Okay KISSblr

Listen... I have this vision for a KISS sona but executing the idea is much harder due to horrid horrid art block rn. The makeup resembles moth wings down the face much like Eric Carr's early "The Hawk" makeup but each wing is separated like Gene's makeup.

The moth wings would spread out at the ends. Now also the struggle is deciding a kind of moth to base the wing aspect off of as well.

I'm tossing lunar moth and a few others back and fourth in my head

I'm contemplating a color pallet as well. I'm not wanting to copy the Spaceman's (my beloved) makeup and use silver as the base and I'm thinking this will be a male character to put this on... Can I get some help makeup wise...

Goes by Luna or Lunar, doesn’t matter, he/she/they/it, also doesn’t matter, doesn’t have any preference, it’s moreso what the kids preference is. Around seven feet tall (same height I hc sun/moon to be)

No mouth, obv, so she doesn’t talk, but she does have a music box. Moreso geared towards special needs kids (deaf and mute typically) and uses sign language

More night themed (like color wise) but they’re there to help all the time, not just when the lights are out.

One more list of backround character palisman choices

Some spoilers for season 3

Pairing palisman to witches has been one of my favorite things to do in The Owl House fandom. I have done about 3 lists so far.  A “first guess list” I did pre-Hunting Palisman (Amity and Mary the sheep horned abmination student were the only ones I got right). Then a list involving the palisman that did not go home with witches in “Hunting Palisman”. My third list was one I did for all the adult characters, based on their personalities and headcannons some of their actor’s had given. Well in honor of Stringbean hatching I want to make a fourth list for all the teenager’s/young adults whom we have not yet seen with palisman.

Amber’s palisman: A fruit bat. I have seen some people in the fandom nickname the youngest of the bard trio “baby bat” due to her ears, fangs, and wings. I love this, so I want to keep that little theme going with her palisman also being a bat. I piked a fruit bat just because I think their little fox-like faces are cute

Derwin’s palisman: A Newt, possibly a firebelly newt for its cool look and rebel sounding name. So I really want the the original 4 BATT’s to all have a different type of animal palisman. Raine’s voice actor already said Raine would have a penguin (a bird), Katya has a herculean beetle (an insect), and above I said Amber would get a fruit bat ( a mammal). Then that means that Derwin should get either a reptile or an amphibian. I am going to reference Amphibia here: I headcannon Derwin as being most intelligent of his trio (Katya being the caring one, and Amber being the brave one) because he wears glasses and his name is super similar/derived from that of a famous scientist.  And in Amphibia the newts were the scholarly race

Blight Twins. Okay so originally I wanted all three of the blight siblings to have cats, with Emira having a black cat and Edric having either a gray one or a tabby. Then that turned into Emira still having a cat but Edric instead having a small dog. But earlier today I saw the tweet that said the writers wanted to give the twins a butterfly and a moth. Which is funny because in my adult witch list I said that if the little brown rat was not Alador’s paliman, then he should have a lunar moth palisman. Now I am just imagining ghost with a gaggle of bugs, rodent’s, and Stringbean, who’s default form is a snake... All animals cats usually try and hunt/catch, but these ones are her family. lol.

Moving on, the person said that the reason we haven’t seen the twins with the two bugs is that they crew cold not decide which twin should get the moth and which twin should get the butterfly. Well choosing to believe them, I can decide: Emira gets the moth. Edric gets the butterfly. Now let’s talk breeds.

Emira Blight: A prometheus moth. It took approximately 5-10 seconds for me to pick this breed of moth for Emira. Prometheus moth’s are brown feathered moths with eye like images painted on to the back of their wings. Emira is such a watchful person. She does so much to try and take care of Ed and Amity. In season 2 she honestly seemed like the closest thing her siblings had to an involved parent. I think it would really cool if she got a prometheus moth that literally had eyes on the back of its wings, and it either followed just behind her or sat on her scalp, and was treated like Emira having eyes in the back of her head.

Edric Blight: A red spotted purple butterfly. They are actually blue with black edges and orange spots. They look kinda like blue Monarch butterflies. In contrast to his sister, just looking through butterfly breeds on google to find him one did nothing but overwhelm me. So to try and cut it down I decided I wanted to give him a blue butterfly, since he has blue magic. There are like 50+ types of blue butterflies, but I found the red spotted purple butterfly petty high on the list and picked it. It has three colors to its wings, just like Ed has three track colors on his school uniform. 2 of its colors even match 2 of Ed’ tracks. So a red spotted purple butterfly is Edric’s butterfly.

