this is just a silly animal-crossing-style portrait of the party i ran curse of strahd for back in april - i really upended a lot of the lore to tell a story i thought my players would enjoy

from right to left: sergei - a human paladin in full plate and yellow, who wields the bronze sun spear and is head-over-heels for his childhood best friend ireena. he's got dark gray eyes and hair, small brows, light tan skin, and a cat-like mouth. he's emotionally intelligent and has a knack for training horses. he was originally supposed to die in a fight against strahd so that another character could wield the spear in his place. but my players wouldn't let him die and haunt the narrative!! they were way more attached to him and smart than i thought they'd be!!! ireena - a human fighter/barbarian in dark green leather armor, holding an ax and sword. she has auburn hair, scarlet eyes, and tan skin. she's been targeted as the latest incarnation of strahd's most toxic crush. unfortunately for strahd, ireena is a person with a functioning brain, and, as such, does NOT like his ass. she kicks total ass and cares so deeply for the people of the valley that she upends her entire life to kill strahd. i love ireena sm may - a hexblood monk in crop top and mesh, with small dots all over her body and no hair. she has four dark blue eyes and long fangs. may is an adopted daughter of baba lysaga, and followed her mom into barovia when her mother got trapped there. at some point, may was "cursed" with an affinity for sourdough starter, and is seen here holding her pet yeast in a jar. may is such a sweet little monster <3 ceros - a leonin-gnoll warlock-ranger with brown fur and eyes, big ears, and a blonde mane. he holds an iron spear and wears light armor. ceros has a grudge against basically all vampires because of Trauma(TM). he got a tarot reading that said he was going to have kids and immediately dedicated himself to being a good dad. he started the campaign by getting married and ended it by going to someone else's wedding; absolutely obsessed with romance, this guy.

Species: Karakro

Appearance: Red resembles a blend between a peafowl and a hoatzin, with a lanky build, adorned by wheat and barley patterns along his wings, tail, and above his eyes. He sports a distinctive brown fabric hat that droops down, reminiscent of traditional farmers' attire. His long, green sickle claw has a barbed end, and he wears a red bandana around his neck, adding a pop of color to his earthy tones. Males like Red have elegant wheat-like tendrils sprouting from their "hood" for an added touch of flamboyance.

Personality: As the gatherer of the group, Red embodies a protective nature, often keeping an eye out for Ghost and Weirdo. Despite his somewhat rugged exterior, he possesses a heart of gold and is fiercely loyal to his makeshift family. His country accent, stemming from the Desert and Mesa regions, gives his speech a warm and inviting quality, making him relatable and approachable.

Role in Group: Protector and provider, ensuring that Ghost and Weirdo are safe and well-fed. ..

Ghost

Species: Oxytalis

Appearance: Ghost stands out with his dark green body accented by striking red and white features. His head resembles a sunflower seed, with a beak-like mouth and uncanny eyes that give him a somewhat eerie but intriguing appearance. Petal-like frills surround his head, adding a splash of color to his design, while the thorns protruding from his neck and shoulders create a fierce aesthetic. His three pairs of leaf-like wings vary in size, draping elegantly down his back. The intricate markings on his cape and the bloodstained patterns on his forelegs add layers to his character, hinting at a tumultuous past.

Personality: As the outcast of the group, Ghost grapples with feelings of abandonment but also possesses a resilient spirit. His voice has a slightly harsh quality, reflecting the hardships he’s faced, yet there’s a depth to his character that shines through moments of vulnerability. He often seeks acceptance and understanding from Red and Weirdo, clinging to their shared bond.

Role in Group: The misunderstood outcast, navigating his relationship with Red and Weirdo while learning to trust again.

Weirdo

Species: Ibetchi

Appearance: Weirdo is a small quadruped with a fox-like appearance, characterized by long, elegant tufts of fur on the sides of her head and three long tails that end in clawed hands. Drapes and ribbons in desaturated teal hang gracefully from her ears, neck, back, and tails, creating a whimsical, maternal look. The bell decorations add a charming touch, jingling softly as she moves, enhancing her nurturing presence.

Personality: Soft-spoken and nurturing, Weirdo serves as the mother figure of the group. Her calming voice carries warmth, making her a comforting presence for both Red and Ghost. She is vigilant and protective, often checking for danger and ensuring her "children" are safe as they navigate their unique lives together. Her pride in raising Red and Ghost showcases her fierce loyalty and love for them.

Role in Group: The mothering figure, providing guidance and care while fostering a sense of belonging for both Red and Ghost.

this isn't what any of you asked for but im feeling cos'y this morning

might as well post the art i do have of the one creature i have extensive lore for. sooooooooo

this is patch! hes a demetyra who grew cold and distant from reality after the loss of an incredibly close friend. he trains to one day wield the sword his friend left behind for him.

being abandoned at birth due to the dullness of his grass-like-fur, patch wandered around sonaria looking for a place to stay, usually hopping between place to place due to other predators around.

eventually one day he meets a young teen empitirium (currently nameless and designless, its been hard coming up w/ a skin but i think i have ideas now) who ends up taking patch in and treating him like family along with his erridia sister (belongs to a friend!).

days went by, life was great! but yknow, >.>
