ChordStriker!Poppy
Speaking of ChordStriker, I did some Rock!Poppy sketches to plan out her ref. Not entirely sure about the colors but she was too cute not to share!!
Rock Concert Outfit!!
She always has bat wings (Rock Troll HC), but she makes them a bigger for concerts! (Their wings can grow or retract similar to the way their hair can!!)
Tattoos and a closeup of her eyes! Aren't they pretty? 🩷💕
---
I know people are pretty curious about my au so hopefully I can finish that comic teaser poster and give you guys an official synopsis and overview!! :]

attack of neverhood's Nunu!
#af23#team werewolf#insects#a little lazy of me to use the same pose/concept for two attacks but i was kind of running on fumes by the end :3#i think this design tickled me especially cs of the similarity in palette to one of my own bug characters#big fan of her in any case!

alright, here it is: ZENO'S COLOR GUIDE 3.0 !
here, i'll have three "chapters" regarding color:
CH1: how i color in illustrations
CH2: color and character design (in zeno's case)
CH3: how zeno makes his colors cooler
CH1: HOW I COLOR IN ILLUSTRATIONS
it must be noted that, as of lately, i heavily use halftones in my art and the way i use them for gradients effects my color choices. of course you don't need to use halftones if you don't want to, as it's just my personal choice, but anything regarding halftones here could (probably) also apply to regular gradients!
when choosing colors in an illustration, i usually have three things in mind: mood, character, and contrast. we'll be using "gloomy bunny naptime" as an example here.
MOOD: what's the vibe of the piece? for example, here in "gloomy bunny naptime", wanted a mellow, sleepy vibe, so purples and pinks seemed like the best choice. these colors also have a dreamy effect due to being common in real-life early mornings/summer nights - basically, i tend to use associative colors in illustrations.
i usually only use a pallete of 3-7 colors, though of course more characters calls for more colors. for multi-character pieces, i would actually make a "rainbow" of colors based on the mood of the piece - essentially, a bank of colors to use for your colorful casts based on the actual rainbow. you can alter this based on the saturation levels you want! hope that makes sense. i'm not the best at this though, so i would heavily recommend looking for guides from artists who are more skilled in that department.
CHARACTER: velvet is the focus of the piece, and as a character her palette is made up of many purples and pinks. of course, it's easier because she and ribbon both have similar designs, but i would still recommend using colors based on/complementary to the focus character's pallete, though this is a rule that can and should be broken if needed. gradients can be used to provide a smooth transition from color-to-color and add depth to the piece, as well as showcase velvet's pallete. when making any gradient, you probably want to have a vibrant middle color. this is difficult to achieve in most art programs, so i'd do it like this:
you can use gradients in lots of cool ways to make stuff pop! (i think this collage shows i use too much purple and pink though.)
CONTRAST: the context of the piece also aids the color through contrast. (that's a lot of Cs!)- we see that velvet is just waking up, and the light from her switch is glowing brightly. i wanted to convey something like her switch suddenly turning on in the middle of the night, waking her up - so the console emits "light" in the form of illuminating the contrasting color of pink against the purples. it might seem specific to this piece, but what i'm trying to say is that contrasting colors can lead the eye to the focal point of the piece, that being velvet herself. because a great deal of the rest of the piece is dark, we look at the contrasting switch screen - the brightest thing in frame - and our eyes move around and up to take in the focal point character. at least that's how i wanted it to be ;w; i guess you could convey it as something like this?
CH2: COLOR AND CHARACTER DESIGN (IN ZENO'S CASE)
this is where i start to get annoying, so stand back! when deciding on colors for a cast of characters, there are many factors: time period, variety, personality, and more that i can't think of.
TIME PERIOD: this one is simple. for example, a futuristic time period (such as that in x-calibur) calls for colder colors, such as greens and blues. for characters involved in futuristic professions such as space exploration, this works incredibly well. for modern time periods, less focus can be on colors and more on the shapes of the clothes, but this is not a shapes tutorial! i don't have any ancient times oc stories, but i'd probably use earthy and warm tones.
