I have a little thought that I think you would like.

The pits of Lazarus are the graves of the half-humans. And they are talkative enough to be a remnant of human consciousness.

The Halfas don’t live long. Even if they’re ghosts, their human bodies can’t survive more than twenty-five years.

At one point, the halfa feels that this will be his last appeal, and prepares for this in advance. He finds a secluded place, and there turning becomes either a complete ghost, or going to the circle of rebirth.

Danny decided to go into the mountains. He could see the stars in the mountains at night, and he was cold, which proved for the last time that he was alive.

Unfortunately, he did not take into account that he fell out of the time stream, and after a few centuries, he will be able to talk to himself, and also help resurrect his brother and sister, his ward.

Damian listens in horror to his cousin's voice, and recognizes in it the whisper of a pit that has read him tales of other worlds

Oh.

Can Damian hear the pit whispering from those who were dipped in the Lazarus Pit too? Can he hear the whispers following his Grandfather around while he was in the LoA? Can he spot that Everyone besides Tim was dunked in the Lazarus at one time or another?

Imagine being haunted and followed by the whispers of your undead cousin. How much of a personal hell would that be?
