After Jasper’s shattering, but before Steven’s corruption, Amethyst talks one on one with Jasper about everything happening. It ends with the two fusing over a new found, yet slightly overdue, friendship. Or siblingship, even.
However, even after being healed from corruption, gems still carry that corruption and it can be triggered once more by simply fusing. The only difference is the process of corruption is far longer and isn’t noticed until its too late for simple healing.
This time is well enough for Amethyst to fuse with Garnet, Pearl, and Steven through Alexandrite and Smokey Quartz, and for Lapis to want to give fusion a small try with Steven, and for Pearl to shoot her shot with Bismuth(and end up fusing). Steven’s only effect through this is a dimming of his powers due to his half human side, but his gem friends and family, after a good week or two, are now unfamiliar monsters.
After the visit with the diamonds he’s getting increasingly stressed out day by day and could swear he’s getting more angry by the day as he tries to ‘round up’ a corrupted Ruby, Sapphire, Pearl, Amethyst, Jasper, Lapis, and Bismuth, with merely the help of Greg, Connie, and Peridot. Then he has to talk to the diamonds of all, again, about visiting Rose’s fountain again.
He could’ve sworn there were spikes on his head when he looked in the mirror. Maybe that was just one of his dreams, though.

new headcanon unlocked: while blaze can use the sol emeralds to freely travel between the sol and chaos dimensions, sonic and gang haven't figure out how to use the chaos emeralds to do the same thing, and the only time it happened in rush adventure neither of them had the time to get to the bottom of the specifics

In regards to the SU x TF2 AU:
I have been racking my brain over here trying to understand the decision to make RED Spy a ruby and BLU Spy a sapphire. Nothing about his portrayal seemed to line up with canon depictions of rubies or sapphires, and RED Spy's gem isn't even faceted like a ruby. Also the obvious joke of making him a Bixbite, like the corrupted gem who was a giant crab, seemed obvious. Then it dawned on me.
He's a color-change sapphire, isn't he? That's why his RED version has a sapphire cut despite supposedly being a ruby? And also potentially why he's the only one we've seen RED and BLU variations of (though I get the impression that's also so one can be paired with Scout's Ma and the other with Engie) when all the others have been RED(-ish) isn't it? Or am I completely off base with this theory?
i LOVE your theory i wish you shared your thoughts before i elaborated the ‘lore’ of the au
but since ive had lots of questions about details id like to mention that:
1. i originally had not planned to make any story behind the su au, so if there’s things that dont make sense, don’t align with canon and stuff, it was not planned soo im working with what i have :p
2. i was hoping no one notices the mistake i made of swapping the gems ruby/sapphire lol its because at first i had drawn Blu(sapphire) Spy in that page, but i thought it was confusing since there was RedSpy x Scout’sMa and Scout next to him, so i just changed the colors and i didnt change the gem bc i was lazy :P
Tumblr media Tumblr media
3. the main reason i put both Blu/Red Spy was to create fusion, i thought to add an extra merc with a blu color would be cool for the fusions that isnt from ClassicTeam, and idk i couldn’t think of a better merc to have as a pair than Spy and i thought there is more potential with 2 Spies to work on a story than any other merc idk
Tumblr media
(yes i didnt put garnet as the fusion so as not to make confusion with Demoman being a Garnet, and we don’t have an Amethyst anyways so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )
Tumblr media
4. it is IMPOSSIBLE to align each TF2 character with a SU character, there’s nothing in common between the two medias whatsoever, so the dynamics that im gonna be making for the TF2 au are gonna be a bit mixed, for example: RedSpy and BluSpy having Ruby/Sapphire’s dynamic (kinda), but also they have the same dynamic as Rose/Pearl, for the part where Red would go with a human (Scout’s Ma) and Blu would be jealous (just like pearl), HeavyMedic also would be having Ruby/Sapphire dynamic (the part where they fuse for the first time just like Ruby/Sapphire in the show, im still working on comic about this btw)
Tumblr media
5. also im mixing with well TF2 canon story + trying really to make an original story too, soo its a whole mess ik :p im trying just bear with me ^^"
but thank you for pointing that out, it makes me happy knowing people actually pay attention to details thats super fun! ill make sure to not miss any details next time! :D

LARS OF THE STARS WISHLIST!!
EXPLORING THE CASTE SYSTEM! the gem system was highly complex and damaging(even to steven) so I want to explore it and how it works through a relatively unbiased lens(lars)
expanding padparadscha!! to me she feels like sapphire before she met Ruby. she can only speak in terms of what she predicts and nothing else. I want padparadscha to go through something that allows her to "open her eyes" I guess and help her become more of a person
rhodonite story..self explanatory..
I want to see more about gem politics and religion. we know that the moon/sun goddess statues relate to gem religion so I want to know more about that and how it aided/worked against the diamonds and their rule. and since the colonies are now all separate planets I'm assuming they all have their own politics too. I want more on the parties for different planets and such..PLEASE..
diamond origins..haha..
PLEASE LET MY CORRUPTED BABIES HAVE A CAMEO
I want to learn more about flourite!! I want to see her components.. these are my predictions..
Tumblr media
I'm sure whatever it is it'll be really good..I've been steven universe's biggest fan for years so I'm so happy it's back!!! I'm asserting dominance as THE steven universe CEO and biggest fan thank you(^з^)-☆

