also can we just talk about the fact that in the Wish World, a woman can get away with calling another woman beautiful without setting off everyone's queer panic, but when a man does it to a man, it tips over the edge? so the Kates of the world are flying just under the radar, but are likely to be more emotionally repressed as a result - and yet, all the queer or queer-coded characters in this world are offered the same security and protection from doubt by the prospect of entering into an opposite-sex marriage...
#i may be emotionally attached to this topic#a good amount of my academic writing focused on queer invisibility in literature from time periods when queerness was subject to censorship#and specifically how women were represented in literature when women's queerness was particularly conducive to invisibility#and the contrast between kate and ibrahim's queer-codedness in this episode is so fascinating#ibrahim has a big queer panic reaction most likely because repressed queerness for a male character in this world is closer to the surface#whereas kate has sublimated her queerness and emotional repression into a fixation on rules and order#because work is where she can make things make sense#where she can keep things neat and tidy and cover up anything that feels off#hence the zoe evans comparison in my earlier post#honestly the way this interacts with the actors in both roles is fascinating#before dw one of alexander devrient's most notable appearances was as a queer stylist on ted lasso in a scene with masculine anxiety#and jemma redgrave made a career out of playing repressed queer-coded women before she was cast as kate#it's so fascinating because in the actual real world of the show they make an intriguing pair in a normal cool bisexual way#but against the backdrop of an overly repressed patriarchal society obsessed with reproductive futurism#they fall into more of a binary#so there's the adorable shoulder bump but also the comforting potential to be a beard couple and the safety that would come with that#he can rescue her from her spinster status and she can rescue him from anyone ever doubting his sexuality#there's so much here holy shit#brb i gotta go reread heather love's feeling backward and lee edelman's no future while watching this episode 8 more times#like a normal person#doctor who#dw spoilers#jemma redgrave#alexander devrient#kate stewart#christofer ibrahim#gay#queer stuff#queer tv#compulsory heterosexuality

so, i went to a boarding school where latin was cumpulsory. and something the other kids did when they wanted to give something away was hold it up in the air and shout QUIS?! (anyone?!)
then, whoever first shouted EGO! (functionally: me!) got the item. some particularly snarky kids would sometimes wave it off with nolo. (don't want/refuse) or even quisquilae (rubbish/junk) if they were feeling particularly florid.
fun fact: “nolo” is latin for “do not want” so if someone says yolo you can say nolo and they’ll think its just a stupid comeback but in all actuality you’re speaking latin which is classy as shit so haha the jokes on them

Xaden Riorson’s actions in Fourth Wing and Iron Flame both make more sense and become infinitely funnier when you remember that the man is 22-23 years old.
This man is AT BEST a first year grad student trying to finish compulsory military service in an active war zone while running the family business (ruling a legit kingdom) and taking on extracurriculars (leading a rebellion) as side hustles. On top of that there’s a literal plague of evil descending, institutional racism is against him, and his Situationship (calling Violet that cuz a lot happens there over two books and I’m trying to cover all the relationship levels) never seems to settle out for more than a month at a time.
Like, of course the decision making is not always on point. The man doesn’t even have a fully developed pre-frontal cortex yet and he hasn’t slept the recommended amount in 6 years.

not to vague but when i was a teenager i really heavily internalised the idea that being bi/pan was on some level the most 'enlightened' sexual orientation bcos well u know everyone's at least a little bisexual and gender is made up and if you think about it having a preference is kind of like being prejudiced etc etc.
anyway then I went out into the world aged 18 and tried really really hard to be bisexual in practice and it turned out i was not bisexual. i tried dating a man and pretty much as soon as we got physical realised i just was not attracted to men.
i spent the next few years being fully aware that i was a lesbian but variously 1) declining to self-describe as a lesbian 2) telling people i was 'like, 90% gay' 3) being like well sexuality is fluid so im not one of those boring old-fashioned lesbians who's only attracted to women 4) saying well u know there MIGHT be a man out there for me. can't rule it out just bcos i haven't found one yet.
eventually i came across a blog post written by a friend of mine talking about a lot of the things i'd been feeling and describing them as 'internalised lesbophobia' and i remember sitting there is. is this not just what I'm supposed to believe? is this not the progressive way to be a lesbian?
i'd have been well into my 20s at the time and i think that was the first time i realised i was allowed to only be attracted to women 👍and don't get me wrong heteronormativity and compulsory heterosexuality were major factors in this but let me tell you the stuff i was picking up in LGBT spaces was not helping.
anyways no i promise you not everyone is bisexual, i have checked 🌈

"The number of teenage abortions in Finland fell by 66% between 2000 and 2023, its public health institute THL said on Monday, attributing the reduction to the offer of free contraception to adolescents and compulsory sex education in schools.