VARIETY: this is also rather simple. i try to be aware of the palletes that i used, and the similarities they might have with other characters. i try to use similar colors for characters who belong to certain organisations or have a uniform, but of course, it's not like catholic school students adhere their entire look to their uniform, so this is a rule that can be broken yet again. art is all about learning things and breaking them, remember that!!!
color can also be used for symbolism. my absolute fav example for this is vivica and octavia - the amount of red in their designs is supposed to represent the amount of freedom/passion/anger/confidence they have or are allowed to express under their different circumstances. as vivica belongs to a strict organisation, she has far less red in her design, showing her emotions are stifled - meanwhile octavia has it as her main complementary color because of her freedom to express her emotions, though those emotions may be destructive because of her circumstances.

PERSONALITY: what colors are associated with your character's personality? i actually usually refer to magical girl groups to see what's commonly associated with different colors. here's the main trend:
red: hot-headed, passionate, firey
orange/yellow: bright, happy-go-lucky, sunshine personality
green: wise, mellow, kind
blue: serene, graceful, elegant
purple: magical, regal, fancy
pink: usually the main character (though this because magical girl anime tends to be marketed towards young girls), sweet, relatable, determined
of course these are only stereotypes from one genre of anime, and different colors have tons of different meanings. color theory is the best way to learn this! these colors can also express different moods, which ties into ch1. i myself constantly ignore these rules - v-con, a bombastic hyper DJ, is purple (though he does have yellow accents) for example. basically, i just take them as a general rule and try to have them in mind while drawing.
CH3: HOW ZENO MAKES HIS COLORS COOLER
this might be the most important part of this guide. once again, there are a few things to consider here: filters, hue, overlays, and more!
FILTERS: for ibispaint, you can use an adjustment layer on your whole piece to use a filter. i usually only use brightness/contrast here - upping the brightness (or darkening it based on the mood of the piece) and upping the contrast. this helps to better express values and intensify the colors if that's what you want. i often use it in all my pieces to some extent.
hue/saturation/lightness is also helpful in moderation. you can alter the hue - though it usually only helps if you bring it back or forward by just a few points, or the entire pallete will change. saturation is what it sounds like, and slightly over/desaturating the piece can help with atmosphere. lightness is what it sounds like - lightens the colors in the piece. i don't use it at all.
posterize and sharpen mask are some that i've used recently. posterize can add some crazy effects to your art, but i'd probably need to edit it slightly after using it because it can mess with certain colors.
HUE: it's a layer type that can change the overall hue of the piece. i usually use it at a low percentage for atmosphere. kind of like a gradient map but nothing like it? idk
and OVERLAYS: i just use a very saturated blue/purple color over the entire piece at a very low percentage, around 5-10%. it can wash out the piece at too high a percentage.
and that's basically it! sorry it kind of derailed at the end i spent like 2 hours on this and got super tired. goodnight i'm going to sleep please also look at other artists etc etc. bye.
#zeno's art#long post#color tutorial#liar by korn is actually a really catchy song yea the lyrics are weird but its so good tbh#peak drums and bass and guitar and vocals and then the lyrics are hot booty. this is what nu metal's all about people#ask questions if you want#about nu metal or art i dont care

Do you have any cvș tips? Thank you!
im bouta tweak out this is my 3rd time writing this bc it wasnt saving. sb send a nuke to my house rn😣😣😣!!!!! ANYWAYS
1. USUALLY WORKERS DONT CARE!! Most workers don’t, they aren’t allowed to do anything either. C\/$ has no chase and confront policy. They can’t ask to check your bag or for you to come with them, UNLESS its LP.
But that doesn’t mean you should start shoving mad shit in your bag infront if them. Just don’t make it obvious that you mysteriously palmed all hk makeup palettes.
2. LP rotates regionally, usually working two, 8-hour shifts per week at specific stores.
3.CAMERAS. Most of the cameras are fake!!! I believe only the one in the pharmacy and register are real. But they almost never get checked!!
4. They put RFID on some makeup and some medicine (mascara or some weird high-end medicine). But that usually depends on location. Things at my location that are supposed to be tagged arent. But the RFID tags are so easy to pull off.
Its so random cs at my usual location,t hey would put like a RFID on one single product n the others would be untagged. 🌚 umm???
