Do you have any pink genre recs in terms of music? I want to get more into the genre.
-Hypermobile Françoise anon
hello!!! do you have any idea how hard this is for me to answer. i love rambling and being pedantic and going off on tangents. almost as much as i love punk music...
tl;dr i compiled a playlist for you, containing 3 songs from (most of) the bands mentioned below, plus a few extra from miscellanious artists bc 54 is my lucky number. it was hard to choose just 3 from some of my faves but i feel like this is a good introduction. long post to follow <3
instead of simply giving you a list and sending you on your merry way, i am absolutely going to spout off bc thats what i do and ur gonna regret asking. do you think you were gonna get off that easy? you absolute fool. sit ur ass down ur about to get schooled.
disclaimer; this isn't exhaustive. i'm not rattling off every single punk artist that's ever existed. just a few of my favorites.
the clash, the quintessential punk band in my opinion. defined the genre and embodied the political ethos. explored different subgenres througout their expansive discography. they were probably my first introduction to music as a whole since they're my dad's favorite band. i may be biased but i'd definitely say start with the clash. i'd recommend listening to their third album, london calling, first.
the pogues - the folk punk band of all time. NOT folk-punk like some smelly white man with dreadlocks screaming over poorly-tuned guitar. you'll know exactly what i mean when you hear it. they have a unique sound that just can't be replicated. and shane macgowan is actually such a beautiful person. their lyrics are also politically tinged, kinda gritty and edgy (i.e. gratuitous slurs) so not for senstive ears.
(i actually have a playlist of my fave pogues/shane macgowan songs)
the cure, in my opinion, invented goth or at least popularized it. their earlier stuff had more of a punk sound but every one of their albums is a perfect 10 to me. they're one of my favorite bands of all time and i could go on about them for hours so i'll leave it there. joy division, also more goth/post-punk but i love them, i have one of their album covers tattooed on my forearm lmao 19 year old decisions. no regrets (i also love the smiths, but they're not really punk punk.)
before you ask, no sex pistols!!! don't get me started on how much i hate the sex pistols i will throw up! god they suck. to me at least.
a lot of punks also listen to ska - no, not that kind of ska. 70/80s ska that originated from rocksteady/reggae. some of my faves in that arena being madness, the specials, bad manners, and the beat.
and as for across the pond - american punk artists.
johnny cash. no, seriously. man was punk before punk was defined.
my favorite band is probably social distortion. they're pretty different than those mentioned above, owing to their unmistakable americana sound and aesthetic. to me they're the quintessential rockabilly revival band, heavily influenced by country and blues. great guitar licks. think wistful and reckless all at once.
their frontman mike ness is an outrageously gorgeous man. he has two solo albums that absolutely slap. the happiest day of my life was seeing them live a couple years ago and he winked right at me - i promise i'm not delusional i swear he really did. ok i digress.
dead kennedys - hilarious lyrics and sick ass bass lines, very political and generally pretty iconic. one of my dad's faves. the cramps and the misfits. two bands overlapping goth + punk + psychobilly. pioneers of a campy subgenre known as horror-punk. i also really like danzig, the misfits frontman's solo career.
the velvet underground/lou reed - great example of american proto-punk. very NYC vibes. the pixies are a more grungy, later punk band. one of my mommy's favorites <3 i would unironically name my child velouria. definitely iconic but i find them overplayed sometimes, as in you've probably heard them at the grocery store.
this barely scratches the surface btw but i think that about covers it for today. sorry if i bored you to death pls come back and keep me company. peace and love on planet mpregfrance <3

Sometimes looking around this place can aggravate my "I don't want to know" and I kind of want to tell some people they'll end up on the wrong side of history or something then I remember I'm an adult and they have freedom of expression so I don't.
But so y'all know the my blog my rules thing also applies to if I do or don't post about world or social events here.
Not dying on any hills because I can't even climb one in the first place due to my mobility complications.
And now a 10 year old who doesn't even know how to behave at a cosmetics store will explain exactly what goth is, why it's a competition, and there are strict rules to doing it "right" ...
Tumblr media
Don't mind Jason, he always looks like that.