Finland also passed a law in 2022 liberalising abortion, at a time of deep divisions over abortion rights in Europe and court rulings in the U.S. that restricted access to terminations of unwanted pregnancies for millions of people there.
The number of abortions among women under 20 rose during the 1990s in Finland, which led the Nordic country to respond at the start of the 2000s by making morning-after pills available without prescription from 15 years of age and sexual education compulsory in all schools.
"We can assume that sexual education plays a significant role," THL's research professor Mika Gissler told Reuters, adding that increased access to contraception from a young age was another factor behind the change.
The number of abortions fell 66% to 722 in 2023 from 2,144 in 2000 among all teenagers aged 19 or younger in Finland, while the drop was even steeper at 78% among those under 18 in the same period, THL's statistics showed.
"Since the latter half of the 2010s, the decline in the number of young people's abortions has also been influenced by the introduction of free contraception in many welfare regions," THL wrote in a report...
Under the 2022 liberalisation, Finland from September 2023 stopped requiring women to give a reason for having an abortion, making it available upon a pregnant person's request during the first 12 weeks of pregnancy.
[Note: That's actually not a very long window for abortion! Many conservative states in the US have actually instituted 12-week bans, and it's caused terrible upheaval and limits to medical services. Sounds like Finland should liberalize further, imho! Still, important progress!]
THL said it was too early to conclude whether the legislative change, which took effect last year, will have an impact on the number of abortions."

you don’t even vote for the liberal party in your own country so stop judging others for not voting for Kamala
I love this ask because clearly anon has no fucking clue how politics in any country work. Lemme break it down:
In Australia, where I come from, liberal party = conservatives. They are not liberal, they’re mildly far right at best.
Also, how Aussie voting works is that you can still vote for third parties, as we don’t actually elect a prime minister. It’s a little confusing but to dumb is down (and yes I know it’s not completely acceptable just go with it)
Australia has multiple parties, notably are The Liberal party (right wing), The Labour Party (likes to be centre some what left mainly right, workers rights but voted against making price gouging illegal), the Greens (I vote for them just because we need green policy but they’re very far left wing), and like 40 other small parties plus all the independents.
How Aussie elections work is the people vote for people to get them seats in parliament, the majority wins and gets to elect a prime minister, they’re kinda like the kid who organised hide in seek and then didn’t play. Basically they have very little real power other than usual shit, they have to go through our Parliament House to get most stuff done.
And as Australia is still under British rule, we have a bunch on governors in each state and then a “head governor” in charge of says “yeah the colony is still there” back to England every now and again.
Also we can’t change our money without British permission. So every time we change something people hear make this big song and dance about it, which is hilarious considering they don’t give a single fuck.
But how does this allow for third party voting?
Let’s pretend there are three parties (only) the blue the red and the yellow parties. Blue and red want to make a ferry, yellow wants a train. People vote.
Now in America, you vote for the party and that’s your only vote. So if more people want the ferry, but because there are two options the vote is split. Boat wins majority vote, but the train would win because it has the most over all. Got it?
In Australia however, we rank our votes. My brain gone I thought it was 7 or 5 but I’m pretty sure that’s wrong, but it varies okay. So if I wanted a boat but I liked red party more than blue, I would vote 1-red 2-blue, 3-yellow.
Now red doesn’t get enough votes let’s say 20 people voted, 7 blue,8 yellow and 5 red: because I voted for 2 blue, and my first party (red) has been eliminated my vote now moves to the blue party, maybe some from the red party also did blue second and maybe some voted yellow second.
Let’s split the red party 4 for blue and 1 for yellow.
Blue has 11 and yellow has 9. Suddenly the ferry has won!
It’s a complicated system but it makes sure not a single vote is wasted, and as voting is compulsory here (thank fuck) it gives people a lot of leeway to fuck around. Hope this helped anon

⚜️The @Miquellah Miquella Manifesto⚜️
Tumblr media
The big, long, TL;DR compilation about MY personal takes on Miquella of Elden Ring, as someone who's had him rotating in my head since pre-SOTE and has worked so hard to comprehend him since.
