"I don't know any jokes. But if you put me in a situation where for an hour I have to entertain you, I'll make you laugh. I don't know what's gonna happen and it might get pretty ugly." - Conan

I'm sorry for having basically disappeared from Tumblr, as I've been very busy lately, but I had to make room to honor this guy's birthday in the best way I could. I'll be back soon, promise!
Happy 62nd birthday, Coco!!!
Here's to the living proof that yes, amazing things do happen if you work hard and are kind. And also proving that the real secret out there is to remain open-minded and, really, young at heart.
We love you, Conan Christopher! 🧡🧡🧡

Conan O’Brien media archive
As a rule of thumb I avoid any movie streaming services or other ways to download that aren't totally virus free, etc. so these links lead to Drive, archive.org, and YouTube or other trusted media sharing sites.

The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien (2009-2010) | archive.org
The show he briefly inherited from Leno which would cause the infamous TV war between them. Conan would leave NBC for TBS after this. All 145 Conan episodes that aired are in here.
Conan Without Borders (2018) | dailymotion
A series of specials that aired on Conan where he travels various countries. The precursor to the 2024 show. Filmed during the height of the Trump administration which is reflected in a lot of the jokes, topics, and other parts of the show. Various clips are also avaliable on YouTube. Conan's started travelling again!! 🧡 I'm so happy 🧡🧡
The world somehow seems more exciting now, with the prospect of Conan feet walking along new lands. Even if it is a very long shot that he'll ever visit central Florida. ;.; I won't give up hope though!

ACOTAR OCs: Vanserra Brothers
This is apart of a series of posts where I share depictions and short bios of Original Characters I have developed in various fanfics. All art displayed was created using the Crowesn Tiefling Maker Picrew.
This is a deep dive into my depiction of the Vanserra Brothers. I've also included Eris and Lucien Vanserra because I couldn't make the other five brothers without making them too. They are listed oldest to youngest.
Eris Vanserra (not an OC): Oldest brother and presumed heir to Autumn, Eris has the weight of his family on his shoulders. He toes the line, holding his spot as heir by slipping under his father's thumb to protect his family and his mate, Alexius (male OC; see Autumn Partners), meticulously moving every chess piece across the board.
Conan Vanserra (deceased): As the second oldest, Conan was shaped by Beron's hand as the spare. Brutal and cut throat, Conan is Beron's strongest weapon, living in his image, and being twisted into a male who has little regard for others. After the murder of Jesminda (see Canon Characters) which Conan played executioner, he is killed by Lucien and Tamlin at the border of Spring.
Kian Vanserra: Kian leans more into being a scholar and courtier in Beron's court. His skills lie in his charm and ability to make friends anywhere he goes. However, his charm only goes so far, as his cunning ways sometimes gets him into hot water with those he double crosses in gambling halls. He's sarcastic and a thrill seeker, which includes taking risks with lovers that brings him to a place that not even his older brother Eris can save him.
Cael Vanserra (deceased): Fraternal twin with Rory, Cael is team Conan in the rivalry between the oldest brothers. Court citizens refer to him as Conan's henchmen, as Conan is the only one able to tame him. He is known for terrorizing small folk, especially on drunken tirades leaving taverns, and rumors swirl about his involvement in the bodies that appear around the Blood Tree that mysteriously end after his death at the border of Spring.
Rory Vanserra: Stoic and severe, Rory used to have a defined place in Conan's crew, but in his new reality where Eris rules them all, he feels caught between the living and the dead. He follows orders, inheriting the role as Beron's fist after his brothers' deaths. Living on the border of Autumn and Winter, Rory secretly visits Ada (female OC; see Autumn Partners), widow to Conan and now banished from Autumn.
Callum Vanserra: Decades younger than his brothers and the last son of Beron and Orla (see Canon Characters), Callum is "the useless one" in Beron's eyes. Callum devotes himself as Eris' right hand, eager to see his brother on the Autumn throne. Although Eris keeps him at arms length, Callum sees than his older brother realizes. When his arranged marriage to Lorna (female OC; see Autumn Partners) becomes more than a political match, his loyalties are tested.
Lucien Vanserra (not an OC): Banished from Autumn, the fateful night of Jesminda's death (see Canon Characters) haunts Lucien. He once loved the Autumn forests, as he called them his home escaping the horrors of The Forest House as the seventh and presumed bastard brother of his mother Orla (see Canon Characters). In his eyes, each of his living brothers were complicit in her death, but destiny has plans for Lucien that brings him back to Autumn centuries later, this time with his mate Elain Archeron.