Matt Tholomule: a white Rat. So a rat was my original pick for him just because after 1x09 the fandom kept referring to him as “the construction rat”. Now that we have seen more of his skills and personality, the animal just continues to suit him more. Rat’s are, sneaky, good at building, really smart (seriously rats are actually incredibly smart rodents.) and fast little creatures. I say with all the love in the world that  Matt is a rat gremlin. Originally I was going to pick out a breed of rat that was black or dark grey to match Matt’s color scheme better... Then I realized that that would look similar to Micky Mouse. No. Adrian Graye, who was written as a vessel for the creators to express their disgust/frustration for Disney’s producers, is the only character who a Micky Mouse palisman works with. Give Matt a white rat that looks nothing like Micky.

Steve: Hedgehog palisman for Steve. He was on my last list, where I suggested a scorpion palisman. I have since been unsatisfied with that choice and want to change it to a hedgehog (I will give all the Tholomule’s rodent’s). I looked at its meanings and a hedgehog is literally perfect for Steve. A hedgehog is a tough little creature but also non aggressive, so is Steve. Totem wise they are seen as vessels for positivity, and Steve likes to cheer for people. But also a creature who likes peaceful outings. Europeans view them as representations of victory over evil forces, which can be represented with Steve choosing to walk away from the Emperor’s coven when he no longer believed in The Emperor’s rule.

Vee Noceda: A mocking bird. Oh y’all thought I wouldn’t include Luz’s siblings on this list? No chance. I have seen more fan art on Tumblr of Vee with Stringbean than Luz. So many people have been commenting about how the egg hatched into a mythical creature that is so similar to a basilisk, and how flattered Vee will feel when she meets her sister’s new pet. Guys Stringbean is Luz’s. Vee needs her own palisman. I did want to give her something that could learn to mimic other creatures similar to how Vee does. I also thought about birds, because Vee mentions playing with Masha and a flock of birds at camp in one of her letters to Camila. Put both of those concepts together and you get Vee with a little mocking bird palisman.

King Clawthorne: A bunny. He can have one too, once he gets old enough to take care of it. I am sticking with my first idea that once King becomes old enough to outgrow Francois he gets himself a bunny palisman to be his little buddy instead.

The Collector: A multicolored parrot. Yeah if King was going to be on this list then his new baby brother had to be next. Anyone who has watched 3x02 can see how at his core the collector is just a lonely little kid who is afraid of being alone. If you know about Parrots you know that they are long living birds who develop close bonds with their owners to the point where they want to be by their side always. A parrot could spend all day every day playing with the Collector and they would both love it.

Hunter: Well of course the first thing I want to know is if, since he has flapjack’s spirit, can he carve a new palisman body for Flap and put him into it. In “Hunting Palisman’s” Hunter said he wished he could chose his life for himself, and that bonded him to Flapjack. Well in “Thanks to Them” almost everything he said he would like to do with his life involved palisman. He still needs one and there is no room left in the show for him to mourn Flapjack and get to a point where it is believable that he would be ready to get/make a new palisman.

But let’s say that either A.) It is possible for Hunter to carve Flapjack a new body and he carves something other than a cardinal, deciding that both he and Flapjack should have knew looks for their new lives. Or B.) the Owl house gets spin off material and somewhere down the road we get a comic of Hunter going through the process of mourning Flapjack, and coming to terms with what happened. Then eventually getting to a stage where carving a new palisman wouldn't be to painful. I have seen a lot of people suggest a wolf. That good, but I want to suggest on final tribute to his fallen friend’s old forum. A black/dark brown wolf with red feathered wings. Palisman do not have to look exactly like the animals they are based off, and so far canine palisman haven’t. The green skinned fang kid has a unisus wolf, and Jarbo has a unicorn dog. So why should Hunter carve a plain old wolf when he could do a black and red Pegasus wolf?

What inspired the creation of Actia?

ooo a tmi about my oc!! tysm foodie! actia is based entirely on me, the mun, and lunar moths! when i grew up i was very afraid of butterflies and moths, they were cute but anything flying sent me into a panic! haha! im very much like actia, i do tarot readings, my favorite color combo is her palette and i tried making a "what if i was a changeling" into reality! her pony form is basically me but if the hair is black, including shaved eyebrows because i have a major interest in makeup art! i made her themed off of lunar moths because 1. inner healing of a teensy fear, 2. ive seen one in person/had one chilling at my window, and 3. changelings are bugged themed!! i lovveee changelings, anytime i made a "sona" in games i always chose big alien eyes and looked as non human as possible, aliens are up my alley!