Usual disclaimer: this is purely a writeup of MY personal take, not necessarily views I'm saying you HAVE to adopt. For the most part all my takes are based on actual, in-lore truth ("Miquella had good intentions and wanted to save people") as well as stuff that is not stated, but still fits in cohesively to his narrative ("he does not actually experience romantic/sexual attraction at all, and is just acting on compulsory standards he THINKS he needs to adhere to")
Additionally, I will probably be periodically updating this to add in sections or info I'd forgotten, along with anything new. There is a Lot to say. And of course, CW for discussion of incest in the Radahn and also Mohg sections.
⚜️ Motives
Here we start. Nooo, he did not want power for power's sake. If anything, power, and the ascension needed to attain it, was just a means he was conditioned into believing he NEEDED in order to save others. Unfortunately Miquella himself is also unable to solve anything at the root cause, and can only apply “bandaid” solutions— such as Leda’s paranoia being only pacified, as well as Hornsent’s vengeful grudge. It is likely he did wish to charm everyone under his rule in much the same manner, but this would not have actually solved any problems, only ignored them entirely.
It has apparently been found that Miquella's wish to bury "the original sin" was actually localized from something more akin to that of "karma" in JP; this is likely in some thematic reference to the Golden Order's Law of Causality, which states that "all things are linked in a chain of relation"-- cause and effect. Strife is caused by previous wrongdoings, the cycle of violence. If one could annul causality itself (by refusing individuals the ability to seek revenge or cause strife), one could theoretically end suffering itself.
⚜️ Morality
Miquella is SO "Good"-aligned, truly, that it circles right all the way around to being harmful. His faults are actually in that he still continues to utilize the same system as that his mother did, with its own rotten foundations— no one, single person should have omnipotence over others, no matter how Good their intentions. He is also, ultimately, not able to see others as anything other than “people to be saved”, while also mentally trapping himself into the role of “someone who has to act as savior”. Miquella has the inability to see others as those who are fully capable of their own fates, and he is also unable to respect himself this same way (see in contrast to Ranni).
Miquella's place in the narrative is to make us question ourselves and our own good intentions, to serve as a cautionary tale in that good intentions alone do not inherently make us incapable of harm. Also, perhaps to pose the philosophical question of "if free will causes suffering, IS it truly bad to remove it?" (Which the game then answers itself, even still).

⚜️ Malenia
Miquella and Malenia are symbiotic; she fulfills what he cannot (strength, physical combat prowess), and he fulfills what she cannot (charisma, social and political navigation). I would even dare to say that her sake and need for salvation is the very origin, and core, of his motives for all his big plans. Miquella did not abandon her, or at least, had absolutely no intention of doing so. That's us who kept him from returning lol.
Some people seem to think she may have had doubts in him? But I think she was absolutely on board, and that she was the last person who he would EVER need to charm. She has every reason to want to see his plan go through, because almost everything he does is FOR her, this included. Also I like when we allow women agency in their decisions!

⚜️ Mohg
God don't even get me started on trying to figure out the exact timeline here. Personally, I don't feel Miquella left/allowed himself to be kidnapped willingly, nor did he manipulate these events. I'm willing to believe that he and Mohg perhaps worked together at some capacity, at some point in time-- I do believe he truly cared about Mohg, and pitied him. While everyone else sees the use of Mohg's corpse to house Radahn's soul, and thinks it was a move made from apathy or spite, I think Miquella personally felt it was a means of honoring him. Mohg had such adoration for him, and so dearly wished to be his consort; by that means, even after the Tarnished has killed him, this can still be accomplished.
Miquella had no feelings for him, but Mohg absolutely was in love with him. Difficult to say just how much of this was the charm? But even post-SOTE I still think that Mohg having incestuous adoration still fits for his character, as someone so pitifully depraved of love all his life, and finding a potential salvation in Miquella.
Miquella's charm didn't make Mohg do all that blood cult shit either by the way. That was all him babeyyy. We can't keep forgetting The Formless Mother herself, or refuse to let Mohg have any faults or agency at all.....

⚜️ Radahn
Originally I had been on-board with "Radahn was unwilling and puppeteered the whole time", but I've since seen some compelling talk hinting otherwise. I'm on board with the latter, now, as I do think Radahn WOULD have been all for Miquella's plan from the start, and I also want the guy to have some amount of agency at all lmao. But I think the narrative also does intentionally obfuscate this on purpose.
