Thank you so much for bringing Dungeon Meshi back into my mind! I (apparently) read a few of the first chapters a year ago while sick with Covid and later forgot about it, wrongfully filing it under "fever dream influenced by playing too many RPGs". (Then I saw your fanart and was like "wait I know these people!!!!")

Ich hatte bis ca. zur dritten Klasse Angst vor eingeschalteten Fernsehern. Der Schuldige: die Sendung mit der Maus mit einer Killerkombo aus "Elefant bohrt eine Schraube in den Boden und wird mit ins Loch gedreht", einem Segment über Gummihandschuhe mit dem gruseligen Wort "vulkanisieren", und zu guter Letzt Willi Wiberg. (Die Tatsache, dass ich heutzutage fast den ganzen Tag vor irgendeinem Bildschirm hänge, gibt mir Hoffnung für das Loswerden meiner anderen Ängste...)

The thing most of these have in common is brown leather accessories/clothes. Combine that with synthwave looking shirts and wizardy looking jewelry and there you go! :p

The trick there is the severe contrasts of the Synthwave aesthetic usually knocks brown out of the palette in preference for black. So I could swap that for black leather and such. But then there’s also the matter of the EL wire for the glowing/neon bits, I need to get my hair back, etc...

Oh great now I’m getting costume ideas.