Also, at SOME locations the secruity towers don’t even work…
5. Honestly, c\/$ is one dry ah store. Take your time, don’t be greedy, check your items because you never know.
There really is no concealing tips for this store, just simple common sense. Grab what you want, conceal it, walk around like a normal customer. Trust me nobody is worried bout you. Just do it, don’t act like a shoplifter—trying to memorize all the tips n tricks.
Just conceal it and call it day. A simple “toss item in a bag/or body conceal will do)
There’s really no time-limit for this store, just don’t make it an obviously quick exit or a painfully long exit. Cause walking out a store you were just in for 30 mins empty handed and being a store n zooming out is lowkey sus imo. Ponder, give it some minutes, do you!!
cs u are shopping ur js not paying😊😊!!

🙏 thank you to everyone who voted in the poll! everything’s going to be getting love, and i’ve been working on celebrity skin and satisfaction guaranteed, who tied
CS doesn’t have an eyeball ready excerpt, but here’s a WIP snippet from satisfaction guaranteed, loustat wealthy!omega!louis alpha!lestat marriage agency citizenship arranged marriage:
A thin privacy screen that cleared their heads by half a foot had been brought out. It folded into thirds, and was pretty much just a fig leaf as far as discretion went. Today their only chaperone was Armand, and as long as Louis didn’t have to do this with family in the room, he thought he’d survive the awkwardness.
A thorough physical scent and taste matching was an intimacy not every agency afforded. For one in this price point, however, it was a given. (Louis assumed there were even agencies that offered test drives for the right price, and was glad he hadn’t ended up in those darker waters.)
Lestat had once again shown up casual—graphic tee, jeans, same shoes—but Armand seemed to have forced a jacket on him. Lestat’d tossed it aside on a chair when they’d come in the room.
Here behind the privacy of the screen, Lestat reached behind himself and pulled off the shirt in one move, tossing his hair back after. He had the lean physique of a dancer. Louis tried to keep his eyes on Lestat’s face.
Louis hadn’t bothered with a tie and jacket today, because it seemed painfully disingenuous. (Showing up in a robe, however, would have been far more crass. This was the compromise.) He started unbuttoning his dress shirt, yanking its tails out as he finished. He left it hanging open, revealing his sleeveless undershirt beneath. They regarded each other.
Finally Louis undid one of his cufflinks, and offered up his bare wrist to Lestat.
Lestat kept his eyes on Louis’s as he touched the tip of his nose to Louis’s palm, the hinge of his wrist, inhaled along his inner forearm. His eyes fell closed, and he was pressing his upper lip to Louis’s inner forearm, mouth and nose taking in deep breaths along Louis’s skin.
Then he laved a slow stripe up his inner arm.
Louis cleared his throat and tried to tug his arm back. Lestat instantly cut off a growl that sprung from his throat as his eyes snapped open, almost all pupil. He paused, watching Louis for a few breaths from under heavy lids.
Reason seemed to be filtering back in as he stepped further into Louis’s space, cautiously encouraging Louis up against him—a gentle hand at the back of his neck to guide Louis to his throat.
Louis felt like he should say something, but his language skills were fast dissolving. It seemed too awkward to speak with Armand in the same room anyway.
Pressed up into the heat of Lestat’s body, his scent enveloped him; Louis felt dizzy, almost high. He was hard against Lestat’s hip and he tried to ignore it.
Louis felt feral, inhaling open-mouthed breaths over along Lestat’s vulnerable throat, soaking his scent up like honey on his tongue, greedily drenching his palette. He tucked his nose behind Lestat’s ear, taking in the concentrated musk of him. His breath bounced back hot against him, his lips brushing Lestat’s skin. Lestat shuddered, clutching his hands at Louis’s waist.
“Alright?” Armand summoned.
“Fine.” Lestat bit out the single syllable.
Louis held Lestat’s eyes challengingly from these few inches away, then slowly started to drop to his knees—Lestat snapped his hands around Louis’s biceps and stopped him. Shook his head urgently.
Louis was unimpressed. He knew where Lestat’s scent was most concentrated. He wanted it. He wasn’t leaving without it.
Louis pressed his palm along Lestat’s bare abdomen, dipping his fingers under Lestat’s waistband. Lestat steadily held his gaze. Louis continued.