But, Radahn WAS kind, and that IS what Miquella sought for someone as a lord. I think Radahn's whole motivation in seeking to emulate Godfrey is that he wanted to be a HERO, and to SAVE people from suffering, much in the way it was deemed Godfrey liberated the people and served as lord. Of course, Godfrey himself was no admirable man when it actually comes down to his sins, and we are meant to see the parallels in Radahn and Miquella almost completely copying Godfrey and Marika in path.
Personally, I also don't see their dynamic as romantic, but purely political, and/or both of them believing they NEEDED to be married in order to solve all of their problems-- because that is what ascension in and of itself requires.
Related Posts: Here, Here
⚜️ Trina
Don't even get me started on trying to comprehend the nature of Rebises in Elden Ring lore. But, importantly, Trina is the key to understanding Miquella's fate, and that he's both sympathetic as well as dooming himself by choosing to ascend. Additionally, I feel he also knew that by dooming himself, he would've been dooming Trina... so of course, as someone he loved, he would've tried to keep her as far away from sharing his fate as possible.
Her penchant for the element of Sleep is also notable in that it parallels his methods for quelling harm. Sleep is a means of staving off suffering, but again, only as a "bandaid" of sorts, and not actually solving any root cause. Trina herself even mirrors Miquella's inability to change, or to create meaningful change.
⚜️ Godwyn
I'll get around to this eventually. Plenty of others have talked around this/the Eclipse tho
⚜️ Miscellaneous
Personally I headcanon his sexuality as aroace, but comphet. Miquella does not actually experience romantic or sexual attraction, but his surroundings and politics place such an emphasis on things such as marriage, that he believes he must conform to this as well.
Apparently the actual scale of his child form is still more or less the height of the Tarnished’s model… which makes sense, actually, with the Great Rune growth aspects. Therefore even childform!Miquella is probably around 5’7.
I prefer transmasc Miquella because like [motions to all of my being transmasc], BUT am equally 100% on board with all the clear transfem readings in the narrative. I think you've really gotta give him some sort of gender, some sort of way.

I don't get what you mean about Western anti-Israel sentiment seeming empty. The two people I know who are most anti-Israel are Israeli citizens, both served in the IDF. Neither live in Israel any more. One left voluntarily, the other was forced to leave after he was fired from his university job in response to criticism of what the IDF was doing in Gaza recently. He now lives in the UK.
The next most intense criticism of Israel I hear are from people like me with friends and/or family who have also served in the IDF, or other close ties, such my friend who became more radically anti-Israel after his rabbi heard from someone he knew personally, who was forced into hiding after people started threatening his family, in response to him publicly criticizing the IDF for actions in Gaza.
I don't know a single person who is anti-Israel, who does not have at least one close connection to such a person, so at most two degrees of separation to people with direct experience over there, including voting, serving in the IDF, and potentially being vulnerable to antisemitic terrorism in daily life.
Maybe there are such people out there, but I do not come into contact with them in real life. And when I see a bad take online, I don't know that they're real, and not just planted there to discredit a particular perspective.
To me, it almost seems like these takes that depict criticism of Israel as shallow or out-of-touch are attempts by the hardliners who support Netanyahu's authoritarian regime, to deflect criticism and paint all such criticism as antisemitism. They are attempts to enforce an orthodoxy. They are part of the same trend of censorship and enforced silence, why people like us are all unwelcome at Hillel. Why Hillel is barred from even co-sponsoring events with student organizations that have, at one point or another, criticized Israel.
So yeah, that's my perspective. Take it with a grain of salt. I'm not even Jewish, I know, since it's my dad's side of the family that my Jewish heritage is from. But your post reached me, and your characterization of Western criticism of Israel struck me as very off-base given my life experiences. And I wanted to challenge that.
If you've read this far, thank you for your time.
No, thank you for yours, Anon.
Thank you for this thoughtful, civil pushback which is clearly from real lived experience of someone who cares about the topic. I'm grateful that you took the time to share your perspective.
I think you're making six points here, and I want to address each one.
I also need to note that I'm not Israeli. I'm an interested American. I do not and cannot speak for a single Israeli.
I would love for Israelis to reply here and share any thoughts they have.
1. The most anti-Israel people I know are Israelis who served in the IDF.
That may well be true for your circle, but it's a mistake to extrapolate from that into a general rule. The overwhelming majority of Jewish Israelis are Zionists, meaning they believe Israel should exist as a Jewish and democratic state. That's not an opinion, there's evidence:
In a Pew survey, 91% of Jewish Israelis said they believe in the continued existence of Israel as a Jewish state. Among those who disapprove of the current government, only a tiny minority support international delegitimization efforts like BDS.
