Happy New Year!!

*pops grape juice bottle* woooo we’ve made it, guys!

2023 was such a nice year in the fandom, in my opinion. There was s3 and that was a banger, but I feel like the stuff we were up to ourselves over here was amazing too. I got to talk more with some of my mutuals who I hadn’t been as close to before, and lovely people keep coming to this corner of the internet!! We had our first sketchbook event and are currently preparing for a general Hilda Appreciation Week, I feel like this is all amazing considering the size of this community.

Just wanted to thank everyone who’s been here for the ride as well! It’s certainly always more fun when you have people to be insane with you. I just. Get very touched thinking about the amount of support in this fandom and how we creatively fuel each other.

Anyway, just wanted to write this post as a thank you. I hope you’re having a lovely end of the year, and may 2024 be even better 💜

(I do have one small writing update to add, though! The first months of the year will probably be relatively devoid of new content from me. This for two reasons. One is that I churned out so many fics this year that I feel like even the people who like my writing are having a hard time catching up (I don’t know how this happened either-), and the other is that I’ll be using my free time to get ahead on preparing my content for the rest of the year! I won’t completely stop or anything (Hilda Appreciation Week will see to that), just wanted to leave this noted so no one things I’ve Vanished from the fic writing scene or anything. I’m just preparing my next attack. Anyways that was it happy new year!!)

Hi so little idea for our new friend Mag Pyre

So, currently, in my brain, she (oh ya Mag uses she/they) starts as a Predacon but becomes a Maximal. The defect happens a little bit after Count Raven joins the Predacons.

Because all she really knows of Count Raven is that he keeps having mental breakdowns and is an asshole (as a coping mechanism. A really bad one, but still), Mag doesn’t really know what is happening between Crowbar and Count Raven.

So this leads to every time the bird exes meet and have their whole ordeal, Mag is treating it like a sit com. Initially, it’s like “so…is this normal?” To “ooooooooo the birds are fighting!!! Froggy, quick, grab the popcorn!” Meanwhile Froggy is most definitely going into the freeze response of fight/flight and Mag is not helping at all :)

✨ let’s do a twst trade ✨

This might be coming out of the blue. I’m typically a very private person and tend to stick with social circles I’m already familiar with.

Recently, I’ve been thinking that it would be nice to put myself out there and interact more! I can get easily overwhelmed, so I thought a good way to go about this is to do a handful of art/writing trades. This keeps the number low and conversation approachable, and I think that’d help slowly ease me into being more comfortable interacting and participating in community events.

Here are the parameters and other important notes (setting these for my own comfort and lifestyle):

This will be a Twisted Wonderland themed trade because that’s the one thing we can guarantee to have in common.

I’ll write a fic for you! Minimum 1-2k words (but I tend to ramble so it could easily go higher than that), starring at least 2 characters (I can write more, but let’s not go too crazy and ask for all 22 NRC students in one fic).

I CAN write platonic, romantic, angst, fluff, yandere, AUs, etc.

I’m okay with writing any and all TWST characters, including staff, RSA students, family members, and other NPCs.

Of course, OCs are also welcome! I’d love to learn more about yours.

Be prepared with references for your OC(s) if applicable. This could include illustrations, but at the bare minimum should include a written explanation of who the character is, their personality, likes/dislikes, and relationships with canon characters.

There are limits to what I will write, as I am uncomfortable with some subject matters. For example, I’m not willing to write anything pregnancy-related. We can discuss my “no goes” in more detail if we decide to trade!

Upon request, I can do a simple digital piece of art OR a washi tape illustration (you won’t receive the physical piece, just a picture of it) for you. I believe most people know me more for my writing, but I wanted to keep these options on the table!

You trade me a fic of your own OR an artwork of roughly the same quantity/quality. As the saying goes, “what you give is what you get.”

We will talk and agree before we start on our pieces what each of us will generally provide at the end. (For example, a 5k word fic for a full color waist up illustration, 1k word fic for a black-white doodle, etc.)