Go on, keep telling them how they're not dressed goth enough. (The Cure whose style is copied by many goths)
Tumblr media
Now explain how you can only listen to one style of music if you're goth. (The Damned who can count punk, goth, rockabilly, show tunes and what ever the Naz Nomad and Phantom Chords things were)
Tumblr media
Maybe I was going to say something about gender but I just wanted to post a pic of Martin Gore with a sledge hammer after a long day's work trying to smash some barriers before your century was even thought of.
Tumblr media
something something picture of Siouxsie something something I had that hair cut in college but still couldn't afford the rest of the look and no one policed me about it something something would have had it ca 1989 except I was working on The Wonder Years because I had super long strait hair at the time something something damn right I knew the value of a dollar and a hard day's work something something
You're never too old to have your goth phase, I could finally afford mine in my late 30s.
Tumblr media
That picture of the ghoulettes from Ghost because goths, especially female goths, should be about supporting each other not tearing each other down.

Who am I? (plus other important info)
Tumblr media
So you  have stumbled upon my profile on Tumblr! If this is your first time here, welcome welcome! In most spaces I go by Ril, I’m 19 years old and my pronouns are he/they(questioning), plus I am autistic (an aspie). What I mainly post are occasional thought pieces, album reviews which are more recent, and sometimes promote videos from my, youtube channel, but all of that is buried under reposts. If it isn’t obvious already I love Misato Katsuragi so much with all my heart.
IMPORTANT STUFF
I’m open to making friends, my DMs are always open so hop and chime in if you want. I have a hard time making friends here already so I’m putting this out there to make things easier.
What I refer to Chihiro as varies depending on the situation/conversation. I normally refer to them as a boy(he/him), but I will always be open to refer to him as different pronouns if the other person/people in a conversation prefers, and to avoid confusion.
I am Bisexual but a supporter of anyone else in the LGBT community, anyone who is homophobic/transphobic will be block
I’m getting back into drawing plus I play and make music
PERSONAL INTERESTS
When it comes to interests there’s a lot
For starters, my main interest in anime is Mahou Shoujo(Magical Girl) anime, stuff like Sailor Moon or Pretty Cure. I’ll occasinally watch other animes outside of that genre, but Magical Girls are my main area. My favorite characters include
Chihiro Fujisaki (Danganronpa!)
Akane Owari (Danganronpa!)
Mikan Tsumeki (Danganronpa!)
Ami Mizuno/Sailor Mercury (Sailor Moon)
Minako Aino/Sailor Venus (Sailor Moon)
Misato Katsuragi (Neon Genesis Evangelion)
Some Haikyuu characters
With Video games it varies. I mostly play retro platformers like Sonic and Mega Man, though I’ll also play some First Person games like Minecraft, Roblox, Team Fortress 2, and of course Danganronpa!. Occasionally I’ll also play some rhythm games, like Clone Hero, but that’s about it.
Now music, oh boy music. I listen to
Jazz(Hard Bop, Cool Jazz and Fusion),
Rock(some rockabilly, surf, garage rock, power pop, and some good hard rock),
Metal([first wave] black metal, thrash metal, traditional heavy metal, some proto-death stuff)
Punk(previously mentioned Garage Rock, but also 80s Hardcore and some Crossover Thrash)
and Japanese Popular Music mostly from the 1960s-1980s(Kayokyoku, Group Sounds, New Music, And City Pop), starting to get into 80s Band Boom and Visual Kei
Electronic Music, but I haven’t explored outside of Yellow Magic Orchestra and Aphex Twin. Though Recent;y I've been getting into Acid House and Techno music
Hopefully this will be a good introduction to my character and account, thanks for reading and enjoy my profile!

