New article!!!
Yesterday was Marc Chagall's birth anniversary, so I did one article about him. It was really hard to pick just 10 paintings, but here they are.
Did you know he traveled to Mexico in search of cheap labor to make a commission? And that Remedios Varo and Leonora Carrington helped him meet the deadline?

‘cause you look even better than the photos (ref; plain lineart below)
Happy 2023!! <3 This year I’m challenging myself to sketch something every day, no matter the subject or the simplicity. so, here’s day 1! :D I need to draw Ray more often, honestly. he’s so beautiful.
i honestly think i like this lineart by itelf better than the flat monocolor version sknskghf i dunno. either way, i tried smth a little different than i normally do and i really really like how this looks hehe
also, thanks to @thefutureviolents for (indirectly and, i’m sure, unintentionally) helping me decide what to draw <3

Here is my latest article at Daily Art Magazine for PRIDE month.
Willem II ruled the Netherlands from 1840 to 1849. In modern terms he would be considered a bisexual man, as he had relationships with both women and men. His portraits are the epitome of masculinity in its most traditional form. After all, these images were carefully constructed to depict power, not reality. He is portrayed on horseback, wearing a military uniform, surrounded by regal symbols, and with his wife and children. In reality, political adversaries took advantage of his sexual orientation to blackmail him into passing reforms in 1848.

This article has so much information I need to read it by parts. It is a great work about paintings and motion pictures. 🤓

STRAGGLEWORT'S BLOG.
(Kept in shorthand.)
17th of August. Bistritz.—
To-night, I close my document.
But what luck it was, what fortune had come upon me, that I have been given an opportunity to share my writings with the world - and to greater strangeness - be paid for such a thing!
I write now with great delight and comfort in the realization that, for the second time in my life, my work surrounding the the undeath of the Boyar Vlad Dracula will be published by a magazine, dedicated to resurrecting and documenting the soul of this most horrifying lord of vampires.
Tl;dr - I wrote some queer-as-hell Dracula fanfic and it's getting published! Properly! In a whole thing! I love public domain!
In November the Dracula Beyond Stoker magazine from DBS press will be putting out its first issue, dedicated entirely to the Vampire himself, and I've been accepted as one of the authors featured! Issue 1 is all about Dracula, the man, the myth, the legend, and all those things he may or may not have been doing while we were busy reading what Mina and the Dude Crew were getting up to.
My story, Friendship and Hospitality, follows Dracula's perspective and all those thoughts he might've had on those first four chapters with our favorite solicitor. But it's only one story of many, and I'd be so pleased for you all to check it out once it's released!
"I thank you. I thank you."
- Your friend,
STRAGGLEWORT