Louis slipped his fingers under Lestat’s jeans—no underwear in evidence; they needed to have a talk about chafing—and discovered his cock, the heat and texture of him— Lestat looked like he was struggling with getting enough oxygen as Louis explored as far as his hand could reach— And then Louis smoothly extracted his hand and cupped it over his nose and mouth, letting his eyes fall closed as he huffed the dark scent of him, absently licking a few fingers.
Lestat grabbed his wrist. “We’re done here, Armand,” Lestat announced. His voice only broke the once.
“And?”
“This will work.”
“And you, Louis?”
“Fine,” Louis snapped, slowly smiling as he licked at the knuckles trapping his wrist.
Lestat snatched his hand away.

miss wendy, all the creatures of Cs change color? . I ask because the witches also changed color but not siren and Arp
It’s because I change up everyone’s color palette when they go to a new area. From their point of view, everyone is always the same color. (Except for kappa who has noticeable color changes in his scales)
Siren and arp have also changed colors each season but you might not notice unless you take out their colors and directly compare them.

Madeleine-Claude-Gabrielle Sanson, redesign and Kibbe body type
Now, Claude would be tall with a bone structure of average thickness and somewhat pear-shaped with a defined waist. She would have average length arms but quite long legs, and a square face with very prominant dark circles, low-set cheekbones, large droopy eyes and a somewhat long nose that is rather anglar. Would look like an elongated and more angular version of her mother, and have dark circles identical to her's (and her brother's). Has the face shape for floofy bangs.
So, she would have a long vertical line (A), narrow shoulders (A), even arms (C) but with somewhat longer legs, long delicate fingers (A), a shapely body (D), a flat chest (A), a small waist (D), shapely, defined hips (D), moderate arms (C), a sharp, square jawline (A), a sharp, prominant nose (A), blunt but defined cheekbones (B) that sit very low on her face, large puppy eyes (D). thin lips (A), somewhat delicate looking cheeks that aren't very taught nor fleshy (C), and have slightly wavy hair (C). She has 7 As, 3 Cs, four Ds and a single B. She would be somewhere in between a soft dramatic and a gamine, albeit quite tall.
Would look best in clothing that are mostly straight with slight waist definition.
Now, I could have her in grey...But redying at the time was an option, and she does come from a wealthier household. So, she could wear a robe à la Française without panier. Now, her mother's dress she inherited as her Sunday best would have to be lengthened at some point anyway, because of how tall she is, so they might as well add flounces elsewear. I think...Maybe a very desaturated green with a cooler green frills, or maybe some darker grey with white frills. I would have to explore to guess the exact color palette, but a robe à la française without paniers, tailored out of her mother's dress would be key. I think, maybe a cool, desaturated red could work ? It is overdyed, so darker colors could be achieved that way. Cochenille could give off this crimson color, and with the already present grey...Plus, dark reds were associated with the executioner profession. Crimson can also be achieved through lichen dyes fermented in amonia, especially if we are overdying. Cochenille dyes can become more cool-toned dependent on mordent used. I will decide if dark, desaturated green, deep, desaturated red or dark grey is best after some tests...I'd only pick one...I do tend to lean towards the dark grey and the green. Sadly, we cannot really do pinks because of what we are starting with as a base. Her face shape would need side curls or to be put in softer updoes to look good, to balance out her face shape.
She would wear a long green, red or yellow ribbon in her hair, with long artificial curls hugging her delicate neck for her Sunday best, and simply into a bun for most days. For workdays, she wears a simple cap, while her Sunday best has a small cap/hat with little artificial laurel almond blossoms.
Her bridal look would incorporate long ribbons in her hair, dancing delicately in the breeze, with a complicated hair decoration/headpiece mainly made of human nails and tanned small intestines.
In modern AU, would definitly wear a long hime cut, wear a crop-top paired with a large, off-the shoulder chunky sweater and a finger-tip length skirt with thigh-high stockings and mary-janes. She'd have some prominant fake nails and blinged teeth.
Color type :
Now, pale and very ashy complexion with bluish dark cicles, dull black hair and dark taupe eyes. Would likely have a pale milky complexion with slight pink undertones if properly moisturized, exfoliated and not exposed to cadaverine. Now, she would have more angular features, making her maybe a classic dark winter or a summer mute.