Aw lawrd he's so beautiful. "Wow, Hark. What happened to all your sensible reasoning for changing Ridge around in your last submission?" ಠ_ಠ *Scrrrreeeeaaaaaammmmmm* Is there a term for a disease where you are SO CERTAIN about something and then become immediately uncertain in less than a couple days? It's chronic. I can't find a cure. I don't know where to start on explaining why. Let's see... moving Madison to Soles and Ridge to Breastplate had greatness going for it. I got back my lady acrobat and my SoCal heartthrob. However, I made these changes without thinking about the Six as a whole, let alone the ones adjacent to them in the "circle". Tanner and Ridge had a relationship installed alongside the very notion that they could get each other at a brotherly level, as unstable and stormy as it often is. Tanner and Madison on the other hand, would never throw down in any universe because Tanner, bless his uptight heart, is far too traditional to ever raise his voice at a woman, let alone be aggressive toward her. Psh, and she wouldn't want to feud either because she reads people's temperaments extremely well and knows he wouldn't reciprocate, so why try? The two are both equally good at reading the room. They would naturally not want to be in the same orbit as one another due to their sheer amount of differences. Although Madison's saucy ways vs the team's square did make for a hilarious contrast, I wasn't able to foresee a relationship where they could really ram heads, get on each other's nerves, and learn valuable lessons from each other without giving up on the opposite party. I sorta didn't like what Madison was turning into. She was morphing into an unflappably macho Catwoman biker chick real fast. Egh. I simply cannot take the "wayfaring maverick" out of Ridge without him becoming unrecognizable and deleting why I'm fond of his devil-may-care smile in the first place. The daffy, dramatic Hollywood Ridge is awesome, yes, but what the Soles of Peace position offers to this character is a globe-trotting backstory, a war vet status, a road warrior persona, a state of mouthy rebellion, a frontier spirit, and for heaven's sake, his Rockabilly sideburns make more sense too. All of that is much more him, and no one else, really. There are two different types of personalities: assertive and turbulent. The way I had it before, all of the females were very assertive (not to mention intelligent) while all of the males were neurotic/turbulent and stuck in the middle of the bell curve. It was also turning out that JD and Madison were adopting too many traits from one another because they were both well-traveled outsiders who had a relationship with "community". Everybody felt same-y. I wanted balance again, so I had to undo the gender swaps, lol. The various pieces of armor have a major effect on who is wielding what. Why? Because every piece is affiliated with a different city district. Culture, economic level, motivations, desires, fears - all of these things will change depending on the character+armor combo. As someone who always has her horizons open and likes to explore every nook and cranny of an idea, WELCOME TO MY FLIP-FLOPPING NIGHTMARE OF A PROJECT. ((This is why I'm not allowed to have fanart. I change things every three seconds.)) What's weird is that temporarily imagining Ridge in the Breastplate position has allowed me to spot new possibilities and get really galaxy-brained on Madison's potential in the role, which I hope to speak more about when I release her new design~ That said, the previous issue with the Breastplate's chesticle problem is still, indeed, a problem for this prude. *Points to self.* What I might do is simply move her scar (that I'd like to give screen time to without flashing the audience) up the sternum more. I'm sure there's a solution. I just gotta do some more drawing. Watch as I throw all of this out the window in a few days. :'D Start taking bets!

How Guitar Can Save You Time, Stress, and Money.
In the nineteenth century the guitar’s entire body also underwent adjustments that resulted in improved sonority. It became broader and shallower, with an incredibly thin soundboard. Internally, the transverse bars reinforcing the soundboard were being changed by radial bars that fanned out underneath the sound gap.
