TRAINING THE BOYS
Today I took the boys of for a training session alongside Mateo. The young colts had grown so much the last year, and has become more confident in time. Though some of them are still a little unsure of the world, they are getting older and smarter. And also stronger, so I took some time off to train with them today. They really do need some training.
We took all the boys into the arena, and let one of them loose while training the two others, and then switching. First I trained with DER Phantom Force (Phantom). He was quite unsure of what I was asking of him, but definitely did his best.
To give Phantom a break, I walked over to collect DER A Passing Breeze (Breezer), and let the other colt loose to begin training Breezer instead. It was a lot of fun training Breezer, as he was much more confident than Phantom, and actually gave things a try before deciding if it was too scary.
Phantom seems afraid of failing, while Breezer just tries and tries again. He keeps doing that, until he succeeds. I know now that he will be my personal horse, and that Mateo will take over the training of Phantom, when he is broken in. Breezer has the mindset of a champion.
Moon also seems curious and easy to work with, he will probably be a good horse too, when old enough to be broken in.
By the way we are Mette Thorne and Mateo Lopez. I am the owner, and Mateo is the co-owner. He is also my boyfriend, and we have been together for 6 years now. For barely a two ago we decided that we wanted to have our own stable, and that's how we got our hands on some Curlies. Two mares and three stallions.
Now that we have bred our future champions we are excited to see them grow and see them succeed. We also took over the old Dead End Ranch from Julieta Hernandez, as she had become very sick and therefore had to sell the barns and so on.
So now we are living here, and enjoying the beautiful area!

SO MANY BABIES!
Babies has been born! Somehow four out of five mares has given birth somewhere between afternoon snack last night and this morning around 9 am. The only one who hasn't given birth is SS Waps Mystic Moxie, but that will happen sooner or later I'm sure.
The first baby is this little guy sired by OCS Cool Breeze with his dam Tootsie Roo. He is a little Buttermilk Buckskin (Ee Aa nCr), and his name is DER A Passing Breeze, but quickly I began calling him Breezer. He is a lovely lil guy, and very curious as to who us ppl outside his stall where.
This next one is another colt. He is a bay (Ee AA) sired by DER Hidden Pear and here with his dam Moonlight Sonata. His name is DER Concealed by the Moon, but most of the time we just call him Moon. That's kinda pretty straight forward from his name, even if Mateo sometimes teases me and calls him ConCon. I will soon share pictures of us staff, I promise!
Last colt (for now at least) is this boy named Phantom Force who is on the picture with his dam OCS Wakinyan Runner. He is sired by one of the curly stallions we aquired called Copper Jacket. He is a kinda quiet little one, and a little shy. He is a Bay Splash White (Ee AA nSpl) and it feels silly to call him Phantom, so I go with Forcey for now.
The only filly (as of right now) is this little girl with her mom DER Bloody Mary. She is named DER Blue Eyed Meryl, and we just go call her Blue or Meryl. Her dad is one of the curlies aquired called Heartdancer. She is no shy girl, even if her sire kinda is.
