D&D's color-coded dragons#but picturing a young dragon paddling a new log over to its lair makes me happier#beaver dragons#dungeons and dragons#d&d#dungeons and beavers#swamps and dragons#the Z team#drqgon ecology

What actually makes us shift?

Nothing. Yup you heard that right. Literally nothing makes us shift. You don't even have to try to shift, to shift. People have shifted even when they didn't know about shifting. They have shifted even when they didn't believe in shifting. People have shifted regardless of what they see, think or feel. The question is how? You think, "When I'm trying so hard how can they all shift so easily?"
Because it's our nature. It's incorporated in our being. It's our existence. You can't try to be something you already are. I don't think you understand properly. Shifting for our brain is the same as breathing is for our body. It is the way things are. It's that easy. The only reason you think it's not is because you're conditioned to believe that way. The good thing is shifting doesn't require belief. It requires your existence. And you're existing aren't you? That's all you need.
Nothing else matters. Nothing else can ever stop you. Because even if you think you're not shifting to your DR, you're shifting to a reality where you haven't shifted to your DR (yet). Awareness is always shifting. Your awareness is always switching between realities. The question is, is your conscious mind able to realise that? That you're constantly shifting? Without your conditioned beliefs coming in the way? Can you?
The only thing you need to do is know. I say that quite a lot. And I don't mean that know that you'll shift. It doesn't even have to mean that know that you're in your DR (even tho you are). It's just the realisation that no matter what you think or feel, shifting is something you're always doing. You're always existing. No matter where.
That's all you need. Forget about being in your DR for a second. Forget about trying any method. Sit with yourself right now. Look around you. Feel your breathing. That's shifting. This is what shifting is. Not the symptoms, not a sudden change in the physical plane. Just breathing. Going from one breath to another. Changing awareness with your breaths. This is how easy it is.
Return to your core because that's all there is. From a moment to a moment. That's you. That's how you shift. Don't look at the physical plane as rigid or think why isn't it changing. Breath and know that change is not something you do but something you be.
So trust yourself. Trust that you can shift because really, that's what you've been doing all your life. Shifting is not something you discovered. Shifting is a realisation of already being. There is no shift greater than you and no method stronger than you. A creation cannot escape it's creator. Shifting is your birthright and it was always will be.
Now, stop holding on to something that is literally you. You're grasping shifting desparately, wanting and full of need. It's not going anywhere. It's you. It goes where you go. Does what you do. It's yours to hold, to cradle gently and experience. You're the root it grows from. As long as you're here, it'll grow and grow and grow. With you. For you. As far as you want. Shifting and you are the same being. One cannot exist without the other.
Realise, be and shift.

so like. if anyone else, like me, still has the occasional fanfic they follow on fanfiction.net, and hasn't been getting the update emails for the longest time and was wondering if ti meant the site is on its last legs
no
no they've done something stupid as fuck
you have to opt back in to getting the emails/notifications of new chapters every six months, because they automatically assume you don't want to know when the fics you followed for the updates have updated
#for fucks saaaaaaake#now i have to go back thorugh all the fics i follow to see if they've updated in the last like year#ffn why are you doing this#this is the shit that drives ppl to ao3#and for the record i don't like ao3 purely because somehow ffn still has the better accessible reading options on its base site#without requiring you to log in and find [or code your own] site skin. it's just on the base site.#dark/light mode and increasing text size on a fanfic archive should not be a logged-in members-only coding-required thing

This was part of my undergrad illustration thesis, which was illustrations to accompany the text of Shakespeare's The Tempest, repurposing aesthetics and imagery from the rural New Hampshire village where I grew up.
Reposting this piece from May 2020, because it is now available as a print, and Tumblr is being weird about letting me edit the original post to add alt text and a link.

no cause i think one of the reasons any life series ship with grian is automatically so ironically stingingly tragic is that it's /his game/.
like putting aside the watchers for a second, grian created the life series. this is /his/ death game, his circus his monkeys. sure, when the person closest to him inevitably dies some gruesome death at his own hands, the pain in his chest still makes him want to jump off a cliff, run face first into a warden, fall a couple hundred blocks and splat, but...
it's still. /his game/.
when other players lose their teammate, it's tragic for them because their friend got ripped from them in an instant and there's nothing they can do. when grian loses someone close to him, it's all /his fault./ he made this game, he wrote the code, he said "if this then that if player gets ripped to shreds in a cactus pit, falls off a bridge in the sky, blows up in our own tower, then they die".
he just. never thinks he's gonna be the one to do it.
he knows it's just a game, he knows he can just hop back on hermitcraft and see his friends alive and well and not shredded splatted blown to pieces.
he just.
his game. his friends. his hands.
gets him every time.
#c's not cc's#orbviously imo#hi yes this is creative writing im not actually blaming grian for playing a game#this was written kind of from his perspective. at least at the end. a bit. if that makes any sense#also i know i said āhe wrote the codeā and ālog on hermitcraftā let me restate#CEES NOT CEECEES#characters not content creators#i had a really hard time getting my idea into words mainly cause i forgot my first idea and had a second one halfway through#so#if it feels. idk weird#probably why#if someone else wants to make this make sense feel free#oh yeah i should probably. tag this huh#ew#sjhgsdg#grian#grian hermitcraft#hermitcraft#hermitcraft grian#hermitblr#life series#life series smp#life smp#trafficblr#traffic life#the life series#third life#life series spoilers#i mean. i fucken guess#tags tags tags

since sniper's parents and their farm are in the literal middle of nowhere and are based of courage the cowardly dog I like to believe some crazy shit happened (call it OVNIS, cryptids, ghosts, etc).
at first he was terrified, I mean, he was a kid (and even if he wasn't if I was alone in the middle of nowhere, at night, taking care of a farm and I saw the glowing eyes of a tall figure staring directly at me I would shit myself in the best case scenario), but from time to time, he got more used to it, specially since his parents seem surprisingly used to those weird events and how to deal with them.
that's why in the description of the cards is written "half alien observer"; sniper's a sucker for conspiracy theories/paranormal stories, mainly because he has experienced some weird shit he cannot explain even after trying to find the most logical explanation - validation maybe.
demo is more vocal about his stories (because he seems to be a magnet to these ocurrences too, even more than the aussie) while sniper speaks about if he's closer to the person he's speaking to, and when they hang out they talk about them.