The introduction on the double-coil humbucker within the mid-fifties solved this issue from the use of two coils, considered one of which can be wired in opposite polarity to cancel or "buck" stray fields. Some are spring-loaded and have a "whammy bar", a detachable arm that lets the player modulate the pitch by switching The strain over the strings. The whammy bar is usually also called a "tremolo bar". (The outcome of speedily altering pitch is properly referred to as "vibrato". See Tremolo for even further dialogue of this expression.) Some bridges also permit for alternate tunings on the contact of the button. Your recordings and also your custom made chords are stored as buttons which can be dragged close to to change situation. For 4 strings, the 5th fret on one particular string is similar open up-Be aware as the next string; as an example, a fifth-fret Notice on the sixth string is the same Be aware as the open up fifth string. To pick a guitar Notice, click on the corresponding string and fret. A little white circle will surface indicating the chosen Be aware. learn how to play bass guitar scales The violin-kind pegbox was changed about 1600 by a flat, a bit reflexed head with rear tuning pegs; inside the nineteenth century, steel screws were substituted for the tuning pegs. The early tied-on intestine frets had been changed by crafted-on ivory or steel frets within the 18th century. Changing the truss rod impacts the intonation of the guitar in addition to the peak of your strings from the fingerboard, called the motion. Some truss rod systems, known as double motion truss units, tighten both means, pushing the neck both of those ahead and backward (conventional truss rods can only launch to a degree further than which the neck is not compressed and pulled backward). The artist and luthier Irving Sloane pointed out, in his e-book Steel-String Guitar Building, that truss rods are meant primarily to cure concave bowing with the neck, but are unable to appropriate a neck with "back again bow" or one that is now twisted. The guitar is usually a fretted musical instrument that sometimes has six strings.[one] It is often performed with both equally hands by strumming or plucking the strings with possibly a guitar choose or perhaps the fingers/fingernails of one hand, when concurrently fretting (urgent the strings towards the frets) While using the fingers of another hand. Early amplified guitars employed a hollow human body, but solid wood guitars started to dominate in the course of the sixties and 1970s, as They are really considerably less susceptible to undesirable acoustic comments "howls". Just like acoustic guitars, There are a variety of sorts of electric guitars, like hollowbody guitars, archtop guitars (Employed in jazz guitar, blues and rockabilly) and good-body guitars, which can be commonly used in rock songs. In acoustic guitars, string vibration is transmitted through the bridge and saddle to your body through seem board. The seem board is usually made of tone woods like spruce or cedar. Timbers for tone woods are chosen for equally Guitar toughness and talent to transfer mechanical Electrical power in the strings into the air in the guitar entire body. A further class of alternative tunings are known as fall tunings, as the tuning drops down the bottom string. Dropping down the bottom string an entire tone results in the "fall-D" (or "dropped D") tuning. Its open up-string notes DADGBE (from lower to high) allow for for your deep bass D Notice, which can be Utilized in keys including D major, d minimal and G major. Electric powered guitars and bass guitars have to be used using a guitar amplifier and loudspeaker or simply a bass amplifier and speaker, respectively, to be able to make plenty of seem to become listened to with the performer and viewers. Electrical guitars and bass guitars nearly always use magnetic pickups, which create An electrical sign once the musician plucks, strums or otherwise plays the instrument. The amplifier and speaker bolster this sign utilizing a ability amplifier along with a loudspeaker. Acoustic guitars which might be Outfitted which has a piezoelectric pickup or microphone can also be plugged into an instrument amplifier, acoustic guitar amp or PA technique to generate them louder. Many different tunings could possibly be made use of. The most typical tuning, often called "Conventional Tuning", has the strings tuned from a low E, to your large E, traversing a two octave vary—EADGBE. When all strings are played open up the resulting chord is really an Em7/add11.

favorite genre of music? favorite thing to cook? where would you go if you could drop everything and get on a plane rn?
omg hi hello 🤗🤗
these questions are rly hard 🥺💔
I listen to pretty much literally everything. My favorites vary from classic/outlaw country and 50s/60s pop, classic/psychedelic/surf rock, to old school punk and rockabilly/psychobilly, to post-punk/goth/new wave. I LOVE Johnny Cash, Elvis, and Patsy Cline, also The Smiths and The Cure. For modern artists, I like Lana Del Rey and The Weeknd. My favorite band might be Social Distortion. My favorite song is Sleepwalk by Santo and Johnny.
I live to cook so I don't have one single favorite dish to make. To name a few, I love making crispy roasted brussels sprouts, I'm known for my spinach artichoke dip, curries and naan, EGGPLANT PARM 🍆🍅👌 potato and leek dauphinoise, arepas with curtido, Neapolitan style pizza, veg chili and cornbread, baked mac and cheese, etc. also I'm a slut for peanut sauce noodles with lots of veg and tofu. Sorry that was so long but I'm a bit of a chef and also a fat bitch so
That last one is easy. I'd first go to NYC or my hometown, Boston 💕💕💕

❝IF THE WORLD CHOOSES TO BECOME MY ENEMY, THEN I WILL FIGHT LIKE I ALWAYS HAVE.❞
CODE NAME: Project Shadow. GIVEN TITLE: Ultimate Life form, Shadow the Hedgehog. AGE: Unknown.