I was watching Conan Without Borders with my dad, and when the episode with Palestine came up, I felt a pain in my chest and my stomach. Horrified, knowing that all of those beautiful people, all of those bright souls that he was speaking to, exploring with, they're all 100% dead. It hurts. Free Palestine. 🇵🇸

arthur conan doyle had a...complicated attitude towards women to say the least, but his approach of "gender equality" (for lack of a better term) regarding fainting and "dying of fright" in the stories validates men and women. while frankly we don't know acd's thought process regarding this topic, but even if he wouldn't agree with the points below (which is highly probable), i still hold these views as legitimate. as both men and women experience these conditions it undercuts the idea that solely women are "weak and hysterical." men are presented as having the same reactions in a comparable situation as women. this behavior, which is mostly observed with sympathy and without judgment of perceived weakness by holmes and watson, takes a significant step towards acknowledging and accepting the emotionality of victorian men that borders on the vulnerable. again, it equally disrupts the social more that women are "prone to irrational hysterics" which indicated to men an inferior mind and that their interpretation of events to be unreliable, thus easily dismissed. these interpretations and recognitions, though i'm certain they were not shared by the general victorian public, play an important part in characterization and the overall environment in the canon.

On 10th July 1802 Robert Chambers, the Scottish naturalist and publisher, was born.
I wonder how many of you out there have owned a Chambers dictionary? We always had one in our household growing up, mainly for checking words while playing scrabble.
Two brothers, Robert and William Chambers founded the company that published the book also played a major part in the growth of 19th century writing and publishing in Scotland and the development of the city of Edinburgh.
William and Robert Chambers were part of a relatively prosperous Borders mill owning family with deep roots in Tweeddale. William the elder was born in 1800 and his brother Robert on this day, two years later.
Their father lost his business in 1814 and the family upped sticks and moved to Edinburgh. Life in the capital began in a tenement flat in Nicholson Street. It was a “second rate street home to other families with limited means.” They remained there for less than a year before moving to an even poorer area of the city.
William took up a job as an apprentice in a booksellers, his early jobs being cleaning and lighting the fire, preparing the oil lamps and running errands, but it put him in god stead for his oncoming years. He took lodgings in The West Port, his brother later joining him, but was jobless, William helped support his sibling, he then suggested Robert, using the last few books from his father’s house in Peebles open a small bookshop in Leith, the family business was born. Within a short time William also opened a bookshop close to his brother.
A small printing press was acquired and together the brothers turned to publishing. They printed, bound and published a range of books including 750 copies of the Songs of Robert Burns, a best-seller in 19th century Edinburgh.
It was perhaps inevitable that both would turn to writing and together they wrote and published the Kaleidoscope a fortnightly periodical. Half a century later William reflected on the struggle to produce the journal. “The mechanical execution of the literary serial sorely tested the powers of my little press which received sundry claspings of iron to strengthen it for the unexpected duty.” Although the Kaleidoscope didn’t last long, life was getting better. It was, “a small trial of one’s wings.”
Thanks to a commission from Walter Scott William and Robert moved home again as their business continued to develop. By 1832 the first edition of the Chambers Edinburgh Journal was published. It was an immediate and unprecedented success with 30,000 copies sold in Scotland and a further 20,000 in England. As well as publishing pieces by Walter Scott between 1879 and 1895, the magazine published 3 short stories and 1 article written by Arthur Conan Doyle. Initially Robert was only a contributor but after the 14th issue he became joint editor and W and R Chambers was founded.
I really should only be covering Robert in this post, but I have to tell you a bit about William, who rose to become Lord Provost of Edinburgh, in that position he helped save the life of a stray dog that was going to be rounded up and destroyed as he never had a license. Hearing of the poor dog William himself paid for the license, a collar for the dog and feeding bowl that can still be seen in The Museum of Edinburgh. Without this act of kindness we might not know the extraordinary tale of Greyfriars Bobby!
Anyways, back to we brother Robert. In 1844 Robert published, anonymously, the Vestiges of the Natural History of Creation, 15 years before Darwin’s Origin of the Species. It received very mixed reviews. One said that, “there was a fair chance of poisoning the fountains of science and sapping the foundations of religion.” Another took an opposing view by saying the book was like a, “breath of fresh air to workmen in a crowded factory.”
William and Robert Chambers achieved much in their lives but perhaps their greatest satisfaction came from the purchase of their Scottish Borders home 40 years after their father had been forced to give it up.