Lily’s Surface-Level Analysis: A Shallow Approach to Media
Lily’s media critiques are often shallow, reactionary, and plagued by her fundamental incuriosity and black-and-white thinking. Rather than engage with deeper themes, allegory, or metaphor, Lily tends to take everything at face value. This refusal to explore nuance not only weakens her media analysis but also reflects her broader pattern of impulsiveness and her need for clear-cut narratives where she’s always right.
Incuriosity and the Demand for Simplicity
Lily’s incuriosity is one of her most defining traits. She’s openly hostile to recommendations from her audience, dismisses ideas that challenge her perspective, and refuses to put in the effort to understand concepts that aren’t immediately obvious. This mental laziness extends heavily into her media analysis, where she consistently refuses to dig beneath the surface.
She’s shown time and time again that she’s uninterested in doing the work to engage with complex narratives — unless they’re spoon-fed to her in the most direct, unambiguous terms. If a story requires thoughtful interpretation or subtlety, Lily will reject it as “poorly written” rather than admit she overlooked key themes.
Misunderstanding Metaphor
A prime example of this is her infamous take on Steven Universe, where she criticized the series for “locking Ruby and Sapphire inside Garnet,” arguing that it erased their relationship. This fundamentally misunderstands the entire point of Garnet’s character — that Garnet is the relationship. The show’s creators didn’t "lock them away"; they used Garnet to symbolize the stability, love, and partnership between Ruby and Sapphire.
Lily’s inability (or unwillingness) to grasp this metaphor speaks volumes about her approach to media. Rather than engaging with the emotional depth and symbolism, she dismissed it outright because it wasn’t spelled out for her.
Black-and-White Thinking and Binary Judgments
This shallow thinking also ties into Lily’s intense black-and-white worldview. For her, stories must be explicit and direct — anything that requires interpretation risks being twisted into something “bad.” She’s deeply uncomfortable with ambiguity, which limits her ability to analyze complex narratives.
If a creator attempts to convey themes through subtext, Lily often assumes they’re being “cowardly” or “lazy.” She demands that stories explicitly state their messages and avoids narratives that require patience, thought, or introspection. This leads her to label media as “bad” simply because it doesn’t align with her narrow expectations.
Her fixation on absolutes further weakens her critiques. If a creator compromises with studio executives, Lily will dismiss their work as inherently corrupt or “selling out.” She’s openly stated that she has “no sympathy” for creators who face pushback from their studios, claiming they should “just fight harder” — a statement that reveals how little she understands real-world creative industries.
Impulsiveness and Superficial Analysis
Lily’s impulsive nature — her tendency to act without thinking or planning — also shapes her shallow media critiques. Much like her frequent lies and contradictions, her media takes are driven by gut reactions rather than careful thought.
This was especially evident during her Dragon Age video series, where she skipped through key dialogue, ignored lore, and then confidently declared the series poorly written — despite missing crucial information that would’ve explained the very things she criticized. Instead of admitting fault, she doubled down, presenting her shallow interpretation as if it were objective truth.
Her impulsive style means she’s often unwilling to revisit her initial conclusions. Once she’s decided something is “bad,” she rarely reflects or revises her stance — even when presented with evidence that she misunderstood the material.
Control and Refusal to Learn
Lily’s refusal to engage deeply with media is also tied to her need for control. Just as she manipulates conversations, cuts off critics, and deletes inconvenient evidence, her media critiques are an attempt to dominate the narrative. By presenting herself as an authority while ignoring key details, she ensures her audience can’t challenge her without directly calling her out — something she actively discourages.
She also actively dissuades her viewers from seeking out additional perspectives, framing her own takes as the only valid interpretation. This echoes her tendency to erase conflicting narratives in her personal life — like her shifting stories about Stockholm or her manipulation of events to paint herself as a perpetual victim.
The Result: Shallow, Performative Criticism
Lily’s incuriosity, binary thinking, and need for control culminate in media “critiques” that are ultimately performative rather than insightful. Instead of exploring themes, dissecting symbolism, or considering alternative perspectives, she relies on surface-level reactions designed to reinforce her own biases.
Her fans — conditioned to take her word as gospel — rarely push back, further encouraging Lily’s lazy analysis. And when those who do understand the material criticize her, she dismisses them as “obsessive stalkers” or deliberately misrepresents their arguments to avoid accountability.
In the end, Lily’s shallow critiques reveal far more about her own flaws than they do about the media she discusses. They reflect her refusal to challenge herself, her desperate need for control, and her unwavering belief that her first impression is always correct — no matter how ill-informed or incomplete it may be.

Probably a dumb question, but is that first corrupted gem still in the kindergarten or did the Crystal Gems catch her?
This is a deep pull, but this was actually mentioned in Season 2!
When Garnet and Steven went to the Kindergarten for the first time.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So yes, Garnet ended up catching her.
Though I imagine that it also involved a lot of Looney Toons hijinks with Ruby and Sapphire, just because that's more fun.

thinking about garnet breaking down before the strawberry field battle. sapphire and ruby keep unfusing and saphire won’t tell her why because that will make it worse. sapphire can’t back out of the battle either, bc if she does ruby will end up corrupted and pearl would end up shattered.
garnet lives the couple weeks leading up to it constantly unfusing, having ruby beg sapphire to explain, sapphire denying that anything is wrong, and then refusing even more unstable. they can barely fuse before the battle but sapphire knows that they have to be garnet during that battle or it’ll be so much worse. after they get back they don’t fuse for a couple weeks and ruby just keeps apologizing bc she feels like she made living with that knowledge worse