Ok so! Here we go, NGS appreciation thread I guess. Genuinely never understood haters constantly doom posting about a game they refuse to leave. Be a real hater and simply leave lol. Anyway!
Something NGS does great? Combat!
From the moment I started NGS a year ago combat has always been snappy, feels great, high level of control and there’s just So MANY WAYS for you to engage with the combat system.
Almost every class having multiple weapons to choose from makes combat incredibly fun to engage with because u have what…18 different weapons currently to engage with? All of which have their own attack chains and skills? I know ff has a nice weapon spread, but between the two? NGS combat is simply just more fun for me without question. Get tired of a play style? Simply swap weapons and go have fun.
Something else NGS does incredibly well? It’s console experience.
I feel like this is something that can be easily overlooked by a lot of people but having played both PSO and FF it’s simply not a contest. The controls for ff are clunky, and of course this ties right in with combat. I shouldn’t need to tab 8 different times to target the enemy I want to attack. And with NGS I don’t need to. Is it perfect? No. Both games are built with pc in mind first so accessing your action palette on a normal controller is a bit of a pain. But some investment into a controller with pads underneath eases this pain considerably. 10/10 times I’m picking the NGS controller experience over ff.
The next thing NGS does well (more of a player driven thing”? Player events!
I came to NGS off of 10 years in Destiny and Never Not Once was there a player organized event in that game so seeing them here, attending them, participating in the phasion shows and puzzles and games have been So Much Fun! Such a great way to meet new people. Such a great way to be involved in your ships community. Even on ship 4 where I am, you can find player events to attend, the community is such a hearty bunch so it’s so much fun to go to these!
Actually this leads quite well into the next thing that’s well executed! Creative spaces!
Every time you attend one of these player hosted events you’ll definitely get the opportunity to see just how creative players can be in the spaces they build to host these! There’s no shortage of people who cheer on PSO’s character creator, so it’s a little bit of a shame you don’t see the same with CS considering it’s the same tools more or less. There’s hundred of parts to snag (I only just finished buying out the gp shops) and the sheer amount of creative freedom is, honestly, a bit overwhelming. But beyond that is the chance to build some downright incredible spaces that could honestly exist as part of the open world itself. I have MONTHS of time sunk into CS and it’s where I go during slow times.

RWBY Saints of Remnant Notes: Arthur Gray(Watts); Mad Scientist, Unethical Businessman, and Conniving Rat
Part of The Emperor-Verse
Now this follows up my AU Jacques Schnee and SDC and my AU Adam Taurus, which focuses on their common foe, Dr. Arthur Gray aka Arthur Watts.
I honestly loved Arthur regardless of my gripes with the FNDM's appraisal of him, his design, personality, his color palette, and weapons(neat pistol and rings) hit all the right notes for me and I do feel he along the rest of WTCH didn't really meet their full potential from what I've seen, Cinder and Hazel I have more unorthodox ideas for.
But for Arthur? I feel like the 'Mad Scientist' thing wasn't explored enough, and back when this was a V3 reboot, I had Arthur manipulating Jacques into hating the Faunus(framing the White Fang for his wife's death) but now with the hard reboot and remember Arthur's motivation in canon got my noggin jogging
What if instead of the SDC being the corrupt big business, Arthur had his own mega corporation that was part of the corrupt North instead, and part of something even more sinister?
Thus, I came up with his AU Counterpart, Dr. Arthur Gray, genius roboticist, biologist, and CEO of GigaWatts Incorporated and The Grand Master of the Northern Rite of the mysterious Freemason-Like fraternal organization The Lumen Society ran by Grand Mistress, Professor Salem.
Basically, GWI has taken over most of Atlas in the sense of supplying companies with tech, their own high tech products ranging from domestic, law enforcement, security, and even medicine.
Even Atlas Council and top brass of Atlas military are hiring Arthur to develop their military tech. Despite James Ironwood's protests and continuous vouching for Dr. Polendina instead, who he is supporting in his own department.
Not to mention, the factories are known for unethical labor practices towards faunus, which gives Arthur brownie points for the anti-faunus sentiment in the North, along with countless of corporate CEOs vying to make deals with him and his seemingly wondrous technology.
