I’ve said this before, but I always found stories that frame heaven as “evil” and hell as “good” (or less bad) to be genuinely boring. I like more nuanced approaches to each realm.
I understand that for a lot of people, Christianity is a religion they like to criticize and mock, but I feel like if you don’t even understand the fundamentals of the religion, why even attempt to critique it?

what i would love to know is, how is it anything other than misogynistic condescension to tell women that what they think they "want" in their sex lives is in fact only what they've been socially conditioned to think that they "want" and that by extension there's no possible way for them to articulate those desires in an agentive manner, doomed as they are to be passive receptacles for the unassailable forces of Big Society

Looking for the person with the other half of this necklace
Tumblr media
You actually were the one who made it. We were best friends in 3rd and 4th grade before you moved back to the state you came from.
At the time I knew you, your name began with P and we were both girls but I bet that you're queer now so I don't know if that's still true. You had an older brother. I have a younger brother. My name is Isabelle.
You had a Cartoon Network comic book of three stories in one: Steven Universe, gender-swapped Fionna and Jake, and one with Marceline and Princess Bubblegum. (This is why I think you're queer too and hope that you might be here on Tumblr.) I will tag this post with things I knew you liked/predict you would like. (Sorry if you're a random person in those tags & this annoys you.)
If you think this is you, please contact me with what our mutual favourite animal was. I just miss you and want to see if you're out there doing alright. We were such good friends.
update: I have written a letter and found their address, now I just have to actually post it. Will update again when doing so.
Update: the address I had doesn't exist, soooo... wish me luck!
Update: the letter returned home "not deliverable as addressed, unable to forward" today :(

When a man identifies as a woman he gets called as such, a "woman". When a woman is comfortable in her womanhood, she gets called a "lifegiver," a "birthing body," a "uterus haver." You're not "affirming to all," you're affirming to men and men alone.

i'll be real, i always hated it whenever media tries to "critique" Christianity while portraying all Christians as bigoted, misogynistic and irredeemable. its why it matters a lot to me that my own angels have some nuances to them.
Sera is very puritanical and obsessed with showing her devotion to God, but she's still a caring and well-meaning angel.

i think the biggest difference between black pete’s approach and izzy’s approach to glorifying blackbeard and having weird hangups about masculinity is that when ed does non-blackbeardy things like wearing a floral robe and singing about his feelings, izzy’s like “WHAT??? how could BLACKBEARD not be an edgy badass man pirate all the time?? this destroys my image of him and makes me lose all respect for him as a person” whereas pete is like “oh if blackbeard can do that and still be a cool badass man pirate, that must mean these things are cool and badass and don’t make anyone less of a man pirate!”

“All Helluva Boss/Hazbin Hotel critics are homophobes and queerphobes!!!” No. I’m gay. I hate stolitz because it’s horribly written and stolas is…i don’t know…a RAPIST??? I would still hate it if it was the straightest ship alive. It’s horrible representation as well, another reason for why I hate it so much. You can not say to me with a straight face, an aro-ace spectrum lesbian survivor of CSA, than I am homophobic for not liking the representation in Helluva Boss and Hazbin Hotel. I am not a person of colour (I’m so fucking pasty words can not describe it), so I can not comment on the representation of POC characters in those shows. But I have heard many people of colour who do not like the representation in the shows, so I trust them with that. I will repeat, part of why I hate those shows so much is because the representation isn’t very good in my opinion!!! I swear to god what part of that is not clicking!!!

The fact that we got to see Rhaenyra’s wedding and seeing her give birth while we never get to see Alicent on her wedding day, scared and alone without her best friend, being married to a king twice her senior, or see her give birth to a son who radically challenges the succession, giving Viserys the son he always wanted… all we get to see is her pregnant and as the queen and Rhaenyra upset over being squeezed out of the family during the hunt before the time skip. She goes from a girl to a mother in the blink of an eye, and then she’s Visery’s support and for her kids and it feels like such a robbed opportunity. Where’s alicent picking her fingernails raw before she’s forced to walk down the aisle. Where’s her terrified the moment her contractions hit because she fears her husband will cut her open like his last wife. Why doesn’t alicent get the same humanizing moments as Rhaenyra when it comes to carrying out the expected duties of womanhood, when they go through the exact same experiences. You’d expect these huge moments in each of their lives to be a great chance to parallel one another, show how Alicent was forced into her role, while Rhaenyra took as much control as she could with the circumstances she was given, but the narrative would rather set them up as parallels with the men in their lives and their (mostly male) children. it’s such a disservice to them both.