You have to be okay with receiving a vague prompt. I like to be surprised, so I’ll probably just give you a list of general themes, ideas, and characters I like, then set you loose to see what you come up with.

You can be as specific as you like with your own prompt for me though—I’m flexible. Let me know what you don’t like as well so I can avoid including those elements.

To keep things fair, we’ll both hold onto our pieces and exchange them at the same time.

Regarding my written piece, it will be in a Google Doc for you to access.

This is NOT first come, first serve. I can only realistically take on 3-5 trades at this time depending on interest and complexity. If I turn you down, it’s nothing personal!

Priority will be given to mutuals (chances are that there’s more likely to be common ground if we’re already following each other).

Preference will be given to those indicated as adults in their blog intros/profiles (this is just what vibes the best with my personal communication style).

Be patient!! It may take me a few weeks or more to complete my part.

Be aware that doing a trade with me does NOT necessarily mean we will become best friends, and nor should this be the expectation 😅

So, I decided to go ahead and reveal/talk about a few more of the main characters for my Fan Continuity, with the two humans included.

Andie Gray: She/Her/Herself, He/Him/Himself:

A human who, while on a walk to get to her college, stumbled across a few of the Decepticons and Autobots in the middle of a battle. Despite trying to ignore what was happening, and just get to college, he still gets roped into everything.

After a more proper introduction, she’s stuck with Wheeljack as a guardian. And although Andie is much more focused on his personal life, the human still sticks around the Autobots, while also deciding to try and help Wheeljack with his search.

“Raven” (Real Name Unknown): Any Pronouns:

A somewhat younger human who, while in the middle of running around, bumped straight into a deceased Cybertronian and Censere, who hadn’t expected this—neither of them did.

After an introduction, with the human giving anything but its real name, the decision to stick with each-other is made... but, Raven keeps a tiny secret—that others are looking for her—that he’s running—from Censere, and doesn’t plan on telling them.

Mirage: He/Him/Himself, They/Them/Themself, She/Her/Herself:

An outlier with the ability to turn invisible, as well as creating holograms of anything. While he may be an Autobot now, back on Cybertron—before they all arrived to their new home—Mirage had originally started out as a Decepticon.

Despite what side the outlier is on now, they know of a few Autobots who... don’t trust her, think of her as a spy—which doesn’t help when the outlier can come off as a little suspicious. Mirage is rather tired of all this, though.

Starscream: No Pronouns:

A Decepticon who, originally, was the Second in Command, even after everyone arrived on the new planet. However, when Megatron suddenly goes missing—no Autobot or Decepticon being able to find him—much to the disappointment from other ‘Cons, the Seeker becomes the new leader.

Starscream will make sure it all stays this way.

Ambulon: They/Them/Themself:

The only remaining Cybertronian medic on Earth... due to Ratchet being missing, First Aid’s death back on Cybertron, and Pharma.. they don’t talk about Pharma.

Originally a Decepticon before joining the Autobots shortly before the arrival on Earth, they discover that they’re treated far better than how some treat Mirage.

Shortly after their switch to the Autobots, Ambulon suffered horrible damage, which still affects them, but they remain a medic, helping their fellow Autobots.

Soundwave: They/Them/Themself, It/It’s/Itself:

Originally the Third in Command, they became the new Second in Command when Megatron suddenly went missing, and Starscream became the new leader... which is a rather unfortunate thing.

They’ve noticed certain things—like how several Cybertronians have started to just disappear. Ratchet, Megatron... all of its minicons. Deciding to get to the bottom of this, Soundwave starts digging—wanting to find its real leader and minicons.

Thundercracker: He/Him/Himself (FtM):

After Megatron disappeared, making Starscream the new leader, and Soundwave the new SiC, Thundercracker found himself in the position of the new TiC. Although, many of the Decepticons start noticing how strange Thundercracker has been since arriving to Earth.

Sure, they all know a few things about him—such as when he created a film once, a few months after everyone’s arrival. But, there’s two little things that he keeps sneaking away for... two friendships that he doesn’t want to be found out—for fear for what could happen. Not to him, but them.