Week 0:

Many Felicitations,

I have arrived safely in Lastbarrow, and it is everything our administrators said it would be and more. I had no idea just how much of the world was out there. I know Professor Westcott tried to teach me how large mountains were, but nothing could prepare me for the sight of the one the village sits at the base of. It seems as if it wants to overtake the sky! I feel silly now for thinking they were no taller than the towers in High Rannoc, but the academy was the only world I knew of, and that world was the smallest it could be.

Still I shall try to forgive myself for being naive, Professor Ardunn always tried to remind me that inexperience was not the same as ignorance and I shall do well to remember it. The kindness of her guidance, stern as it was, has carved itself alongside the memories of the kindness of you all. And so I have resolved myself to write frequently of my time here. Mayhaps the correspondence will make the distance seem less so.

The village itself is welcoming, quiet, nestled between a swath of forest and hills leading up to a snowy mountain. And a river port on the northwest corner, which helps keep the local industry flowing. There apparently is a decent trade to be made among miners and loggers and any business adjacent to that. And while not boasting of any sites for tourists, Lastbarrow does see its share of foot traffic of the ley wanderer.

The administrators at the local hall of governance, they call them ‘Dorfhaus’s here, we’re very kind in pointing out key locations on the map AMIHR provided me, not just the cottage the last witch held, but the best places in the surrounding area to forage for reagents. They also pressed upon me how grateful they were of my coming, there hasn’t been a village witch in at least 30 years, and their doctor is close to retiring. It will surely take some time for me to fully establish and integrate myself, but their appreciation for my presence solidifies that it was a fortuitous moment when I nibbled on that artifact, no matter how much it pained me to leave my Nest.

I received little information about the prior witch who lived here, Sidonielle De La Rein, but her cottage was nice enough, even if it was beset with a plague of dust. Large stone hearth, a well that still runs clear, quilts tucked away in a cupboard that have been miraculously saved from moth-ravage, and best of all- a large hazelnut tree! Growing right through the glass kitchen.

I felt guilty going through her belongings, but it wouldn’t do to start this new chapter amidst such a level of mess. Besides there were few things that felt truly ‘personal’. There were journals of course, but the writing has faded from age. I managed to gather a few notes about easier ways of distillation, but even that was a chore in itself. All leftover ingredients were spoiled or dried to ash. But the jars were easily washed, and they’re lovely beside. Different colors and facets of glass, and intricately shaped pottery- I can hardly wait to fill them and arrange them precisely how I like.

The first night there was the apex of the moon cycle so I made a point to visit the Lunar Tower even though I was quite exhausted from cleaning. I couldn’t very well miss my first opportunity for attunement as a witch just because I wanted a quiet night in. I can almost hear Azura’s voice echoing across the Rutile Dormitory, telling how things ‘must be done’.

Once the cleaning was finished, I had plenty of time left in the week I gave myself to set-up, so I decided to use the days to take my time exploring the local scenery, remembering to note down areas particularly rich in reagents and other vegetation. I might not have collected as much as I would have liked to start out with, but anything is an improvement over nothing.

While I was out investigating the local crypt, which in fact was the first mine established in the region that was turned into an ossuary when the vein was depleted, I found some of the fairer folk use it’s halls as a reoccurring market. I didn’t think to find out the schedule, but I did trade a bit of ribbon for a wheel of cheese. I should like very much to visit again if I am not too busy.

I shall officially be operational first thing in the morning, and though I know I should settle down for rest, I cannot shake the anxiety I feel. If I still had whiskers they would be twitching like mad!

What if no one uses my services? I suppose that would mean no one was ill, which would be a blessing for them but a curse for me.

What if too many call upon me at once? I possess neither the capability or amount of hands for that level of work.

But I suppose my biggest fear is what if I don’t fit in? I know a witch is required for any township to thrive, but ‘needed’ and ‘wanted’ are two different things.

I know missing the comfort of the academy and those I know is expected, I felt similar after my transforming incident, but it doesn’t lessen the sting of unfamiliarity. I hope these letters will be a balm to that feeling, not just for me but for any you might be experiencing as well.

