honestly unless siffrin looped back again (which. idk if they could have looped back if the party hadn't stopped them from giving up when they did, but who knows) loop also saved not only the party (making sure they actually made it to the king and didn't die to a trap or a sadness or the king himself) but also the entirety of vaugarde (if the party didnt make it who would be left to fight back against the king?)

what's important here isn't if eddie was actually going to punch buck or not, is that ryan was playing the scene intentionally violent. what matters here is the violent undertones in the scene are there and were 100% intentional from both the director and ryan guzman.

received a comment today that someone was unhappy with the new covers of the soc (dregs edition) duology because kanej (predominantly featured on said covers) is ‘toxic’ and ‘underwhelming’.

calling kanej 'toxic' when kaz vehemently denies ownership over inej, liquidates all of his assets to pay off her indenture, begins to work on removing his armor and letting down his walls around her, buys her a ship so she can pursue her dream, and reunites her with her parents - i have to laugh.

and if i had to guess, the ‘underwhelming’ would reference the fact that kaz and inej do not have a physically intimate relationship that lives up to whatever expectations this person has for two incredibly traumatized teenagers.

all this to say, don’t speak on kanej if you don’t understand or respect their characters (disrespectfully)

Actually I find this really funny so let's break this down

Which of the Guardians of Light does Lea actually know going into the final battle?

Sora Course he knows Sora. Everyone in the organization knew Sora. Keyblade's chosen, major piece of the organization's plans. They developed quite a rapport through the events of CoM, plus on top of that all of Roxas and Xions' personal ties to him. Completely in the loop on who this guy is.

Kairi Fellow trainee in Merlin's Funny Timespace Distortion. Strongly implied they had several conversations and got to some level of friendship. Before that, he kidnapped her. Definitely acquaintances at the very least.

Donald & Goofy Sora's funny little guys that went with him through castle oblivion. He's spoken to them a handful of times. Maybe not directly, but you know. They're around. Probably unclear on the details of why they're here, but Lea doesn't sweat the small stuff.

Michael Mouse First of all, he's a semi public figure who interacted regularly with the king of Radiant Garden, so we cannot discount the possibility that Lea saw him just. Around. When he was a kid. Don't think they ever interacted through the events of CoM or Kh2, but at least might have had one conversation while they were preparing to save Sora from being norted.

Riku I would argue there's strong evidence Lea has no idea who the hell Riku is. Yes, Riku let him and Namine go in Kh2, but Lea certainly has no idea who that guy was. He was wearing a hood! Also was wearing Ansem's face! They don't talk in DDD because Riku was too eyes on the prize to particularly care about this random guy dropping in during a fight. Lea having any understanding of who Riku is I think hinges entirely on if he poked his nose into Vexen's work on the replica program.

Ventus Small teenager he had one (1) conversation with over a decade ago with a face identical to one of Lea's best friends. He asks for literally anyone to fill him in on why this is the case, or why this kid seems to have not aged a day in twelve years. No one does.

Aqua Random woman. Complete 0 idea who this person is. He might have heard someone refer to her using the title "Master" and that's all he's got to go on.

Terra Even less context than Aqua. They set out to kick Xehanort's ass with nine people in their party, split up, and then when they come back together, they have ten. No one comments on this. Said tenth person has the exact face of Lea's old evil boss. Please take a minute and imagine the sheer level of 'what the fuck' that must have been running through Lea's mind in that moment.

something unique about the sims 2 fandom is that we love characters that don't even really exist. not just tiny background characters that have gained cult followings, no. sims you can never see in-game. ones that were deleted long before it even released. hidden nervous, viola monty, knut futa, all the sims that were there for a second and snapped out of existence before they could ever see the light of day. we found scraps of these characters and loved them so dearly that they became real again

I always make an effort to look at paranatural through the ~2013 era lens it was conceptualized from, back when it was at it’s most subversive, in tandem alongside its contemporary lens. Because thats what Paranatural was, for those who aren’t aware — paranatural played off of & against the common shonen & cartoon tropes and character expectations that were prevalent in that age: the wise and just mentor, the prejudiced bully, the action girl implemented to pushback against sexism + the subversion of the action girl, the excited rare skilled selfless battleprone protagonist, etc.

Okay so I started transcribing book 4 and I was going to save all my thoughts for the review post, but I HAVE to gush about this.

That’s delightfully not Alfonse.

Since I have written the past few books down, I can immediately compare and contrast how Alfonse and “Alfonse” talk. The differences are immediate. That little “Huh.” ended up striking me as odd, so I opened the search feature on the document and found that huh has only been uttered three times prior to this. Once by Sharena in book 1 and twice by Ylgr in book 2. Alfonse has never uttered a huh in his life, which means that’s a little Kiran speech pattern!!! Cool!!!

