Alexander married Queen Anora in a lavish ceremony six months after her coronation, becoming the prince-consort of Ferelden. Many said that if the two did not end up vying for control of the throne, they would usher in a new golden age not seen since King Calenhad first united the barbarian tribes.
honestly im so glad bioware nerfed the cousland origin by not making them as socially & politically powerful as they technically ought to be. bc i think if i had to confront the whole cousland/mac tir situation in canon as opposed to just my own unsalvageable deep fried thoughts i think i would contract some sort of brain eating bacterial infection and die :/
remembered once again that there was a significant number of the bannorn that wanted a cousland on the throne and all I can think about is an arranged marriage between f!cousland and loghain by maric to suppress any growing rebellion/discontentment
very fun to have tristan in mind as i go through anora’s dialogue file actually, because it’s necessary to the narrative i have in mind that he bears a grudge against the mac tirs as a whole but wow he really would hate her in specific. which almost makes me more committed to putting her on the throne alone this run because i love the weight it gives that choice
In Dragon Age: Origins. Male Human Nobles or Couslands have the option to marry Anora Mac Tir and become Prince Consort. Loghain can either live or die in this scenario but Anora will never marry her father's killer.
Thinking about that scene in the palace in which Howe and Loghain recruit Zevran because I’ve just realised it makes so much more sense if you play as a Cousland. Howe being all “nah, man, this isn’t overkill, we need them deader than dead” (I’m paraphrasing but you get the point) is so much more believable when you take into account the fact that they’re the only living witness to his crimes and the only real threat to his hold on Highever... I mean, of course he’s going to make it personal. Because during my first playthrough with Warden Amell my thoughts were just “umm... who’s that guy?” but now that scene is so much better and I don’t know why I’m rambling about it but there it is
just a couple heraldries i whipped together on coat of arms maker,,,,
the noble family of Mac Tir, sigil only created after Celia insisted Loghain stop living in a tent and actually fix his keep. A red rose on a backing of green for the "land" of their name, and black for Gwaren.
Followed by the Royal Family of Mac Tir, the same rose and green backing combined with the yellow mabari of Ferelden.
Meet this odd little family that consists of Loghain Mac Tir and his wife Elissa Cousland, as well as their daughter Eleanor.
What the hell is this pairing, you might ask? Well, don't overthink it, it's a great pairing based on a healthy dose of attraction. Elissa and Loghain met at work, since they're both in the military and it took very little time for them to become friends and then also very quickly lovers.
When Elissa discovered she was pregnant, she proposed to Loghain who said yes.
They had a sweet and private ceremony followed by a brief stay in Sulani.
And then their little daughter Eleanor was born and the rest is mostly diapers and cuddles.
