It's been a day, I'm exhausted, it was a good day, but I cried badly, I'm trying to regulate my emotions rn bc again... Crazy day, hopefully tomorrow will be as good but without all the crazy, I might take a break from everything and read tonight,,, i need to recharge 😥

I'm glad my friend dragged me to the con (lvl up expo) with her but i wish i had more time to prepare especially after all the financial turmoil April brought, thankfully I was still able to use some cash I saved up and I got some stickers and a picture with Robbie Daymond :)

He's surprisingly short, but I'm also 5'0 so it makes him look taller lmao, I'm glad I had made this imogen cosplay last year, came in a clutch 💀

(the boots did bruise my feet again LOL maybe a sign to not wear them again.... Oops) eventually I can upgrade the cosplay or do the new outfit since I thrifted most of this one, but I can reuse several parts :0

I finished my cosplay in time for the con!!! It had an amazing time and a surprising amount of people actually recognized my Verosika cosplay!

Also the con even reposted my pic on their status!!!

I'm still not sure how I feel about posting pics of me on this blog which is why all of these are sorta positioned to hide my face (thus they aren't the best pics but eh this blog is a personal diary not a cosplay blog)

I'm gonna be honest looking forward to this con has been the main thing getting me through this month and I'm happy to say it didn't disappoint.

The day con was great (tho I think next time I go to a con I'd like to spend more time making new friends. Compared to my first few cons nowadays I mostly just hang out with the people I already know)

Then me and my friend drove around and got food to kill the hour before the night even started

The night event was super fun, 18+, and chaotic. Even if the food that was supposed to be served came super late (not surprising for this con as it always seems to have something go wrong with it's food. I swear it's like they're cursed!)

I changed up my cosplay a bit to be a bit more comfy and much warmer for the night!

overall it was a 10/10 con experience and definitely got me hyped for our big con that's coming up in July!

There was also a lot of cool artists that I bought so much stuff from :) I cannot control myself when I see a small artist at a con 😅

Probably not surprising but I'm a Barbara Gordon cosplayer. I used to do a lot of pjo cosplays actually, I do more comic stuff now though. Gwenpool, Wondergirl (Cassie Sandsmark), Spider-Woman (Jessica Drew). But also horror movie characters because I adore horror movies so much I love them!

I've been cosplaying for 5 years, conventions are very important part of my life. I actually volunteer at them, and host panel (yes, Batman panels). I've been trying to make my family cosplay actually it's a work in progress.

My partner cosplays with me, which is awesome. Honestly cosplay helped me during a dark time, and means the world to me.

Saw a video today about someone who gave out bracelets at their first pride and people kept trying to pay them even though they were gifts, and between that and people taking about trading bracelets at Käärijä gigs, I kind of miss making things to give out to people at conventions.

Obviously like, I had a lot more free time and spare money back then, and I went to more meet ups at cons because you know, I was in my 20s and didn't feel ridiculously too old. But it was fun, you know?

When I was in the Welcome to Night Vale fandom I made "Glow Cloud" pendants out of glow in the dark polymer clay and handed them out to people. I made badges that said "This is my Cecil Palmer cosplay" and gave those out even though I was actually dressed as Bill Cipher at the time*.

In the Star Wars (or specifically Kylux) fandom I made a fuck ton of badges and gave them out - ones that said "The Backup Dancers of Ren", ones with pictures of Kylo that said "punk ass bitch", ones with pictures of Hux that said "ginger minx", ones that said "Kylux Trash"...

I made hexagonal First Order logo cookies.

I made A LOT of cookies over the years actually. Kaiju ones as Newt Geiszler, umbrellas and wizard hats as Taako from The Adventure Zone... I think one time I brought cupcakes with "gold" on them as Thorin Oakenshield.

I also made like, ones with umbrellas and question marks on them when I was Oswald Cobblepot but it turns out people at LFCC are not as keen to take food off strangers as the ones at MCM. Fuck, at MCM when I was handing out those First Order cookies I got mobbed, and one lady dressed as Kylo sent her adorable little daughter (dressed as Rey) to get a cookie off me... I was Hux at the time.

Even paper stuff - I gave out Fantasy Costco coupons as Garfield the Deals Warlock, I gave out prophecies as Aziraphale, gave out cards with riddles on them as The Riddler - or stuff I didn't make - I left someone a big plastic jewel on their table (along with you know, the actual money) when I bought a holographic sticker off them dressed as Taako...

Idk I just like giving people gifts.

*(When I did this I did so by leaning over a railing and yelling to a group of WTNV cosplayers on the other side "Night Vale people! Send over a representative, I have gifts!" Soneone came and took the bag from me, puzzled, and a few moments later two other people ran over to the railing and thanked me profusely - one gave me a little laminated paper and safety pin Night Vale badge off their own costume and I kept it for years)