Random AU concept that I have no idea how I can come up with.
If you guys have been on TikTok for long enough, chances are you have seen MLP Infection AU on your FYP somehow, that got me thinking "What if we have an infection AU but for DCMK?", then I thought, "I can get inspiration from Movie 14's virus! (the one released by the Red Siamese Cat) but it's actually a real virus that has been released instead of being a fake virus. So, here is some basic information I have in mind, if you have any suggestions, feel free to inform me through reblogs or comments.
The Skin rash virus AU
The skin rash virus is a virus with no known cure, this virus was released by a terrorist group named the Red Siamese Cat. They set bombs in a science lab in an attempt to terrorize the media, little do they know, that they have caused an apocalypse in all of Japan. while developing a plan to steal the priceless statues, one of their members was infected, At first, they brushed it off, only considering it as an allergic reaction but later they discovered that it was more dangerous than they thought and soon, almost all of the members had been infected, but some of the members that aren't aware of their own infection still stick to their plan without realizing they are of the infected. Meanwhile, Conan, Ran, Korogo, and many others are planning to capture Kaito KID on his heist to get the Lady Sky jewel. But then, a few days later, a news report came up, explaining that a dangerous virus that has no known cure, was released by the Red Siamese Cat, The news also stated that there have been cases of people experiencing rashes, itchy skin, and even infection. The virus spread so fast that hundreds to thousands of people were infected and started to attack others spreading the virus even faster. Those who managed to escape and survive formed groups to gather the remaining resources and try to stay safe before neighboring countries could send help. Some nearby countries have to close their borders to prevent the virus from getting into their country. The Mouri's and many others form a group of survivors that can provide medical care, food, and shelter to smaller groups. Some of the scientists who have been working for the laboratory survived and are helping to research a cure and with little information about the virus, hopefully they can find a cure.
This is the basic story and I still need to develop a plot for this AU, unfortunately, my writing skills are not that great, so if you guys have any plot ideas I would love to hear them.

Conan O'Brien Must Go (prod. Jeff Ross).
Max's new travel comedy show, an extension of the fan-favourite Conan Without Borders episodes of O'Brien's previous TBS talk show, brings the same kind of energetic silliness to the comedian's trademark humour. While ostensibly under the guise of visiting one of his foreign fans calling into his Conan O'Brien Needs A Friend podcast who invite him to their home country, the idiot abroad format mixed with the delightful randomness of the host's interactions is still just as amusing twenty-eight years later.

It's time for Beginnings, the podcast where writer and performer Andy Beckerman talks to the comedians, writers, filmmakers and musicians he admires about their earliest creative experiences and the numerous ways in which a creative life can unfold.
On today's episode, I talk to Emmy-winning comedy writer Mike Sweeney. Since childhood, Mike wanted to be in showbiz, but family issues prevented him from pursuing stand-up until his late 20s. Stand-up led to writing on shows like Short Attention Span Theater and Politically Incorrect, and in 1995, he joined the writing staff of the then two-year-old Late Night with Conan O'Brien. In 2002, Mike became the head writer for Conan and stayed with the show through its transition to the Tonight Show in 2009 and then after that, to the TBS version of the show, which ended in 2020. Since then, Mike has stayed busy doing many things, among them working as the head writer for That's My Time with David Letterman and as a producer on Conan Without Borders.