Israelis are often critical of their government - sometimes brutally so. That’s democracy, and Israel's democracy is pretty polarized right now on a number of matters, but broad (and valid, imho) criticism of Netanyahu’s policies is not the same thing as opposing the country's right to exist.
It's precisely because Israelis have lived through wars, terror attacks, and compulsory military service that most of them are committed to Israel's survival and are not interested in dismantling it.
Regarding the IDF, the 2023 Israeli Democracy Index from the Israel Democracy Institute shows that Jewish Israelis trust the IDF more than any other government institution, at about 86%.
For contrast, only about 60% of Americans trust the US military.
Tumblr media
Even in late 2023, please note, faith in Bibi and his government was pretty bad. It's gotten worse since. The most recent poll from Pew shows about 54% unfavorable views of Netanyahu and the Israeli political observers who I read believe public opinion on Bibi is far worse than this data shows. (Personally, I have loathed him with increasing intensity for about 20 years.)
So yes, you may know two dissidents. But the data (or talking with Israelis) will demonstrate they're the exception, not the rule.
(This is what's called an Anecdotal Fallacy. You have two self-selected data points, not a data set.)
2. Everyone I know with anti-Israel views has close personal ties to Israel or Jews.
This might be true in your social universe, but again, it doesn’t scale.
On social media and campus protests, many of the loudest voices have zero firsthand knowledge of Israel, no connections to Jewish life, and often can't find Gaza on a map. They’re not debating policy; they’re chanting slogans and treating Israel as a symbolic villain in a Western morality play. But it'd be fair to tell me that's an anecdotal fallacy too- so let's look at polling data.
A 2021 Pew study found that only 27% of Americans under 30 know someone who is Jewish - and that 27% includes American Jews.
American Jews overwhelmingly support the continued existence of Israel while simultaneously being consistently critical of its government.
(At the same time, most Jews worldwide remain flabbergasted that only one nation on earth routinely has the legitimacy of its existence - it's right to exist - questioned.)
Pew indicates that only about 1 in 10 American Jews support BDS.
So when you say you don't know a single anti-Israel person without strong ties to Jews or Israelis, I believe you - but that would make your circle a statistical aberration, not the norm.
This logical fallacy is called an Argument from Ignorance.
Just because you personally haven't met shallow, performative critics doesn't mean they don't exist, right? It just means you haven’t encountered them.
That's like someone in Maine saying, "I don’t believe in cacti because I’ve never seen one myself, ayup."
Meanwhile, the rest of us are watching protests full of people with no connection to Israel, chanting about "global intifada," while livestreaming from their iPhones. They’re not drawing from deep experience - they’re mimicking a subculture.
Here's one of the ways we know that:
Western "pro-palestine" demonstrators largely seem to believe that "intifada" means "uprising" and that "globalize the intifada" merely calls for global political protesting.
Israelis and Jews, on the other hand, hear that as a call for violence against Jews everywhere, and with good reason.
The Second Intifada (2000 - 2005) was quite violent, and included (but was not limited to) about 145 suicide bombings which killed more than 11,000 Israelis. Because these attacks targeted civilians, 78% of these deaths were civilians. "Globalizing the intifada," to Jews, is what happened to a young couple leaving the Jewish museum in DC when a man shouting "Free Palestine" emptied his gun into them. Jews feel that when 12 Jews who were marching (not for Israel but) for awareness of the hostages in Gaza were attacked with Molotov cocktails in Boulder on Sunday. One of them was a holocaust survivor. Two are still in the hospital.
To Jews, this is globalizing the intifada. It's people who claim to be antizionist-not-antisemitic...attacking Jews in the name of "freeing Palestine."
Yes, there are people with deep connections who criticize Israel, but they're not the ones shaping the dominant online narrative. Most of that comes from activists with no firsthand knowledge - just hashtags, vibes, and a deeply edited version of history. Their lack of knowledge is immediately clear to anyone who has been following this conflict, as all Israelis and most US Jews have been doing for decades.
But don't take my word for it about their ignorance and motives. Ask Gazans Hamza Howidy and Ahmed Fouad Alkhatib, neither of whom are fans of Israel.
3. Bad takes online might not be real; they could be planted to discredit critics.
This is an understandable emotional reaction in today's information chaos - but it is awfully problematic.
When confronted with bad arguments on your side, instead of addressing them, you're saying: maybe they're fake.