GENDER: Male. HEIGHT: 4'0. WEIGHT: 85 lbs.
SPECIES: Anthropomorphic Hedgehog/Alien Hybrid. DATE OF BIRTH: Unknown. OCCUPATION: G.U.N. Agent.
CURRENTLY IN POSSESSION OF: One chaos emerald.
❝EVEN IF MY MEMORIES ARE NOT REAL, IT’S STILL ME, SHADOW.❞
ALIGNMENT: Chaotic Good. ORIENTATION: Unknown. APPEARANCE: A crimson stripe is marked nearly over Shadow’s entire body; His quills, the corners of his eyes, his arms, and legs, the very same same color also present in his eyes. Crimson clashes with ebony as the majority of his fur is pitch-black. His muzzle and ears are an orange-tan like color, while gold is present on his boots and inhibitor rings. On the center of his chest, a patch of white fur is apparent, probably one of the more ‘iconic’ parts of Shadow’s appearance. FAMILY: Professor Gerald Robotnik (surrogate father) and Maria Robotnik (surrogate sister).
PERSONALITY: Shadow is seen as a ‘lone wolf’. He’s clever, intelligent, bold, confident, and ruthless. When Shadow has an objective in mind, he will complete it by any means necessary. Emphasis on ’by any means necessary’. He’s never been one to open up to others, at least, not at first.
Despite his brute exterior, Shadow does have a soft side. He cares for the well being of humanity, helping those in need when deemed necessary. Although rare because of the emotional walls he’s built up, Shadow will even go as far as offering kindness someone’s way if he feels they deserve it.
LIKE(S): A quiet atmosphere, music (genres of the 1940s & 50s), making improvements to his motorcycle/arsenal, the adrenaline rush of facing off with someone whose power rivals his, baking sweets (he’d conceal said habit, never admitting to it), eating sweets, watching documentaries/science-fiction & horror films, cats (his favorite breed of cat is ragdoll), tea, showcasing his abilities to anyone who dare oppose him, and the presence of a certain blue hedgehog. DISLIKE(S): Liars, anyone who threatens to do harm to those he holds dear, feeling helpless or powerless, anyone with an obnoxious or clingy personality, an untidy environment, paper work, anyone who takes ‘the easy way out’ or quitters in general, those who appose his current objective/mission, and being unproductive or feeling as though he’s been ‘unproductive’.
HOBBIES: Reading (partial to science fiction & horror), cooking (baking is his specialty), sketching/taking notes on significant landmarks he’s discovered, dancing (dances to genres such as swing & ballroom), polishing his weaponry along with his motorcycle, and taking his motorcycle out on a joy ride.
❝THE BUILDERS NEVER UNDERSTAND HOW THEIR CREATIONS TRULY FEEL.❞
ABILITIES: Immortality, rapid healing, chaos control (able to control chaos energy; positive && negative), uses attacks such as chaos spear, chaos blast, spin attack, is highly acrobatic, a weapons specialist, and knows a thing or two regarding mechanics.
HISTORY: Shadow was created on what was known as the Space Colony Ark, a government funded facility with the purpose of housing soon to be made weapons of mass destruction. His creator was a brilliant scientist by the name of Professor Gerald Robotnik. He created Shadow with the intention to help cure his grand daughter, Maria, who suffered from neuro-immune deficiency syndrome. Maria would quickly become Shadow’s best friend, even seen as a sibling perhaps. Many wonderful memories were made in that place, a place that Shadow could never forget even if he tried.
The possibility of hope would soon come to an end though once the government tactical group known as G.U.N. found word of this ‘Project Shadow’. The idea of him was a threat, and they wanted to neutralize said threat. G.U.N. infiltrated the colony, taking down all those who stood in their way. In a bleak attempt, Shadow and Maria tried escaping the colony. There was but one escape pod, and Maria upon doing what she felt was right pushed Shadow inside. The pod closed on him, Maria giving him a final farewell. Before Maria could launch the pod into space, a G.U.N. soldier stood from behind weapon in hand, ordering her to cease her actions.