Kiran also tends to talk slower and meander a little in their sentences. So far, there has been an ellipses in nearly every “Alfonse” textbox. It’s because they’re thinking. They have a lot of new information to process on account of finding themselves in a brand new realm and Peony info dropping weird tidbits about how this place works with the unexpectedness of an elephant dropping from the sky. So, thanks to some multitasking, they seem to be picking their words as they say them, leading into fun little pauses. Also very cool! Then, in the line above in particular, they suddenly pick up the pace by letting off a series of rapid fire questions. Has to be cut off by Anna or they would have kept going. It does not feel like how Alfonse would question the situation at all— he’s usually very pointed and specific. This instead feels like the speed at which Kiran normally thinks. They’re pausing because they’re picking from the thirty questions their brain just asked.

Also!!! Look at that blunt ass hell “I’m sorry. I’m confused.” That’s two very modern sounding two-word sentences back to back. It’s absolutely not how Alfonse talks. No “my apologies” here their ass is confused!!!!

I don’t really got a point for this one folks, I just really like how fun Book 4 is on a reread. That’s my little guy officer! That’s the bastard that escalated FEH into a hyperfixation!!! Get them. Put them a container and give it a little shake.

God I love Truthless Recluse so much. He's such a sweet cookie, so precious, so relatable I love him dearly,,

I ADORE his design he's so pretty it's unfair. How can someone be at their lowest point and look so gorgeous at the same time?

He's so broken and sad I can't help but feel pity and affection for him- though ngl seeing him suffer is very enjoyable too. Especially when Shadow Milk plays with him since he knows which buttons to press- just a delight to witness. I have a weakness for kind characters being broken down or challenged by something that affects them greatly. Such a big potential for angst and character study.

It just saddens me how miserable he is, that he wholeheartedly believes that he hurt everyone, that it's all his fault everyone suffered. (Have you heard that line in Korean? God- It gets to me. Ouch) But despite that he still tried his best to protect the children from Shadow Milk even if it meant playing in his games. He tried to defy him but in the end he had to submit whether he wanted to or not. (Though it was meaningless to try to protect them since he pushed them off the tower anyway)

And I love that he managed to understand Shadow Milk, to literally feel his pain and self-loathing. A bit upsetting that this line was mistranslated and it was vague whose feelings were that TR felt. But all of it was Shadow Milk.

I can't help but wonder if his promotion line means that too in a way? That the more he understands the world the more he understands why Shadow Milk despises it? While of course APV is the opposite since he learned to accept every imperfection and embrace it, to love and cherish it. I dunno, maybe I'm reaching here. (BUT GOD HE LOVES SHADOW MILK, HE TRULY DOES EVEN AFTER HE'S BEEN HURT AND ABUSED BY HIM)

Also this line- thought it was a bit funny cause he's rather forward about it but it's also sweet. He doesn't blame you if you can't go forward, he's just gently saying "hey it's okay if you're tired, just take a break" and I love that about him. He's still Pure Vanilla. He's still so caring and sweet. He'd hug you if you're having a bad day even if he's hurting too. He'd shield you from the bitter truth and take the blow. (Costume story TR does that too basically)

Also what's heartbreaking is that in order to awaken he literally needs to stab himself in his chest- he needs to kill himself to ascend to the top and it just 💔💔 Breaks me. He doesn't deserve this. My poor Recluse,,

I remember that briefly after the ep 8 released I made an art that mischaracterizes him so badly I literally cannot look at it rn without cringing. I won't tell which one it is but now that I understand Recluse more... I'd rather not remember it lol. I got it so wrong I'm ashamed of myself rn

Anyway I love Recluse. I love how pathetic and miserable he is most of the time, I love how much he struggles and sincerely thinks that everything that happened is his fault when it's not. He's simply tried his best and did what he believed was right yet it brought him here, at the bottom. As I mentioned, he's relatable and feels so real I'm getting emotional over a cookie,, eueuue

Maglor who stayed in Middle Earth all the way through till present day, or close to it, and then for whatever reason finally ends up going back to Valinor, but he has enthusiastically picked up all the modern day curses and slang and sometimes when he talks he's so completely incomprehensible to his family that they're not sure if they want to cry or hit him

aka: Maglor comes back to Valinor and instead of getting a traumatized son/brother back like the expected, they find that Maglor did in fact get over his shit eventually but was just having a blast becoming an agent of chaos and now he's brought all that back with him <3

Fukuzawa hit the fucking goldmine when recruiting members of the ADA. The team being so small compared to rival organisations and still having exceptional feats despite being relatively new is a really nice change from other animes, it just proves how talented these detectives are.

What I personally find more interesting is that the lineup was never intentional, Fukuzawa and Ranpo never went out seeking the best, it was their kindness that reeled displaced individuals in with the offer of companionship and a second chance to do good. And it’s their teamwork and trust in each other as a group that makes them such an imposing threat.

The ADA is so fucking OP because what they have is insane. Two talented strategists of different calibres, versatility, healing, illusions, an assassin, brute strength and a strong offense. The team really did slot in together seamlessly and for that reason alone I will never subscribe to the idea that they’re just co-workers.
