I am back once again to post my 2 cents on Thomas’ most current playlist:
March’s Covers That Are Better Than The Originals (?)
I loved going through this because it might be one of his most polarizing playlists haha! What songs did you like? 😅

romance: untold showcases their growth as people and artists really well. it’s reflective of themes and ideas they explored in orange blood but it’s refined to something darker, a dawn vs dusk sort of comparison. they did really well at this album and I very proud of them. I think it also showcases their vocals very well and I’m glad to see them change and develop their own artistic identity as both a group and individual artists.

Rest in peace Steve Harwell 🤘😔 In remembrance, I would like to share this archive I made of an obscure EP of School House Rock songs he covered in some kind of promotion with the Mervyn’s department store that I found at a thrift store that doesn’t appear to exist anywhere else online.

If you haven't yet discovered the amazing Middle Aged Dad Jam Band, OR if , like me, you miss Schoolhouse Rock, you might get a kick out of this.

man I don't know why but as I'm lying here in bed trying to sleep at midnight
it occurs to me that I know every schoolhouse rock song by heart to this day
do they even show those bops to kids anymore?

so, this is funny. genxer here. i've talked about being genx before. one of the things you kids will never experience are the same cultural touchstones that we all share, collectively, as a generation.
in high school, during dances, it was like something out of Fame. everyone knew the dances, everyone knew the songs. everyone did them. we had call & responses. we had these bizarrely, almost bugsy berkeley choreographed things we'd all do. it was insane, and it all grew organically.
go up to any genx and say, "conjunction junction" and they will say
youtube
underrated point of difference in the conventions of ancient and modern theatre is that the ancient chorus is all one gender and age group while a modern ensemble is more usually mixed, at least in terms of gender. must consider this more.