Once again, wanting to do what she felt was right despite being scared, Maria released the pod, the G.U.N. soldier pulling his weapon’s trigger upon instinct. Maria died within moments, giving Shadow the worst possible last look at his only friend. The pod Shadow was in landed on Earth, G.U.N. operatives finding it fairly quickly. They locked Shadow away within the deepest levels of their facility on Prison Island. There he was sealed away for 50 years, lost in cryogenic slumber.
❝A SUPER-DIMENSIONAL BEING? HEH, THIS MIGHT EVEN BE A FAIR FIGHT!❞

Fugazi, Theaterfabrik, Munich, Germany 6/16/92 (FLS #0468)
The city of Munich welcomed Fugazi 5 times between 1989-1999, this 1992 concert being the third stopover. It played out at the Theaterfabrik, as did the two previous concerts in 1989 and 1990 respectively. It turned out to be the last time as well, since the venue got torn down after getting shut down in 1992.
Although the audience are rather low in the mix which makes it difficult to discern part of the “dialogue”, it appears this is a bit of a confrontational gig, as several altercations between band and a handful of patrons (hurling insults or urging the band what to play) arise and the patience of both Ian and Guy wears thin because of it.
In this regard, it is interesting to note that in the December 1, 2011 NPR article Steady Diet Of Everything: The Fugazi Live Vault, Ian fervently recalls this specific show, as it portrays one of his favorite Fugazi live moments:
“There’s a really great show from Munich, in I think the early ‘90s, '93,“ MacKaye says. "At that time, it was pretty typical for the audience to say things like, 'Get on with it!’ and 'Play the music! Just play!’ I remember we had come back on stage for an encore, and somebody was lost or confused, or I don’t know; something had happened and somebody needed help. So we were trying to say, 'Hey, there’s a woman back here, she’s lost and she’s looking for her friends.’ And some guy was just yelling, 'Get on with it! Just play!’ And at that moment, I understood the dynamic, what was going on in this relationship, where he was a consumer and wanted to consume. He wanted sound. So at that moment, we just all turned on our guitars and started feedback, and it was a wall of feedback. And it was like, 'Okay, here’s sound. You just want sound.’ There was no actual engagement with the music; it was just sound they wanted."So it’s maybe five minutes of just feedback. It was a totally surreal moment, and when I hear that, I can smell that moment. It’s so visceral to me, but it’s one of my favorites, because we go right into a song from that.”
The overall audio quality of the recording is not the best, the vocals and drums slightly distant or “hollow” if that makes sense. But it is still quite good or enjoyable and the somewhat bellicose mood (Ian refers to it as “a curious relationship” every time they come to Munich) definitely adds to the merit of the recorded document.
The selection of 22 songs draws on the yet to be released (at the time) In on the Kill Taker album (4; note the different “Morse” on Facet Squared as well as a handful of different lines in the lyrics of Rend It), Steady Diet of Nothing (7), Repeater (5), 3 Songs seven-inch (1), Margin Walker EP (1) and debut 7 Songs EP (3).
The set presents a rarish 1992 live rendering of Burning (performed only 9 times, out of which 2 times in the US and 7 times in Europe) (the intro is cut slightly short here, probably because of the cassette getting turned). Bangers include Sieve-Fisted Find, which lights the show up for me, as well as Turnover, Two Beats Off (Guy is up to some more song referencing in his lyrics, but I can’t figure this one out), or Promises.
The band also performs a bit of rockabilly while they “trace the entire history of rock and roll, from, I don’t know, say the birth of Christ” to taunt some people demanding the band play Minor Threat songs, with Guy and Ian alternately singing “Jesus was born, son of [...] Mary” and “Jesus was a guy hanging on a cross.”
While the live archive contains numerous incredible Reprovisional improvs, this recording arguably presents the most outlandish, free-form, outright stellar live version of the staple (w/ extensive Roadrunner tag) I have heard so far, clocking in at no less than 8 mins 18 secs (for your reference, the album version is merely 2 mins 18 secs). If you listen closely, you can hear the guitars pick up the rockabilly theme again as well at one point, pure genius!
Right after Ian thanks the audience, someone announces “the police are outside, so this has to be it, so please exit quietly, thanks a lot.” This wraps it up.
