I really like the idea of melded creatures and I wanted to include some in my cube of made up magic cards. But in a draft it's not very probable that you'll find both halves of the melded creature.

So I thought, what if it was more flexible? So I designed a melded creature that you can build out of 2 fortifications and 2 creatures. But which fortification you combine with which creature is kind of up to you.

I'm really proud how this turned out!

Makes me think I'm kind of a good illustrator, you know?

Two options for a keyword ability for Vendetta, a custom multiplayer draft set with a focus on politics and backstabbing.

Spite is an ability meant both to serve as a means of protecting yourself from a lost game and a threat to prevent your opponents from targeting you too hastily. It's definitely a pillowfort-y mechanic, but it could also be used aggressively to clutch out a game in the right circumstances.

Ransom is a detainment/theft ability, making an opponent pay to hang onto their good stuff. I think it's very flavorful, and the variety of possible costs means that it could work well in most or all colors.

These cards are more proof of concept than solid designs, for the record- I'm not convinced 6 is an appropriate base cost for Final Curse, for example.
