In an incredibly but unsurprisingly “timely” manner I finally started working on my @codex-week project 🤣😅

@codex-week Day 6 - Nightmares/Insomnia

It was such a strange phenomenon: on the battlefield or on Kamino, sleep came so easily for him. Yet here, on Coruscant in some cheaply bought hotel, it was nigh on impossible for Rex to close his eyes for a minute before he's up and about again. It was - in Cody's opinion - a miracle he hadn't worn through the carpet with his pacing yet.

Announcing the Creature Codex Art Challenge!

Inspired by a conversation with @doomboy911 . I figure that, with almost 1900 monsters in the Creature Codex, there's enough fodder for a full 30 Day Art Challenge.

The categories are chosen so that they represent a wide variety of monsters, and are relatively easy to find via the Index and the tagging system. I will be following the #codexartchallenge tag, and will be reblogging stuff that people post.

Today, when I came back to my room, my lost equipment was on the table with silly note next to it!

I want to properly thank Virida for spending her free time just to find it.

First line I wrote today:

Cody's head pounds in time with the sound of beating on the door of the room above them.

Rex is smiling at him. Cody pauses his spiral of questions.

"What?"

"Nothing. I've just missed this. Missed you."

"Rex, we have to -"

Rex kisses him.

Cody pulls away. "Why are you trying to shut me up? I thought you said you missed this."

"Maybe I missed shutting you up too."

These hours are always the darkest, cold and silent. They give me far too much time to think of what could have been had you chosen differently all that time ago. Had I not clenched your fingers, revealing I was far more afraid of the path you wanted for yourself than I let on, what would we be conversing about today?

I knew you’d pass that final challenge. There was no way you wouldn’t have. Yet, there was a lingering sense of fear. The fear of losing something that had become precious to me in such a short space of time.

I was selfish then, just as I am selfish now. While I know the loss of Lichdom often crossed your mind, I know you would never have backtracked once Elsa arrived, even less so when Oskar was born. I can picture how you would be looking at me if you could hear these thoughts, you’d remind me that you’d never swap this life for Lichdom. You’d gather me in your arms and kiss me, thank me for our children and the love I give you.

But still, I miss you, and the hole your passing left aches in these dark, lonely hours. And I am reminded there is a path where I might still have had you here. You are my eternal flame, my heart and soul, and I await our reunion in the next life.

I love Nanna so much. She's a beautiful, vibrant character and I think that kindness and goodness at the core of a time that it's hard to find either is an inspiring storyline. You're a great writer. But on top of that, your interactions with the community are a wild ride. I love watching y'all do your thing.

Last Line Game 6/1

I just saw @notyourmamasdeerbat last line game post, and for the first time in literal years, I’m actually writing something! So here’s a (mildly) spicy little wip snippet!

I know exactly where this fic is going, but now I have to pace it out (I started with 3,000 words and no sleep the first night, the muses really came in with the steel chair)…

I’m genuinely bad at tag games, so if you have something you’re working on and you see this, tag you’re it!

Emmrich stopped him with a kiss, slow and deep. Sabine, trapped between them, pushed her hips back and slid a hand to press at Lucanis. Both men let out soft noises of pleasure, and in a tangle of limbs they managed to stumble into Lucanis’ suite and even closed the door again.

First/Last Line Challenge

I've been very slow to respond (🥺) but thank you for the various First and Last Line (and both!) tags, my lovely friends(!!):

The FIRST line I drew was the top of the cuisse/thigh plate. Yes, it's horribly cropped, but I'm trying to not give too much away 😏

Heh heh knocker. I want to keep learning different styles so for this I made a tile piece you might find in a exploration focused game. I was going to complicate the tiles but the I got consumed with the stardew valley update. Great eyes, great mouth very happy overall.