That’s not engaging with evidence - that’s sidestepping it. It's a way to protect your belief by treating contrary examples as inauthentic.
It’s an epistemic trap: if every bad take is fake, and every criticism of your views is a psy-op, then no disagreement is ever legitimate.
Accusing them of being plants is a bit like plugging your ears and yelling "propaganda!" (Which, by the way, I see a lot of.)
If you want to reject bad arguments, engage them - but dismissing them as false flags just shuts the door on things like dialogue, evidence, and intellectual honesty.
Even if some trolls exist to make the anti-Israel side look bad (and I think they do exist because I've seen people clumsily and transparently pretend to be Jews in just that way), that wouldn't mean all or even a significant number of bad takes are planted.
Some people just don’t know what they’re talking about. When a cause gains cultural currency - as antizionism has - plenty of people will jump on board for identity reasons, aesthetic reasons, or social validation. That's not a psy-op. That's human behavior. That's most of what I've been writing about.
If you'd like to see videos of anti-Israel protestors demonstrating their utter ignorance (like not knowing what river and what sea or not being able to find Gaza on a map), there's quite a lot of that online.
youtube
youtube
4. Your post struck me as an attempt to enforce orthodoxy and deflect criticism.
I think I can maybe understand why. Some defenders of Israel absolutely do conflate all criticism of Israel with antisemitism - and that’s neither helpful nor honest. Fuck that.
I think fact-based criticisms of Israel which hold Israel to the same standards as other nations and don't play on antisemitic tropes are not just valid, but necessary.
My concern wasn't with criticism - it was with a specific genre of shallow, selective, performative, uninformed criticism that circulates online, mostly divorced from any actual knowledge of the region.
You’ve probably seen the people I’m talking about: They can’t pronounce "Yitzhak," they confuse the IDF with Shin Bet, and genuinely believe British Mandate Palestine was a utopia of pluralism until 1948. They’re not arguing for Palestinian liberation so much as LARPing as revolutionaries, casting themselves in a resistance cosplay.
Also, by preemptively framing critiques of your position as "enforcing orthodoxy," you're setting up a rhetorical trap in which anyone who disagrees with you can be dismissed as part of the authoritarian thought police.
But disagreement is not censorship and criticism is not suppression.
Questioning anti-Zionism - especially when it veers into demonization, double standards, or delegitimization - isn't an attempt to enforce orthodoxy. It's an attempt to draw distinctions between genuine moral concern and something much more toxic.
I hope you'll respond and let me know specifically where you think I did that - and I hope you'll feel that right now, I'm engaging with the substance of your criticisms - and not misrepresenting you, silencing you, or censoring you.
5. Hillel bans co-sponsoring events with anti-Israel student groups. That’s censorship and proves hardline control.
Your wording:
...Hillel is barred from even co-sponsoring events with student organizations that have, at one point or another, criticized Israel.
I'm certain that someone told you that and you're repeating it as you understood it, but that's false.
Hillel International's standards prohibit co-sponsorship with groups that deny Israel’s right to exist, call for boycotts, or associate with antisemitic rhetoric - not merely "groups that criticize Israel."
Saying "Netanyahu is awful" is criticism (a very common one among Jews).
Saying "Israel is a settler-colonial apartheid state that must be dismantled" is a political eliminationist position. Those are not the same, and to pretend they are would be dishonest.
Would you expect Black Lives Matter to co-host an event with an organization called "University White Pride" which describes the Civil Rights Movement as a disaster?
Imagine a group called "Friends of Turkey" which favors the abolition of the nation of Greece demands to co-sponsor an event with the Greek Student Association. Would you require the Greek Student Association to work with them?
6. I’m not Jewish - I only have Jewish heritage through my dad.
That doesn’t disqualify you from caring, from engaging, or from feeling a connection.
Jewish identity is complex, and belonging is about more than halakhic status.
I'm glad my post reached you, I'm glad you read it, and I'm glad you wrote.
I want conversations. I want to reach across some difficult lines with integrity, honesty, and sincerity - and I really hope you can feel that.
Final thought:
You read my post as a blanket dismissal of all Western criticism of Israel. That wasn’t my intention and I don't think the post says that.
What I was criticizing is the growing genre of Western anti-Israel performance that often relies on ignorance, moral absolutism, and aesthetic radicalism instead of real knowledge or constructive goals.
I dislike it because it flattens complexity, ignores context, and turns one of the most nuanced and complex conflicts on Earth into a cartoon of oppressor vs. oppressed...which is demeaning to both Israelis and Palestinians.