Past weeks summary š
Hi again!!
These past weeks were a bit confusing for me, but I managed to do some things.
Well, first, I decided that I'm taking a break from one of the courses I'm currently enrolled in (42 Ʃcole; maybe I'll write a post about it later). Actually, I hadn't been actively working on, but since the course has a limited time to be finished, I was concerned. By officially taking a break, my timer for completion pauses and I can focus my mind In other topics without worrying. I'm pausing the course because it doesn't primarily focus on web development, and my current priority is web development. So I'll finish this course later.
The Odin Project (TOP) Overview
So, the course I'm mainly focusing is the TOP. Why ?? Well, I think this course in web dev matches best my actual goals.
I'm only at the begging, but as the time passes, I fell like I'm advancing faster. My plan is to finish in the first semester of 2024.
Although I'm only at the beginning, I've learned so much, can't wait for the next modules!
Lored's Markdown
The project I worked these weeks was the "Lored's Markdown", project from my friend @guz013, he invited me to do this project with him, I'm enjoying and learning a lot.
I'm only doing the front end of the website, but it was very fun. The idea is to make a banner generator for markdown, for people to use on projects descriptions and things like this.
Doing this was very rewarding, I learned a lot about design and responsivity.
Sorry for being "a little" off,
That's it, these past weeks weren't the most productive, but I'm glad I spent some time doing useful stuff.
I also spent some time "creating" a planning and organizing system for myself. I've incorporated this into my daily journal on Notion and I like this approach. Maybe I'll write a post about planning and organizing later, because it is helping me a lot.
Also, I miss posting šæ, why do I tend to stop things I like :/ ?
This song kinda tells something about me right now.

Due to recent experiences, I am feeling an urge to make an anti-drug-style PSA except it's warning impressionable machine-learning-curious teens to never, ever try a thing called "Huggingface transformers Trainer"
Not. Even. Once.
#and don't even get me started on āunslothā#this week i learned what āunslothā actually does when you import it and... man.#i thought i'd seen the worst of āhacky brittle 'it-just-works' (by doing the most cursed shit imaginable) ML python codeā but no.#no. unsloth was Worse#and huggingface Trainer is bad enough by itself#did you know it has 131 (one hundred and thirty one!) config arguments and yet it cannot log *more than one loss number at once*#(for like multitask training or whatever)#i don't just mean it's hard to do - i mean its logging mechanism is built from the ground up on the assumption you would never do this.#you'd have to rewrite a bunch of internals to get it working - i.e. basically write a new nontrivial feature on HF's behalf#and just writing your own damn training loop is easier than that lol#it's not that hard kids. take it from me. dataset + dataloader + model(*args) + loss.backward() + opt.step() + opt.zero_grad(). that's it#it'll take you 30 minutes and save you a billion hours down the road#i do not understand computers#(is a category tag)

I've been itching to dive into something totally new and outside of my usual web dev comfort zone! After brainstorming for a while, I finally landed on a brilliant new project idea: building my very own desktop widget~!Ā
Now, full disclosureāI have zero idea where to even start when it comes to programming a widget, but thatās where the fun comes in, right? Iām all about learning new things (I have an addiction to studying soā¦)~!
In this post however, Iāll be sharing my initial ideas for the widget and brainstorming what tech stack might bring this amazing idea to life~!Ā
Prior knowledge on desktop widgets?
All I know is that they stick to the desktop area and some even always in front of the other windows. Thatās all I know!
Widget Idea
So, the project idea Iāve chosen is something simple, just so I can get used to making widgets: a notepad. But, itās not just any plain notepad widgetāitās going to have an aesthetic color scheme! (I know, pretty cool, right?) I really wanted to keep things basic for this first project.
The inspiration actually came from a Pinterest pin that I saved. I think the design is originally from a color palette generator website, but I want to take that concept and turn it into an actual desktop widget. Thus this project was born!
Tech Stack
Alright, I liedāI'm not entirely stepping out of my comfort zone for this one! I'll be using ReactJS, a technology Iām super comfortable with and absolutely love. But to keep things fresh and challenging, Iām diving into something new as well!
After researching (thank you, ChatGPT, Google, and YouTube), I found out there are plenty of ways to build a desktop application, or in this case, a widget. You can go with WinForms, WPF, Tauri (Rust), Qt, and others. But I wanted to stick closer to JavaScriptāspecifically something I could pair with ReactJS. So, ElectronJS seemed like the best fit.
For this project, my tech stack will be:
ReactJS (JavaScript)
ElectronJS (JavaScript)
SCSS (for those extra styling powers)
HTML (obviously)
Visual Studio Code (with a lovely brown theme š§ø)
Toward the end of the project, Iāll also explore how to package the widget so people can download and install it on their own computers, and how to store the notes locally!
Finally
As I post this I am going to start the project so I will soon post updates! (This is where I failā¦!)