And with the link to my AU Jacques Schnee link, this corporate machine is crushing smaller companies, SDC among them, under its grey steel boot
Basically, GigaWatts Incorporated is like OCP from Robocop
And even then that itself is nothing for the more unholy role it has for The Lumen Society, or its true name...
The satanic cult known as The Brotherhood Grimm. Whom Arthur's role is developing technology and occult research as they plot to resurrect The Black Empire that nearly destroyed the world in Ragnarok thousands of years ago with Salem as its Black Empress
But we'll get to that later
Arthur is currently tasked to recover an ancient ritual to “transcend” humans and Faunus into “The Grimmborne” or as Arthur calls “The Objective Man”(a reference to CS Lewis's That Hideous Strength)
And with Cinder infiltrating Beacon Academy as a teacher, Arthur finds a team he believe are suitable for experimentation. Though there is complications I will get to later.
He's the same as his Canon!Counterpart in many ways, snobbish, arrogant, passive aggressive(which I intend to show in the pissing contests he gets in with Jacques) but among some things, some which I will leave out for another post, he represents hyper-rationality, pragmatism and luciferian mind and the modern obsession to rationalize everything and destroy anything that can't.
"The poet only asks to get his head into the heavens. It is the logician who seeks to get the heavens into his head. And it is his head that splits." - GK Chesterton, Orthodoxy (1908)
You see, Dr. Gray hates personal and subjective feelings and certain emotions and the concept of the supernatural. He sees them as icky and disgusting things that sully intelligent and rational minds and their judgement of intelligence and "worthiness" instead of basing such things such as statistics, logistics, scientific method and what else he deems to be "real information", and he absolutely despises the concept of The Stoyteller and The Author Allfather as "Ancient Superstition" and he honestly hates both humans and faunus saying "both are subjective animals" which the Grimmborne aka "The Objective Man" shall replace.
He basically uses anti-faunus sentiment in the North to "keep the monkeys fighting each other" while he uses his tech and company as a means to get The Brotherhood's tentacles in The North
And when it comes to Jacques Schnee. There's very bitter history between the two, and Arthur may had some involvement with Mrs. Schnee's death. But Jack has no evidence. And even if he did, the majority councilmen and upper-class North are so corrupt Arthur is pretty much untouchable.
Now his allusion, he has two which is why I changed his last name.
His primary allusion is James Moriarty from the Sherlock Holmes novels, but his secondary allusion is The Rat King from The Nutcracker and rat, mousetraps, and mazes are recurring theme with him and his aesthetic along some steampunk. Cuz rats have grey fur and grey is Arthur’s primary color.
It’s also to note he is something of a connoisseur of wine and cheese.
But combining James Moriarty and The Rat King, Arthur also alludes Professor Ratigan of the children's novels The Great Mouse Detective which was also adapted into a Disney Movie(and one of my favorites), and like him, he hates being called a rat among other things, but I'll save that for the story.
and tidbits of Weston from CS Lewis’s Ransom Trilogy(Out of The Silent Planet, and Perelandra) and CA Rotwang from Metropolis but that will come later when I introduce his 'daughter' Maria Gray(which those who know the movie can guess who she is)
Now for his semblance, I call it "electrified malice" which he can channel his repressed disgust, resentment, rage, hate, distain, and while lotta suppressed emotions into lethal green electric energy which he can direct either everywhere from his body like a live wire or from his hands ala Sith Lightning(I mean he is like Palpatine in a way)
The problem is, once he focuses in either spot and his emotions are intense enough, he becomes drunk with his malice which in turn takes him a while to stop, which will cost him dearly in the long run.
You'll see.

how shit is Angemos really? Seems like every pop CS, but at least there's some activity there with prompts and fast approvals n such. What are they waiting on? I say this as a person who's in the Angemos discord server but not active yet. All I seem to get is a general frustration with mods?
ngl my main complain about Angemos is the horrible, horrible colour palette they have. All desaturated, close in value beiges? That shit makes it hard to read as hell. And cool, you got interesting roles for your mods, but why does it matter when at the point of sending this ask, literally no one above a PA is online? No mods, no admins, no owners, etc. I'll likely wait half a year before joining or watching the imploding mess. But idk, anons, what are your forecasts for the Angemos stock in the CS market?