OC moth Digimon - revised

I revised some of the moth-based Digimon earlier featured in this post. Most of them are just art adjustments, but I completely scrapped and replaced the original Adult/Champion level stage. All members are vaccine type.

The Child/Rookie stage is Larvamon. It is a caterpillar Digimon said to be a relative of Wormmon. Larvamon is rarely seen due to being active only at night. It has a calm demeanor and thinks very highly of itself, though it is never cruel to others. It dispenses wisdom to other Digimon, but is not nearly as wise as it likes to think. The coat of fur on its body is as soft as a cloud and touching it can be addictive. It's special moves are Fluff Puff, where it throws a ball of fur at its enemies to tangle them up, and Spiky Slam, where it hardens its fur into needles and rams its foe.

The Adult/Champion level is Imagomon. Imagomon is only seen at night and the sight one one flying through the night sky is said to be one of the most beautiful in the Digital World. Imagomon studies the positions and motions of the stars and is said to learn great secrets from them. Its wings are made of crystallized starlight and they can absorb and refract light to create illusions or powerful beams. While normally peaceful, Imagomon can unleash otherworldly powers on those who threaten in. It's moves are Starlight Laser, where it refracts light through its wings into a devastating beam, and Crystal Wing, where it slices at its foe with its razor-sharp wings.

An imago is the adult form of an insect. I thing a child-level named after larvae evolving to an adult-level named after an imago is really appropriate and I'm actually a little surprised there isn't an official Digimon that uses that naming scheme. I definitely took inspiration from Mothra for this Digimon.

The Perfect/Ultimate level is Actiamon. Actiamon has become a powerful witch who uses magics from the alternate Digital World of Witchelny. By studying the positions of the stars, it can foresee the fates of other Digimon, but its own fate is obscured to it. Actiamon's power waxes and wanes with the phases of the moon, being strongest at the full moon and weakest at the new moon. It can pull virtually anything out of the pouch it wears, but it may not alwas pull out something useful. Its moves are Lunar Incantation, where it shoots a blast of freezing moonlight from its wand, and Night's Hex, where it reads curses from its tome that cause misfortune to befall those who hear it.

Actiamon is supposed to be a cute moth girl in a witch costume but I can't draw humanoids. At all. I'm imagining a build a lot like Lilymon for her. Her name comes from the moth genus Actias, which contains the luna moths. Her wings are shaped like a luna moth's wings and the greenish color comes from many real species of luna moth. On the wings are a full and crescent moon and she carries a wand, component pouch, and book of spells.

Finally is the Ultimate/Mega level: Nyxmon. Nyxmon is known across the Digital World as the Goddess of the Night, for it only appears after the sun has set and offers guidance and protection to those lost in the darkness. However, the night also brings danger and Nyxmon can call down powerful magics on those who anger it. Nyxmon's wings display a beautiful and ever-changing display of deep space with stars, comets, and nebulae crossing them. The staff it carries is made of crystallized moonlight. Nyxmon can use the staff to rearrange the stars and therefore alter the destinies of other Digimon. Its moves are Starfall Shower, where it calls down the light of the stars to incinerate its target, and Night Queen's Commandment, where it alters the stars to change a target's destiny for good or ill.

Nyxmon came out very well, I think. Her name comes from Nyx, the primordial Greek goddess of the night. This evolution line is one of a trio I've been working on, each member of which fits one of a series of catergories. They are a Vaccine, Virus, and Data trio, represent day, night, and twilight, and fit the RPG archetypes of the fighter, mage, and rogue. Nyxmon is the Vaccine, the mage, and represents night. Triad

A former superhero turn supervillain.

Once long ago, Triad were triplet brothers, each with a body of their own. Each of the triplets were heroes, with power over three different elements respectively - Fire, Water and Ice.

Until an incident with a supervillain happen. That same supervillain had the power to merge, fuse and combine both objects and people. The Fusion Supervillain combined all three brothers into a single being as a final chance at escape. In doing so, the triplets went insane fighting amongst each other trying to have control over the body. And as for the supervillain, they were never heard from again.

Their costume color scheme were Red/Orange/Yellow, Blue/Green and White respectively.

My friend asked me to design a tattoo for her based off hollow knight and moths, because those are like her 2 favorite things, which clearly I did! (It’s a lunar moth on top of the pure nail) (I did a full color piece for her that you can see in 1 of the photos)

She got it done and I still can’t get over it because… that’s like MY art. I did that. I drew that. AND ITS ON HER SKIN! THATS PERMANENT!!! And now whenever I see it my brain kinda just shuts down.