You, clearly, are not part of that crowd, and your Ask is proof of that.
So again: thank you for your civility, your honesty, and your perspective. We may not agree, but if more people engaged with disagreement the way you did, the discourse would be a lot less toxic and a lot more meaningful.
We can do better, and your Ask proves it.
Thanks again for reading and for writing - please do so again any time!

Some Things I Did Not Realize Until Later In Life
When it is sunny and miserably hot (>65F) outside and someone tells you to "enjoy the beautiful weather," they're not being ironic and genuinely think it is pleasant weather.
The default amount of pain most people are in is literally 0, not figuratively.
Most people feel a compulsory urge to breed with their preferred variety of people. Sex isn't supposed to be some kind of trial you endure to prove you love someone, and it's ok if you don't want any.
Polyamory doesn't have to be [people A-N in a relationship with each other at the same time] it can be (and is much more logistically feasible as [person A in a relationship with every person B-N individually]
If you think something is wrong with your body, follow that hunch as far as it will go. Your body doesn't just hand out warning signs for fun, those serve a purpose. Sometimes your body spamming you with warning signs for no reason is the problem in and of itself, and you should see a neurologist.
The golden rule is usually pretty good, but it can get you in hot water if you're autistic and trying to help someone. (I don't have a fix for this, just try to make sure people know your intentions before you speak to them.)
You don't need a "type"
You don't need a label.
You deserve accommodations for any disability you have, even if "it's minor" and you can live without them.
People tend to want to help each other out. Often you do not need to make it worth someone's time to ask for help, and they would prefer spending time to help you over spending time watching you flounder around without help.
It's ok to stop talking to people you don't vibe with, just be nice about it.
If you know someone who has a condition triggered by someone doing something they can't control such as Misophonia (when certain sounds send them into a panicky rage) triggered by a family member's eating noises: Neither of them are at fault, and it's ok to for either to ask the other to leave.
Equality is great in an ideal world but we live in a horrible bastard world where equity (certain marginalized groups receiving the aid they need before and in larger volume than advantaged groups) makes more sense.
Capitalism will always be at odds with general prosperity.
People give each other gifts because they like them. You should not feel obligated to give someone a thank you gift or feel guilty or indebted in any way. They would not like that.
Visualizing things from other people's perspective if you have low or no empathy is made easier by picturing it's you in their situation. A reminder that the world is complex and all those other people living in it are like you sort of.
Sorry this turned more into life advice! Hope it helps at all!

𝐍𝐞𝐰𝐛𝐢𝐞 | Lee Jeno Smau
Tumblr media Tumblr media
𝐏𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠: Lee Jeno x F Reader.
𝐖𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬: Angst?, Cursing, Suggestive, more to be added lol.
𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐫𝐞𝐬: University au, spin on fight club au, social media au; smau, written parts, angst, fluff, slow burn, humour, (one sided) enemies to lovers, hidden identities.
𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭: 7
𝐑𝐮𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐍𝐞𝐨 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐬:
1. Only grades acceptable are B+ and above.
2. Negative and derogatory wording about Neo is strictly forbidden.
3. Uniforms must be worn exactly as shown in the uniform guide with no alterations.
4. Tardiness won’t be tolerated, there is no excuse for being late.
5. No Female and Male contact is permitted, only during contact sports or circus in circumstances with granted permission.
6. All homework, assignments, projects and school activities must be completed by the set timeline and are compulsory.
7. No outside help is allowed, this includes outside tutors and Ai programs, on campus tutors will be provided with a fee.
If these rules are not upheld, there will be strict consequences such as suspension and/or expulsion. One or more rules could lead to an immediate expulsion if decided by the faculty.
These are the strict guidelines Neo university students must follow without question or backlash through their years at Neo Technology. Failure to comply with said guidelines never ends peacefully. Many students end up leaving Neo Technology in their earlier years in their majors and courses due to Burn out or expulsions.
Those who manage to go through to graduation in their majors/degrees are always guaranteed a good future, having this university campus on one's resume/Cv is an automatic ticket into high end jobs. Previously graduated students have been seen working in higher up positions in multiple different areas. There hasn’t been a recorded failure on Neo Technologies graduated classes so far.
Many students fill out the same requirements that go to Neo Technology, Wealthy family backgrounds, academically well adjusted and above average in multiple areas shown through their previous education and lastly well connected individuals with higher up contacts. With one outlier.
