i feel like brad doesnt really have any romantic attraction to people . hes always been kind of aro to me so with david its a Fascination . a proclivity . hes deeply attached to him in a way that is purely out of just . interest . not romantic or even always something sexual its just that david is His person, idk how to explain it . brads attachment to david just isnt really ever romantic to me . maybe like mildly sexual but its mostly kind of just ... obsession ? david is so boring and basic yet still so interesting and wholly unlike anyone hes ever met and he wants to have that with him at all times

i suppose that translates into love in some form but brads love is definitely very, very different from david's . something more visceral and instinctual and harder to comprehend than pure romantic attraction to the point where it kind of ties back into being romantic but also not really ? david's love is kind of just like Yay i love kissing my darling boyfriend ^_^ and brad's love is like You are a weird little prey animal that has crawled its way into the confines of my mind and i am going to lock you in there forever and ever and i dont especially like you all that much but i find you odd in a way that enraptures me deeply and i would choose you over anyone else.

well . davids is still more complex than that but its definitely a different tune ... its romantic and sort of . dog-like . he likes having someone to hold his leash and being married is essentially a leash between you and another person and he Craves for that to come back to him . which is also why i think baksbee is kind of perfect for the both of them because brad needs ownership and david needs to be owned . which makes it seem kind of like some sort type of weird bdsm nonsense that frankly brad is probably into but its really just kind of sweet to me

because they kind of fill a hole in eachother ? not like that . well kind of like that sometimes LOL but they fit so perfectly together like theyre so perfect for one another :( frankly theyre exactly what the other wants . someone loyal who will always be there to direct x an ownable predictable commodity

and about david its like . how do i explain it . i had a david piece titled Reject Humanity where he was just on like four different leashes held by brad, his ex wife & jane, montreal, and ian . and like . thats what hes like to me . he Needs to be held on a leash by everyone else because he doesnt want to think for himself . and i think its because he spent so much of his childhood being told very specifically how to think or feel or act and hes gotten to a point where he cannot function without instructions . he needs people to tell him what to do because he doesnt know how to act otherwise

in a way brad parallels that similarly except he manages that struggle by telling other people how to behave or taking control over them as a means to cope with being controlled so deeply in his childhood in a fairly similar way to david

which . and this might seem like a drastic turn but frankly i never really see it as anything especially pornographic i just think it speaks to their characters in a very specific way . but its why i cant really comprehend top david . like whatever top doesnt equal dominant but the concept still makes me sick because it just doesnt feel Right for brad to allow that level of control over him and i dont think it would feel right to david either, to have any amount of control over his situations . which i mean frankly i think hed enjoy having some amount of control in his life but id rather that manifest as power bottom david because brad still needs some leverage in his desire to have control in any possible situation

but idk . i feel like in a way he definitely Is in love with david but its not . something comprehendible to anyone . including brad . its not quite romantic in the conventional sense . its just a fascination . an unwittingly formed attachment to someone who on the surface seems like the blandest most uninteresting person hes ever met . and honestly i just want the show to let them be friends again because theyre so wonderful even without the romance because brads love for david will always be there regardless of anything because hes always gonna be weird and obsessed with him for no reason and i think it really showed in s2 when they were being friends-ish . whatever its late and im tired and i probably sound delusional and no ones gonna read this but i dont care i miss them so so so so so bad :(

“requiem for methuselah” crazy ass episode for many reasons. Kirk is being fully insane, like I don’t actually think, even controlling for how quickly and easily and readily he seems to fall in love with anybody at the slightest encouragement, that he’d go that bonkers for that android woman he just met while everyone on the ship was this close to dying, but that’s neither here nor there, because in the background you’ve got an equally but much more subtly insane episode for Spock, who extremely uncharacteristically admits to experiencing an emotion (or nearly experiencing, whatever) and that emotion is ENVY of all things. And then spends the rest of the episode warning Kirk away from this new love interest (something that doesn’t usually happen, even when Kirk has very inadvisable love interests) and is, in the end, the person who accurately identifies that Rayna’s competing love for Kirk and Flint is ultimately what overwhelms and destroys her with the most killer line in maybe history???

