yall i spent a good hour tryna figure out how to crochet a chain stitch (i was following a tutorial) and let me just say.. what the fuck

does wearing your hijab ever get uncomfortable physically? just from the tightness of it. I'm not sure how tight a hijab is because i've never worn one myself, but i had my hair in a bun all day with a bandana over top (bad hair day reasons) and I totally had a headache by the end. or does wearing it daily just mean you've gotten used to the feeling?

i think i have mostly gotten used to the feeling. actually, when i first started wearing it (cause i wear chiffon hijabs) my issue was that they werent tight enough. they kept slipping off and id have to keep bolting to a corner and crouch down to fix it while my friends / family stood around me protectively. or just hold it awkwardly until i got to a bathroom

nowadays, i think the only reason id get a headache is if its hot out and i go out in a hijab. i tend to wear lighter materials but god does it get hot.

i do sometimes get an issue when wrapping my hijab (i do it like the girl in this video except i dont tuck in the loose ends the way she did) when i pull it too hard around my head, it ends up leaving a red line below my chin if i wear it like that. i used to do that regularly (to make it look neat + in an attempt to make it not slip off) and i still have a faintly visible mark on my neck from that lol.

nowadays, tho, i make sure to rewrap it if i feel like its too tight <3

#personal #im so fucking sick of people #like i try to go out and do stuff and talk to people but when i try i js feel like people are mocking me #like yesterday i was returning a flare tights that i bought online and i usually hateee returning stuff #but i went to the physical store to return it and the woman at the register was so meannn #like i have curly long hair and it sheds more than ”normal“ hair ig and there was ONE strand of hair on the tights and she plucked it off #like slow and dramatic and looked at me with disgust #and then she held the pants up and there was like a piece of cotton or whatever its called on it and she plucked it off and she looked so #disgusted and she js talked to me in the worst tone but i finally got it returned #and there were so many people in line behind me #i just wanted to cry #and another thing #i hate going outside where i live bc my friend knows someone who lives in the building next to mine and that friend is like oddly obsessed #with me for some reason #and shes literally filmed me one time when i was on the same bus as her and sent it to my friend #and my friend thought it was hilarous #and my friend has only told me about her filming me once so idk if shes done it other times #but its so fucking uncomfortable and i already struggle sm with paranoia and feeling like im being watched #i just wanna isolate myself and hide from everyone im so fucking tired

#no they're not coulottes or whatever they're called #they're in cotton. COTTON.#not that weird itchy stretchy fabric i hate #but also they don't have that crotch part that you find in normal boxers that's a little annoying #and the elastic around the thigh is not too tight and also the fabric is not too long there so it doesn't rise when wearing pants #and they're good for the gender #which they know nothing about #they only know i like 'men' clothes because they are usually more comfortable and cheap #i recommend these

Found a pattern for boxer briefs that do not have a dick pouch nice

#those are the best bc they account for your hips bejng wider than your waist by quite a bit and they fit more comfortably #love the boxers i have but when i put them on they r tight as fuck on my ass and legs and the elastic waistband is barely stretched #but theyre cotton so they go from tight as fuck to baggy in 3 hours

Yknow I gotta say, I love sewing and a lot of ppl find a lot of body confidence or whatever from sewing. But for me I never felt bad about my body until every pattern I find is telling me I'm meant to have a 26 inch waist.

#I have a 30 inch waist for reference (I would use cm but none of these patterns use them!! Driving me nuts!)#(26in=66cm and 30in=76cm so you can see why I might feel a bit bad lol)#It's just frustrating bc it literally makes what I love doing SO much harder bc I can't fit standard sizing #And it makes certain things look SO weird on me #Like I'm lucky that I don't have to go through the hell plus size ppl have to but damn I just wish my proportions were normal #The reason my waist is so wide is bc I have high hips so I have hip dips and my waist measurement is basically the bottom of my ribcage #Which is so hellish bc if things are too tight around my waist or designed to compress it HURTS so bad and I can't breath #ON TOP OF THE SENSORY ISSUES!!#So I have to shorten patterns and expand the waist a full 10cm or bring in the bust 10cm #And I always just end up looking like a rectangle and not in a deliberate or nice way #Like I got into sewing bc I wanted things to FIT ME and I THOUGHT I was fine but turns out!#Fuckin everyone is a goddamn hourglass and I'm misshapen or some shit #And it fucks me off bc the only time I see ppl make adjustments its to expand the bust like everyone I see making these patterns #Is an hourglass and it drives me nuts bc still nothing fits me right and I'm a novice and it's so much extra work to try desperately to #get things to actually fit and I've never felt so bad about my body in my entire life #It just kinda sucks #Vent #Body image issues #Yeah damn not even cotton on made me feel so shit about myself #I think this is bc it's not even a beauty standard it's just a practical issue that makes things harder to do #Yeah sorry for the whining I'll probs delete bc this is so embarrassing like imagine complaining bc you don't have a tiny waist #That's so vain #But fuck I just need to get this out and if I talk to mum (only person I have to talk to) it will end w her yelling at me #I love her but she makes me feel worse about everything #Just super sucks bc I can't even use a garment designed to compress the waist #So then I don't have to modify every single goddamn thing #Just gonna be a sad rectangle forever
