Anyway the difference between Bal and Nimona is like yes they're both outcasts and Balister has a noticable case of impostor syndrome reinforced by his social circle and pressure from the very head of the goverment, yet he still had pieces of privilige over Nimona, who he automatically, in a trained motion, tried to pull a sword on the second he figured she was Too Different even for his taste.

Then ofc we had Nimona putting up with it cuz she really needed this guy. After a while of laying awake with his thoughts, Louis had only just fallen asleep, when he heard the faint melody from "Waltz of the Snowflakes." Of course, he immediately knew whom he was going to find sitting on his desk. He had not dreamt of dancing with his nutcracker in a while, especially since taking real ballet classes, and he was a little confused why he'd appear again now. There was no need for Sammy to teach him anything that he could learn from his teachers anyway.

The mention of his teachers was immediately regretted, when Sammy suddenly disappeared in a shimmering cloud, instead appearing right next to Louis - but looking and sounding just like Miss Lambert. Louis was barely able to stutter a few words, when the figure next to him disappeared again, appearing in front of him as Mr Booth, gently caressing his face.

The thoughts were racing in circles inside Louis's brain. Only when he covered his eyes, letting out a quiet mix between a scream and a groan, could he finally utter some coherent words again. Sammy seemed to think his humiliation was the funniest thing in the world, as he could hardly stop laughing at him. However, he was quick to make up for it, spinning the topic back to the dance he promised to begin with. And dance they did.

Woke up from a dream where I was objectively unveiling a horrible criminal, I was doing an ace attorney style takedown, but I had ALSO objectively wronged the victim. To ensure the full unopposed no doubts power of my case I had doctored the evidence to frame this defendant for what I know I did. The drama and stress of not flinching or faltering as I presented this all in my closing argument woke me up LOL

Also the setting vibes of this were sporadically uncanny valley and monstrous. Crimes commit here seriously involved lying about indescribable cosmic entity to control the victim, for unknown reasons

I should tell him, Albert thinks as the semi truck gains speed in the lane next to them, putting the car in its blind spot. He can see the semi changing lanes, can hear the crunch of metal as their car is crushed by 18 tires goong 60 miles an hour.

Mycroft adjusts his speed, and the car reappears in the truck's sideview mirror.

Speech continue to assualt Albert's ears, unprocessed. He breathes in through his nose, carefully as they gain on the car in front of them.

Mycroft slows, and the truck passes, followed by another.

They are too close to the car in front of them. Traffic will slow, they will need to brake, it will not be enough time. They can't see over the tall trailer.

Albert can hear the crunching of metal as silver paint rubs and rips and tears.

He takes another breath through is nose and tries to tell himself that this is a totally normal following distance.

I should tell him, Albert thinks again.

But he doesn't want to know.

He breaths in and looks out toward the river to the right. It sparkles in the sunlight, unimpeded by traffic or panic attacks.

Details speed along faster than he can hear them.

Is it worth telling Mycroft he isn't listening? That he can't listen? That the panic is bubbling up inside?

He smiles, catches enough words to make an educated response, and returns to watching the rest of the river as they finish their crossing.