The one student with a scholarship that is picked out every year. AKA the charity case to make the university look fair. However this scholarship is given to a first year, every year in all majors, whether they make it through to graduation is their own hardship. Those who drop or or get expelled will be replaced with a new student in that year they dropped out.
Due to unseen and unfortunate events a scholarship student in their graduation year passed away from ‘natural’ causes, meaning a new scholarship student would be taking their place in the graduating class of 2024 in the business major area and courses.
Many outsiders condemn Neo Technology for their strict ruling and how faintly it seemed to act more like a high school then university due to its strict regulations rather than the relaxed ruling one mostly knows from being a university student on campus. However words and thoughts do nothing to change how Neo Technology continues to move forward with its education agenda.
𝐑𝐮𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐅𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐂𝐥𝐮𝐛:
1. You don’t talk about Fight Club.
2. You do NOT talk about Fight club.
3. If someone says “Stop” or goes limp, taps out, the fight is over.
4. Only two people, to a fight.
5. No Shirts, No shoes.
6. Fights will go on as long as they have to.
7. If this is your first time at Fight Club, you have to fight.
Those were the rules, you don’t follow them you’re out and that doesn’t just mean a simple blacklisting. Fight Club was built from the ground up by people in their 40’s trying to have some excitement brought back into their mundane lives. Though of course as time progressed the younger generations started pouring in to the point the average ages seen in Fight Club were now no longer 40’s but between 20’s-40’s.
If you happen to be an unfortunate soul who wanders into Fight Club, there’s no point in saying be prepared because no newbie is. It doesn’t matter if it's your first and last day there. Rule number Seven always happens. If it’s your first time at Fight Club, you have to fight. It’s not a choice, it's a must.

ASTROLOGY NOTES
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hey! These are just my views and observations might not be relatable to all, please take what you relate 🤎
This Post consists of only Scorpio, Capricorn, Saturn, Pluto, 8th / 12th house placements
Tumblr media
𓂃𓂃𓂃𓂃𓂃𓂃𓂃𓂃𓂃𓂃𓂃𓂃𓂃𓂃𓂃𓂃𓂃𓂃𓂃
✦ I'm not surprised 12TH HOUSE rules psychiatric hospital, mental illnesses, abandoned places things that are twisted in some way, that are mysterious
since we are on it, 12th house mystery and 8th house mystery are veryyy different....... 12th is like conspiracy everything that's hard to believe which might or might not be real...and 8th is stuff that everyone knows exists but don't wanna talk about cause it's dark and hidden
✦ Saturn dominancy is definitely something you inherit or like runs in family (not compulsory ofc)
✦ Plutonic moon and plutonic venus make a good match from what I've seen, their wants and needs are similar (also the possessiveness and jealousy :/ )
✦ Capricorns and them questioning themselves whether they're enough.
✦ Scorpios are majorly attracted to Capricorns cause caps are so authentic they just be themselves not trying to lure anything or anyone,....... caps / earth signs don't give a shit about anything and Scorpios like it, their cold persona is very appealing + caps are not pretentious and Scorpios like people being honest and real
✦ CAPRICORN and SCORPIO difference (sun/ moon/rising)
Both of them are mysterious but the difference is Scorpios are secretive and caps are reserved / private ppl. Caps don't mind sharing their things with right person but not announcing it lol where as Scorpios have issues with trust they won't share until something like 10+ years and signed nda.
✦ 8TH HOUSE placements really hate people who don't have depth to them, who are too superficial to understand them
✦ You shouldn't underestimate a Moon in 8th house person's ability to detach themselves from anything or anyone, or at least they can pretend to cause they are so good at hiding their feelings
✦ idk why but I've observed this a lot that in someway or other it has always been unfair with Saturnians
✦ Heard a CAPRICORN STELLIUM say this ----
"your life is 100% your responsibility, no one is coming to save you"
✦ one thing you can expect from CAPRICORNS is keeping things real. They will say like it is and yes that also means no consideration for your heart sometimes cause they don't want anything based on lies, truth and loyalty are important to them
✦ A combination of Saturn and Pluto dominant in a chart 😵😰🥵
✦ Some of the songs from taylor swift album tortured poets like loml, so long London are so deep and heavily emotional perfectly showing her Scorpio Venus (pls never break a scorpio venus heart they're too soft <3)
✦ SATURN - PLUTO transits are scary especially in the 1, 4, 7, 10 houses....... pls y'all look out for yourself stay safe <3
Tumblr media
Thankyou for reading !!
Hope you liked and related 🤎