Also it’s still colorless and only lined since she didn’t have enough money to finish it, so she just uses it as a coloring book thing now.

Tommy is based on an Atlas moth because I like the color scheme!! Also cause Gman is a moth and he's. Moth. Mmmmmm moths hehe. Uhm, Tommy is very coolalso!! The charm they're wearing is based on . Basically Tommy can pause time for a . Lil bit . Like Gman !! Also freelatta.

Benrey is. An anomaly idk. Based them off the Shade Lord but uhm. Idk lol just wsnted them to look cool!!! They have shade abilities and also all the uhm. Stuff Benrey can do in general

Bubby is. I wanted him to be the same species as monomom because uhm. He was born in a tube!!! Its funny also because Oumas explode. And ! Bubby has fire abilities.

Dr. Coomer is based on a beetle uhm! Hive mind oughgh like with the clones but its!! Like their still clones but it's also a hivemind situation hehe!! Also his charm is a Super Play Coin!!

And Gman (or Gmoth AHAHAHAHA) is based on the uhm. Fffffff I cant remember the name its lkke! Lunar moth????? I dont remember but Gman is on the same scale as a Pale Being basically.

So a fun fact about my content involving Manny(Man In The Moon), I honestly rewrote the entire character because his version in the books was a bit irritating. He was very saintly and oddly very hands off. Soooo i threw it all out. Heres my hcs for my iteration of our Manlet In The Moon.

He's honestly a little bit of a brat. (Im being nice.) If it doesn't interest him its written all over his face and hes unapologetic about it. He does honestly care about children's safety but you can't blame him for being selfish now and then. (You can but he'd ignore your opinion.)

Manny very badly wants to leave the moon periodically and see Earth's beauty. He envies children quite a lot and tries his best to not let it cloud his judgement.

He is extremely touch starved but evasive to anyone he doesn't know. If its North patting his head then sure he'll take it.

He has Thalassophobia but adores the sights of Earth's beaches. One of his deepest wishes is going to the beach with his guardians. He just wouldn't ever go onto the open ocean.

He's very confident in how he looks and doesn't care about who's looking. Sandy understands as another plus size short man. Manny also wears nail polish and eyeshadow on occassion but wishes he had someone to partake in those activities with him.

He has conflicted feelings about Pitch because he's aware of the history he had with his parents and how badly Pitch wanted to take him as a darkling. Manny yearns for a time of peace where they can converse and Pitch can answer the questions that pluck at Mannys heart. Singed books and golden age paintings can only reveal so much to him. Pitch feels like a family member he never got to meet so its painful whenever he has to bare witness to a fight, yet he knows when its neccessary.

He's very unsure what label to give himself attraction wise because he hasn't had the chance to explore those options. Once he's on Earth, hes kind of a disaster and finds that lots of spirits are prettier in person. He's Queer for sure.

Manny's got a soft spot for cheese. He hears a lot of jokes about the moon being made of cheese and sees the irony in it. That is to say hes 100% had dreams about it.

He isn't exactly the nicest guy but isn't an unfeeling monster either. He wouldn't admit it but he's got very stunted growth in parts of his mentality. He believes being on Earth might help him change his paradigms and will do whatever it takes to have that wish granted.

He's almost like the healer of The Guardians. He can help bring fallen Guardians back to life with assistance of belief and has strong healing powers. They are light based and come in colors of pale yellow and white. He has to touch the wound or afflicted person for it to work.

The lunar moths taught him a kind of nasty power involving magic silk. He can conjure it from his finger tips and attach it to anyone he chooses. He can puppeteer the victim as he chooses or use it to boost a friend's speed or dodge attacks. If he wanted to he could make the victim say whatever he wanted but he rarely uses that ability. The silk can be broken but not by the victim unless they are strong enough to break free from his control.

A minor power he has is manipulating his own gravity, so he could bounce around as he pleases.

He sees the guardians like a found family and would do everything in his power to keep them alive and well.

He saw Nightlight like a big brother, even if his parents refused to see something "so temporary" as an adopted son.

He's very nosy and could be a gossip hound if allowed on Earth. The Moon holds the secrets of the night after all.

His physical age varies but hes usually in his mid to late twenties like Jack.