And then to wrap it up we get an equally uncharacteristic sort of denouement scene (TOS loooves to cut an episode off right after the actual climax, leaving little time for falling action or character reflection, or to stick a sitcom-y button on the end where the gang all smiles and laughs at their misadventures and everything resets to zero, which is not a criticism, it’s just the style of that era of tv, honestly) where Kirk is literally miserable over Rayna’s death (again, kind of unusual for a lot of his love interests, he tends to be able to move on pretty quickly) and Spock goes to see him and he falls asleep right in front of Spock (also odd) and then when Bones comes in to give the final word on Flint, Spock waves him off from waking the Captain (tender) and Bones gives him that awful speech about how it’s sadder that Spock can’t even imagine the love Kirk felt for this random android woman than it is that Kirk lost her in the first place (debatable but also rude) and how his great tragedy is that he can’t love at all like they can and how all he wishes is that Kirk could forget about all of this and move on. AND THEN, to have Bones leave and Spock go over to Kirk and very gently, tenderly, reluctantly touch him and put his hand to his forehead and tell him to forget and HAVE THAT BE THE END OF THE EPISODE??? What am I supposed to do with that??

ToA: Hidden Oracle Opinion (3/4)

I just finished the book so I'm going to make the last two post about it.

I left Apollo yesterday fighting off giants ants only to find out how he basically got adopted by the queen. That was extremely strange. I liked how,even with everything that it's happening,he still think sometimes of Artemis and Leto. That's sweet,and I actually hope they will make an appearance even if little. But as someone that hate insects,I found it horrifying. The fact that Apollo himself decided to call the queen mom???? And she was happy about it? Leto come and get your son before he start to get worse!

I admit that I didn't saw Meg's plot twist coming. It's been a while we actually had something like that,I think the last one was in BotL when Percy opened the coffin. Chills,literally. I was also completely wrong about her backstory,but at least now I know why she has roman weapons. And,I know it might be a bit cruel,but I loved how manipulate Nero is with her. He gaslighted her so much that she think he actually care for her,when he was so ready to kill her off with Apollo after she disobeyed him.

I'll probably talk more about this because when manipulators are involved is usually extremely interesting and the situation is so twisted that it hurt so much,and I love to analyze the deep of it.

Apollo being so protective of Austin,Kayla and Meg,even with the fact she betrayed him,was extremely sweet too. Meg will pull a Silena (right now she is more of a Luke) eventually and come back to him,but untill then Apollo is on his own. And the way he felt about the whole situation? The fact that he couldn't let Meg go because she is his master,but at the same he become attached to her? Perfect. (Also,the dude got a lot of abandonment issues and lack of affection,he needs a therapist).

The scene when the dryads died to end the fire is horrifying and it was extremely good too. Apollo was feeling so much guilt and it didn't help him at all,having also Miranda acknowledge what happens (even tho she was still knocked out) put emphasis on how much their sacrifice really meant since a daughter of Demeter could feel them. Trully emotional.

I also wasn't expecting a giant robot to attack the Camp after Apollo got Dodona under control,but of course demigods can't live in peace more than a couple of weeks. The fact that Nico barely did a jump of not even 10 meters of distance and fainted will always piss me off. He got an ancient statue back while said statue was draining his powers,and he had 2 other people with him,and was actively dying but can't do a simple jump to get a chariot without fainting??? Nope,I won't stand for that.

Percy coming in clutch and helping Apollo also wasn't something I appreciated since he needs to start doing things himself. Percy in the end didn't do much (otherwise I was going to have a bad crash out) but I don't like how Riordan make him always came to save/help the situation. Fortunately he isn't going to show much since he stepped down for this. Still,I would have appreciated more if he got there after the fight ended.

And that scene with Mrs. O'Leary on the head of the robot....it wasn't really effective- Percy made a fool of himself,but it wasn't his fault. Idk what Riordan was trying to do here but it wasn't funny.

The fact that the Arrow can talk is another reference to MC I presume,since I know that Magnus's sword can talk and apparently also fly and fight alone. But I loved how Kayla and Austin couldn't hear it so they thought Apollo was insane. That was funny. Poor children,they are having a field week because of their dad and they will probably continue to be worried about him until he come back after finding the other oracles.

I spoilered myself part of the Leo coming back scene,but even with that,it was hilarious. The way Nico got the whole camp in a line to punch him,because he was beefing with him without Leo being aware of it,is something else. The guy is dedicated,you can give it that. And when Calypso mentioned Albania he just went through the 5 stages of mourning. He wasn't having any of it.

