you know i was initially going to answer with ivan but i think that's more an issue i have with the way people frame the ways that he's not a great person rather than the fact that he's actually that bad of a person, if this makes sense

it's not a particularly popular take these days, i think, but some people have really wanted to frame roderich as abusive based on the chibitalia arc and i am not gonna say he's never done anything wrong in his life, but the chibitalia stuff to me feels so slapsticky that i can't really take most of it that seriously wrt characterization, at least if you're only looking at it at face value lol, like the time he just fucking yeets baby vene out of a window. this also isn't to say i think he was actually a great person to vene specifically, based on either chibitalia or irl history, but. idk. (similarly this ties into a lot of my issues with early fandom especially's treatment of ivan, because early hetalia is so loaded with slapstick that 99% when people would cite things as being abusive it would be either wholly made up or citing things that were clearly meant to be like. loony tunes. lmao)

ehh? maybe just more general stuff abt the nation's cultures personally? i love to see it. not in a copy-paste way either, but how the characters personally relate to their cultures and areas they go against the norm.

i think with a lot of the main characters, hima did a good job at making them fit into their cultural norms, while also being their own people who sometimes say fuck u to whatever the rest of their people do. and i adore that.

Not yet, although I’m sure someone will give me shit for giving the Italies, Spain and Portugal tanned skin at some point. I portray them that way because I wanted them to look like my friends from those places, I am aware those countries are predominantly white but discoursers will discourse.

No idea, maybe more research on countries relationships like Canada and England as an example since a lot of people don’t seem to realize how close we as a country we still are to England Royal Red bros ftw

The incest debate. Who cares who raised who, they live for hundreds of years. You really think a relationship wouldn’t change between two immortals decades, or even centuries later? Same with blood, they are dirt, can they really be blood related??

Unfortunately, I've been here since 2014. I've seen a lot of bad takes. Oh, let's see if I can remember one. Oh, I remember one, it was someone who got genuinely mad because someone shipped UkFr instead of Fruk. Like they sent someone hate mail over it. I think it was an ask blog, but they're likely no longer around. 15. Any Juicy discord drama?

Not really. I'm only in one Hetalia server right now and it's really chill.

YES! I had a heacanon, circa (I believe) 2016 that had to deal with Germany, Prussia, and the Italian brothers and I got a long angry message about how I dared to compare Germany and Prussa to North and Southern Italy. I don't talk much about those characters anymore.

Ooh! I'm a very new blog as of when this is being written but I've been in the fandom for years, so thanks for the ask! I've definitely accumulated a few opinions over the years :)

1. Nyo!North Italy my adored, she just oozes warmth and confidence that her regular counterpart lacks in a certain way. She's fantastic. (I'm also a sucker for tied back hair, which Hetalia ladies usually lack!)

4. I'm half South African by blood and South African by Citizenship, so a representative of my country could be cool, but SA's past is particularly complicated and I feel like it would be *very* hard to make a rep for them. I tried several times over the years and each try was dissatisfying to me :/

So, as a substitute, I would LOVE to see Ecuador. I love his little scribbled doodle with the turtle (as my current icon probably says). Or maybe more of the Baltic states? Just,,, more of the world, really! I love the ASEAN gang so much.

18. This is so hard, god. I think that the NA Bros are classic, but I also love the Italy bros and the Germany bros, though Prussia's more like a Dad?? I like the dynamic where they're sharing a braincell (which all of the aforementioned three do), and where they're like, actual siblings? I have a younger sibling and the arguing and general dynamic of the NA bros and Italy bros is just,,, so on point.

5. LMAO this is twofold bc I won’t put someone on blast without saying that I had done the same thing first so:

back when I rp’d, there was a feliks blog I was interacting with a lot and we started chatting in dms and it took me an embarrassing amount of time to realize that it was actually @hinotorihime sfsfsd who was at the time relatively well known bc of her rusliet fics lol. but god played an uno reverse card bc @pokytoad and I were chatting and SHE didn’t realize that I was a fic writer she really liked sdsdss something something two nickels, sometimes funny things happen when you don’t use the same username across platforms and the three of us are good friends now!!

Alright now i have a question for you

What does Tianshi mean because I looked it up because I was thinking it had something to do with 天. So i did and i got many different meanings but one was this

"天时 Trad. 天時 tiān shí the time the right time weather conditions destiny course of time heaven's natural order."

And from my classes i know the translation of 天 isn't really best translated as heaven and has it's own unique definition of 天 which makes it sound cooler to me

That's definitely interesting! I love your note about tian 天 bc its so true and often gets overlooked, heaven has rlly strong christian connotations while the Chinese 天 despite having been co-opted by the missionaries has a meaning unique to Chinese folk religion and its influences (ie daoism buddhism etc)

I feel like the answer might be a little disappointing after that tho 😅 My tianshi is 天使 (tian1 shi3) meaning angel lol the reason is bc my western name is Angelina, which I chose at age 6 because of the dancing mouse on TV Angelina Ballerina, and I chose 天使 as my username in middleschool bc I'm Chinese and my name is Angel LOL