Leo scene with Harley was pretty sweet and having Nyssa too was really a demonstration of how far he has come,since at the start of HoO I remember that they weren't pretty welcoming with him. I'm so happy he is loved by his siblings and everyone else,even with his non-existent self-esteem. His copying mechanisms need to be revisited tho....

Calypso putting aside her grudge with Percy was a scene awkward at the start but at least they can finally let everything go in the past. She probably didn't even know that her curse actually effected Annabeth since she couldn't know they would fell in Tartarus. And the fact that she also put aside her hate for Apollo,in a situation where both of them are mortals that can die pretty easily and without powers? That's a good thing too,since now they can sympathize with each other and know each other better. But you can't stop hating a person in just a moment,so I'm hoping to actually have some communication issues between them while they try to figure out each other. Otherwise is fake as fuck.

Having Calypso and Leo as his "quest-mates" right now was not something I was expecting,since I thought he was going to go with someone else (read:Jason,Will and Nico) but that will probably happen later on. Can't wait to see the new characters dynamics with them since they are a strange mix,and with their past too....it won't be so easy.

I also liked how Apollo felt sad about leaving camp,and how guilty he felt thinking about how his children gave him a home/made him feel welcome,while he couldn't even do the bare minimum for them. And his interior monologue when he was trying to hit the robot was actually a good wake up call for him. He is starting to understand he needs to do better,but at the same time he was a self-esteem under the shoes. He isn't different from a TLT Percy and I quite like that.

Python is going to be like Gaia here,while the emperors are the Giants and the Oracles a very important quest to complete. Riordan put a lot of things to work here,and I hope that he will be able to do everything right,without rushing anything (looking at you Gaia-) and make Apollo complete all the stages. It's like a chain reaction: if he doesn't free the oracles he can't defeat the emperors,and if he doesn't defeat the emperors he can't free Delphi from Python. But the final boss already got put in the background since the race in the Labyrinth,so we are going to focus more on the emperors until we got to him. I don't have an high expectations of this,since Gaia got done pretty dirty in her own serie.

Anyway,the book was ok,I enjoyed it and it was more funny than the other books. Riordan lost something during HoO and,he found it again for ToA: the desire to write and create. PJO and ToA have the same feeling for me,they seems pretty similar,while HoO is totally different. It's probably for the narrative choice since they are both in first person PoVs,and only from the main character (one character). Can't wait to see how it will go in the next one.

TFOTA update (major spoilers for book 1): chapter 20

this book just keeps throwing plot twist after plot twist after plot twist on me and I'm falling for every.single.one. gosh. first jude kidnaps the human girl to free her into the mortal world, and she drowns herself? Then Dain yells at Jude for the thing I WASN'T expecting (stabbing Valerian) and then Jude fucking KILLS Valerian not even a few minutes later, then buried the body in HER house, then Balekin gatecrashes and slaughters almost everyone in his fucking blood line in the matter of MINUTES. Madoc kills Dain?? And ghost kills Caelia?? Rhyia kills herself?? Taryn and Locke might secretly have an affair??

Jude feels pleasure in seeing Cardan miss out on the coronation bc he got drunk which is ironically the best thing he did bc he dodged a bullet?? Now Cardan is the only hope elfhame has, which is also super ironic since Jude was marvelling over how glad she was that cardan wasn't ever going to be king in the first few chapters.

I literally woke up in the middle of the night like God will dark rise is so fucking screwed. The line that’s like. “Everyone wanted to kill the Dark King.” What’s the part where he looks at Violet helplessly, haunted, almost pleading for mercy? But of course he reveals nothing of substance to anyone. Elizabeth is too young to understand but the reader knows what “Her relationship with that boy was…unnatural” can mean. Tying him to bedposts? Failing to strangle him? What else? Never not even once seeing beyond a mythological identity Will himself didn’t know he had? What did he think was the reason? That he was just intrinsically hateful? Of course he says nothing. Of course Violet can’t trust him- he’s given her nothing as painfully real as what she’s given him. So he gives her the sword hoping at least he can die at the hands of someone he loved, but even that doesn’t work out - she gives the sword to a Visander still furious at SARCEAN. The pattern continues; no one looks at Will, who vomits when he realizes what’s happened to James, Will who is much of a liar and killer and sneak as Elizabeth accuses but nonetheless wants to be different. Even when he doesn’t remember his own past. There’s no way out for him that doesn’t hurt. Hope this obsession passes soon given the one and a half years of waiting required for book 3
